In this Destination Brides story, while on vacation in Provence, homebody Jenna Brown embarks on a no-strings affair with a handsome stranger. But there’s more to wealthy playboy Philippe D’Usay than meets the eye. Scarred by loss, Philippe’s committed to being alone. But after their Provençal adventure ends, and Jenna discovers she’s pregnant, they must decide if their short-term connection could become a life together forever!

This is the perfect book to read while sailing on a cruise. I was in heaven sitting in my lounge chair with my tropical drink of the day while reading One Night in Provence. This story made for the perfect escape while enjoying my “sea day”.

Jenna Brown, the heroine, and Philippe D’Usay, the hero, were adorable. I’m not sure how realistic this romance was but hey, that is what fantasies are for. I loved every minute of wishing I was Jenna and in Philippe’s arms. Philippe was book boyfriend worthy.

From the first page to the last I was glowing with a smile. Such a cute, fun and enjoyable read. This is the kind of romance book I grew up reading. I loved how Jenna was hard to get and Philippe was persistent. Did I mention how swoon worthy Philippe was? I didn’t need the gentle rock of the cruise ship to help me sway. lol.

I appreciated the writing style that enveloped me into the scene where I could see and smell the fields of Jasmine and Lavender.

This is actually book three in the Destination Brides series but don’t worry, it can definitely be read as a standalone.

This was a heartwarming love story. A classic romance with a happily ever after that left me feeling joy for the entirety of the book and after. One Night in Provence is an easy recommendation by me. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did.

“You will go to the ball.”

And be seduced by a billionaire…

Hotel maid Tabitha is stunned to be gifted a ticket to an elite ball hosted by Greek tycoon Giannis Basinas. It’s meant to be a night of pure luxury. But this untouched Cinderella ends up in Giannis’s bed—utterly pleasured! Making a hasty morning exit out the window, Tabitha expects to return to her ordinary life. Until she discovers her midnight mischief had nine-month consequences!

Unfortunately, it may cause allergies to purchase cheap viagra some people. Hence, one of browse to find out more now viagra on line the consequences of pollution is low sperm count. When they are done well, I adore Cinderella themed stories. There’s something about a sweet person refusing to turn into a bitter, twisted person by life’s injustices, and a hero to swoop in to save the day by appreciating the person she really is. It’s even better when the hero isn’t two-dimensional, not prince-like at all. Giannis is far from a perfect hero which is why I felt he fit. Call him rich, powerful, assured … and broken.

The initial meeting between the two is magical, as it was meant to be. Then real life comes along and throws the hero a curveball. Tabitha is not who he thought and of course he’s furious. No alpha male takes being duped lying down. Even though lying down was sort of the catalyst for what happens in the story.

Tabitha was an interesting Cinderella-like heroine. She’s sweet and beaten down but unlike the fairy tale, she has the capacity to save herself. She just doesn’t know it. I have no idea what a ‘twonk’ is but I grinned when the heroine used the word. Actually, she let loose some really great lines of dialogue throughout the novel and I enjoyed that tremendously.

I also liked reading about the few times Giannis’s heart experienced a wrenching feeling because I knew what that meant. The romance had begun and Tabitha was getting under his thick hide. Corporate movers and shakers who think they have life figured out, and everything in life is going to be on their terms because they have money and power, well, let’s just say they don’t handle things well when they discover they’ve been lying to themselves. Giannis most definitely didn’t handle it well. Being able to see inside his head was interesting because he was so torn! He beat himself up for wanting Tabitha but for some reason he just couldn’t resist her. It was driving him nuts. I knew what was going on and I thought his fractious behavior highly entertaining. This was so much fun!

The plot really took off when Niki, Giannis’s sister, pops in. The love game was afoot and perceptions started to get blown to pieces. I really liked the hero’s sister. She was fun.

The passion between the two is off the charts and a reader is treated to detailed, spicy/hot shenanigans leaving no doubt they are highly compatible. Volatile, but compatible.

When I finally got to the good stuff, when Tabitha reveals who she really is, what she’s been through and how pragmatic and sweet she still was, Giannis’s reaction was all I could hope for in a hero. Okay, he did make a few stupid ‘man’ decisions but once again Niki took him to task as only a sister could. I really, really liked his sister.

There’s actually a lot more I can say about this story but I’ll end here by saying that I absolutely enjoyed reading The Greek’s Pregnant Cinderella. For fans of the fairy tale trope, this is excellent brain candy and I definitely recommend reading this one.

Beauregard is a walking dream—the type of man that makes Michael swoon. All it takes is a single look, a touch, a kiss, and Michael is a quivering, cowering mess.

There’s only one problem. The butch, gruff and muscular Alpha’s ability to showcase Michael’s submissiveness fills him with shame. Unable to accept his role in the bedroom, no matter how fulfilling it might be, Michael breaks up with Beauregard, only to learn that he can run, but he can’t hide from his own truth… no matter where he is, or how far he runs, Michael isn’t complete unless he’s with the one man who unleashed his inner submissive.

Just when it seems all may be lost, an unexpected visit from Santa—yes, the real Santa—helps them realize magic can be had, but only if they believe.

Really rather cute!

I quite liked this, for a short *holiday* story.

Both Michael and Beau have a say, in the first person. Each change occurs as the chapter changes and is clearly headed, so you always know who is talking.

It doesn’t flow very well, though, and I was tempted to dump it at some points. What kept me going was when Michael was in jail and Santa and the elf turned up. Touched on the paranormal, there, and I liked that. I wanted to see how that would all play out.

It was a given that Michael and Beau would end up back together, what I wanted was the HOW it would come about. And whether Michael’s vision would come about.  And it did turn out rather well, I just found it a rather cute read, for a holiday story.

It is, though, the first of three books I can see, and I would like to read them, given the chance. I would also like to read something else by this author, with more pages and more bite.

My Writing Style by James Robinson Jr.

I’m a writer of fiction and nonfiction. My newest book, Jay Got Married: A Collection of 9 Short Non-Fiction Essays, is an example the style I employ when I write a non-fiction book. I thought it might be interesting to give you an idea of this style, the unique way that I put together an essay.

The essays usually begin with a broad subject—movies, the notion of George Orwell’s Big Brother, jellybeans (yes, jellybeans)—and go from there. I write using satire, a humorous, tongue-in-cheek wit, and employ my own experiences as a backdrop. I often touch upon real-life issues but always divert back to my base style. I have also discovered that it helps to use clipart and photos of the handsome author himself to bring home a point. Here is an example:

Jay Got Married

I had a frightful dream. I was standing at the altar with my wife and 400 guests in attendance. It seemed to be a repeat of our wedding in 1976. My now 95-year-old father performed the ceremony for my wife and me the first time around, and that’s how old he appeared to be in this vision. He kept forgetting the lines and was forever looking at me for support. At one point, I was whispering, “The rings, the rings.” I kept reaching for them, but they were disappearing before I could grab them.

Albie, my cousin and best man from my first wedding, was singing Sonny and Cher’s, I Got You Babe. Normally, he can’t sing for shit, but in this scenario, he had his hand on his chest and his head back, sounding like Luciano Pavarotti. What was this all about?
My father, the minister, wearing his trademark Champion sweatshirt, with coffee stains on the chest portions, pronounced us man and wife. I turned to kiss my new bride and caught a glimpse of her bridesmaid. But instead of her best friend who was her attendant back in the day, it was Gal Godot from DC Comics and the movies.

She was wearing her Wonder Woman garb, but she didn’t seem primed for a wedding. In fact, she appeared to be totally shocked by the whole affair. What kind of dream was this?

My wife and I ended the ceremony with a kiss. My mother turned to my father (who was then in attendance in the audience) with a quizzical look and said, “Dad, look at that bridesmaid. Isn’t that Superman?”

She was close. She doesn’t get out much.

Oh, and then, though neither of us would be caught dead on a motorcycle, in this weird musing, we were apparently bikers. Instead of a limousine waiting for us at the curb, there sat a racy motorcycle with cans in tow. It looked like this one:

I Googled it. It’s a BMW S1000RR—sleek, fast, and flashy.

But before I could get on the bike, she pulled off without me, as the cans tied to the wheels of the hot machine banged on the street, while her gown billowed in the breeze. She had left me standing in the street like a lost soul.

True, I shouldn’t have been drinking the caffeinated tea before bed, but more to the point, maybe, just maybe, this crazy vision was a warning, a forecast, an omen. Maybe it was God’s way of telling me that Wonder Woman could show up at your wedding without even paying her an appearance fee. Or even more to the point, perhaps it was to make me appreciate what I have.

What if the unthinkable happened to my wife? What if she succumbed to a disease, or was killed in a terrible auto accident? Or worse, what if her life were cut short in a vicious pit bull attack?

I jest. But you never know.

Seriously, what if I were faced with the prospect of being without her for the rest of my life? I would be devastated, left to fend for myself without my confidant and best friend.

With my life clock ticking away, would I ever get over it? I doubt it. Creeping up on 67 years of age, I would be left with no one to bond with, to grow old with, to offer me comfort when I’m down. My dance card is full, I’m all settled in, and my stuff doesn’t work all that well anymore. I have aches and pains from head to toe. I’m in no shape to be limping back to the starting gate and pushing the reset button.

Even if I wanted to find another partner, I ain’t feelin’ it. I don’t have the desire or energy to pull it off. And in terms of females, I’ve seen what’s out there. Aside from my children and grandchildren—and those little monsters can be a real pain in the butt—my wife is the best thing in my life. After 42 years of cohabitation, she knows me better than anyone. She’s loyal, honest to a fault, puts up with my crap, cleans the toilet after me, and makes a mean cherry pie.

However, she doesn’t laugh at my humor. In fact, she just shakes her head and sighs when I present it to her for her blessings. But I expect that. The mere thought of marrying anyone else is frightful. Could I do it, given those circumstances? Even after years of mourning? I would have to say:

Uh, no. I don’t think so.

If I haven’t totally turned you off, read the whole book. And thanks for taking a look.

Jay Got Married consists of 9 humorous and, at times, poignant essays chronicling the ironies of everyday life in word and picture. Take for example the lead essay, aptly titled, “Jay got Married,” where I find myself mired in a horrendous dream.

In the fantasy, my aging father–dressed in his favorite Champion t-shirt with stains covering the front–marries my wife and I like he did 42 years ago but, this time around, the my 92-year-old ex-clergy dad forgets his lines causing me to coach him through the event with hints like: “ask for the rings, ask for the rings.” All the while, my best man sings Sonny and Cher’s, “I Got You Babe.”

Finally married, my wife and I end the ceremony with a kiss. But as I turn to exit, my eyes catch a glimpse of the bridesmaid who is no longer my wife’s best friend but now Gal Gadot from Dell Comics and Wonder Woman Fame. She is dressed in full Wonder Women regalia and looks totally shocked by the whole affair.

My mother turns to my father (now in the audience) with a quizzical look and says, “Dad, look at that bridesmaid. Isn’t that Superman?” She doesn’t get out much.

As we exit the church, and the bubbles fill the air–no one uses rice anymore—my wife ignores the limo and takes off on a sleek motorcycle, leaving me in the lurch—hence the cover.
Sure, it’s sounds crazy. But, in truth, isn’t the world of marriage crazy these days? In my case, what would one do when faced with the prospect of losing their beloved wife after 42 years? At age 67, would they remarry? Would they even want to remarry? These and other marital tidbits are discussed with humor and as much reverence as I could muster.

P.S. The author pairs up with Wonder Woman again in a final bit of photo wizardry Why? How? How are tricky copyright infringement laws avoided? Read Jay Got Married and find out.

You’re like, “What’s the big deal? Sure, it’s a sad thing, but don’t be too hasty. People fill that void in their lives all the time. It can happen. Sure, you’ve lost someone near and dear to you. But you could get over it. Even at your age. Time heals all wounds.” (Boy, you could’ve done better than that.) “People are living longer now. You’ll have more time to think this through. I see couples remarrying in their 70s and 80s.”

And I say, “While that may be true, I have to ask myself how I could find someone after a tragic death, when married people can’t seem to decide who they want while they’re both still among the living. I see people divorce and remarry two, three, four, and even five times. Amongst the marital shrapnel, some have their next spouses all picked out before the split.

Switch partners in the middle of a dance four or five times? Really? After a few shots at it, I would have to practice a little self-examination. I think I’d ask myself, “Am I missing something? Shouldn’t I be wondering if a pattern is developing?” Before I jump a fifth set of bristles, I’d be thinking, Why do I keep marrying people and divorcing them? Could it be… could it be… could it be… me?

Well, the difference is, you can count these cast-offs in the still among the living category. You can always figure on those exes to be around to torture for alimony, child support, and just general purposes. But once they’re gone, you’d have to feel some kind of grief. Even if you only see their name in the obituary and suck your teeth.

Turn the page and begin this marriage of convenience…

The story opens up with a sensitive scene with an aging horse. Very soon after, the hero arrives to save the horse, but his motives are like an iceberg, I only saw the tip of the conflict. His effect on Emily, the heroine, is rather telling. These romance waters are turbulent and run deep. What fun!

It’s stories like these that make me glad that they are told in the third person point of view. I can see that Alej and Emily are both hurting. I was curious as to what happened. You know, what tied them together in the beginning, and what could bond them now? How could they possibly find common ground with so much angst and past history in the way to have a future? This is a romance after all. And, Alej is the perfect alpha male with attitude so that gets in the way, too.

This is the typical ‘convenient marriage” plot with a twist. They used to want the real thing, badly. Then external forces overwhelmed Emily, and being so young, didn’t stand a chance against the force of more experienced, hardened people around her. I felt bad, at first. Then, I realized the crux of the plot is to have them fall in love now, as the people they’ve become with the baggage of their life’s experiences. Being more mature, more realistic and with a passion that has more of an impact, what kind of fireworks would come from their clash of wills? Bought Bride for the Argentinian is classic romantic brain candy.

The scenes between the two were spicy and the bedroom door, and wherever else it happened, was wide open. Alejandro’s seduction of Emily was blatant and the descriptions left nothing to the imagination. Fortunately, there’s a lot of emotional byplay and push/pull of their personalities to see the romance advance; to see the hero’s perception change, little by little, to see him open up just that teensy weensy bit, giving Emily hope things could be worked out.

The one element that is classic is the hero’s propensity to justify every devious thing he does as payback. His emotions are volatile and his desire for revenge is paramount – or so he thinks. Why would someone want to go to THOSE lengths if he despised a person? Why would he buy certain things for a person he wanted revenge against? His actions belied his words. I liked it when Emily pushed back. She stood up to him just as a great heroine should.

The happy ever after was fulfilled by the epilogue. Since the characters were written well, I cared for them. The message of forgiveness was sweet, poignant and very satisfying. I enjoyed reading Bought Bride for the Argentinian.

There is something I enjoy so much about this author’s writing style! Her stories are simple plots but her talent for creating characters that seem so real with such big personalities is what impresses me. This is a good read that shouldn’t be missed. It’s a cute story of two adults that for some reason seem to not want to be open to let the person their in love with know how they feel. I really didn’t understand why but I didn’t focus on the reason why for long, instead I focused on the story at hand.

Single and fashionable Felicia Hawkins is a character that cares a lot for others and doesn’t seem to be able to find love of her own. Felicia is a strong-willed independent woman who deserves love and happiness. Richard Grimes is a caring widower with two small adorable and obedient daughters.

I enjoyed the story. It is a very cute story of two wonderful people who find love and I felt the author told their story so beautifully. It’s a quick read that’s bubbling with humor and a trait by this author of course, lovable characters. It’s spectacularly paced. I was engaged from the first page. I enjoyed the friendship between Felicia and Richard, even though I still wonder why Richard wasn’t open to tell Felicia how he felt. I love Pam, their co-worker’s meddling. Even though she always had a lot of work to do she found time to lay bread crumbs for Felicia and Richard. Her son Clyde is eccentric and even though his role was small his brief parts in the book tickled me.

This story did reach my heart to say life is too short and love can be right beside you. The author did a wonderful job creating such fascinating characters, she is one of my favorite authors that truly is talented in storytelling. Add this book to your reading list when your looking for something quick, humorous and a happy ending.

Regan and Camryn had known each other for eighteen months and been housemates for the last six of them. While friendly, Camryn has never been keen to view Regan’s artwork, so Regan is surprised when Cam start showing a determined interest. The fact Regan has a massive crush on Cam and the soul-baring intimacy of some of his photographic pieces only makes things more difficult when Regan is determined to keep Cam’s friendship and not mess what they have up with the depth of his personal feelings.

This is a steamy friends-to-lovers style of story. I was pleased the author gave us a bit of time at the start to get a feel for Regan and Camryn’s characters, they didn’t just simply fall into bed together. I could see how they were well suited and each had been lusting after the other for quite a while. I admit I felt this story might fall a bit more into the “Happy For Now” style of relationship, not the “Happy Ever After” style mainly because both men were quite young and each only just beginning in their chosen careers and working lives. The connection and chemistry between Regan and Cam was pretty intense though and while I often don’t get the same feeling of satisfaction out of the “Happy For Now” style of relationships I felt this one might buck the trend and the two men might be able to work themselves out.

I was a little disappointed with Camryn’s freak-out when he discovered Regan wanted to practice Shibari on him. I didn’t get a good handle on why, exactly, Cam felt it so unsettled by this. Cam wanted – and was attracted – to Regan being somewhat Dominant in the bedroom and Cam considered Regan his best friend. So when Cam said he was wigged out because Regan might hurt him and he thought it was bizarre for Regan to want to tie him up, it just didn’t mesh with someone who was comfortable with some elements of BDSM and Domination in the bedroom, and a man who Cam had admitted was his closest and most important friend. This aspect of the plot passed fairly quickly, but I feel the story could have been a lot stronger had Cam’s mindset been either more strongly explained, or better fleshed out as it never really made complete sense to me and put a bit of a dampner on my enjoyment.

The sex between them is both descriptive and I found it hot and believable. There was quite a lengthy lead up between the two men so when they finally got together it was delicious and explosive. While the Shibari (bondage-style rope play) is intense and explicit, I feel this really opens up a different side of BDSM to readers. Personally, I found it interesting, fresh and a lovely flavor of different – but readers looking for something intensely kinky might not feel the same as I did.

Readers looking for a steamy and non-traditional BDSM story should find this quick read really appealing. I enjoyed it and look forward to re-reading it again in the future.

While writing Capital Thirst I actively took part in an online critique group. It was an interesting experience. To have your work critiqued you had to critique the work of others. Which makes sense, otherwise people would just post and never take part.

While doing this I read some amazing work, and some that was, let’s just say, in the early stages. Much of what I read though truly inspired me to improve my writing. Critiquing other writers’ work you come to realize things that do and don’t work. Yes, at the time I used some of those things that don’t work and maybe still do. Another cool thing is that you are reading all different genres. The writing styles of each genre are very different, but some things can be applied across the board.

It’s a little intimidating to put something you’ve worked so hard on up for others to “criticize.” After getting the first few critiques I realized most of the other authors are interested in helping. I suppose the issue I had, and it’s probably more with the site I was on, your work was only posted until it received x number of critiques. Invariably many of them would be worthless, people just trying to get points towards having their own work critiqued and not really putting much or any effort into what they were offering. Others would be great. Lots of detail and ideas to think about. It takes time to wade through the less than useful ones to get to those that are helpful.

I always loved the long descriptive critiques that would go into theme and plotting or talk about character motivation. This provided a lot to think about. Was I going in the right direction? Did I have enough description or too much? Did the actions characters took makes sense did they have motivation? Other critiques would suggest changing this word or that or adding a comma. These weren’t as useful. I may end up rewriting or removing that sentence or paragraph altogether. Sure it helps, but that wasn’t what I was after.

After my experience with Capital Thirst, which overall was good, I didn’t plan to post Beverly Hills Torture. But now as I’m approaching the time when I’m about to send it to an editor I’m rethinking that decision. A good deal of the feedback was very useful, and I included it in the final draft. The downside is, it takes a lot of time and effort both in reviewing the work of others and going through the critiques of your own work. But I think it’s worth the effort to get the feedback of your peers.

If there was a choice, I probably would choose not to do it online but with a group of local authors. I think the responses would be more sincere. Please don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of very good authors that provided great feedback online, but I think if the person is sitting across from me and seeing me face to face they may work harder and the feedback would be far more interactive. Unfortunately while I’m aware of a sci-fi group locally I haven’t found any paranormal romance or romance.

One last word on the subject. Just like any other online community, it makes me sad to say, there are trolls. Some people just can’t be happy unless they trash someone else. I don’t understand this but it seems to be a fact of online life.

The smell of the lavender in the bath water made her linger a minute longer as she ran her hand down her smooth, alabaster arm, and then across her flat stomach. She lay back in the tub with her head resting on the soft spa pillow at the end. Her body melted into nothingness. The
warmth filled her with a longing for a time now beyond her grasp.

Her thoughts floated through images of men she had killed. The terror of their last thoughts flooded back, aroused, and saddened her.

A siren on the street jarred her from her thoughts. She stood and let the tiny rivulets of water run the length of her lithe body. She stepped out onto the soft, luxuriant bath mat. Her long black hair, in stark contrast to her body, came just short of the middle of her back. She reached for a plush white towel to dry herself. She bit her lower lip, worried that she lingered too long. That she might be late.

Tonight was her night to kill, and she wanted it to be perfect. Just who would it be?

About the Author: I love a good paranormal read, something about the un-dead haunts the fringes of my mind. Mix in romance, love, loss, and you have a great story.

I voraciously read everything, fiction, and non-fiction but always find myself turning back to the darker stories. I’ve always wanted to write and the dream became a reality with Capital Thirst, and the remainder of the Erin Kingsly novels.

I spend most of my days designing and building websites, but my free time is devoted to my wife, family, and cats. Yes three grown children and three cats. Things can be hectic.

For fun you might find me driving winding roads with the top down or out photographing nature.
