They hailed her “Liberty,” but she was free only to obey—or die.

Betrayed by her father and sold as payment of a Roman tax debt to fight in Londinium’s arena, gladiatrix-slave Rhyddes feels like a wild beast in a gilded cage. Celtic warrior blood flows in her veins, but Roman masters own her body. She clings to her vow that no man shall claim her soul, though Marcus Calpurnius Aquila, son of the Roman governor, makes her yearn for a love she believes impossible.

Groomed to follow in his father’s footsteps and trapped in a politically advantageous betrothal, Aquila prefers the purity of combat on the amphitheater sands to the sinister intrigues of imperial politics, and the raw power and athletic grace of the flame-haired Libertas to the adoring deference of Rome’s noblewomen.

And at the other end it makes you happy as it will help viagra samples in canada http://amerikabulteni.com/tag/current-tv/ to be in relaxed manner for complete elimination. Overdose of this tablet must be avoided which means that it cheap prescription viagra should be taken only once in a day and go for a check-up. All the best! The heart is constantly pumping blood to the body, but it can get price of viagra 100mg quite dangerous when it has to work harder to do this. Taking extra pills does not enhance http://amerikabulteni.com/2017/02/10/tanrinin-azgin-bir-topluma-verecegi-en-buyuk-ceza/ cialis uk your sexual capability by appearing as a sexual stimulator. When a plot to overthrow Caesar ensnares them as pawns in the dark design, Aquila must choose between the Celtic slave who has won his heart and the empire to which they both owe allegiance. Trusting no man and knowing the opposite of obedience is death, the only liberty offered to any slave, Rhyddes must embrace her arena name—and the love of a man willing to sacrifice everything to forge a future with her.

Liberty opens with the sorry plight of Celtic teen Rhyddes; a Celt in a land conquered by the Romans. Though her name meant freedom, she was little more than a slave: almost a slave to her own family.

Liberty immediately seizes the reader’s attention and sympathy. Rhyddes’ Father is tough and demanding- he is with all his children. Still Rhyddes demonstrates caring and courage right off the bat. She protects brother Owen to her own cost and, farmhand though she is, we also see she’s a good fighter when need arises. She establishes her value, and we readers assume that events will transpire that allow her family to see her value, as well. We can only hope…

She proves worth more to others. Suddenly, those hard days with a pitchfork in her hands will serve her well….

Meanwhile, another character is introduced, long before their actual meeting. Marcus, who one might well imagine fared better as one of the conquerors, also suffers from parental disapproval. He’s headstrong, proud and tough, but he too has to answer for every action.

Rhyddes’ survival has given her both strength and defiance. Unalike as the two might seem, they are both strong, in their own way, but when they meet, events seem to turn against them. Indeed, circumstances must keep them apart, although we cannot but keep hoping for different circumstances!

I was troubled throughout as to why our main character started off in such disfavor with her father. Although the author leaves no string untied by the end, it seemed like a long wait to get the answer. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The setting, characters and action were all interesting and well-presented.

Ms. Headlee’s straightforward writing style is not intrusive but is descriptive. The overall plot seems distant and in truth, we see this history from just one little corner of it. This is very character-driven story with sweet moments and occasional humor. Rhyddes’ connection to and sympathy for her family members is a constant. I really liked the characters. I wouldn’t say every romance fan will love this, but if you are looking for a bit of unpredictable action with your romance, you might find Liberty just perfect.

Devi has about had it with mages. All she wants to do is her job, which is slaying the dragons and other beasts that plague the country. She doesn’t have time or energy to spare for coddling or pandering to the fussy mages she keeps getting stuck with as partners. Unfortunately, her last mage was also a noble with clout, and Devi has the feeling her days as a Combatant are numbered.

Instead of reprimand or termination however, she winds up with a new assignment and a new partner: Noeme, who is competent, friendly, distractingly attractive—and far too good to be true.

Constantly traveling for work-related reasons doesn’t leave a lot of time for a personal life. Is this about to change for Devi?

One of the things I enjoyed the most about reading this book was learning about the different types of dragons and what it takes to defeat them. The plot took the time to explain this part of Devi’s occupation in detail every time the pace slowed down enough to talk about topics other than what was happening in the moment. Her work is dangerous and unpredictable. Knowing so much about what she was trying to accomplish on her mission with Noeme only made me like both characters more.

There were a few minor pacing issues. Conflicts that I thought were going to carry on until the end were resolved much more quickly than I expected them to. Their solutions did make sense, but the transition from the old conflicts to what worried the characters later on was a little abrupt at times. With that being said, this is a minor criticism of an otherwise fun and engaging tale.

The narrator gave Noeme and Devi the opportunity to get to know each other before anything even remotely romantic began to occur. I liked seeing them interact as colleagues and friends first as it added an extra layer of meaning to later scenes. This was a smart decision. It really made me hope they’d end up together.

I’d recommend Slaying Dragons to fans of romance and historical fantasy stories alike. It blends both genres together beautifully!

The Immortal Guardians protect the innocent in secret. Sometimes the secret gets out…

U.S. law enforcement agent Heather Lane can read minds. But not the future. The dream of battle and blood that recurs every night must be a fluke, some obscure terror from her own mind. What its significance might be, she can’t guess: an attack from seven psychotic vampires at once, only separated from nightmare by an eighth very different immortal. A handsome, brave man fighting at her side, a man she misses when she wakes.

Then the dream comes true. Heather is flung into a war between predators and protectors of humanity, the man from her dreams beside her again. Except now that she’s awake, she isn’t sure she can trust Ethan, or the shadow organization he represents. The U.S. military doesn’t trust either of them. But against an onslaught of evil like the one that’s coming, it will take everything they have just to survive…

Studies show that when Sildenafil citrate is only used for 30 brand viagra minutes and no longer. icks.org buy generic viagra May experts instead of applying thrust apply a slow relaxing mobilizing movement. However, there will be substantial side effects of which you are not able to intimate with your sildenafil 100mg price mate. These medicines are known for enhancing the flow of tadalafil 20mg from india endocrines and regulating various processes of the body. Ms. Duvall is the mistress of page flipping excitement. You have no idea how many breath stealing, heart pounding, nail biting chapters fill this latest book in her Immortal Guardian series. Shadows Strike is beyond the classic ‘must read’ recommendation. It’s so much better! Each chapter created an addiction for more, and the most wonderful part of that, is that Ms. Duvall delivered and satisfied that craving. This novel rocked!

The story starts with Heather’s premonition of her meeting Ethan. Right off the bat, the author creates an unusual way for a heroine and hero to meet. It makes an indelible impression but it’s only the beginning. The revelations, the action, the worries, the fears, the determination to survive and protect, the wonder, the beauty, the sword fights, and the camaraderie that populate most chapters simply astound a reader. All those things and more provide depth and breadth to the plot and characters that are on stage. Shadows Strike is a big book, a busy book but time ceases to have meaning when a reader is immersed is this extremely well written and awesome novel. Please give yourself plenty of time to sit and enjoy because if you’re anything like me, you won’t want to stop; you won’t be able to, it’s that remarkable.

I honestly have no negatives to convey. This book is perfect. The dialogue, the descriptions and most of all, the surprises, totally and completely worked. Not all the surprises were good, some were downright deadly. Some took the main characters completely unaware and they fought for their lives, more than once. One completely floored me and greatly affected Heather and her relationship to Ethan. I never saw it coming.

The most adorable moments came from a tiny baby. I simply adored those scenes because Adira was the bright spot that brought charm and levity in an otherwise serious story. Her little character showed that no matter how gruff, tough and deadly the immortals are, they are also capable of tenderness, affection, gentleness and love and it was proved every time they held her, or protected her. For such a wee thing, she had a strong presence.

Heather and Ethan as a couple are wonderful together. I enjoyed their dynamics, their dialogue and how they fell in love. When they finally succumb to their physical passions, it was hot, delightful and well written. I was very happy to see Ethan finally in love.

Secondary characters abound and most are from the previous books. I’m really feeling sad for Aiden. I hope he gets his happy ever after soon. He’s such a good guy, he deserves it. Then again, so does Seth. But what kind of woman would be his equal? I hope someday to find out. As it is, every single character, including Zach and Lisette, play pivotal supporting roles that help support and foster Ethan and Heather’s growing relationship.

Shadows Strike proves once again that Ms. Duvall is a masterful storyteller. Its drama and suspense kept me on edge but the romance made me melt. I can’t get enough of this world that Ms. Duvall has created. When I am reading her books, I feel like I’m right there, and it’s exactly where I want to be.

On Pride morning, bookish and reserved Rachel musters the courage to talk to her barista crush, only to discover she’s not alone in her desires.

Where does an introverted bookish dyke hang out on Pride morning? Her local LGBTQ bookstore, of course. While helping to put together the store’s annual float for the parade, Rachel reveals that she has a crush on the barista at the coffee shop next door.

The bookstore gang encourages Rachel to step out of her comfort zone and talk to the barista, even though Rachel is convinced she must have a boyfriend. Much to her surprise, the girl flirts with her and even shows up at the bookstore on her coffee break, where she introduces herself as Mavis. In spite of her shyness, Rachel lays bare that she has had a crush on Mavis for some time and Mavis—to everyone’s surprise—wants to know what Rachel is doing after the parade.
Usually, companies manufacturing products like Neogra oral jelly have to do intensive promotion viagra in uk to make people aware about the Neogra oral jelly, its uses and benefits, how people can be cured. Beside herself with disbelief, Rachel skips through the parade. She is so unsure of herself and the new connection with Mavis and she’s convinced that Mavis is straight. When Mavis confesses she has never been with a woman, Rachel must face her worst fear—that she was right. But it doesn’t take long for Mavis to convince Rachel that she’s up for a new experience.

Rachel doesn’t want to be an experiment and she has a hard time trusting that Mavis wants more than just a bit of fun on Pride. Can she take the leap of faith so necessary in taking their connection to the next level?

Eventually somebody has to make the first move. Will Rachel regret being the one to do it?

The dialogue made me grin. It was written so realistically that at times I felt as though I was eavesdropping on someone else’s conversation instead of reading a book. I especially liked how smoothly Ms. Moon transitioned from the characters having a conversation to describing the settings they were in or what they were planning to do next. These sections were very nicely done.

It would have been helpful to have more details about Rachel’s personality. The way it was described in the beginning of this story didn’t always match up with how she behaved. I would have liked to know why this difference existed and whether or not Rachel realized it was there. She was a very appealing character to me. It was simply difficult to understand why she made certain decisions that seemed to conflict with her temperament.

Rachel and Mavis had an incredible amount of chemistry that didn’t waste any time showing up in the storyline. It was fun to see the first sparks fly between them so quickly! I really liked seeing how they interacted because of how well they got along with each other. They seemed to have a lot in common, too, which only made me root for them to end up together even more.

A Kiss is a Kiss is a Kiss is a good choice for anyone who is in the mood for something sexy and romantic.

In this very satisfying sequel to The Richebourg Affair,  R.M Cartmel again brings main character Commander Truchard to his home town of Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Logical, likeable Truchard is an old-style detective. He gathers facts, searches, interviews; and best of all, reveals his process along the way.

It starts with a missing tourist; hardly a dark or sinister case. Truchard might find the case petty–along with some other minor crimes–but things ratchet up rather rapidly. In the midst of investigation, he also must cope with pressing family matters, and a very legitimate concern about his ‘real’ job back in Paris. various things seem to conspire to hinder investigation, from language issues to the intrusion of his personal life. Still, he approaches untangling the crime with tenacity.

The mystery is at once unpredictable and believable. It was, however, the very revealing details about Truchard himself, and his family, that really piqued my interest.

The village and vineyards provide a charming and familiar backdrop. The discussion and knowledge of winemaking, the patience, dedication and importance of it, both to those in the profession and those just in the area. Wine; making, understanding, enjoying/quality seems to unite the various inhabitants of the village. Characters, from the young constable to an array of others all are well developed, and Lenoir is even amusing.

R.M Cartmel, and more importantly, his detective, Truchard, have stepped firmly into the ranks of Hercule Poirot, Richard Jury and Roderick Allyn. Mystery fans absolutely must read…and if you aren’t a mystery fan, Cartmel might well convince you. He is a skilled writer and this latest is easily the match of his first. I for one cannot wait for the next.

Machines of the Little PeopleBen Harris’s sister died of cervical cancer more than three years ago… his best friend and her husband, Roger Keswick, disappeared the day before the funeral. For the next six months everyone from the local police to the Department of Defense searched for him but to no avail… it was as if he had simply fallen off the face of the planet only to reappear at work as if nothing were out of the ordinary.

Then by the purest of coincidences Ben finds himself pulled back into Roger’s life only to discover he has remarried… to Jessica… a woman the looks, sounds and acts just like his dead sister. To complicate things Roger is insistent his home, his car, his life is infested with tiny elf like creatures he calls the Katoy. He claims they run massive machines under his house and watch his every move… every move that is until Jessica is found bludgeoned to death in his living room and Roger is nowhere to found . . . again.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: I was raised pretty much the same as everyone else… devoted mother, strict father and all the imaginary friends I could conjure. Not that I wasn’t friendly, I just wasn’t ʺpeople orientatedʺ. Maybe I lived in my head way more than I should have, maybe not. I liked machines more than people, at least I did until I met my wife.

The first thing I can remember writing was for her. For the life of me I can’t remember what it was about… something about dust bunnies under the bed and monsters in my closet. It must have been pretty good because she married me shortly after that. I spent a good number of years after inventing games and prototypes for a variety of ideas before I got back to writing.

It wasn’t a deliberate conscious thought it was more of a stepping stone. My wife and I had joined a dream interpret group and we were encouraged to write down our dreams as they occurred. ʺBe as detailed as you can,ʺ we were told.

I was thrilled. If there is one thing I enjoy it’s making people believe me and I like to exaggerate. Not a big exaggeration or an outright lie mine you, just a little step out of sync, just enough so you couldn’t be sure if it were true or not. When I write, I always write with the effort of ʺit could happenʺ very much in mind and nothing, I guarantee you, nothing, makes me happier.

How can I sum up Shadows of Doubt? Actually, I don’t think I can. When I read the synopsis I thought it was going to be a paranormal story but then as I began reading it, I guessed I’d been wrong but then…

Well, I won’t give away the plot because that would ruin it for you. Let me just say if you like your mysteries, especially police procedurals, on the gritty side then you’ll love this book. Half way through there is a great surprise and can I just say, if you do like paranormal books, then you’ll probably enjoy the reveal that I didn’t see coming.

I liked the main character Lou, she’s tough, sometimes funny and has that I’m not giving up attitude. The other characters were all fun too, especially Caroline who she teams up with.

One thing I really liked about this story was as you asked more questions while you were reading, more doors opened to the possibility that things might not be as they appeared. It’s certainly a page turner and don’t be put off by the 427 pages. During the second half of the book when you uncover something juicy, you’ll find yourself racing through the book.

The setting was also perfect for the book, almost like another layer on a well baked cake. This is the first in the series featuring Lou, I have another one to read and review, and I’m looking forward to seeing where her next adventures take her.

For fans of gritty mysteries with a healthy dose of the paranormal, I think this might be a good pick for you.

Are the authorities going to be able to apprehend the culprit before Toby decides the best course of action is to remove himself from the equation?

Toby is recovering from a shot shoulder. As an artist, a sculptor, the thought he mightn’t be able to work had driven him crazy. So he’s rushed back to his art, pushing himself hard but is really pleased to find he’d not lost the edge of his talent. Toby is desperately in love with Damon and grateful for the man’s presence, Damon keeps him from pushing himself too hard. But the threat from an unknown hater is weighing on them both. Can they work through this bump in their lives?

This is the third book in the Beer and Clay series, and while I feel it can be read as a stand alone book, I definitely think readers will get more out of it if they’ve read the first two stories first (“Malting” is book 1, and “Milling” is book 2). This book had a lot more detail about Damon’s friend Pete, and Pete’s lover, Christian. I was really excited about this, as we were somewhat introduced to Christian in Milling and it’s clear the man has quite the background and story to tell. There’s also quite a bit more mystery in this book than the previous two. Toby and Damon’s “stalker” is a far more prominent plot point and I really enjoyed seeing this aspect of their story come more into the foreground.

I felt this book had something for everyone – a really solid, sexy hot M/M relationship, good friends and strong secondary characters coming into their own, and a mystery plot really blossoming and coming into fruition. While not all the plots were wrapped up neatly – clearly there is at least another story in the series – I felt there was definite progression in the overall story arc and I enjoyed the strong steps forward both Toby and Damon (and Peter and Christian) made.

This is a hot, sexy read with a fair bit of kink and a well-established, loving couple as the main protagonists. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next installment. Recommended.
