While visiting a young woman—who was not so fortunate as Miss Georgiana Darcy in escaping the persuasions of a rogue—Georgiana meets Sir Camden Sutton, whose reputation causes Georgiana to wonder as to his motives. Her wondering soon turns to a different feeling when Sir Camden comes to stay at Pemberley, showing himself to be a very different man than was rumored. While Sir Camden struggles with his past and his commitment to his future, as well as the ill intentions of haughty Caroline Bingley, Miss Darcy must decide whether to listen to others, or the words written on her heart.

Georgiana made a mistake in the past by nearly falling prey to Wickham’s advances. The experience definitely left a mark on Georgiana, and she is determined not to make the same mistake again. Georgiana could have let anger and bitterness consume her, but Georgiana has chosen a different path. She isn’t actively seeking out romance, but I like that she hasn’t closed herself off from the possibility of falling in love either. What makes Georgiana even more likable is the fact that she cares deeply for all her friends and family. Her concern for Lizzy and her unborn child is particularly touching.

When Sir Camden enters her life, Georgiana is understandably skeptical. His reputation is definitely tarnished. However, I am pleased to note that Georgiana is a smart woman who thinks for herself. She doesn’t blindly accept gossip. She gives Camden a chance to prove what kind of man he is before making up her mind about him.

Ms. Williams paced the relationship between Georgiana and Camden very well. Camden and Georgiana first became friends, but it wasn’t long until they found themselves falling in love. Their interactions always felt very natural and relaxed, even with Georgiana’s protective big brother, Mr. Darcy, scowling at them on occasion.

I do think that the problem involving Caroline Bingley was resolved too quickly. Caroline certainly has the potential to cause a lot of problems for Camden and Georgiana, but the whole thing was resolved in just a few paragraphs. If that complication had been teased out a bit more, it would have added just a dash of suspense to the tale.

I truly enjoyed reading Miss Darcy Decides. Georgiana is a lovely young woman, and she and Camden make a great couple. It was a pleasure watching their romance bloom. Fans of sweet historical romance should certainly give Miss Darcy Decides a try.

But disaster steals their night, and A Purrfect Home may already be lost. Will Carlita be the one person who can help Abigail save everything she’s worked so hard for?

It can be really difficult to step out of your comfort zone, but sometimes that’s the only way to move forward.

Some people are effortlessly suave and charming when they meet someone new. Neither Carlita nor Abigail is one of them, though, and the awkwardness between them only intensifies when they’re left alone together in the Lover’s Suite. Given the circumstances of their introduction, their first reactions are as believable as they are revealing of each woman’s personality.

With that being said, I would have liked to see a little more time for a transition between their initial awkwardness and everything that comes later. This is a minor criticism, but I did momentarily wonder what was happening during this scene.

I really enjoyed the plot twist that happens later on. It wasn’t necessarily something I was expecting to see happen, but once I reread it I picked up on a few clues that Ms. Starke had indeed tucked into earlier scenes. The events at the end were a big part of what earned this story such a good rating. It’s been added to the list of books I’d consider recommending to someone who was brand new to this genre.

The chemistry between Carlita and Abigail was picture perfect. A tale of this length doesn’t leave a great deal of room to explore the characters’ backstories, but I felt like I got to know both of these ladies pretty well based on what was revealed about their earlier lives. They share so much in common that it was easy to see why the sparks fly between them so soon.

Rescue Me is just what the veterinarian ordered for anyone in the mood for something short and sexy. Why not give it a try today?

I have waited a long time for this one. At last comes Mating Brand, the long awaited third book in Laurann Dohner’s Mating Heat series. I must say that it was well worth the wait.

Brand is finally reunited with Charma in this book. Devoted readers will remember the lost love that he revealed to his cousins in the previous book. Curiosity had me anxious about what happened to tear them apart. Dohner didn’t keep me in the dark long. It was extenuating circumstances that led to their long seperation. Poor Charma. She can’t turn away again so she burns her bridges and rushes to warn her love of impending danger.

I loved Brand and Charma together. I felt the story started off strong and kept up the intensity right up until the end. Brand was a hot alpha hero who didn’t waste any time claiming his mate this time around. They make up for lost time in the bedroom too. There was a great deal of conflict in the story because they are supposed to be natural enemies. The plot was riveting with plenty of action when the big pussies attack and lives are in danger. Okay !!! I couldn’t help myself. *grin* It was well developed with family bonds and Pack dynamics being explored. All the characters were intriguing and, and yes, I need to read everyone’s story. Especially Rave and Von.

It was no surprise to me that this book was very well written. It was put together quite nicely with a solid plot while at the same time being deliciously dirty. It was an engaging and fast paced read. I read it in one sitting because I didn’t want to put it down. Now, I’m really hoping there will be more books in the series, and that I won’t have to wait so long for the next one.

I happily recommend this book. It’s a great erotic paranormal romance.

A witch’s curse from beyond the grave!

Witch Island used to be feared. Even the bravest would not dare go there. Legend said a witch had been burned alive at the stake, and upon her death she cursed the town. Terrified residents performed rituals to keep her spirit trapped on the island where she was buried.

Now, over a hundred years later, a group of high school seniors have decided to forgo the local graduation parties and have a small gathering of their own—on Witch Island. They don’t fear the legends. They scoff at them. But the group will soon learn these particular legends are nothing to scoff at. And Witch Island will prove far worse than they could have ever imagined.

Every community has its share of local legends. Some of them are true while others have been so blown out of proportion over the years that it’s nearly impossible to know if anything they claim actually happened. Of course Witch Island must be one of those tall tales. Or is it?

At first I was surprised by how much time Mr. Bernstein spent introducing all of the characters and explaining how the legend of Witch Island began. Many horror novels leap into the action almost immediately. Once the plot thickened, though, I appreciated all of the information that had been provided about the identity of the witch and the types of people who were about to visit her island. It was easier to keep track of such a large cast of characters given how much I knew about what their lives had been like before they decided to camp out in such a haunted place.

While all of the main characters had well-developed backstories, I would have liked to get to know their personalities better. Their childhood experiences were interesting, but for most of them I never quite found the connection between those memories and their current behavior. This is a strongly plot-based tale, so I wouldn’t expect it to spend as much time on character development as it did on pushing forward to the next scene. It still would have been helpful to have a better sense of who works well under pressure or has a tendency to be too trusting though.

The horror elements of this story take a while to show up, but once they do they’re much stronger than the science fiction elements. There are some genuinely frightening scenes in here that I’m very glad I didn’t try to read after dark or while on a camping trip. It certainly would have been scary to encounter those scenes while listening to all of the unfamiliar nighttime calls in the woods, but I don’t think I would have gotten any sleep had I tried to do that!

I’d recommend Witch Island to anyone who is a fan of the gorier side of these genres. It is full of the viscerally terrifying kinds of scenes that work so well in this kind of horror.

Sexy with a capital S.

I like reading books by new to me authors. Dawn Ryder was one of those authors, but she’s not new to me any longer. Out of Bounds is a hot novel, packed with steam and excitement.

Most of the book flowed well, but there were moments where the transitions between the chapters weren’t smooth. I filled in the blanks in my mind as to what the author meant, but I think a little more detail and polish would go a long way.

That said, there are some great characters in this book. Sabra knows what she wants and is fully out to get it. I liked her confidence. It made me root for her.

Tarak is an alpha and very sexy. The only thing about him is he’s a tad more arrogant than alpha, but it worked for him. He needed to be in control. I could respect him, even if there were times I didn’t like him.

The only other thing was the ending. I’m not giving anything away, but I had to go back and reread a few times to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. It went by a tad fast. Still, I’m glad I read this book. It’s guaranteed to bring the heat.

If you want a book that’s white hot and interesting, then this might be the book for you.

The Jarheads back in a new adventure–a journey through sickness and health with Rock, Rig and Dick, who stand by their man come what may, no matter what they come down with. Colds and flu are no match for the Jarheads, who know that cold medicine’s great in its place, but the one sure cure for what ails them is good old sexual healing.

Even the flu can’t stop these randy boys. Sean Michael’s super popular Jarheads are back in this re-released novella featuring Rock, Rig, and Dick as they screw their way to happiness whether sick or perfectly well. The men are as happy and healthy as ever to start and their sex life has never been better. Then Rock and Dick go down with the flu, leaving Rig with two very grouchy and unhappy ex-marines. Just when they get over the bug, Rig comes down with it himself but the tender mercies of his two men will have Rig fighting for some loving soon enough.

In Sickness and In Health is a re-released story that originally appeared in the Bedside Manner anthology from 2009. I chose it because I have a real soft spot for the Jarheads series and wanted to revisit the trio, but realized when reading the novella that I had read it before. That doesn’t really matter because anyone who’s a fan of the series knows how these stories go. They’re remarkably similar, but any of the shorter stories and novellas are basically all porn with changing configurations of who sucks, who fucks, and who jacks off. The bigger novels actually have a little bit of plot but these shorter stories are entirely sex scenes. In Sickness and In Health is no different.

The story starts and ends with sex and there is little attempt at a plot or storyline. These are just slice of life, or sex, scenes featuring the men with repetitive dialogue and commentary. There are one or two scenes that don’t include sex when the men are sick with the flu and these scenes are kind of why I continue to read the porn heavy Jarheads series. The men are sweet with each other and emotional in a very grunt-orientated way of communicating. There is emotion, but never overly saccharine. The best way to describe these short additions is heartwarming. It’s always nice to see these three men together, although I’m partial to Rock and Rig scenes alone.

Honestly this is not great writing. The scenes are repetitious and the dialogue consists of the same words over and over with a chorus of sex sounds. Surprisingly amongst that little writing there are numerous typos. But really this is classic Sean Michael writing so fans of the author will know what they’re getting. It’s a nice revisit of the Jarhead series and characters because it’s exactly like all the other books with a little bit of emotion and the rest are porn sex scenes. So if you’re in the mood for that, which I was, enjoy it.

In “A Stranger Brought” by Emily Moreton, Tia and Kelly’s happy ending is challenged by Kelly’s father, Tia’s lack of magic, and a deal that will either save or doom both of them. In “Annabeth and the Wolf” by Jo Hart, Annabeth sets off to her grandmother’s house to meet an unwanted fate, but a beautiful shape shifter has other ideas in mind. And in “Dragon Slayer” by Lucy Hallowell, Princess Una must marry the knight who slays the dragon, though her heart belongs to her maid, Bess.

Happy endings aren’t guaranteed to anyone, but that doesn’t stop these characters from trying to improve their odds of finding such a thing.

The premise of “Dragon Slayer” kept me glued to its plot from beginning to end. There’s something very sad about lovers being separated against their will, and this take on that idea was compelling. Bess and Una’s complementary personalities and tight bond only made me root for them even more. They know one another so well that most of their communication happens without either one of the them actually needing to say what they want out loud.

I wasn’t quite sure what was happening in “A Stranger Brought In” at first. Tia and Kelly’s relationship blossoms so quickly that there wasn’t much time to get to know them as individuals. It almost as if this tale was a sequel to an earlier story instead of something meant to stand on its own. With that being said, the ending explained all of my questions and I was pleased with how everything was tied together.

The first-person perspective in “Annabeth and the Wolf” made me feel as though I were also walking through the woods. Annabeth is by far the most well-rounded character in this collection. I was especially amused by her snarky response to the pressure her grandmother was putting on her to find a husband. The chemistry between her and Selene is also not to be missed.

Fairy tales were originally intended to speak to an adult audience. Torqued Tales F/F Anthology returns to this time-honored tradition with three stories that are as hot as they are magical.

Everyone deserves another chance at redemption, but that doesn’t mean they’ll necessarily get one.

My favorite kind of horror story is the one that sneaks up on the reader. At first glance, this tale appears to be about a sick, old man who sounds like he might be mentally ill. Figuring out what’s going on with him was a challenge given how often the plot jumps from one decade to the next. What was even more interesting was listening to William argue with himself about the nature of various supernatural beings. It wasn’t a discussion I was expecting to find in this kind of tale, but it did raise some fascinating questions.

As the plot progresses, more details emerge about the truly horrific choices William made as an adult. Given how severely he repeatedly chose to hurt others, I had a hard time understanding why his conscience was suddenly so tender. It’s one thing to regret a handful of mistakes, but his old age and poor health aren’t enough explain the extreme personality changes that that character undergoes in the beginning of this novella.

The well-written ending packed a few punches. I figured out some of the twists ahead of time, but it was interesting to see which ones caught me by surprise. Mr. Presley has a smooth writing style that is well-suited to the horror genre in particular. It was easy to get lulled into a crisp, clean description of one of the character’s backstories only for the author to jerk me back into William’s current predicament with yet another surprise.

I’d recommend A Letter from Hell to anyone who is a fan of classic horror.

But what doesn’t show on his gorgeous abs are secrets and lies that dominate his very grown-up world. Now Jaz has to figure out just how far she is willing to go to know more. Could Ryan really be offering the life-fulfilling life path she’s always dreamed of?

If I have to make a subtitle for this book it will be: How Jasmine Thomas became a MTG agent and fell in love in the process. Because, this is what The Recruit is about.

Jasmine (Jaz) Thomas is a seventeen-year-old tomboy. She likes to spend her time in the gym or at the shooting range, and she also has some other skills that make her a perfect candidate for an agent. Because of that, Ryan Fletcher approached her and asked her to become a recruit for the MTG agency.

The Recruit is a great story. It has the right amount of action, romance, friendship and teenage drama. It is supposed to be a fast paced story, but unfortunately there are a few chapters that slowed it down a bit. Also, it would be a more perfect story if it was deprived of predictability and clichés. But on the other hand, the romance part of the story is crafted magnificently. The chemistry between Jasmin (Jaz) and Ryan is palpable and it made my heart beat faster. I am sure that the fact that their love is forbidden, due to many reasons, made their romance even more interesting and exciting, for me. The story does not have cliffhanger, but it is obvious that there will be at least one more sequel. Some secrets have to be revealed and Jaz and Ryan’s relationship is far from reaching HEA. I also hope that Ms. Palmer will dedicate at least one story in the series (even the short one) to Taylor and Anna.

I enjoyed reading The Recruit tremendously. Regardless of above mentioned flaws it is a good, interesting and entertaining story. Therefore if you love good romance with a pinch of thriller this is a story for you. I am looking forward to the second installment in the series. But, also I am adding other Ms. Palmer’s novels to my TBR pile.

But when the MC has to go on a run out of state to help another charter, Brick is forced to leave Darra behind. A club rival decides the time for retaliation toward the Grizzlies has come. But Darra is Brick’s and anyone that hurts her is as good as dead.

I am crazy for this series! The Outlaw’s Dirty Dancer is the second book in the Grizzlies MC series. It is yet another great read from Jenika Snow. This book is set within a thrilling world of bad ass bikers who happen to be shifters. That’s a winning combination for me, and let me tell you that I loved it.

There’s just something about a bad boy that makes me hot. I knew I was going to love Brick and I sure wasn’t wrong about that. as they come. He had a darkness inside him that had him wanting to run in the other direction as soon as he recognized that Darra was his mate. At first he felt that was the only way to protect her from his dark desires and from the danger their relationship would bring. Yet he already felt possessive of his woman and he couldn’t stay away.

Now, I’ve read quite a few of Jenika Snow’s books and there are a few things that I have come to expect. Number one would be the amazing sex scenes that were apenty in this book. Ohh La La !!! That Brick was one sexy, dirty talking bear. He was completely dominant in bed and it’s no big surprise that Darra loved it. They had a great connection that felt right to me. The second thing I had anticipated was that there would be some suspense thrown in to keep me on the edge. This author doesn’t disappoint as the danger inevitably found Darra just like Brick feared it would. The third thing that I expected was that the writing would be pretty much flawless. Again Jenika Snow never lets me down. It’s one of the reasons why I enjoy her books so much.

This was a very well written and satisfying read. It was fun to read, so I read it in one sitting. Fortunately for me there’s more fun to be had with an exciting cast of characters left to explore. Now I am ready for the next book in the series !
