Carlene Lovelle, co-owner of Bless My Bloomers lingerie shop, found a pair of fancy red-silk panties in her husband’s briefcase, and all hell is breaking loose. She custom-made those fancy bloomers herself—and she remembers the bimbo who bought them. If her husband had a lick of sense, he’d known there are no secrets in a town like Cadillac.

Carlene’s cohorts—and their mamas—plan to exact revenge on Lenny Joe where it’ll hurt the most: break his ten-year winning streak at the prestigious Red-Hot Chili Cook-Off. Never before has a woman dared to compete. But the ladies of Bless My Bloomers are cooking up a storm…and it seems the whole town is taking sides in the showdown.

Welcome to Cadillac, Texas, where the chili is hot, the gossip is hotter, and friends stick by each other, no matter what the challenge.

Carlene was living happily ever after. She has her own business and is doing well with it. She loves her husband and life was good. At least it was until she finds a pair of fancy-red silk panties in his briefcase and recognizes them. She made them for a client. And it appears her husband has been sleeping with the client. Carlene sees red all right, but it’s not just the panties!

Ms. Brown writes a rollicking romance story about a romance gone bad and several more going right. She takes three cousins and their mothers and combines their talents to make Lenny Joe regret stepping out on Carlene. The women are feisty, very different personalities, and they protect those they love. The husbands would be happy to help, but the women are sneakier and enjoying watching Lenny suffer.

The author got my attention when Carlene goes to confront her husband and runs into the woman who bought the red panties; she works at the same agency. As she talks about her hot weekend, she has no idea she’s fanning the flames of Carlene’s temper. When Lenny tells her to stop being silly and quit leaning against the corvette, she does. She climbs up on top of it with her heels and puts holes in the car top and hood. Can you imagine? He gets even by smashing her grandmother’s glass candlesticks, which breaks her heart.

It’s not over yet, though. There are more repercussions for Lenny, and the women are bound and determined to win the chili cook-off. Lenny has for years and they’re going to take that away from him. The fact that none of them know to cook shouldn’t matter. They just need a good recipe…

There are misadventures, food poisoning, and batches of chili everywhere before they’re through. It’s a good romp through the world of cooking and the final batch is something else. I don’t think I’ll make my chili that way. Ms. Brown added some cayenne pepper to her story and it’s a very enjoyable read. Why don’t you try it?

Marona Posey delivers a magnificent start to the “Look Away” series. The first novel in the series is highly entertaining, and a fascinating mix of history and mystery. I found the novel very impressive and difficult to put down.  The characters are well developed and given likable personalities. Even though they were near poverty in the beginning of the book and things worked out financially well for them during their journey, their lives weren’t perfect. They did have to endure hardship in other ways. This to me made their lives more realistic and believable.

I do have to mention that the novel did have more than a few editorial typos through out the book.

Looking at the Hallmark picturesque bookcover I would not think this novel would be packed with such action and attention grabbing adventure. I am a happy reader and thank Mrs. Posey for an astonishingly exciting experience with characters that I look forward to following in the next installment of the Look Away series.

Two identical twin sisters – one a sexually repressed defense attorney, the other a former libertine now living a respectable life in suburbia – are about to have their darkest secrets revealed, to the men in their lives and to themselves. As one sister prepares for the thorniest trial of her career and the other fends off ominous advances from a construction worker laboring on the house next door, both find themselves pushed to the edge, and confronted by discoveries about themselves and their lovers that shock and disturb them.

Two sisters embark on inner journeys that will dredge up the inner most secrets of their lives.

Leda and Lillian are two sisters that seem at first glance to be complete polar opposites. One is a successful attorney seemingly content with her life; the other is a former porn star who has settled down in the middle of suburbia.

In September 2008, Richmond International Raceway announced on a Friday afternoon that it was moving a Saturday generika cialis night Sprint Cup race to Sunday afternoon because of a tropical-storm forecast. Sex, of course, varies & the exhilaration & stress may non prescription viagra well pump out additional adrenaline. It is clear that nerve signals from the gut area is not just responsible for digestion but is at least partially implicated in many discount viagra brain disorders has lead scientists to understand what Taoists and Yogis have been saying for thousands of years. Leda and her husband Stas have just moved into their new house. When domestic bliss is interrupted by facilities issues, the handyman working for their neighbor comes to the rescue. Only…is it what it seems or is he really using their house problems to stalk Leda? Pregnant with a young child, Leda becomes increasingly afraid of Jack. Her husband, Stas is equally thrilling and terrifying. Leda is hiding some secrets from her very sexy younger husband and Jack has just figured out who she used to be. Should she tell Stas about her past, but even more importantly, about Jack? What will he do? It seems like her Russian husband has a few skeletons in his own closet.

This first part of the book was rife with bitterness and complex emotions that one would have moving into a new house. Neither husband nor wife know everything about the other and as Leda becomes more and more terrified everything is magnified for her. The sex with her husband, the fear of what he will do to her when he finds out about her very naughty video. When Jack winds up missing, she is almost certain Stas had something to do with it. Every nerve ending is thrilled with the concept of loving such a dangerous man. But…did he really do it?

The second half of the book is about Lillian, Leda’s very repressed sister. Lil is married to Darren, but their marriage has been reduced to timing their marital activities to try to conceive. It breaks her heart that Leda is already has one child and is expecting another when she can’t even get pregnant. Completely bound by her own expectations, Lillian is very uptight and angry. When she finds Leda’s porn video hidden in Darren’s things, she loses it. Confronting him only adds another layer of ice on the glacier.

The matter is made more complex by the current case Lillian is working on. Abel is a blind developer accused of taking a bribe. His assistant Nan is always present and there is something between the two of them that strikes a chord in Lillian. Abel is a married man, but she can see Nan always there…until she isn’t. Nan is devoted to Abel in a way that he can barely understand. A professional submissive, Nan will do anything for him and in doing so could either damn him to prison or save him completely. If only he hadn’t cast her away. Lillian learns more about Nan and is drawn to it, even as she is repulsed by the sexuality of it.

Lillian begins a journey into Nan’s world, wanting to satisfy a compulsion that started when she watched Leda’s video. What is the fascination with BDSM? Why would a woman want to be submissive and subjected to the things that go on at the Nutcracker, the local dungeon? Lillian is about to embark on a soul wrenching voyage into her own inner darkness, but doing so will allow her to embrace her own demons and finally be able to set herself free.

These two stories wound themselves together seamlessly and I could not get enough. The old style cover brought to mind stories of the 1970s, as did some of the language. Not much mind you. Just when I felt myself drifting back in time, a modern phrase would remind me “when” I was. The complex relationship between sisters is also highlighted here. Love…hate…jealousy…bitterness. It’s all there, ripped open and gasping for air. Leda with her family while Lillian weeps alone in her cold marriage bed—it’s reality. We always want what the other has, even when it makes us feel petty and spiteful. That is the hidden gem inside of this amazing book. Elissa Wald scrapes across every emotion and makes it real. The book is classified as erotic, but there really isn’t much in the way of actual sex scenes. It is the heightened sexual tension and the discovery of the darker, meatier sides of married women as vibrant beings that puts the spark in this tale. Just don’t forget the dangerous men that share their beds. That would be very remiss indeed and you might have to be punished.

If you are looking for a different kind of read that will want to make you cuff yourself to the bed, then you have to try The Secret Lives of Married Women.

Salomeh Jones is a Brooklyn high school teacher whose attempt to aid an abused student ruins her career and puts her life in jeopardy. Julian Tamali is a special agent hot on the trail of the Albanian mafia boss responsible for a slew of crimes, including the death of Julian’s family. When Julian finds a connection between the mafia boss and the disgraced school teacher, he sets into motion a series of events that will change their lives forever.

A night of pleasure throws them into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the man who has kidnapped Salomeh’s student and is possibly providing weapons to terrorists. Caught in a web of passion, danger, and betrayal, Julian and Salomeh must stop the mafia boss or forfeit their chance at redemption—and their lives.

Be the heroine of your life, not the victim. These are words that Salomeh has said to her students and friends and words she put into action. Eagle’s Heart is a believable action full novel that I enjoyed reading. It is an adrenaline powered ride that I wasn’t expecting. A well written rigid action suspense with a blend of romance.

A beautiful night with the sky filled with fireworks at a rooftop party, Julian is captured at the first sight of Salomeh. Salomeh is suspicious that Julian is a reporter trying to get information about the allegations against her or worse, he could be working for Bardhyn. But neither is true. With all the mayhem going on, Julian and Salomeh find time to escape reality and have a pleasurable night of fantasy.

I enjoyed that Salomeh was a stand up and fight for herself kind of woman. Julian has a dark past but changes his life around to do better, building in him a strong character to see that Bardhyn answers for his criminal ways. Two strong main characters both together brings about a satisfying vibrant read.

The author contrived a clever plot that gave a fresh new storyline that was unpredictable. Bardhyn is a bad guy that is easy to hate. With dealings of weapons, drugs, selling of girls and much more illegal activity. The author throws in car explosions, arson and a family member whose mind has been poisoned by his lies.

There were a few sentences overlooked in the editing processed and I didn’t care for the use of the charactor’s first name some parts of the book and then later in the book use of their last name.

Salomeh’s career and life are on the line and Julian’s desperate attempts to save her could cost both their lives. I enjoyed each exciting moment and encourage everyone to get a copy today!

What do you think you’re really good at?

So often I hear women answering this with “being a mom”, but I’m not one of those women where mothering comes easy. I work at it constantly and am still learning every day. I’m trying to be great at it, but it’s like hitting a moving target. Being a mom is fun, though. Each little laugh is worth it!

Otherwise, I’m in a stage where I remember what I used to be great at, but my body won’t allow for that greatness to linger. For example, I’ve always been very sporty, but right now I barely go for a run. It’s kind of a gray zone of self-discovery as I head toward the middle thirties. I really want to get great at yoga, though. That’s more my speed these days than high-impact sports. There are things I hate about getting older, and things I really love.

What do you think you’re really bad at?

Patience. I have no patience. I walk fast, I think fast, and I go-go-go. Maintaining patience is something I have to constantly strive for. When the husband and daughter are out with me somewhere, on the same speed of slow, I often have to shut down like a robot to keep from banging my head against a wall. It’s my biggest failing and drives me crazy, but there you go.

Is your life anything like it was two years ago?

It’s pretty similar. My daughter is just about three, so since she was born my life is vastly different than before she was born. I think most parents find that. Right now, though, with an added element of publishing books (two years ago I never thought I’d publish my means of escaping), my time is sucked away something fierce. I love being an accountant, so I am still doing some contracting work, but the writing gig is becoming a full time thing. At least for now. Like I said, I have two speeds—fast and stop. I’m on fast right now, so I’m working really hard to get everything going. Hopefully I’ll let myself take a break soon.

Have you ever had an imaginary friend?

Not that I remember. I daydream a lot, though, especially when I’m doing the accounting work. That’s where I come up with all the story ideas and characters. I imagine I am somewhere else getting to know the various different kinds of people. Stories take shape, then, and I have to write them down and develop them to keep the daydream alive.

Do you have any phobias?

Absolutely. Small spaces is a huge one. I was in Egypt once exiting a pyramid behind a few of my tour-mates. The “doorway” was a tunnel about four feet high and three feet wide. Halfway through the tunnel I started to panic with the small space and crowd of people and freaked out. I nearly bowled people out of my way to get out. That was terrible.

Ever broken any bones?

I haven’t. *knock on wood*

MEDIA KIT Into the DarknessI’d always been different. I saw objects in the night where others saw emptiness. Large, human shaped shadows, fierce yet beautiful, melting into the darkness. I collected secrets like other women collected bells; afraid to fully trust lest my oddities be exposed.

Until I saw him. He’d been gliding down the street, unshakable confidence in every step. It wasn’t just that he was breathtakingly handsome with perfect features. Something about him drew me. Sucked my focus to him and then tugged at my body. As his eyes met mine, I was entrapped.

No one had noticed him. He’d been right there, just beyond the light, but only I had perceived.

I had to know if he was real. Or maybe I really was crazy. And even when my secret box was blasted wide open, dangers hurled at me like throwing knives, I couldn’t stop until I unraveled his true identity.

I just had to know.

“She was fated to live.”
“Then why must you save her?”
“Often Fate is struck down by dumb luck.”

Ex-Army Ranger Tyrell Castillo’s first mission for Lost and Found, Inc. goes awry when his contact is kidnapped, and he’s left scrambling for weapons and explosives. He’ll have to blow up a drug cartel’s compound, rescue the woman, and keep her safe while they cross the sweltering hot Colombian jungle.

Driven by the need for revenge, Ana Maria Vega Cisneros doesn’t want to be rescued. She wants revenge. She’ll risk her life to ensure the drug lord who killed her family suffers the same fate.

The cartel leaves a trail of blood on their hunt for Ty and Ana. When Ty receives the order to kill the drug lord with extreme prejudice, he and Ana will face the enemy head on. Can Ty protect the woman who’s hell bent on vengeance? The woman he’s grown to love?

Read an exciting excerpt:

Ty retrieved his knife, dragged the heavy body away from the door, and quickly moved to the figure next to the metal headboard.

Ana Cisneros stood close to the window. Craning her neck to see outside, she was unaware he’d entered the room. With no time for introduction, he reached around and clamped his hand over her mouth.

As expected, he’d startled her. She fought, slinging her body back and forth like a wet dog. She kicked at him, so he whirled her around and jerked her body snug against his.

“Quit struggling. I’m here to help you,” he whispered, trying to sound reassuring. No doubt, with the flames outside casting an eerie glow, he looked like an alien. A man wearing night-vision goggles, geared up with a pistol on his hip and another in a holster strapped to his thigh, and a rifle over his shoulder would scare most anybody. Not to mention the machete sheathed on his back and the SOG knife in his hand. “Do you understand?”

He took the slight movement of her head as a yes and relaxed the pressure off her lips. His reward? She bit his finger and pummeled his ribs with her free fist.

What the hell? The lamb had attacked the lion.

About the Author:

A student of creative writing in her youth, Jerrie set aside her passion when life presented her with a John Wayne husband, and two wonderful children. A career in logistics offered her the opportunity to travel to many beautiful locations in America, and she revisits them in her romantic suspense novels.

But the characters went with her, talked to her, and insisted she share their dark, sexy stories with others. She writes alpha males and kick-ass women who weave their way through death and fear to emerge stronger because of, and on occasion in spite of, their love for each other. She likes to torture people, make them suffer, and if they’re strong enough, they live happily ever after.

The author of THE GREEN-EYED DOLL, THE LAST EXECUTION, SOMONE TO WATCH OVER ME, and HELL OR HIGH WATER, book 1 in the Lost and Found, Inc. Jerrie lives in Texas, loves sunshine, children’s laughter, sugar (human and granulated), and researching for her heroes and heroines.

I love surprises. And this story was a great surprise for me, because I did not like it at first, at all. But fortunately after the second third the story found its momentum and I could not put it down.

Off Target is coming of age story. I is an interracial romance and it is also a tender family story. The main character of the tale is Sophie Mitchell, member of a high school team who likes marksmanship more than dating. She has her circle of friends and her family, and she is happy with her life. The story follows Sophie’s life from the age of seventeen till the early twenties and actually it is normal life, without too much drama, angst or ups and downs. What I liked about this story was its unpredictability. Whenever I thought that the story might go in one direction it ended up going in a completely different one, which turned out far better than the one I expected and that made me happy. Also, all the characters are likable; there are no villains here, just normal average people living normal lives.

As I already mentioned, I struggled a little with the story at the beginning, mostly because of the writing style. The author tended to insert these little snippets of conversation and it caused odd digressions in the story. That bothered me while reading because the snippets distracted me from the story line. Once the author stopped using those intrusive bits, the story became more fluid and much more enjoyable to read.

By the time I reached the end of the book I was thrilled that I stuck it out and read through the rough parts because the ending made me happy. The best description of my reading experience of this story is a quote from it: Sometimes life is like that mesh veil, Sophie thinks. You may think you know what’s under there; you can see the vague form, but until the veil is gone, and the light shines in all its revealing warmth, you don’t know, not really. And you might be surprised by what you find.

Off Target is a feel good story that I highly recommend.

To be honest, I didn’t like Melody at first. Several of the character traits she despises in other people are ones that she is just as guilty of. Not every protagonist has to be instantly likeable in order to tell a good story, though, and once I got to know her better I appreciated the fact that she was written so realistically. It was especially interesting to see the strengths in her personality slowly reveal themselves as the plot progresses.

I had a hard time understanding the relationship between Melody and Sutton. They share little in common and seem to have personalities that are about as different from one another as two people can get. It was also difficult to figure out why either one of them would risk their reputations under these circumstances. Melody especially would have a lot to lose in the time and place in which she lives if she becomes known as a loose woman.

The crisply detailed settings of this short story was a pleasure to read. Reading this tale at the end of a long, cold winter was a good choice for me due to the inclusion of a scene that happens at the same time of year. The author captures the damp, cold transition between winter and spring well. I could easily visualize the grey skies and muddy roads that Melody knows so well during that time of year.

It would have also been helpful had more time been spent on describing exactly how Melody’s abilities work. They seem to continue developing as she grows older, but I never quite understood what she can and cannot do with them. Discussing the topic in greater detail would have lead to a higher rating for this book.

I was also intrigued by all of the references to food in this tale. While this isn’t necessarily a topic I expected to see broached in an erotic short story, Ms. Lovely ties it all in quite well. Knowing what Melody and her neighbours crave helped me to understand their world better and kept me interested in what happens to them next.

Into the Fire is full of surprises. This is a good choice for anyone in the mood for something a little out of the ordinary.

But what the supernatural sex god and deliverer of souls doesn’t expect is to be taught a lesson in love from the young and beautiful Celestine.

In a night of passion, two lost spirits find solace in an impostor’s kiss: one longing for a love that doesn’t yet exist, the other drowning in pain and guilt over love lost. Neither is what they seem…but what they learn will change them forever…

The blurb of this story caught my attention and the actual book didn’t disappoint me. And if like me, you haven’t read the first book in this series, don’t worry about not knowing what’s going on because Ms. Mason gives a short introduction to the overall theme at the beginning of this story. Plus, she does a good job filling in even more details as the story progresses.

I liked the setting of this story which gave me a feel of the Scottish Highlands and the inn where the hero takes the injured boy.

While it’s a sexy read, there’s a slow build-up to the actual sex scenes. Considering these two people were strangers, these scenes came across as old lovers reuniting and making up for lost time which I think added to the enjoyment of the story. And of course there’s the paranormal element that was really the icing on the cake.

If you like historicals with a dose of the supernatural, I think this might be a good pick for you.

When the king commands former war hero Captain Jay Ghair to find him the perfect royal sex slave, Jay’s quiet new life as a librarian is shattered. Jay discovers the boy he’s looking for in Alix, a lowly miner and wannabe court scientist, whom Jay can’t help but secretly adore. However, teaching the rebellious Alix to be a docile slave is difficult. Alix will behave for just one man, and it isn’t the king. It’s Jay.

Standing by while the king’s treatment of Alix becomes cruel is torturous for Jay. He longs to return to his library, yet he can’t bear to leave Alix, or his people, unprotected. To rescue Alix—and save the realm from the increasingly tyrannical king—Jay must confront the demons of his military past and take up the sword again. But his most important battle must be won through returning Alix’s love and learning to master this bad slave who submits only for him.

This story brings into a world of kings and magic. Jay was once the savior of the land but that was many years ago. Since he came home, he has chosen to hide away from the world in his library but when he is summoned to the castle by the king he finds a very different world than when he was last out in it. He finds a spoiled boy on the throne who cares more for his own selfish needs than those of his people and yet this is man he must obey. Jay is not happy to do this king’s bidding but he does and brings back a slave for his enjoyment. Alix is the man Jay finds for the king but as time goes on Jay may not be able to let Alix go. The two must find out just where their relationship stands even if it means death. Alix and Jay both find that they must make hard decisions that they must live with.

I enjoyed watching the relationship between Jay and Alix take shape. Jay has done his duty by finding a new slave for the king to play with but the torture he puts Alix through and the growing feelings that Jay has for Alix makes Jay confused and begin to question his beliefs. This story not only brings us Alix and Jay’s story but also one of a king’s choices and their consequences. Jay and Alix are both good men and seeing them find happiness in any way that they can made for a nice read. The two make a great couple showing that good men come in all shapes. Whether you are a king, a soldier or a miner it is what is inside you not what you have. This author does a good job of bringing the reader into the wondrous world that they created and keeps you entertained until the very end.
