Cecily’s husband Neil has kept her waiting one too many times. After another lonely night of movie watching, she decides to take her pleasure into her own hands. Tangled up tinsel, a smoking hot red dress, and a holiday wish come true are in store for Cecily when Neil comes home from work and catches her being a very naughty girl.

Cecily is tired and impatient. Her husband, Neil, was late. Again. Neil being late coming home was becoming a habit, but being stood up on Christmas Eve started to get Cecily worried. Tired of waiting, Cecily decides to indulge herself. She takes a few naughty pictures to whet Neil’s appetite and tries on the outrageously sexy red dress she’s been hiding away for a special occasion. What will happen when Neil catches her?

This is a fun and sexy little Christmas short story. I found Cecily to be a sympathetic character and I was thrilled when Neil came in and lived up to the expectations of a hero. While there might not be anything outrageously unique in this quick story, I still found myself eagerly turning the pages. Naughty but brief, this is like an excellent appetizer – quick and tasty, and it leaves you wanting more.

This is a hot little story that I feel sure will get anyone into the Christmas spirit and ready to jump on their partner in the best way possible. Naughty but nice, I really had fun reading this story.

Everything from her hair to her accent, and especially her fiery temper. When Vlad’s Eliza quits after being pushed too far, what is he to do without her?

Can an old vampire change his ways?

Vlad and Marion have had an interesting and antagonistic past. From the few brief glimpses I had of their time together, I got the impression that Marion has put up with an unbelievable amount of bad behavior from Vlad. He really takes her presence for granted. I honestly can’t believe she didn’t walk out on him before now. Will Vlad realize just how important Marion is to him before it’s too late?

I do wish the relationship between Marion and Vlad had been explored more. While I was able to get a fairly good sense of their personalities and their relationship, I was left wanting to know a little more about their shared past. Despite this issue, I think that Vlad and Marion make an interesting couple. Marion strikes me as a no nonsense sort of woman whose patience can only be pushed so far. Vlad seems a little arrogant and entitled, but I have a feeling that Marion knows just how to get under his skin. Her reaction to his declaration of love had me laughing out loud.

I think that the conflict between Marion and Vlad was resolved too quickly. Given the way Vlad had been behaving, I definitely think that Marion should have let him stew a while longer. This would have drawn the tension out and added just a bit more suspense to the story. As it was, everything was wrapped up very quickly and felt a little rushed.

Overall, I enjoyed reading My Fair Vampire. Marion and Vlad are fun, and their story is quick and easy to read. Anyone looking for a fast paranormal romance to fill up a few spare moments should check it out.

After not meeting up with her blind date at a local bistro, Val finds herself dressed up as Alice and attending the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the woods with three sexy guys. Seeking an adventure, Val dives into the world of fantasy and does what anyone in her situation would do: a foursome!

Val was late, late for a very important blind date. Rushing to the small bistro she discovers things aren’t exactly going how she planned. A strange man in a top hat gives her a cup of tea quite insistently when she’s ordered a coffee, and that begins some very odd adventures. Val – who the man in the top hat insists on calling her Alice – has been …. borrowed… for an event. One she’s not quite certain she wants to attend. Reality and fantasy blur a little, and Val needs to make some important decisions very carefully.

Personally I had to laugh when Val drank her cup of tea. As a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, one thing I know beyond doubt was if I’ve ordered one drink and am given another – with very polite but exceedingly strong orders to drink it – you can’t expect anything sensible to follow such a course! I’d be rather careful of food offered as well, now I think about it. Nevertheless, Val finds herself in the woods sitting at a large table with three men in attendance. She discovers it’s the Mad Hatters tea-party with the white rabbit and mouse. They reminded her that in her dating profile she’d stated that she wanted adventure, and the three men were determined to give her exactly that.

Boy does Val/Alice have a raunchy adventure! While I admit I found the setup a little strange – Val’s easy acceptance of being drugged and taken into the woods for some sexy fun in particular – I can’t deny the story was scorching hot and a definite, fun and adult look at the Alice in Wonderland story. I would have really enjoyed knowing a bit of history of the three men. It seemed a little strange and from left-field that they set the whole situation up, especially not really knowing why or how they came to this point. Possibly I could understand if there was a word limit on the story, this might have been very restrictive, but I do feel a bit more detail and explanation would have made this a far stronger, more well-rounded story and one I could understand far deeper.

The sex is intense and very hot. I’d have enjoyed it if this scene was longer too. While the author does a great job of the sex scene, a second one following on would have been lovely to my mind. I craved more! I also really enjoyed how there was a definite “Happy For Now” ending with one of the men. My strongest recommendation for other readers interested in this story is to sit back with a nice pot of tea, disengage your brain, relax and just enjoy it. Go with it. I certainly had a lot of fun when I did so. Recommended.

Lizzie Schwep has fought her attraction to Brian Monroe for three long years, but when an accident leaves him in need of some tender loving care she finds herself ready to toss in the towel.

Brian Monroe is comfortable being the boss. He’s avoided a messy situation by keeping hands off his sexy assistant, but when he’s suddenly dependent on Lizzie, he finds himself tempted to break all the rules and follow her every order.

Lizzie can’t stand her boss Brian’s latest girlfriend, but with his leg in a cast his upcoming holiday in Spain becomes more fantasy than reality. Brian’s new squeeze goes on without him, and Lizzie is left to make sure Brian can manage on his own. With the ordinary, simple things like showering and climbing stairs now a difficult feat to achieve, Brian finds himself reluctantly grateful for his stubborn assistant’s help. Working together far more intimately now, both Brian and Lizzie find themselves unable to deny the simmering chemistry growing between them.

This is a fun short story. While the main plot of “secretary falls in love with her boss when he needs her help” is not a new theme, Ms Ashley writes this in a very modern tone, and with a light, happy style that is fun to read. Lizzie’s character has a good bit of sass and doesn’t take any of Brian’s growls to heart. And Brian, for his part, isn’t so macho he can’t admit when he does need some help. Having said that Brian is quite the alpha male, and readers who don’t enjoy their heroes a bit blinded at times by testosterone mightn’t find Brian’s assumptions and assertive ways as enjoyable as I did.

Sadly I struggled at first to get into this short story, as there was a grammatical error in the second sentence – “you’re” instead of “your”. While many editing errors often pass me by, it’s normally because I’m so sucked into the story, reading it at a lightning pace my eyes (or brain) just skims over them. But a clear error so close to the beginning completely distracted me. I went back to the beginning to reread (thinking I’d missed something) and even after three rereads I realized this was just a simple editing error. But by then, it made it difficult for me to really sit back, relax and enjoy the story. It spoiled the beginning for me and I struggled to overcome that through the rest of the read.

I found this a fun, lighthearted and quick read. There’s a clear snare dangling from a previously linked book (with Plain Jane) and another clear link to the next book (Alice of Wonder) but neither of them in any way detracted from me enjoying Lizzie’s story. The sex is hot and sensual, but nothing over the top or risqué enough to blush at. I also really enjoyed both Lizzie and Brian’s characters, finding them interesting and realistic. With a few small bumps through the story, I overall enjoyed it and would try another by this author.

Why would the King of Incubi send one of his spies out on Christmas Eve? Unless it is to break her heart…

As a succubus, preying on humans is Raschael’s business, and mortal holidays are a frivolous waste of time. So maybe her king meant to punish her when he sent her out to hunt on Christmas Eve. Or maybe he just wanted her far, far away, so he could banish Raschael’s one trusted friend.

Your little pet has run off.

Now Raschael must track down a missing fallen angel, and she doesn’t have a clue where to start. Bigger predators are closing in, and Rasche’s only lead is a Christmas stripper named Noelle.

Sometimes the rules need to be bent a little.

What surprised me the most about the sex scenes was how effortlessly the author used some of them to move the plot forward. They were hot and informative! That isn’t something I generally see in these types of stories, so it was a lot of fun to see how this technique can work.

Raschael lives in an incredibly complex society whose rules often have little to nothing in common with how humans live. While the world-building in this tale was strong, there were several times when I felt confused about what was going on. Certain terms were used for a long time before they were defined, yet knowing what they meant was important to understanding why certain characters reacted to them the way they did. I would have really liked to have either learned their definitions right away or to have access to a short glossary at the end of this e-book that explained what these words meant.

With that being said, Ms. Serrah has a smooth writing style that made it hard for me to tear my eyes away from the page. The world she created was fascinating. I read this whole book in one sitting because I was so curious to see how it would end. Based on how much I enjoyed it, I will be on the lookout for what she comes up with next.

Angel’s Keeping is a good choice for anyone in the mood for something steamy.

And now the fading song of their daughter’s life has called him back to the glen.

Will tonight be the night he can reveal to her the eternal love that has kept her safe, and that will now protect her son?

This is not your typical vampire book. Aside from the usual brooding, sadness, and melancholy most lovers of these paranormal creatures of the night have come to expect from a story—yeah, that’s there—William’s character has a different cause for unhappiness with his lot in life. Just when he thought things couldn’t get any better, they go horribly wrong. Suddenly, the future he thought was within his grasp, is taken away and he’s forced to watch as the life of the ones he loves carries on without him. Life and death come to everyone, except William.

We don’t really get to know much about Mary other than she’s obviously head over heels in love with William. Despite her father’s disapproval, she hopes to marry him one day and start a family. One night of passion between them is all they have before the bloodlust of another changes their fate, leaving William unable to have the woman he loves, and Mary with an unborn child who’ll grow up without a father.

I really struggled with the story. None of it seemed to make much sense until the end when I finally figured out what was going on. I think the short length is what added to the confusion. It seems like the plot could and should have been elaborated on a bit. It was like as soon as I understood what was happening, it ended, leaving me feeling a bit cheated and left in the dark.

Some of the positive aspects of this book were the author’s ability to paint the scene with words. Ms. Nostromo has an excellent ability to create vivid imagery by including all the senses in her writing. I may not have understood the point of the plot at times, but the scenery surrounding the characters—what they felt, heard, smelled, etc.—was very clear and precise. For me, this is the type of writing that makes me feel a part of what’s going on with the characters as opposed to just being fed the details in a one-dimensional tone.

While I wished the story had continued a bit, the overall purposes of the plot were met by the end. I struggled a bit, but eventually understood the purpose of this melancholy tale and am curious as to whether or not the author’s wonderful use of word imagery shines as brightly in her other works.

This book isn’t for anyone looking for an easy, laid back tale full of erotic tension and steamy sex. I wouldn’t even classify it as an erotic story as the actual love scenes are limited to one. No, this is more for the active thinker who likes a story that digs deeper into the underlying emotions behind the main character’s brooding and sadness.

While it might leave some readers—those looking for good old erotic tale—a bit disappointed, it may reward others—those tired of the same expectations when it comes to erotic romance—with a little more to think about. Overall, it left me wondering if Ms. Nostromo has other plans for William.

This was a very short story but a very good one which I enjoyed. It was sensually descriptive without overpowering the characters and the whole story. The plot was as simple as it could be and everything came together very well.

However, I do wish that there was a little bit more to the whole story. The ending was good but it felt incomplete because of the lack of depth or detail about the characters themselves. I wanted to know more about them and maybe get at least a hint of their life after.

Nonetheless, this story is perfect for anyone looking for a short romance without it being complicated.

When Ruby meets Galeron in the forest the attraction is instant. But their relationship isn’t easy. It’s filled with slow returning memories that are fuzzy and more than a healthy dose of danger. From the first page both characters entranced me. The premise was exciting and it kept me reading and envisioning every upcoming moment of the book.

There was a main plot as well as a couple of subplots. When I started reading I questioned my decision to read a long Historical Romance. Sometimes long novels tend to meander about and bore me. It didn’t happen in this book since there was always something happening. Even the simplest actions captured my attention and held it.

Ruby’s memories, who she was and what happened to her, was very well constructed but I do think that the suspense of her memories should have been revealed a lot earlier. It was very much exasperating when I knew who she was (though I had no idea what happened and didn’t remotely have any idea until the climax) and had to wait for more than 200+ pages for the other characters to find out or even suspect anything.

That being said this book is filled with humor, sadness, happiness, terror…… anything and everything in between. Ruby is a headstrong and independent woman and it shows. But she is also tarnished with the memory or the lack of memory that makes her very much question everything. Moreover, I think there was a lack of descriptiveness about the surroundings, though the emotions were descriptive and touching.

I have to warn sensitive readers, this book does contain scenes of torture that some may find graphic and particularly disturbing.

This book is a romance but it’s also so much more; there’s also regret, forgiveness, strength and hope. I would very much recommend it to anyone with a love of Historical Romance.

Vividly detailed, this is enough to make you blush, so I wouldn’t recommend a read of it on the train or any place public. Hot and sensual, it sure got me breathing hard and all worked up.

There is no pretense of a plot, but in a sense that made it better. I liked how the author focused only on Catie and Ry, and their naughty call.
