The last thing they’re looking for is love …

Laura Matheson is a natural at avoiding romance, so when she is drawn to mystery guest Daniel Stone while helping out at her friends’ hotel in Portugal, she assumes all she needs is a little extra willpower.

Daniel is at the hotel on business. The demands of work and a manipulative ex-girlfriend mean he doesn’t have the time or energy for romance, but Laura is a distraction he finds hard to ignore.
The Minicare I-20 system consists of a handheld analyzer, dedicated software, and a single-use disposable cartridge containing an application specific assay that works with as little as a finger prick of blood, and do not require quality control which cheap tadalafil overnight makes the medical device and biologic system ideal for use in hospitals where funds and resources are tightly controlled. Some people will prefer using online means buy tadalafil or credit card in order to complete the transaction and pay using the same.
As they negotiate a minefield of misunderstandings and mutual attraction, will they both continue to hold back? Or will they finally allow love into their lives?

When Laura Matheson and Daniel Stone find themselves together in one of the most romantic places on earth, love should come easy. So why are they holding back?

An annual summer vacation is all business for Laura, who travels to Portugal to stand in for her friends who own Quinta Maria, a country hotel, while they go on a holiday of their own. But the same day Laura arrives, so does the handsome Daniel Stone, a travel agency owner incognito. Although he is constantly visiting idyllic places to send his travel clients, he is growing tired of not having any time to enjoy life … and having an unwanted ex-girlfriend following him halfway around the world makes things even more distressing.

Before Laura and Daniel ever arrive at the Quinta Maria, the two clash at the airport, “Excuse me. You’ve picked up the wrong bag.” Laura’s fiery temperament, coupled with Daniel’s no-nonsense personality, has them quarreling from the outset.

There are many moments when the two finally settle down to an absolutely huggable relationship. So enchanting! These romantic moments were well worth the wait. And for added enjoyment, the rich details and descriptions of Portugal are written so beautifully and in such an inviting way that the reader will surely want to add Portugal to their list of “must see” places.

Both Laura and Daniel are very “real” characters. So much so, in fact, that their personality flaws were strong enough to be more aggravating than I expected. Especially the main character Laura, whom I really wanted to like, seemed to have a few anger issues that might have been better dealt with outside the realm of this novel. She often came off as abrasive and prickly. Every time Daniel made a bit of headway in forming a friendship with Laura, she turned into a powder keg. It was as if she walked into every situation expecting to be offended, and it seemed she was determined to find fault.

In spite of these character flaws, this novel was well written and told a story that kept me turning pages. If you like light romance with a bite, this is one story you’ll be glad you read.

Psychic medium Deanna Oscar wants to be a normal psychology professor at a nice college. The universe has other ideas. When the grandmother she never knew dies and leaves her everything, Deanna enters a different world. In New Orleans anything goes and her psychic powers aren’t a secret. She doesn’t plan on staying but a psychic vision puts her on the trail of a killer. Deanna can’t turn her back on the future victims and becomes immersed in her grandmother’s world. She isn’t sure how to manage the mansion and fortune she inherited or the people who came with it. An ex-priest, a Latina drag queen and a socialite beauty queen are the living entourage. Add in a houseful of ghosts and haunted objects and Deanna needs a little help. In over her head, she struggles to catch a killer who is out to get her as well.

Psychic visions take over when Deanna Oscar arrives in New Orleans for a job interview. The young woman finds herself inheriting a house from a grandmother she never knew existed. Grandma was also psychic and Deanna finds herself entangled in a murder mystery.. Thrown into a world of murder and the paranormal, Deanna also finds humor in her friendship with Ivy the drag queen, her neighbor Mary Lou and Missy her ghostly maid.

This book is one of a kind, although as the first of a series there probably will be more like this…at least I hope so. The writing is unique. Ghosts and paranormal have been written about before, but not with such depth. I traveled with Deanna as she helped hunt down the killer, discovered why he behaved in such a way and tried to save the victims. Along the way she makes friends with a judge, a sheriff and her recently deceased grandmother. Then there’s the unfriendly magical items locked in her storeroom, items which must never be allowed to escape.

The book contains a wealth of characters who make the story extremely enjoyable and I would love to read the next book in the series. If it’s as good as this one it will be a winner.

A quick mission to retrieve a bag of blood leaves Makar Decanus and Baruch Abella’s head spinning when they stumble upon their potential mate. Unknown to them at the time, this isn’t just any ordinary doctor with sea-green eyes and a tantalizing scent of violets. She might very well be the catalyst leading to the destruction of the Insedi race.

Dr. Keely Anderson thinks she’s on to something wondrous when not one, but three patients reveal they’ve seen men disappearing before their eyes. Undaunted by her prick boss’s demand she stop investigating, Keely finds herself swept into the arms of two overwhelming males that want to see her permanently positioned between their sexy as hell bodies. But will her heartrending past keep them at arm’s length?

Scarred by both physical and mental abuse from her past, Dr. Keely Anderson doesn’t feel she is worthy of love. Every relationship thus far has ended when she let her guard—and her clothing—down. Resigned to her fate of being alone, she’s settled herself into a comfortable routine and thrown herself into work. Intelligent, beautiful, funny, and sexy are not words she’d use to describe herself. No, Keely thought of herself as nothing more than battered goods and mediocre at best. Rather than dwell on the past and how her life may have been different, she focuses on trying to help others. Too bad her education does little to help her. As a psychiatrist, you’d think she’d have it all figured out. But truth be told, she’s killing herself with misery. She needs just as much help as her patients, she just doesn’t know it.

Keely’s boss certainly doesn’t help matter, either. He treats her as though she doesn’t have a single brain cell in her head and belittles her at every opportunity. When she stumbles upon a phenomenon that’s repeated by several of her patients—none of whom know each other—she does her best to try and convince him that there is something paranormal going on. As expected, Mr. Webb practically laughs in her face, then forbids her from pursuing her investigation of these so called other-worldly events. What Keely doesn’t realize is her curiosity is not only a danger to her job, but threatens the well-being of the people of Insedivertus as well. One way or another, she has to stop her investigation. Though, it just might take two Insedi warriors to convince her.

Makar and Baruch are no strangers to love. They’ve had a strong bond with each other for years. Before all the women of their planet were murdered, they shared a mate, Tianus. But Tianus had been spoiled and immature. Unbeknownst to Makar, she had used her affection for him to hurt and torment Baruch. While they both had mourned her passing, they did the only thing they could to get through it: they turned to each other. The idea of having another mate to share seemed like a distant dream. That was until they spotted Dr. Keely Anderson making her rounds in the hospital. As soon as Baruch lays eyes on the shapely doctor, he knows she’s the one to complete their family. It doesn’t take long for Makar to reach the same decision. Now all they have to do is convince Keely that she’s the perfect mate for a couple of love-struck aliens.

I don’t know how Ms. Prater does it. Each story in the Fueled by Lust series is just a good as the one before. She’s managed to weave together this fantastic world of wonderful men who want nothing more than to dote on their mate. Each new tale not only revisits characters of previous installments, but she also manages to skillfully weave in new ones, which I hope means this line will never end. I liked the change of pace with this book by adding in a second male. The presence of M/M love on Insedivertus has been evident since book one. Yet, Ms. Prater has not made this an overwhelming theme. On the contrary, she’s added just enough into the mix to make it feel natural. While Makar and Baruch are indeed a mated pair, they’ve turned to each other out of necessity. They both long to replace that love with a mated female. I’m not a big M/M fan. While I have read and enjoyed some M/M stories, I’ve always preferred M/F. But Makar and Baruch’s relationship felt normal and appealing from the get go. I must admit, I’m envious of Keely. One Insedi male would be a dream come true. To have two chasing after you would be nothing short of Heaven.

Once again, Ms. Prater has managed to engross my attention to the point that if there were any flaws in her editing, I didn’t notice. I absolutely love how she builds on each new story with snippets of past installments. I feel like I know and love these people. Each character’s personality—strengths and weaknesses—continue to add and perfect the makeup of Insedivertus. Ms. Prater has integrated the Insedi race into the people of Earth in such a manner that it just may make you wonder…could it be possible?

While I always hate the final page and the words, The End, I turn my sadness into hope that Ms. Prater will continue the Fueled by Lust series with many more installments to come. No pressure. *smile*

Thank you Ms. Prater for another masterfully penned story with not one but two wonderful Insedi men. I’ve quit trying to pick a favorite; I don’t think it’s possible. The characters of the Fueled by Lust series will surely color my dreams and fantasies for many years to come.

If you dream of Alpha males with tender hearts, realistic females with a flaws to flaunt, and other worlds a heck of a lot more interesting than ours, then be sure to check out the Fueled by Lust series by Celeste Prater. I haven’t read a single one yet that hasn’t garnered my full attention and captivated my heart.

Gailana is the central island of the world; Aurganots, Reminos, Hindarassis, Pelanese, and Free People, different societies with different customs and values, live in it. Gailana is old, with a history rich in events and civilisations. The mother island has undergone important changes in recent decades, including a devastating war from which the Aurganots emerged victorious. Following this war, Aurganot has become a country of wealth, technology, and power, dominating all others.

In this modern age, Aurganots value their new found joie de vivre; Pelanese love commerce and business; Reminos are still dedicated to honour and glory in war; Hindarassis continue to care most about their families; and the Free People cherish their freedom above anything else. Among the Free People, a young Levon has set a high and ambitious goal: to seek and find the ultimate meaning of all that humans do. Levon has been on his intellectual quest for years, and the coming days are significant. Paratos, the sage of Gailana, is in the land of the Free People, and Levon is readying to meet him. The young man knows that something life changing will come out from this meeting, only he does not imagine what.

In this fictional first part of The Story in Three Parts, John H.T. Francis tells the story of Levon, a young and sincere soul looking for meaning in a changing world. This short novel will take you on a journey through Gailana, shows you its diversity, and brings you close to many of its human aspects. Events will develop fast on the island, and Levon is about to be in the midst of them.

This author brings us a well thought out treatise on searching for meaning on Gailana, the central island of the world with several different societies living on it. I think it’s more than a coincidence that Gailana is very similar to Gaia, the Greek personification of Earth.

The author takes a look at the role of Story through this small book in three different ways. The first section is about Levon, who is trying to discover the one meaning for everything that people do. In the second portion of the book, the author shares his feeling about Story in in a philosophical way – I have to admit, this was the hardest part of the book for me to grasp my mind around. And, in the final section, we go back to stories and their importance for people.

This book, though short in pages, is long on concept. The idea that all of us are connected by Story and of our perceptions of the world is one to think on and ponder about. I believe it will take more than one reading to fully see everything the author is examining.

When Angie Simms arrives in town to help his brother’s fiancée with their upcoming wedding, she stirs things in him that he hasn’t felt in a long time. Things he doesn’t want to feel. So he pushes her away.

Angie wants what she wants, and doesn’t always think before she speaks. When she lays eyes on sexy cowboy Nathan, she’s determined to find out what caused his brooding attitude. She can tell right away that he’s not someone to play with. He’s got a layer of hurt around his heart, which makes him that much more attractive.

The feisty woman is determined to make Nathan her conquest, but will he take a chance on Angie?

Nathan thought he’d never teach horse riding lessons again, bad memories crowding everything helpful out of his mind. Seriously nervous, his mood isn’t helped when he’s interrupted by Angie – the best friend of his brother’s fiancée. Here to help with all the wedding preparations, Nathan is attracted, but having been seriously burned in the past isn’t sure he wants that kind of heartache again. Angie is ready to make some life-altering decisions. Having been fired from her job and with her lease up, she decides to give Deer Creek—and Nathan in particular—a go until after the wedding. Then she can decide if she wants to give the man, and place, a chance to change her life.

I was initially dismayed by how rocky things began between Nathan and Angie. Angie clearly had the hots for Nathan, and told him so right up front. Nathan, however, has never done “casual” and had zero interest in having or being a fling. This added quite a bit of tension between them, and while I could understand, it lessened the impact for me of their chemistry. I really felt for Nathan – who had been treated horrendously by an ex-lover. He’s everything I love in a cowboy hero, strong, loyal and steadfast. Angie was a little harder to read. While she seemed outwardly like a typical happy, sexy city girl, there were hidden pockets in her past and with her family that we learn as the book moves on. I was also a little sad she felt at times she couldn’t be honest with Nathan. While it was always for an understandable reason, someone as hurt as Nathan had been previously deserved the truth and respect. This diminished my enjoyment of Angie. I loved the setting of the book though, that wonderful small town feel and with a strong cast of family on Nathan’s side there were plenty of funny antics and happy moments to offset the tension.

There is a strong cast of secondary characters whom I thoroughly enjoyed, and clear links to past (and hopefully future!) books. The sex was hot and steamy. Spicy enough I’d not share it with my mother, but not outrageous or envelope pushing. I’m intrigued enough by Nathan’s family and the cast of characters that I will look into other titles by this author. Overall I really enjoyed this book. A few bumps couldn’t diminish the love and chemistry between Nathan and Angie and I was thrilled with their happy ending.

Yellow Moon, a Lakota maiden, accompanies her family to the Sun Dance and becomes promised to a Santee warrior who’ll soon be chief. While accompanying Thunder Eyes’ clan back to his tribe, she and the other women are stolen by the Crow, and while in Plenty Coup’s camp is told she’ll become his second wife rather than be a slave. She finds friendship and help at the hands of his first wife, a Cherokee captive called Pretty Shield.

When Thunder Eye’s comes to rescue his betrothed, she begs him to take her newfound friend along, and the two women eventually become sisters-in-law. When the Crow come to extract their revenge, fate changes their destiny in a big way.

Yellow Moon, a young Lakota Sioux woman, must accept the fact that a husband for her has already been chosen, and he’s from a tribe that will take her far from the only home and people she has ever known.

The Sun Dance ceremony holds great importance to the Plains Indians, and this year Yellow Moon is of age to participate in the search for the sacred cottonwood. Her excitement is high and her mother is hopeful that she will be one of those chosen, but before the ceremony begins, a handsome young brave named Thunder Eyes follows Yellow Moon when she is sent for water. The two are drawn together from the very beginning into a relationship worthy of reading.

Thunder Eyes is the son of Chief Black Bear from the Santee tribe, and he is next in line for chiefdom. That makes him a pretty good catch for Yellow Moon! He offers blankets, a carved smoking pipe, and the promise of seven horses for the hand of their eldest daughter. A good trade, so the young woman’s parents choose Thunder Eyes as her future husband. As soon as the Sun Dance ceremony ends, Yellow Moon rides off with Thunder Eyes. Just the few days they have together on the trip back to his tribe, the two form a lovely bond, but before long the Crow attack and Yellow Moon is stolen.

Pretty Shields, a woman stolen long ago from her Cheyenne tribe, is the Crow leader’s current wife, but he decides he needs a second wife. Yellow Moon and Pretty Shields form a strong friendship and the two end up staying together for the duration of the book.

Although accurate, some of the vernacular used in the book, such as pale face, tom-toms, and Hau, gave an unwanted cliché and commercial feel to the novel, especially when, “’Taku eniciyapi he?’ He asked her name” has set the scene for the reader. Also a bit disappointing were events that deserved space in this story, for example, a much anticipated wedding ceremony passed with, “after they were officially declared husband and wife…” I felt cheated by not being able to see the ceremony, or know what the groom thought of the bride in her white doeskin decorated with turquoise, or even who attended the joining. The story would have fared better had it been further developed. Lastly, the story’s culmination seemed rushed and was unfulfilling.

The best of this story was its characters who were thoroughly alive for me. Some polishing and another one hundred pages expounding upon the story would have made this a real winner.

If you like Native American love stories, this quick read will take you to another time and place and allow you to meet people you’ll want to remember.

Photographer, animal lover, and unfortunately for the summer, the new girl in town, Cora Nash considers herself a simple girl. Renovating and living at her grandmother’s house seemed like a good idea, until events took a turn for the bizarre. Garbage cans viciously torn into, howls from the woods, wild animals behaving erratically, and an ominous warning from the good looking bad boy, “Stay out the forest.”

This seemingly normal town hides a mysterious and violent secret. When one of the townsfolk up and disappears in the forest, leaving nothing but a pair of shoes, Cora is the only person willing to investigate. The answer, however, is nothing she could have ever anticipated, when under a full moon she finds herself face to face with a… werewolf.

And… more importantly, who could it be?

The forest isn’t quite as peaceful as it used to be.

Cora imagined her summer would be filled with memories of reconnecting with her grandma and taking pictures in the forest. She never thought she’d come face to face with a creature straight out of her worst nightmare. Worst of all, the werewolf might be someone Cora knows. Will she figure out who the werewolf is before it is too late? I must warn readers that Lunar Rampage contains graphic violence and the descriptions of the werewolves are truly terrifying. Readers sensitive to this sort of content are forewarned.

Cora is definitely one of the quirkiest women I’ve come across in a book. The things she says are so odd and yet it all seems very natural for her. As I read, I was always wondering what would come out of her mouth next. Her eccentric behavior is something she definitely inherited from her grandma. Cora’s grandma, is definitely a hoot. While she’s certainly not like any grandma I’ve ever met, I could clearly picture the woman Ms. Cross created. Although, it was always entertaining to watch Cora and her grandmother, sometimes I do feel like it was a little over the top. Besides her sense of humor, one of the things I like most about Cora is her innate kindness. She is willing to give most people a chance. She sees friendship and possibilities in people that others wouldn’t give a second glance. Consequently, she manages to attract a colorful assortment of friends that really enhance this tale.

Cora and “bad boy” Max have the beginnings of great chemistry. Their first encounter is not exactly pleasant, but once they spend more time together, I could see their attraction beginning to grow. However, every time that Cora and Max got close to acting on their budding romance, something happened to interrupt them. I found this exceedingly frustrating, and I sincerely hope that Ms. Cross has plans to develop their relationship further in the next book.

I have every reason to hope that there will be a sequel to Lunar Rampage. While the ending was satisfying, it also raised a lot of questions and was very open ended. Cora and Max aren’t quite out of danger yet. I’m definitely looking forward to reading about what happens to them next.

I enjoyed reading Lunar Rampage and getting to know a heroine as unique as Cora. Readers looking for a fast paced, hair-raising paranormal would do well to pick up a copy of Lunar Rampage today.
