Eve trusts the large handsome man that made her feel special. When she finds out the type of relationship he wants with her, can she find the courage to give him all that she is and trust him to take care of her?
Eve has been isolated by her abusive father – taken out of school, no friends allowed, even her mother has died. She knows of no other way to be and her father tells her all the time that she wouldn’t be wanted anyway as the devil lives inside her.
This is the fourth book in the Daddy’s series and we get to see a lot of Larkin and Brylee as they were friends with Eve in high school. Gage and Darian are on hand to help Patrick out with the organisation of Eve’s rescue and care.
Although still a novella, I found this one to be better rounded-out than the previous stories. I really felt for Eve and her situation and am happy that she has found her HEA. This is the best in the series so far, in my opinion, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Oh my gosh I’m so late to the party! Apparently there are twenty-two books in the Deerbourne Inn series, written by all different authors. Apparently a reader doesn’t need to read them in order. I’ve never read a Charlotte O’Shay book but I think she did a fine job!
I’m the lucky reviewer to have read book eight, Forever in a Moment, and can I say “Wow!”. I’m so sad it’s over. It was the fastest one hundred and thirty eight pages I’ve ever read.
The hero, Jed, was “all that” and more. The book started off right away with him rescuing the heroine, Sam. I loved the quick start that just kept on flowing like the snow falling in the snow storms described in the story.
It wasn’t your typical busy city woman falling for a country farm boy with the conflict of will she stay in the country or will he follow her to the city because it wasn’t a typical farm setting. The setting was remarkable yet indescribable. You’ll need to read the book for yourself. In fact I’m curious to read some more books from the Deerbourne Inn series.
As far as the relationship between Sam and Jed, it was quite entertaining. She’s a proud successful Italian city woman and Jed is a well-loved small town citizen. The writing style contained humor, chemistry and honesty between the couple which made them relatable and lovable.
There was an epilogue which I always appreciate when I’m reading a romance. It’s like getting dessert after eating a delicious meal.
I don’t have any reservations about recommending this book at all. I’m excited to explore some of the other books in this series. I would encourage others to explore this book and series as well.

“If you hadn’t been there, I could have handled things just fine on my own. I probably wouldn’t have even been shot,” Robin said defiantly. She was sitting upright in her bed now, the covers she had tucked so modestly under her arms long ago forgotten in the blaze of her anger. The well-worn fabric clung to the sweet swell of her breasts.
As he stared at her, his awareness of her as a woman came rushing back in a dangerous tide. Lord, Robin Matthews was pretty when she was in a temper. Her cheeks were flushed with color and her green eyes sparked fire. With that golden braid of hair falling over her shoulder, she looked soft and feminine and far too delectable for his peace of mind. He was painfully aware that he was alone with her in her bedroom, and that she was wearing just a nightgown and not much else. He remembered how good and soft she’d felt while he carried her home, and he could still remember clearly the way her hair had smelled of roses and lavender.
A part of him wanted to take her into his arms, sink back with her into that featherbed, and make her forget all about her precious ranch. He knew she wasn’t indifferent to him. He saw the small looks she slanted his way when she thought he wasn’t aware. It would be good between them. He’d help her turn some of that passion she felt for her ranch toward loving, and it would be better than good.
About the Author:Anna DeForest wrote her first book-length piece of fiction in fifth grade. She taught history at the Colorado Heritage Center and a Denver private school. She was thrilled when Leisure Books bought her first historical romance, Golden Dreams. She was actually watching Sesame Street with her four-year-old when she received the good news call from her agent, but she managed to tear herself away from Big Bird long enough to listen to the terms of her new contract.
Growing up in Colorado gave Anna a lifelong taste for outdoor activities such as hiking, riding and skiing. She also enjoys gardening, which is currently quite a challenge because armadillos keep rooting around in her garden in Dallas.
Anna has always tried to write the kind of romances she likes to read—stories about warm, caring people who pursue their lives and loves with passion. These days, Anna is excited about offering four of her previously published romances to her new readers, along with three romances that have never been published before. Thomas has been taken. Kern is incapacitated, Arcas is missing. That leaves the rescue mission to Bran and Caille.
Oh my! What a novella. This is small but mighty and certainly packs a punch. The attraction between Caille and Bran leaps off the page but they never forget just what the priority is. I loved Bran’s backstory and how he was annoyed at how his story had twisted and changed throughout the years. Caille is the very definition of a strong independent woman and it was great to see Bran recognise that and leave her to it when needed.
This ends on another cliffhanger but now I really, REALLY, want Arcas’ story. I know he’s going to be with Marshall and I can’t wait. Sparks are going to fly. Not only that but I need Thomas to be safe.
Such a great series and definitely one I am loving. Absolutely recommended by me.

Brink is a Dom and unashamed of his sexual needs and desires. Will Mary Ann regret her eagerness to welcome their new neighbor onto their street?
I found this to be an interesting short story. The writing style is different to most stories I am used to – quite sparse and succinct. While I often enjoy this style for gritty or noir mystery stories – the lack of description and short, punchy style of writing really lends a tense, terse sort of atmosphere perfect for harder types of mystery or detective stories – I’m not sure this writing style is really suited for romance stories, even erotic ones. With so little detail and a snappy, very bare sort of “voice” it was quite difficult for me to get a good feel for Mary Ann and her personality. While as the reader I certainly knew the basics – she was a mother really feeling her empty nest and searching for a new path in her life – I didn’t get a good understanding of her character until quite a long way into the short story.
Readers looking for a slightly grittier and short story written very leanly should find this writing style suits their tastes. I also feel those looking for a more romantic or softer style of story might not find what they need here. Mary Ann is mostly happily married and indeed remains with her husband – her deal with Brink is quite clear and only to train her in the lifestyle of a part-time submissive. This isn’t an affair of the heart, and in many ways their relationship isn’t considered cheating to either Mary Ann or Brink. While they are physically and sexually intimate Mary Ann and Brink have a clear contract outlining their sessions and what is and isn’t acceptable and what they each wish to achieve with the other.
There are also a few scenes between Brink and his main submissive, Mimi. I feel only readers who enjoy harder edged – more erotic rather than romantic – stories will enjoy the scenes of Mimi pushing her relationship boundaries with Brink and the resulting punishment. I found the harder edge of these scenes coupled with the lean writing style really made this story more a piece of short erotica and not really romantic or sensual. It was hard for me to feel the emotional ties and feelings connecting the main characters to each other and so I feel this story won’t be to everyone’s tastes.
Those looking for something edgier or different from the usual short story should certainly give this a try. While I don’t feel it will be suitable for all readers it was a good, fresh and different read.

Surprised by the gesture and quick service, he thanked the man and planned to make his way to a cab stand when he heard someone say, “Over here, Wilde child.” Leaning against her chauffeured Bentley and thumbing through her iPhone, Simon looked up to see Veronica Henderson Wilde. “Hi, Mom. This is a surprise. How did you know I was coming home today?” Her ever-faithful driver, Mr. Harrell, took his duffle and put it in the trunk.
“I’m your mother. I’m omniscient. I know everything.” Opening the rear car door for him she trailed him into the car and once seated said, “Someone saw you running like a track star through the airport in Niamey, Niger, and noted which flight you were on. Your father would be spastic and apoplectic if you gave an interview to a competitor before he has an opportunity to have you interviewed on one of his Sunday magazine talk shows. I dearly love your father, but at the moment, I want to continue to have a good sexual relationship with him. If he’s paroxysmal, sex with him might be problematic. Coming of age in a culture that demands women be as small, quiet, and compliant as possible — like a porcelain dove that will also have sex with you — writer and humorist Lindy West quickly discovered that she was anything but.
From a painfully shy childhood in which she tried, unsuccessfully, to hide her big body and even bigger opinions; to her public war with stand-up comedians over rape jokes; to her struggle to convince herself, and then the world, that fat people have value; to her accidental activism and never-ending battle royale with Internet trolls, Lindy narrates her life with a blend of humor and pathos that manages to make a trip to the abortion clinic funny and wring tears out of a story about diarrhea.

With inimitable good humor, vulnerability, and boundless charm, Lindy boldly shares how to survive in a world where not all stories are created equal and not all bodies are treated with equal respect, and how to weather hatred, loneliness, harassment, and loss, and walk away laughing. Shrill provocatively dissects what it means to become self-aware the hard way, to go from wanting to be silent and invisible to earning a living defending the silenced in all caps.
There is beauty in pain and healing. There is beauty in blunt honesty. This book has all three and so much more.
Lindy West is a big girl. She makes no bones about the fact she’s not small and will never will be. I liked her blunt honesty. It was nice to read a book where the heroine isn’t apologizing for being big. She’s just herself. The writing flowed well and kept my interest. I wanted to keep reading even when I had other things that needed to be done.
Now be warned, there is a section on rape and rape jokes. This won’t be for everyone. It won’t be. But she’s explaining her view and her thoughts. Comedy and jokes are in the eye of the beholder. She simply holds up the mirror to what some of us think is normal and whatever and to what other of us think are just wrong. I liked that she was willing to discuss the difference.
This book had funny moments, too–like when she’s talking about trying to fit in the airplane seats–not that she can’t fit, but the struggle being real and how she deals with it. There are moments that are just gut-wrenching–like when she defends herself against those who feel rape jokes are funny and should be told. She tries to get those finding the humor to see another side of the argument. Unfortunately, she ends up being the victim of internet trolls. I like how it empowered her. Many of us have been trolled and some want to hide. She doesn’t. She doesn’t take each one head-on, but she doesn’t let them win, either. It was refreshing, while being sad, too.
If you’re looking for a very meta book, then this might be the one for you.

She unexpectedly meets Dylan though and everything shifts.
I found this to be an interesting short story and while the paranormal aspects of the world were fairly standard I really enjoyed how Taelyn’s story was somewhat different and refreshing. I personally haven’t read too many stories where a shifter main character has effectively been adopted in and accepted by a non-shifter wolf pack. I found this dynamic to be quite interested and especially in this story I found it to be well written.
The sex scenes were intimate and definitely explicit. I feel readers used to erotic stories should find them enjoyable and satisfying. While the sex is prolific and occurs fairly quickly the author made it seem quite understandable give than Taelyn could certainly feel the mate-bond even though she wanted to give herself time before committing her emotions. Sharing her body was a lot easier than trusting or allowing herself to begin to love Dylan.
While the author did alternate the perspectives between Dylan and Taelyn I personally found it a little harder to connect with Dylan, even though we did get to see things from his perspective as well. I just feel his character was possibly a little more cookie-cutter than Taelyn and so while I liked and enjoyed him I struggled to find something solid to really feel a strong connection to him. This niggle eased a lot for me when we were shown Dylan interacting with his Alpha and later his pack but it took me a little longer than I was expecting to really feel a connection and attachment to him.
With a sexy pace and a really interesting plot I enjoyed this steamy paranormal story. A good, quick read.
