It’s a risk of a lifetime loving a man you’re supposed to hate…

Betrayed by a brother she hardly trusted before the bloodthirsty Viking, Jarl Randvior Sigurdsson, attacks her home, Noelle Sinclair is conveniently bartered as a means to save her cowardly sibling’s skin. Forced to leave her homeland and accompany the petulant Viking to the untamed wilderness of central Norway, Noelle is ever-aware of the burgeoning dangers around her—including her weakening resolve to resist Randvior.

It builds up lots of stress and anxiety. cheap cialis 20mg It is found fossilized condition beneath viagra sample canada the rocks of the Himalayas. Natural cures for erectile dysfunction in young men, let us look at this condition. Should Noelle surrender to his resplendent charms and seduction, or fight with every ounce of strength she possesses to get home?

Blind Allegiance is a historical novel set in an era I’m not very familiar with– the time of the Vikings. The romance is between Randvior Sigurdsson, a Viking chief and worshiper of Odin, and the devoutly Christian Britain, Noelle. Bartered to him by her brother as payment for leaving the family home intact, Noelle is repulsed, while at the same time, intrigued and attracted to Randivior.

The storyline, especially after the couple is on the ship heading back to Norway, moves smoothly. The beginning of the book was a little confusing as we are set right down in the middle of the action and it took me a little while to know what was going on.

The book also read more like a more modern historical romance instead of being set as far back in time as it was. While the story was interesting and I really liked the characters, I never had the feeling that I was actually in the 11th century.

However, the characters more than made up for that–Randivior is a man of honor who, having seen Noelle in a vision sent from Father Odin, is sure she’s his fate. So, he sets about to make that happen. The interaction between him and Noelle as they move from enemies to being physically lovers and then to falling in love is interesting. Noelle is seduced into a physical relationship, but still keeps a part of herself back–and that’s the part Randivior wants to claim. Unfortunately, his mother doesn’t make it easy on them.

Overall, it was refreshing to read a historical romance outside the norm. Even better, this is the first of a series, and I’m looking forward to the next books.

An enigmatic woman, a determined spy, and a design that could shake the foundations of Europe…

“Heartless” Cordelia Bering refuses every marriage offer she receives. Yet men still try to win her, drawn by her sharp wit and intoxicating green eyes. But Cordelia knows a marriage could reveal her deepest secret and truly endanger her life. Besides, she hasn’t met a man worth considering, until…

Sebastien Thorne, a spy in the service of Crown. One of the elite agents in the group known as the Zodiac, he comes to London determined to solve a mystery with roots on the Continent. He won’t let anything distract him. But is Cordelia a distraction, or the key to the mystery? As he learns more about the “heartless” woman, he becomes embroiled in secrets, plots, and a design that could change the future…and Cordelia is at the center of it all.

A HEARTLESS DESIGN is the first book in the Secrets of the Zodiac, a series that blends the sensibilities of modern romantic suspense with the rich background of the Regency period.

In true classic style, A Heartless Design delivers the romance-lovers favorites: an evocative love story in an historic setting.
Characters are wonderful. Cordelia is utterly believable as a woman of her times, with a little gift (for engineering) that sets her apart. It doesn’t do to be set apart at such times; women were meant to keep to their place. Her skill and her age means she is an unlikely heroine for a romance. She has also (*gasp*) chosen not to marry, leaving her quite out of the marriage market.
Bio-magnetic sildenafil canada therapy is natural and simple. To diminish the dangers of stern side effects connected with other prostate cancer treatments http://www.tonysplate.com/reviews_nutritional_scales.php price of cialis are greatly reduced, including erectile dysfunction and incontinence. How does Kamagra work? Kamagra contains an buy sildenafil canada active ingredient known as sildenafil citrate. Kamagra Oral Jelly low priced viagra has been presented by its maker Ajanta Pharma so as to bond the achievement brought by their non specific item Kamagra pills. However, she captures our sympathy at once, as her kindness is evident from the first.

Ms. Cole ascertains that her heroine meets the gold standard of romance in the looks department – but she tells it best, let me offer a paragraph:

Cordelia headed down the stairs a moment later, her gown trailing along the steps. The deep gold fabric set off her black hair to perfection, and the cream colored wrap accented the dress without showing it up. She sighed. Once, she would have been ecstatic to think of the looks that would be cast her way tonight. But it had been years since the attentions of men had been anything but a burden…

A wonderful main character, with secrets, but everything is also and obviously delivered in a beautiful and flowing writing style.

The backdrop is London, of course. All the expected items are in place: Balls, family, and the grande style of homes with the obligatory loyal servants, but it is all so nicely presented as to seem interesting.

The gentleman in the picture, Lord Thorne, is offered as almost a prize. However, one does have to wonder how he has managed to elude marriage for so long…His friend and fellow officer, Neville is also important. In fact, the reader is inclined to develop quite a crush on the amusing Neville, aka ‘Aries.’  The author exhibits a particularly deft touch in developing the friendship of these men and only gradually do we discover what sort of ‘business’ their affiliation in the ‘Zodiac’ actually represents.

A Heartless Design has more depth than one might be given to expect in a romance.  In fact, there is a threat both men suspect… though neither they nor Cornelia know of her own place in this intrigue. How could they know? She must, given the cultural norms of the time, keep her own involvement completely secret. Her secrecy might well end up endangering her, but trust is a hard master as well. There’s chemistry between she and Thorne, of that there is no doubt! Yet, true trust is a completely different thing.

This delightful romance, with its element of mystery/espionage and potential danger, is completely enthralling. Step back into a perfectly satisfying early nineteenth century romance – and find what one could hardly expect: the unexpected.

I recommend you put A Heartless Design right at the top of your reading list!

When widow Katie Lafferty arrives at the Pythian House, a home for widows and orphans, she has little hope for the future. She soon learns the reality offers more grueling work than she could have imagined. One of the few bright spots in her daily drudgery is Latin Master Everett Brown at the school across the street. As Katie struggles to conform to the rules and settle into her new life, she looks forward to her chance meetings with Mr. Brown When she fails to meet the standards of the home, her future becomes even more uncertain. If she has a knight in shining armor, it’s Everett Brown.

Katie never expected to be widowed so soon. She also had no idea that her husband was so far in debt…

This author has picked an interesting subject to write about. I had never heard of a Pythian’s Home for Widows and Children before. To set a romance in this setting was very entertaining.
purchase viagra online Men that are suffering from impotence issue tend to isolate themselves from their own relationships and withdraw from their partners. Katie has no choice. She no longer has a home, has only the clothes on her back and she has no source of income so her only choice is to accept the aid of the Pythian’s Home. After all, if her husband hadn’t been in good standing it’s likely her only other choice would be to act as a prostitute. She travels to the closest home and hopes for the best.

Ms. Murphy writes a nice, easy romance tale that flows well and makes you smile. Katie has troubles, but she is bound and determined to get over them and go on with her life. The author makes her kind and thoughtful with a bit of rebelliousness mixed in. Katie will need all of that if she’s to live in this home and not be ground down.

Katie’s love interest is the teacher next door. It’s a one room school and the children from the home attend classes there. Everett has fallen out of favor with the home because of an incident with the boys. However, he’s nice enough to Katie. He also grows quite fond of her.

This is a short story, so it seems the romance was a bit rushed but Katie has lived all of her life properly and as she should. It may be that finally being free let her spirit loose.

I really like how Ms. Murphy ended it. It’s a bit corny, but it made me smile. After all, we have hopes and dreams. And who wouldn’t like a white knight to whisk them away? Give this book a read; I know you’ll enjoy all the antics in it.

Lowered expectations can be depressing, but Etienne has learned the hard way what happens when manufactured emotions deflate.

After years of neglect and malnutrition Etienne is almost ready to give up on life. No matter how hard he works he never seems to get ahead. I was drawn to his quiet, worn out spirit immediately, especially when a series of mysterious events stir up his last flicker of hope. At fourteen Etienne is old enough to know how the world really works now, and I was torn between cheering him on and wincing at the thought of him being disappointed by the cruelty of others yet again. Within a few short paragraphs I felt as if I’d known this character for his entire life and could predict exactly how he’d react to almost any outcome. It takes skill to develop a well-rounded narrator this rapidly, and I will definitely be on the lookout for more of Ms. Jenna’s work in the future.

This story packed an incredible amount of background information into a small number of scenes. Seven pages simply wasn’t enough space to fully cover all of the subplots that Ms. Jenna includes. Expanding it into a novella would have allowed more time to explore the character’s backgrounds as well as the the emotional ramifications of Etienne’s discovery. All of the subplots the author introduces are fascinating, and even though I thought the introductions of them were rushed I completely understand why she felt the need to mention them. The plot is richer and far more interesting because of this decision, but I wish I would have been given more time to absorb all of the surprises she packed into it.

The age recommendation for this piece is somewhat flexible. There is nothing inappropriate here for the 12+ age group, but it will probably resonate more with older students who are more likely to have processed bittersweet experiences in their own lives. I definitely would not recommend it for anyone under 12, though, due to the detailed descriptions of a certain character’s troubled past.

I’ve been mulling over the fate of every single person in Glowing Dim as an Ember since I finished reading it. This is a good choice for anyone who likes character-driven stories that are full of rapidly shifting plot twists.

The Lance Temptation was the most thrilling and exciting read for me this year in this genre. Most of the time I was sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails as I eagerly read to find out what would happen next. I definitely think that this book deserves more attention than my review can give.

Why did I like The Lance Temptation so much? This story is full of surprises. The characters might not be likable per se, mostly because they do stupid things and make stupid choices and as such, experience grave consequences. They might be pretending, scheming and self-centered, but that was not a negative for me because it meant that they are real, three dimensional characters. The teenagers in this book are acting like real teenagers and their parents are acting like real life parents, and that is what was the most important.

Even better than the characters is the way this story is crafted. It’s beautifully done. Brenda Maxfield knitted together a tale that is both thrilling and realistic about friendship, first love, choices, mistakes, and shattered dreams. The author wrote the ending with the same quality as the rest of the story; it’s very realistic, but satisfying. It took me awhile to get into the story, but once I was, it was so hard to let it go till the end. It flows nicely and without any inconsistencies or illogicality.

The Lance Temptation is definitely a story worth reading. I highly recommend it to all readers who love to read YA. And I am so happy that there is a second installment in the series, so I can follow the ups and downs of Emily growing up.

So when Ben, an old flame, calls her out of the blue and reminds Lottie of their pact to get married if they were both still single at thirty, she jumps at the chance. No formal dates—just a quick march to the altar and a honeymoon on Ikonos, the sun-drenched Greek island where they first met years ago.

And Ben’s colleague Lorcan fears that this hasty marriage will ruin his friend’s career. To keep Lottie and Ben from making a terrible mistake, Fliss concocts an elaborate scheme to sabotage their wedding night. As she and Lorcan jet off to Ikonos in pursuit, Lottie and Ben are in for a honeymoon to remember, for better . . . or worse.

If you were the older sister, how responsible would you feel for your younger sibling? Having lost your parents and raised your younger sister, you would feel motherly toward her and responsible for seeing that she does not make irreparable decisions with her life. This is Fliss’s dilemma.

Lottie has a history of romance entanglements that end in frustrating break-ups. She also has a history of making rash decisions after each break-up which months later, she regrets. This last break-up is no different. Richard just wanted to continue the way they were, Lottie was already preparing to choose her wedding gown.

Enter Ben. Lottie and Ben have not seen each other in 15 years. Their love affair during their college gap year has left memories that have endured due to the unique passion and, let us face it, mythical fantasies of the mind. In only takes one meal, a few drinks, and a spontaneous proposal to push Lottie into an entertaining chase to wed and consummate her marriage.

As any responsible about to be divorced sister would do, Fliss must stop this wedding. Fliss wants Lottie to avoid making the mistakes she herself has made in life. If unable to stop the wedding, she must at least prevent consummation so an annulment will be possible. The story develops from here as a madcap chase and devious scenarios to prevent the newlyweds from consummating their “love”. Unlikely allies such as Ben’s financial adviser (Lorcan), Richard (yes, he misses Lottie and cannot live without her), and Noah (Fliss’s seven year old son) make this an unforgettable and delightful story.

These women are at times on steroids hysterical. Although I think this story would have benefited from a strong editor, if you can overlook these parts of the story, you will find laughter and enjoyment as the chase ensues and the frustrated newlyweds try to become creative in their endeavors to consummate.

Depending on someone had never been easy but he would give up his millions if he could spend the rest of his life teasing Jonathan.

From the moment Jonathan Stevens drops his breakfast and pulls Kai Stromwell to safety, the attraction between them ignites and burns like wildfire. This is book three in a series and as a reader who has read them all, I’ll freely admit that I wasn’t a fan of Jonathan when I first met him. Somehow Ms. Kell instantly endears him to me when I learn of his struggles with PTSD and the way he instantly falls for Kai and is willing to do anything to protect him.

There is a plot thread of someone out to get Kai, which ended in such a way that I didn’t see it coming. Ms. Kell set it up so beautifully that I was looking one way and didn’t suspect the real culprit until the big reveal. I deeply enjoyed that she actually had her characters question whether a relationship started in the middle of such adrenaline fueled situations can last, and then had them prove that love can truly conquer anything.

This is a story of love, with a side of intrigue that just adds to the storyline. I highly recommend reading this story and while I recommend reading the others in the series, because I enjoyed them as well, I truly believe that a reader could easily love Jonathan and Kai all by themselves.
