Grace McGillis is over the moon to have won the love, or at least the favor, of Dr. Sage Gerret, the resident heartthrob at the hospital where she is a receptionist. Sage hopes to “improve” her: to inspire her to eat and drink less and educate herself about fine art and music. Everyone sees Sage as a great catch. Why else would Grace put up with his barbs about her appearance and his uninspired lovemaking? Enter Breece, an adoring alpha male who is out-of-this-world in bed. That is not surprising, for he is, after all, a ghost. Though Sage may not be anyone’s dream date, he is alive. Grace is falling in love with Breece, but is love enough? Even if fate allows her ghost lover to continue his delightful haunting, how will this couple find love everlasting?

She found her dream man, but the one that she wants to spend forever with is a ghost!

He works in the same hospital where she’s the receptionist. Sage is an extremely controlling man with extreme OCD. Grace, during a girl’s night in, agrees to use the Ouija board with her best friend. However, things start going wrong. Next thing she knows there is a hot alpha male ghost with excellent skills in bed.

Grace is a curvy, auburn haired, hot headed gal whose mouth has a tendency to run off her mouth with anyone except her partner. That part was extremely frustrating for me. I know her reasons for it but then I really didn’t understand it. I kept saying, “How much is too much?”

The story flowed well enough and kept me hooked. It was an interesting premise. Plus the chemistry, they’re in lust with each other and it shows in every scene. The sex scenes were hot and sizzling.

I loved how their relationship developed. The ghost, Breece is the complete opposite of Sage. It shows how that brings the changes in her life and in her. I was delightfully surprised how it ended. A perfect ending.

A ghost with an insatiable appetite for sex combined with a woman who desperately wants some sex. It’ll satisfy a readers craving for fantasy and sizzling chemistry.

Do you like your Christmas naughty or nice? Bring the season into your heart with love stories to match your mood. This boxed set from 10 of today’s hottest romance authors will warm your heart even on the coldest night.

These are 10 short stories that will tell you exactly what Christmas is about.

Dale Mayer ~ Broken Protocols

This is a different story than the others since Broken Protocols is set in the future. Dani and Charmin, her pet cat, were brought to the future by Milo. Milo is the younger brother of the man who becomes her husband, Lexi.

This was a very creative and well thought out story. The characters were different and very eclectic. Every character had their own personality. It was interesting to see how they came together to bring back Christmas.

The plot in itself was simple but the way it was written, it kept me interested and wanting to know what happens. This is a book of rekindling, finding and making new traditions. To celebrate Christmas again, what great joy!

H.D. Thomson ~ Shades of Holly

Second Chances… Everyone would love to have that second chance. Fate and Zach get a chance for their relationship but it comes with the possibility of Fate’s life being in danger.

Always loved second chances love stories. This one was special for me because it had Christmas/Holiday added to it. Shades of Holly also had a little bit of fantasy in it the emotions and the feelings that the characters had touched me and made it real. It was descriptive and touching.

A touch of intrigue mixed with Christmas, perfect for mystery lovers.

Chantel Rhondeau ~ Season For Love

Tess Riggs is the head nurse whereas Dr. Dash Brisson is the pediatric specialist. They didn’t get along. Misunderstandings made it difficult for them to get along with each other. However, a Christmas auction heats up their passion for each other. They try to work with each and understand each other. This story was realistic for me. The passion for each other and for the work they do shows throughout the story. It was interesting to read their interactions.

This is one story that sounded so real because both of the characters are hard workers who love what they do and want to see a change in other’s lives. How their relationship progressed and developed felt so realistic.

Leslie Lynch ~ Christmas Hope

Sam Bledsoe runs a landscape business that not only keeps a roof over his head but lets him work without curious eyes and questions. However, when a woman, Becca, faints while walking from his neighbor’s house, he comes to her rescue even though he wrestles with the memories of the accident that gave him a scarred face.

A bond forms between them. A bond, that can either help him recover or can set him off. This bond between them was very remarkable. Sam needed help to run his landscaping business. When he meets Becca, she somehow pushes him to take chances and make him see things that his scarred face has hidden.

Sandy Loyd ~ A Christmas Miracle

There is a india viagra limit to the number of votes a candidate can muster from urban areas. Megan Jenkins is a widow and a mother. She isn’t looking forward to Christmas since her husband died one year right after Christmas. But this Christmas, her and her son’s life is changed for the better with the help of a long time friend, Kevin.

This Christmas will be different for Megan and her son. Zach brings strength and happiness to them. Strength to take care of her problems. Zach was there for her and her son throughout. And that gave her hope. I loved that. Rekindled hope. The healing from the incident that took her husband’s life. I loved Zach’s character most of all. He understood everything and was willing to wait. That was sweet.

Barbara Lohr ~ The Salty Carmel Christmas

Rachel Morgan returns to Paris, her hometown, for Christmas break with failing grades, a school loan and a bad breakup. Instead of a break she gets bombarded with problems that could shake her small family. However, through it all Rachel finds a love in an unexpected family friend that helps her family and her through these difficult times.

I just loved it. Rachel is in that time of her life where she is trying to decide where her life and career will head to. She is headstrong and a perceptive girl with a love for family. She understands people and is kind to people.

The characters were very young without it being too clumsy and the story didn’t stray too far towards drama. That was a win-win for me. The characters were defined and understanding.

A sweet story with a recipe for salty caramels that is going to make you drool.

Marcia James ~ Heating Up the Holidays

Nicky Paxton, the heir to her father’s department store chain, is working as a Santa’s Helper when she meets her high school heart-breaker, Chris Spencer, who wishes to start his own practice in his hometown so that he and his daughter can stay near family. When his daughter asks for a “Fairy Pony Puppy” as a Christmas gift, he enlists Nicky to find out what is a “Fairy Pony Puppy”.

A very sweet and thoughtful story. I was a sad to see the story end. It ended too early. Everyone has their own dream. How far will you go fulfill yours? For me this story shows the importance of being with the person you love. Success and love can go hand in hand. Though it was a very good story I think there could have been more. The plot could have been more developed. It was too simple and short. The characters and the passion between Nicky and Chris kept this story alive.

Carolyn Hughey ~ Insanity Claus

Mallory Gardner, a widow is trying to keep her Christmas shop afloat when Arden J. Miller enters her shop and almost captures her heart. With two constantly quarrelling daughters and her own battered heart, her sanity is tested to the limit. I wanted to keep reading to see if the issues would be resolved enough for Mallory to concentrate on herself.

An engaging story with a plot that just stunned me for a second. It was a very moving story that brought tears to my eyes. It brought teenage angst together with mother’s love, frustration and hesitation. The combination of all of these was woven very well. The plot and the characters went hand in hand in satisfying me.

Tallulah Grace ~ A Family for Christmas (The Orphans of Richaven, Book #1)

Erin Matthews returns home after her father’s death intent on selling the house. However, she meets the family living next door and uncovers a truth that could change her life.

The plot was not that complicated. But the characters for me were the main interest. The characters pulled me in every time and engaged me in the story. I think the characters were the driving force for this story and that was ideal for this setting. The chemistry between Erin and her handsome neighbor, combined with the feel of family, moved the plot along at a great pace. Perfect!

This is a very touching and emotional story filled with characters that touched my heart.

Rachelle Ayala ~ A Father for Christmas

Kelly is a single mother who is trying to give her daughter, Bree, the best possible life she could after a scandal that leaves her an ex-convict. Bree wants a father for Christmas. When she sees Tyler, a homeless veteran, she thinks she has received her Christmas gift.

This story was totally different than any other short story in this anthology. It was descriptive and very deep. The plot had an unexpected turn that kept me on my toes. With the little girl added into this, it just made me smile. Of all the stories in the set, I think this one will really appeal to those who appreciate a good love story…It is a story about second chances, forgiveness and hope.

This boxed set of Christmas stories shows the different sides of life. Sappy love stories surrounded by family with a sprinkle of Christmas all over. Christmas is the season of love, family and togetherness. All of the stories are presented by very talented authors.

What to do when your honey’s traveling but you’ve just got to have some fun? For Catie and Ryan, good times are only a phone call away…

Ryan’s on a road trip with friends, which means Catie is by herself for a long—and lonely—weekend. When the phone rings just before midnight, though, she can guess what it means: Ry’s lonely too, but he’s not about to let miles of road stop them from having a hot night together.

Catie and Ry are very happily married. While Ry’s away on a road trip though, what’s a girl to do except dress up in her sexy lingerie and read a deliciously smutty book? When Ry calls home though, things quickly heat up, and both Catie and Ry realise that just because they’re not in the same room doesn’t mean they can’t be together…

Scorching hot, so make sure you have some icy water on hand when reading this. Although it’s a very short story, the smoking hot chemistry explodes between Catie and Ry. Deliciously descriptive, it makes me long for the next time my partner goes away — who could guess a late night phone call could be so arousing! Vividly detailed, this is enough to make you blush, so I wouldn’t recommend a read of it on the train or any place public. Hot and sensual, it sure got me breathing hard and all worked up.

There is no pretense of a plot, but in a sense that made it better. I liked how the author focused only on Catie and Ry, and their naughty call. No plot is better than a half-baked one, in my opinion. I’ll definitely be looking at other works by this author. Recommended for a quick read, something to get you in the mood when your man is readily on hand or only a quick phone call away.

The clan is waking. After centuries of spellbound sleep, dragon-shifters are returning to the mountains. They are few in number, and the outside world has become overrun with humans.

Huroth, the dragon chieftain, recognizes a need for his kind to adapt, by forming alliances and mate-bonds with humans, but his clan is divided. From the first time she meets him, Lady Orwenna is drawn to the magnificent chieftain. The mind link he forms with her is both fascinating and frightening, as is the powerful attraction she feels for him. If only she knew what was in his heart.

Does he want her for the woman she is, or for her magical abilities? When war breaks out between kingdoms and ancient enemies of the dragons resurface, the clan will be tested. In the midst of uncertainty, can Huroth and Orwenna find their way together?

He was a massive beast with scales as black and polished as obsidian and teeth resembling white daggers. A beast capable of stealing her heart and making her a Dragon Wife.

After centuries of spellbound sleep, the dragon clan wakes up to a world where humans have taken over. To protect his clan, Huroth, the clan chieftain, forms an alliance with King Elric. He wishes to Mate-bond with humans, but not everyone agrees with him. The clan becomes divided.

When Huroth went to form the alliance he met with the Lady Orwenna. There is a connection/mind-link between them which at first surprises them both. When two kingdoms clash, the help of the dragon warriors is called. Huroth meets Orwenna again and their bond strengthens. But the mind link scares Orwenna. Though both of them are very much attracted to each other, Orwenna has doubts; doubts that could make their life or break it.

Orwenna wants to experience adventure and be controlled by her own decisions not be used for gain as a tool. She is a kind hearted but strong willed woman.

When the story started, it didn’t say much about Orwenna’s age. There were some descriptions that I think was missing. Yes, there were hints to her age, but I would have loved to know how old she was when they first met. Seeing “7 Years Later” shocked and confused me a little. I knew she was young when they met. But didn’t realize it would take seven years for her to reach her adulthood.

I very much enjoy reading dragon stories every now and then. Reading Dragon Wife was a treat for me considering I finished it in one sitting. That doesn’t happen that much these days.

I would have loved to see more of Orwenna’s magical abilities for one thing but I didn’t miss it that much.

Huroth and Orwenna have a lot of passion and chemistry between them. The romance is very much satisfying. They work hard to be with each other and for that I have a lot of respect for them. They are not willing to give up without a fight.

Speaking of fighting, the battle scenes, I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading that. It was almost believable, except for the dragons and the magic.

Dragon Wife transferred me to a whole new world filled with dragons and magic. Of course it wouldn’t have been complete without the romance.

Is there a way back? Can Lucy convince Nick that everything they once had is worth fighting for?

If this short story proves anything it’s that everything is better the second time around.

Nick can’t let go of his anger towards his ex-wife Lucy, but Lucy will not take no for an answer. Buying a house that is a bit of a ‘fixer-upper’ that just happens to be right next door to Nick proves that – she needs him to listen to her. Little did she know that even though she wanted Nick to talk to her and listen to what she has to stay, she might get a little bit more then what she bargained for.

Lucy is a very lovable character who easily got empathy from me. Everything she and Nick have been though in the past nearly broke my heart. She bought the house next door to be closer to Nick and try and tell him her side of the story but when Lucy realises that Nick may be ready to move on she uses the house renovations to figure out what she’s going to do with her life next.

In such a small amount of time Ms Douglas has created a very beautiful love story that took no time at all to get me hooked onto Nick and Lucy’s love/hate relationship.

With this deep and emotional read with just the right amount of humour thrown in, this short story quickly became an excellent and very entertaining read. I recommend it.

However, Billie soon discovers that she has a lot to learn and quickly.

I was hooked from the Dorothy Sayers quote that opens this novel. “Time and trouble will tame an advanced young woman, but an advanced old woman is uncontrollable by any earthly force.” Billie and Emma are an unlikely pair, brought together by circumstances, and Billie is not sure that she will succeed, but she gives it her all.

I liked both characters. They are very different but they are very real people. The plot is complex, with a variety of different characters and events tumbling on top of each other. The story is told from several different points of view. We have Penny, the runaway teen, Stephen, a young man with a good heart, in addition to Billie and Emma. Each of these characters tells their part in the adventures.

The different story lines are brought together rather like a patchwork quilt. It isn’t until the very end that the various parts come into focus, and the conclusion is filled with suspense and drama. I did not figure things out any faster than Billie did, and in fact, I thought that there were just a series of separate stories with a common thread. The reality was very different and totally took me by surprise even though the clues were all there. They just were well hidden among all the events.

Mystery lovers are sure to enjoy watching Billie as she learns on the job, and the dynamics between Billie and Emma add to the tension. I look forward to more adventures with Emma and Billie.

As a wildlife biologist, and working for a foundation to protect the wild gray wolves, Tori was used to butting heads with those who didn’t agree with her opinions. Having a gorgeous hunk come to her rescue was new, though, and something she liked more than she cared to admit.

Having convinced Tori to stay at his place to study the new species of “wolves” he’d told her about, Memphis soon learns his mate will do anything to protect them. Even if there’s risk to herself.

Memphis is a wolf shifter. During a trip into town for shopping he finds his mate, Tori in an argument with some of the members of the town about the need to protect the wild gray wolves. One thing leads to another and she has a gorgeous hunk for a protector and probably for more than that.

I loved the family and the how the relationship developed between both Tori and Memphis. Memphis wants to be together with Tori but not simply because she is his mate, he loves her.

This is the fourth book in this series and I think somehow I expected a bigger glimpse into Memphis’s family. The ending was wrapped up a little too hastily but otherwise for a short story, this was perfect. I enjoyed this short read a lot more than I initially thought I would. The romance and the passion between Memphis and Tori was what dominated the story at first but I was relieved to find it was not the only element to it.

Shapeshifters, love, romance and family – they are an ideal recipe to wind down with…It’s a good read and worth checking out.

Three stories of hot doctor loving and so much more.

The writing in this book flows well. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. Yes, there are three individual stories here, but they have a central connection and great lessons for the heroines to learn. Ms Allure wrote characters I could cheer for and wanted to know more about.

At times, the stories were little more than erotic fluff but I didn’t mind. Sometimes that’s what I want–to be able to escape into the world of the characters and have fun. This book was definitely about fun.

Of the three stories, I enjoyed Seize the Doctor the best. From the start, I felt the steam billowing around Nikki and Court. They wanted each other beyond the initial contact and had me rooting for them right away. This story is guaranteed to melt your reader screen.

If you want stories that are hot and fun, then this might be the book for you.

They met at the worst possible moment…or maybe it was just in time. David McClain was about to go to war and Lindsey Wood was there at his going-away party, capturing his heart when falling for a woman was the last thing on his mind. While David was serving his country, he stayed in close contact with Lindsey. But war changes a person, and when he came home very little had the same meaning that it had before – including the romance that had sustained him. Was love truly unconquerable, or would it prove to be just another battlefield casualty?

Gooseberry Island is the most nuanced, dramatic, and romantic novel yet from a writer whose ability to plumb the depths of human emotion knows few peers.

It is amazing that Steven Manchester can take the same alphabet most of us use, create the same words most of us use, and arrange them so skillfully that they reach in and stir profound emotions in a reader. His ability to connect the reader with the characters’ deepest feelings, fears, hopes, dreams, and love is incredible.

GOOSEBERRY ISLAND is a tapestry of a tale that depicts the horrors of war—even one fought for a noble cause—and how faith, hope, and love struggle to overcome the memories that rise up like demons to rule men’s lives and the lives of those who love these men and have the courage to help them survive PTSD.

Army Ranger David McClain and Lindsey Wood, the daughter of an Operation Desert Storm veteran with PTSD, meet the day before David leaves for a year’s tour in Afghanistan. Their immediate connection has them on the beach talking all night where they can see the lighthouse. The symbolism of the lighthouse, that stands like a missionary determined to save, is memorable.

David and Lindsey’s courtship via email, Skye, snail mail, and care packages reveals the change in David as he follows orders and does with skill what he’s been trained to do. When he returns home, he is no longer the baby-faced young man with a sparkle in his eyes.

Lindsey’s life with her war-damaged father makes her wonderful if she has the strength to deal with David. No doubt love is there, but she’s not sure it can conquer the demons that replay the horrors of war in David’s mind, driving him to do things totally uncharacteristic of the young man she fell in love. The degrading actions of her father make her life a misery at times. She perseveres with him and clings to hope that David will find the help he needs before it is too late.

David’s Ranger brothers add another level of often heartbreaking emotion to the story as do the flashbacks of David’s life and his relationship with his parents. These show his motivation, fears, hopes, and will to persevere. The reader is also privy to the battle David fights to reconcile his soldier training with his innate decency.

GOOSEBERRY ISLAND is full of memorable expressions, of symbolism, and of how enduring faith and love settle themselves deep in the hearts and souls of David and Lindsey and never allow themselves to be evicted. EXCELLENT READING!

Desperate not to let the other win, Jason and Leah forge a pact: stay together until they find the same dollhouse at a different toy store. It sounds simple, but ten stores and many hours later, they still come up empty. They might not be finding another dollhouse, but they sure are finding a lot to talk about and, as their mutual…

Last minute shopping and a fight over the last toy of its kind don’t sound like a promising start, but in The Perfect Gift they lead to a budding romance and some adorable moments.

The unlikely premise of the story made it harder for the author to convince me of the attraction between the main characters, but Ms. Alexander managed to do it just fine. The relationship develops perhaps a tiny bit too fast at the beginning, but the short format doesn’t allow for any dawdling. As Leah and Jason get to know each other, the pull they feel towards each other begins to make more sense. Their acquaintance quickly evolves into friendship, and over the shared stories of single-parenting and of their kids’ awesomeness it grows into a lot more in the span of a single day.

By the time they ended up wrapping gifts at her place, I was very invested in their relationship and I was rooting for Jason not to sleep on the couch. But of course, the author’s version made so much more sense as it depicted Jason as an utter gentleman.

The girls and their instant friendship felt a bit too simplified and too quick, but again, that was probably due to the short format and to show the true spirit of Christmas. Jason’s solution after not finding the second doll house was sweet and very telling of the sort of a father he was.

The flurry of snowflakes outside, Leah’s freezing fingers and Jason’s kindness as he tries to warm them, and the cozy scene when they have dinner were so scrumptious I wished this were a longer piece so I could get to know Jason and Leah better. As it was, I got a sweet tidbit that got me thoroughly in the mood for the holidays.

The Perfect Gift was indeed a sweet surprise.
