C.J. Silver is eager to help the new she-wolves in town renovate the old hotel in time for the holidays, especially if it means spending time under the mistletoe with the alluring Laurel MacTire.

The bustle in the long abandoned hotel attracts the attention of human ghosthunters out to prove the place haunted, but the bigger problem is keeping them from discovering the werewolves in Silver Town. CJ and Laurel have to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Working together is a surprisingly hot holiday treat for two attractive and clever wolf shifters.

There’s nothing better than a haunted holiday, wolfie style, and A Silver Wolf Christmas not only promises some spooky shenanigans and a romance but the solving of a decades old mystery. I enjoyed the journey.
This exercise may even help men who have premature ejaculation generic viagra online or you cannot rise to the occasion. Regular usage of Lady Care capsule is sans prescription viagra help to prevent the condition.
For the most part, this is a character driven story with Laurel and CJ’s budding romance on center stage. The author goes into a little bit of history as to why the heroine and her sisters are in town, and it also touches on the fact that CJ and his brothers are newly re-established in the town and are finally fitting back in. There is a strong sense of community which is accomplished through the varied secondary characters that populate the town. Ms. Spear took the time to describe the town, some of its traditions and some of its challenges. Like a lot of small hamlets, they struggle to stay afloat financially and have to come up with unique events to liven things up. Nothing makes a celebration easier than a holiday and Christmas is the perfect backdrop for some magic and romance. I adored the snowman making contest.

I enjoyed how Laurel and CJ ended up taking turns pursuing each other. The novel is told through both their points of view so I could get a sense as to what motivated them in their quest to connect. It’s hesitant at first but soon sparks fly, libidos are inflamed and readers get to see how good CJ and Laurel are together.

The mystery comes with a twist. It’s not as clear cut as I originally thought. In addition, the bad guys end up being a huge surprise and the revelation stunned me. I really like that Ms. Spear could pull the wool over my eyes so efficiently.

Most of this book worked for me. The only fly in the ointment was when the eldest villain’s words and actions at one point didn’t make sense. When he capitulated so completely right after he was snarly and vindictive and mean and then turned into a sappy Hallmark Moment made me think that an emotional step between point A and B was skipped. It happened too fast for me to believe, even for a possible Christmastime miracle. I still believe he’s a jerk and not to be trusted.

This is a very emotional book on many levels. Laurel and her sisters find out some shocking news, CJ and his brothers discover something even more disturbing about their late father, and through it all, Laurel and CJ have to reconcile what all the external conflicts might do to their growing love for each other. There are a lot of fears, doubts and worries but both protagonists are strong, motivated and hot for each other. They both also have healthy senses of humor and ability to laugh. Humor lightens the tone of the story when it’s needed most. It’s very well balanced.

The best part about the book is Laurel and her sisters have finally found a home; a home where their hearts can heal and, at least for Laurel with CJ’s help, find love and acceptance. It’s beautiful, welcoming and it’s the high note in a wonderful story worthy of the title, A Silver Wolf Christmas. Ms. Spear has written another wonderful story that illustrates the best of holiday romances. The bonus of this being a paranormal romance adds extra fun making A Silver Wolf Christmas a howling good time and a recommended read.

Yet she doesn’t see what’s coming when she journeys north on a long weekend in August to Bay Harbour, a post-card pretty tourist town on the edge of Canada’s popular Georgian Bay vacationlands. She thinks she’s there to reconnect with a former mentor. Shadowed by a ghostly white wolf and haunted by the victims of a long-dead killer, she’ll discover a startling new ending to a fifty year-old mystery. She’ll also discover romance with Tom Katz, an affable, treasure-hunting bush pilot with a reputation for living up to his name. They’re an unlikely pair and Chandler thinks it’s just a summer fling. Instead, a series of white-knuckle adventures will bring them to a time, a place and a choice that will forever link their lives.

A debut novel by a practised writer, A Force of Nature puts a “crisp, intelligent and engaging” spin on the mystery genre.

She’s an orphan. She was abandoned as a baby and taken in by a couple who wanted and loved her. They’re gone now. She was married twice. Once to a bum and once to a very nice guy who had an epileptic fit and drowned in the hot tub. She’s off men now. She’s just doing her publicity work and she’s happy with that. But when she keeps running across pictures of her best boss and even the scrabble letters form her name, she knows she better go see Iris.

This author writes a very fast-paced story with short chapters. It reads up quickly and you wonder if the main character will get out of there alive. Claire see things. She also feels things. She’s learned to pay attention to these happenings; they have meaning for her. She’s also smart and thinks quickly which helps keep her alive. Mr. McEwen has no problem with using strong female characters in his story. The Native American male is just as strong but in other ways.

Iris lives up north in the woods of Canada. The author does a good job of weaving in a back story about dead Native American girls from the past and the various prejudices and characters of the current town. The mysticism that is worked in seems real. If you’ve ever had a wild animal look you in the eye for a while, you’d swear they are sending you a message. Most of the time, its leave me alone but that’s not what Claire sees.

There are wild animals, an escaped con, float planes and even a crazy cop in this story. From the beginning to the end, you’ll be flipping pages and wondering what will happen next. There’s good tension and suspense all the way through. After all the worry and trouble Mr. McEwen put his characters through, it was nice to read a positive ending. It may be happy ever after yet.

The only bur under his saddle is the grudge he still carries…and the fear that his brother will once again swoop in to steal the pretty filly right out from under him.

Brody has unique talent, and doesn’t know if he can fit in in Texas anymore, but then he finds himself in love with Jesse and reconsidering all he thought. I really liked that he realized what he wanted and found a way to do it, and in such a way that it made my heart smile. I haven’t read all of these books but I have read enough of them that I enjoyed seeing past characters.

However, I can definitely say that is a story that can be enjoyed and read all by itself. I highly recommend it and look forward to any future stories revolving around the Ugly Stick Saloon.

How can you make money from a painting that you don’t own, can’t steal, and couldn’t fence even if you succeeded? What if you convince people you already had stolen it?

An assortment of shady and brutal players in Collar Robber think that—leaving a corpse or two along the way—they can use that bright idea to gouge fifty-million dollars from Jay Davidovich’s employer, Transoxana Insurance Company. Davidovich, first met in 2012’s Jail Coach, is a Loss Prevention Specialist. Fifty million would be a good loss to prevent.

Cynthia Jakubek from But Remember Their Names has jumped from the gilded drudgery of lawyering with a big Wall Street firm to the terrifying adventure of starting her own solo practice in Pittsburgh. One of her clients wants to help Davidovich—for a hefty price—and stay alive in the process. Another wants to get married in the Catholic Church to a fiancée who was briefly wed years before to someone who now has an interest in the painting. An annulment is needed.

As Davidovich and Jakubek face brawls on street corners and in court rooms, confrontations in brothels, confessionals, and Yankee Stadium luxury suites, and Tasers, machine guns, and religious vestments used as weapons, they have to remember that “take no prisoners” isn’t always a metaphor…

When an original painting and fifty million dollars hang in the balance, unlikely partnerships are bound to form. What will those pairings be? The insurance company and the Church? Or the lawyer and the criminal? By the time it all works itself out, it could be all of these and more. But who will come out on top and will the painting ever be safe from those who want it? Only time and a lot of intrigue will tell.

Cynthia Jakubek is a woman worth admiring. She had it all – a great job on Wall Street for a major law firm and the insane pay to go with it – and gave it all up to be able to chase the bad guys and have her day in court. For her, it was more about results than the money and she happily took a giant cut in pay in order to get out from under the thumb of the bigger lawyers and be able to do more than grunt work. She’s scrappy, determined, and takes no prisoners. I love a strong, feisty female lead and Jakubek is just that.

Jay Davidovich is pure muscle and knows how to use each and every one. Working loss-prevention for Transoxana Insurance Company, he gets to put it to good use on a regular basis. I’m not entirely sure why, but Jay was my favorite character in this novel. His tough exterior is present right up until he starts thinking about his wife, Rachel, and then he turns into a giant teddy bear. He’d be the idea kind of guy to have on your side. Intelligent and dangerous, he also has a soft side to match it.

This novel left me feeling rather torn. The story itself is well written and intense, yet, I still found myself confused more often than not. I think that, for me, there may have been too many characters, some of which you only get a cursory introduction to, leaving you without any decent way of remembering their purpose. About halfway through the novel, however, I began to figure out who was who and what their jobs were and it became easier to follow. Although, despite my initial confusion and lack of understanding, Collar Robber is an intricate and complex story that keeps you guessing until the very end.

An unseemly proposal…

Juliet Winters has come up with a wonderfully devious plan to avoid marrying her vile cur of a cousin. First, she’ll propose marriage to her handsome, reclusive neighbor, Lord Colwyn. Then, once she has both name and financial support, she’ll be able to pursue her true (if rather unladylike) passion — breeding dogs. But when Lord Colwyn rejects her proposal… Juliet must take matters into her own hands.

The last thing Benjamin Colwyn expected was for the spirited Juliet to blackmail him into marriage — especially not by kidnapping his beloved canine companion. Yet despite his yearning for peace and isolation, he finds himself wanting to help her, if only to protect her from a marriage to a disreputable scoundrel. He certainly doesn’t expect the woman who pilfered his dog to steal his heart, as well…

I enjoy unconventional heroines so I was pleased to meet Juliet and enjoyed watching how her unusual proposal bore fruit. Her intended betrothed is a reclusive bachelor who wants nothing to do with marriage or the complications that arise from being in a relationship. It’s his love for his dog that tips the scales and I couldn’t help but expect that a man who loves animals as much as he should be able to extend that capacity to love to his own species. Benjamin proved to be quite the challenge. He’s afraid. His fear makes for some incredibly poor decisions which contributed to the plot conflict.

This is a character driven romance told from both Juliet’s and Benjamin’s points of view. A reader gets to understand Juliet a whole lot better because she’s the stronger of the two as far as personality. She takes risks, she goes after what she wants, she speaks her mind and, once she falls in love, has the grace and dignity to deal with a recalcitrant husband. Benjamin, as sexy and wonderful as he is in his own way, has a huge chip on his shoulder from his past. Fortunately, absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

There is a thorn in Juliet’s side and it comes in the form of her cousin. In dealing with him is where Benjamin’s strengths in the story come forth. It’s one of the reasons why I liked him as a hero and it proved Juliet’s choosing of him was sound. Her cousin is a bounder, no doubts about it.

Anyone who loves dogs will have their hearts bruised just a little. It worked as a contributor to the plot conflict and it was very emotional. Because I’m sure it does happen in real life, it’s poignant and effective.

When Juliet and Benjamin explore their budding love in a physical manner, it’s quite beautiful. It’s the start of Benjamin’s healing but he doesn’t trust it. Thank goodness Juliet is a veritable font of patience, understanding and intelligence. She might be hurting but she’s not blinded to the truth. I have a great respect for her character.

The happy ever after is as sweet as I could wish. It ties up everything in a big romantic bow of satisfaction and happiness. Miss Winters Proposes is charming, sweet and a thoroughly likable read. If this is the traditional writing style of Ms. Fowlkes, then I’ll be looking for more. Some days, I crave a truly happy romance about two people who a reader can really cheer for and connect with. Juliet and Benjamin certainly were that for me in this novel so I’m a very happy reader.

Whether she wants to or not, Adrianna is about to find out all about the dream world. After all, she’s landed her Dream Job. And she’s in love with the man of her dreams.

Some people think dreams don’t have any special meanings for our waking lives. Other people think every dream is meaningful. Which one should Adrianna believe?

Adrianna was such a firecracker. What was really interesting about this character, though, was how much more I liked her after I noticed her personality flaws. She definitely wasn’t a perfect person by any stretch of the imagination. Some of her biggest flaws turned out to be things that I usually find a little irritating in a main character, but they suited her so well that I actually kind of liked seeing them in her. They rounded out her personality and made her more relatable.

It would have been helpful to have more clues about what was going on in the plot. I was pretty confused about what was happening to the main character for most of the storyline, and the explanation that was given never quite pieced it all together for me. There were so many sudden breaks between the various locations, dream sequences, and points in time that I had trouble figuring out how everything should have flowed together.

With that being said, the dreams themselves were delightful. They used the sometimes wonky logic that only really makes sense to anyone who hasn’t woken up yet. It was especially charming to see how Adrianne reacted to all of the strange, wonderful, and threatening things that invaded her mind while she slept because of how well I’d gotten to know her.

Dream Job is a good choice for anyone who is in the mood for something unconventional.

After a tragedy, in a way to honor his brother and try to cope, Dean becomes a army pen pal to Sergeant Ryder Brooks. The two connect through letters and phone calls for a year, falling in love and making plans to meet when Ryder finishes his tour. However, in an effort to save one of his men who steps on a mine, Ryder loses his leg. Broken and depressed, he doesn’t think Dean will want him. But once Dean learns what happens, he immediately goes to Ryder, determined to help him heal and show him that he loves him no matter what. Ryder has a long road of recovery ahead of him, but with Dean’s support, he realizes his life isn’t over, it’s just beginning if he’ll only give them a chance.

Dax had been the brother Dean always wanted. Dax, and his family, took Dean in when his parents threw him out after admitting he was gay. All grown up now, Dean is a teacher. When he receives a call from Dax’s mum, it’s the worst news in the world. Dax – on his second deployment – has been killed by an IED. Dean is determined to honour Dax’s memory, and one of the first steps toward that Dean decides to start writing to other servicemen over in Afghanistan. Ryder had only joined the penpal program as an example to other lonely men in his unit, hoping the ones who needed outside contact would follow his lead. He never expected to really connect with a random stranger. But something about Dean made him feel at ease and like he really had found a friend – someone to talk to not associated with all the sand and blood he was surrounded by. Can these two men really form a lasting bond over such a great distance?

I really loved this story. Well written and paced, it was a glorious slow build to the climax of Dean and Ryder meeting finally. Thoroughly modern, this nevertheless in many ways reminded me of the old-school style of letter-writing stories I read back in my younger years. This is not a wham-bam-thankyou-ma’am kind of story, but one where our two hero’s interact over a long distance and the intimacy is formed long before either sets eyes on the other. While fraught with potential disaster, I loved how Dean and Ryder formed such a strong emotional attachment before anything physical became a possibility between them. Indeed neither man knew for quite some time into the penpal-ship that the other was gay. I found that delightful – albeit a very strong – coincidence.

The author did an amazing job to my mind of showing how two men could form such a strong connection over a long distance and very different circumstances. I could feel the growing love and strong emotion tying each man to the other, thread by thread. I found this incredibly romantic and a real pleasure to read. While steamy and sexy in many places, their erotic chemistry was almost an afterthought. Yes, the sex was deliciously hot – but I actually valued their emotional connection more in this particular story. Dean and Ryder needed each other on a level not many romance novels can show. Dean offered unconditional support and a sense of safety and normalcy that Ryder desperately needed – both while out fighting in the war and the consequences that resulted when he came home. And Ryder helped Dean not feel so lonely and isolated in his own world of pain after losing his brother and his family being shattered. Dean’s feelings for Ryder help anchor him in the world of the living, and remind him he needs to keep on going, one foot in front of the other. This need they have for each other underpins their relationship, but helps their romantic relationship flourish beautifully to my mind.

A heartwarming, strongly emotional and steamily erotic novel, this is a wonderful story I plan to enjoy many times more in the future. The characters are strong and very well drawn, their circumstances natural and relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and plan to look for more by this author. Recommended.

This story reveals family connections from WWII era to contemporary times. The people, changing times, noted events all were presented in a perfectly believable way. The writing style is straightforward and readable.

Some measure of wordiness, as well as the odd editing oversights (leaving a typo like ‘here’ in place of ‘her’) prevent a top score. Do not let this keep you from reading, however. The Cottage on the Border is an odd but heartfelt and original tale.

Now the Lord of Llys y Gwalch must find a way to attain the heart of his soul mate and keep her safe from the dangers that threaten them both.

Can Garreth and Essie save the land without losing each other?

I really enjoyed all the myth and magic surrounding Garreth and his land. I must say I was very surprised that Essie was able to figure out Garreth’s secret so quickly. However, she is a very intelligent woman, so it makes sense that Garreth wouldn’t be able to fool her for long. In fact, I found his honesty about not only his situation, but the cycles of disaster plaguing his realm quite refreshing. Since Essie didn’t have to worry about any deception from Garreth, she was able to really focus on deciphering the inscription and dig deep into the legends of the land.

Garreth’s honesty also made it possible for he and Essie to work very closely together. The more time they spent together, the stronger their bond became. Their chemistry is like a slow burn always just under the surface. I also enjoyed their teasing banter. The game over figuring out Essie’s true name was always a source of amusement. Some of the possibilities Garreth and his friends came up with had me laughing out loud. Another reason Essie and Garreth are such a good couple is Garreth ability to balance Essie. She has a tendency to obsess about her work to the point of not eating or resting enough. Garreth is also very serious about their work, but he also knows the value of taking time to relax and coming back to a task refreshed and renewed. However, both Garreth and Essie have rather disturbing dreams that seem to suggest they might lose each other while trying to prevent the next disaster. Will they lose the love they’ve only just discovered?

I would have liked to know a bit more about the villain of this tale. As Essie and Garreth work to solve the mystery, there is someone in the shadows with their own reasons for wanting the inscription deciphered. However once this character was unmasked, the reasons given for their actions were remarkably simple I found this surprising as this person would have had to conceal their nefarious intentions for hundreds of years. For someone to be so deceitful for so long, I would have expected more complex motives.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Court of the Hawk. Ms. Peterson has created a beautiful world, and Essie and Garreth are a wonderful couple. Fans of fantasy romance won’t want to miss this enchanting tale.

Get ready for a full on romance with Ms. Feehan’s latest, Dark Ghost There is the requisite bad guy to spice things up and provide a bit of drama and suspense but the focus is most definitely on Andre and Teagan. This is also a book that is perfect for readers who’ve never read any of the previous Carpathian novels because this story is 100% a standalone read.

Teagan had quite the learning curve ahead of her. I enjoyed her unique talents and her sense of humor. I also liked how the author had the heroine express her many reasons for falling in lust, then in love, with the hero.

Andre is a typical Carpathian alpha male, but he is so smitten with his lifemate that he will do anything to make her happy. That was very romantic.

There are a few bad guys that pop up to keep things interesting at various points in the story. All of them get their eventual comeuppance and I was very happy to see that. I was also gratified to see that the heroine got through to the hero and they eventually became a team instead of Andre’s initial caveman tactics. They both matured in their relationship, with a few near misses, until their love was a thing of beauty.

When I said this was a full on romance, I wasn’t kidding. Usually there is more meat to the plot of Ms.Feehan’s books but this one seemed to focus only on their romance. It’s hyper-focused on him learning to bend a little, and on her following his orders a bit more often than not. Teagan has a tendency to being obstinate and stubborn. And, hot and spicy bed scenes pepper the entire novel, so much so that I felt like I over indulged on dessert and forgot about the main entrée of a meal. Considering Andre’s age and all that, I expected more substance of a plotline especially when the hero has the nickname of ‘ghost’. I mean, the history behind his ghost handle is a bit sad, and that aspect made the hero more rounded while giving his character more depth, but the author really didn’t take it anywhere. She focused strictly on a man and a woman from different cultures coming together, and his seduction and kisses were the bridge between the two. I felt a bit let down because I like my stories to have a bit more substance and conflict to make their passion more powerful and a must read. As it was, I sort of lost interest in the sex after a while. I prefer the excitement of action and adventure against the challenge of incredible odds, not a litany of see-sawing emotions, followed by steamy clinches and ‘all is right with the world’, until the next revelation that makes Teagan mad at the hero, again.

A bright piece of intrigue was the monastery and Teagan’s belief that a special stone is going to help others when nothing else ever had the power to do so before. What does she know? What will her discovery do? And who will be the next hero; the one who came out of nowhere? That in itself is enough to ensnare my imagination. Even though this book wasn’t as exciting as some I’ve read in the past, it was still fun and entertaining, and Ms. Feehan definitely set her hook nicely. I am actually looking forward for the next book in the series. Unfortunately for fans everywhere, it’s not going to get published fast enough for us. I really do enjoy those alpha Carpathian men.

Dark Ghost is a good read with a well written romance between two unlikely people. Andre does his thing, and Teagan does hers. If a reader is looking for a character driven romance without a lot of external conflict, just enough to keep Andre on his toes, then this is a solid choice. And if a reader is interested in more background about Carpathians in general, the author included an extensive listing of Carpathian info at the end of the book that might be helpful for new readers. All in all, I’m glad I read it.
