PSIONIC SCI FI The inevitable fusion of man, machine and the paranormal The Universal Government has found an enticing strategy to bolster cooperation and membership. Each planet remains free to determine for itself what constitutes an unacceptable faction. The Universal Government will remove the members of that faction and employ them on the Hive Planet. Workers of the Hive are addicted to a wonderful and all-encompassing drug that can only be earned by working, thus converting each planet’s formerly unproductive and dangerous elements into a universal workforce that provides the ultimate interplanetary temp service across a truly universal web. Since its creation, only one person has ever escaped the Hive Planet: A newborn, fully implanted with compu-link interface temple plates, but not yet introduced to the drug. He now leads a Dark Ops unit for The Gov on a mission to uncover a psionic ring of criminals who have inexplicably taken control of an important Government Ambassador. What they find will change the universe.

Rael is the only person ever to escape from the Hive planet, a planet inhabited by all the criminals and dissidents from the rest of the Universal Government’s system of planets. The workers of the Hive are treated with an addictive drug which makes them feel wonderful, but only if they work as part of the ultimate interplanetary temp service across a universal web. Rael was rescued as an infant and adopted by Marion Mahata, the head of Dark Ops Central Command for the Universal Government. He had already been implanted with the compu-link which all Hive workers have, but he had not been given any of the addictive drug.

Mary Andrews has included three short stories in this edition of her novel so that we get to meet Rael as an eighteen-year-old when he begins his training with his own ship, Nemesis, and then fifteen years later as he begins to assemble his own special team. By the time the novel begins, the reader already knows not only Rael, but also Laynald, a healer as well as an assassin, and Ira, a telepathic teenager. Fireborn Found takes place five years after the last short story, by which time the Nemesis Dark Ops team has become fully functional, a bonding of man, machine, and the paranormal.

The story line is well-crafted and the pace is fast-moving and exciting. There are mysteries to be solved, and the plot has a lot of twists and turns. I found the descriptions of the various planets in the stories to be fascinating. But what I enjoyed the most was the characters and how Rael with his compu-link works with the telepathic Ira and Laynald, who has no supernatural powers at all. Even though these three men are very different, they work extremely well together. It is true that Ira gets a headache if he is too close to Rael when Rael is using his compu-link, and Laynald and Rael both find it difficult to be in situations where telepathic communication is going on, but in spite of their differences, they have bonded together into a complete team capable of carrying out a wide variety of assignments.

This is the first novel in a trilogy and I am definitely hooked and ready for the next two (which thankfully are already published). Readers of all ages who enjoy fantasy with a paranormal twist will be captivated by Fireborn Found.

Kyle likes being alone on Submission Island. The only exceptions are the other three Doms with whom he owns the place and the women who pay to play with them. He certainly doesn’t want a whole movie crew filming on his island home. So when bossy Teresa comes to scout the location, he’s not happy about her presence. Even though she is easy on the eyes.

Teresa doesn’t know what to make of Kyle. He’s blunt. He’s an unabashed sexual sadist. He doesn’t know how to compromise. She’s an independent woman who is used to getting her way with men. But curiosity drives her to see what sex with a Dominant is like. She discovers she has more of a taste for his kinky games than she ever expected, and soon she’s aching for his rope, his whips and his kisses.

Submission Island is a beautiful place and Kyle prefers to be there alone except when women pay to play on the island. So he’s a bit annoyed when he has to host a movie scout during his alone time, but Teresa is very attractive if a bit bossy.

Kyle is a sexual sadist and Teresa is used to being in charge in her relationships, watching these two learn about each other was a real treat. Teresa easily gives in and learns to love giving Kyle what he wants. While Kyle is a sexual sadist, he’s not one of those super scary Doms, he is definitely sadist light.

The story revolves around their sexual relationship and the scenes were off the charts. There is also a story line full of mystery that I think the author does a beautiful job of interlacing into Kyle and Teresa’s relationship.

I can definitely recommend this as a stand-alone story, and a trip to Submission Island is highly recommended to fans of BDSM love stories.

After years of attraction, is it worth the risk?

Delicia Wright is an EMT in her hometown of McKingley, New Mexico. A confident young woman who could handle anything life threw at her, or so she believed. How conveniently she forgot the one man in town who could turn her into a babbling idiot. He was a hard man to forget, but she managed to put him in the back of her mind, along with all her fantasies of the two of them.

Archer Bennett is a through and through blue-collar man who has callouses on his hands and—most of the time—grease under his nails. He knows hard work. Unfortunately for him, the woman he desires above all else was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and to some of her family he would always be ‘the boy from the wrong side of the tracks’. So for now, all he can do is observe her from a distance.

When the opportunity arises he makes known his attraction to her and is ecstatic to know she feels the same. But with interfering family and a past that seems destined to return and bite him, can Archer convince her the best pleasures are risky pleasures?

Pelvic tadalafil online in uk inflammatory disease – It’s a kind of uterus and fallopian tube infection that shells due to conditions like chlamydia, gonorrhoea or other related sexually transmitted diseases. Delicia Wright worked as an EMT in her small New Mexico town; she was also training for the triathlon which was only three months away. Delicia was one of those women who could handle any situation she encountered, so why did she find herself tripping over her words when it came to Archer Bennet? How long has she had a crush on this man who made her feel so weak she could melt?

Archer Bennett owned Bennett Towing and was the type of man that usually went after what he wanted, except for when it came to Delicia Wright. However, he was determined not to let her cousin Justin or anyone else such as her family, come between his getting Delicia as his own.

Risky Pleasures is the third book in the McKingley series, the first being All the Wright Moves which is the story of her oldest sister Katiya Wright and Warwick Taylor. The second book in the series, The Best Thing Yet is the romantic story of her second sister Arissa Wright and Deiter Schneider. Risky Pleasures can be read as a standalone but it may enhance your reading pleasure if the other books in the series were read as well.

I enjoyed the chemisty between Archer and Delicia and I liked how the author brought them together. It was also a nice twist having Delicia’s cousin, Justin, there because he displayed so much hate and animosity towards Archer it made the reader want to know what their history was. That history was slowly revealed as Justin and Archer’s hatred became more intense, and it was something that was unexpected. It was nice to see that Archer was just a hard working man with calluses and grease under his nails, and Delicia although born into a well to do family, was very down to earth.

Risky Pleasures is a good read and McKenna Jeffries and Aliyah Burke presented very likeable characters, with just the right amount of heat. The underlying story of her cousin Justin was a plus because it helped round out the story. Some of the characters from the first two books made brief appearances in this one, that’s why I would say it would be a good idea to read the first two.

She vowed to protect her heart…

Andie Shayne believes in forever…for everyone else. She has an up-and-coming wedding planning business, and her own failed engagement, to prove it. Now, all Andie wants is to save the date for Seaglass Celebrations becoming a premier destination wedding resort. And making sure the wedding of the summer goes off without a hitch will get her there – despite the arrival of one unexpected guest.

But with desire reigniting on Turtle Island, Mark realizes he never stopped loving Andie. He wants her; and this time, he’s determined to do it right.

So the title says it all, right? Ex on the Beach. Not so … there is more to this book than meets the eye.

The author has created a main character in Andie Shayne who is both complicated and delightful. She has tried all her life to succeed at SOMETHING. She was left at the altar four years ago; lost her job at the same time, include with that a bad relationship with her mother. It all amounts to quite a burden. Now, she is about to lose her Aunt Ginny’s house due to complications. Who knew floods and hurricanes would interfere with her plans to make money as a destination-wedding venue and pay off the loan? We cheer her determination at making something of her life, while helping others.

Of course, Fate lends a hand and who should show up to the island as best man to the next wedding but her ex – Mark. Yes, the one who left her at the altar. Let us face it; I was expecting fireworks to go off once these two met again.  I was correct. It was impressive to read how quickly she dealt him a blow to both his pride and body.

I could not put this book down. Let us say that I was half-asleep in my bed and had to turn the lights back on and continue reading. Andie was doing everything in her power to deliver the wedding of the bride’s dream to save her Aunt’s house while Mark was doing everything in his power to get Andie back. I just had to find out what else could go wrong and how they were going to achieve their goals.

This is a delightful, emotional and sensitive story of growing up, facing our shortcomings and seeking acceptance. It is a book I am sure I will re-read at some future date and smile while I re-acquaint myself with these flawed and very human characters in their search for their place in life and happiness.

Charlie has to solve the puzzle and discover who his true allies are. He needs to unlock the magic and return to his world to help the elves stop a war.

Kyra Dune has written an action-packed story filled not only with intrigue and betrayal, but also with love and sacrifice. Charlie is a strong character, richly defined. In addition, Dune has portrayed many of the other characters easily and fully by narrating events from several different perspectives. This use of multiple points of view is very effective and allows the reader to understand what is going on in each of the character’s head, gaining a greater understanding of both the characters and the story. The reader is thus able to see into the hearts of the various characters, something that is very important in a plot that is all about betrayal. However, even with this insight, the plot still takes on some unexpected twists and turns along the way.

This book is a sequel to The Silver Catacombs, and while it certainly stands alone and is a complete and exciting story all by itself, I was very glad that I had already read The Silver Catacombs. Knowing the history of the land and the relationships between the characters made this book much richer. I would certainly recommend reading both books. In fact, given the lengths of these books I would love to see them combined into one volume.

City of Magic is the story of a heroic quest and also coming of age for several of the characters. It is a fun book, filled with action, but also a book which raises some important themes of loyalty, honesty, and of course, good and evil. Anyone who enjoys fantasy will certainly enjoy reading City of Magic.

Finding My Place is the story of 13-year-old Anna Green and her family’s struggles during the Siege of Vicksburg (Mississippi) in 1863 during the War Between the States. Anna lives in caves, eats rats, works in an army hospital, experiences her first love, and strives to keep her family together during this horrible time. Anna learns where she belongs in more ways than one while Grant’s cannons shoot over Vicksburg day and night, causing misery and grief for Vicksburg’s citizens.

Anna is thirteen and trying to adjust to life at war. Her father and brother are fighting in the Civil War and Vicksburg is being shelled. Will they all make it through?

Anna has neighbors she loves and those she’s not fond of. She wishes the war was over and the men in her life were for home. She also especially wishes she didn’t have to live in a cave.

The author makes these feelings realistic; Anna is no better than she should be. She is a bit educated; she can read and write. But she’s no good at sewing and cooking.

I like the way the author introduces the blacks into the story. How they are treated is reflected by the family that owns them. There is discussion of a mean action by one nasty lady, but there is no other punishment in this story, so it’s safe for younger ages.

The story really starts getting intense when the shelling kills Anna’s mother. She has her little brother and sister and some limited food, but they can’t live on their own. Once they are sent from “cave to cave” for shelter, she ends up living with the worst lady in the neighborhood. Somehow I knew that was coming.

The light that shines in this story comes out at the latter part. Anna decides she’s not buckling down anymore. Ms. Dill makes her a rock that can’t be moved. She also helps her grow up enough to take care of her own. Life might never be the same, but Anna’s family will survive.

Not only is this a good read for young learners, there are questions in the back you can use for home schooling and additional resources for educational purposes. This author does an excellent job of giving you enough information to teach a class. That’s a very nicely done job.

We’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement this year. This is a good way of getting insight on how they were treated. Why not add a copy of this book to your curriculum?

In 1950s Australia, during the height of the divisive White Australia Policy, Virginia, a young Aboriginal girl is taken from her home and put to work on an isolated and harsh outback station. Her only solace: the violin, taught to her secretly by the kind-hearted wife of the abusive station owner. However, Virginia’s prodigious musical gift cannot save her from years of hardship and racism.

Decades later, her eight year old granddaughter Ruby plays the violin with the passion Virginia once possessed. Amidst poverty, domestic violence and social dysfunction, Ruby escapes her circumstance through her practice with her grandmother’s frail, guiding hand. Ruby’s zeal attracts the attention of an enigmatic music professor and with his help, she embarks on an incredible journey of musical discovery that will culminate in a rare opportunity. But with two cultural worlds colliding, her gift and her ambition will be threatened by deeply ingrained distrust, family jealousies and tragic secrets that will define her very identity.

Langston Hughes once wrote, “what happens to a dream deferred?”… Sixty years ago a dream was ripped away from a musically gifted girl by racism and abuse in the 1950s. Will her equally talented granddaughter overcome the same insurmountable obstacles, or will history repeat itself?

You can discover more about the underlying cause and engaging in appropriate penis care, cialis price canada most cases of ED can be caused by the damage of nerves that contribute to its function. This is one of the most beautifully written books I’ve read so far in 2013. The settings are described in such painstaking detail that at times they feel like additional characters. When Virigina first arrives at the ranch where she would spend her formative years I could almost taste the gritty air and feel the unforgiving sun beating down on my back. Her granddaughter Ruby’s ramshackle childhood home is equally memorable, and I winced every time its fragile existence was punctuated by violence.

Ruby is described as an eight year old girl, but she speaks and acts like someone several years older. Given her ability to solve complex problems, process traumatic experiences, and travel around the city on her own it would have been more realistic to portray her as an eleven or twelve year old. She is a likeable protagonist, but some of her abilities and insights seem precocious for such a young child.

Two antagonists have story lines that are never sufficiently resolved. While I understand how difficult it can be to step into the shoes of people who are abusive or racist I would have preferred to see their characters fleshed out more. The motives and choices of other characters are eventually revealed to be much more complex than one would have previously assumed, and had the same been done for the antagonists this book would have easily earned 4 stars.

Virginia was by far my favourite character of them all. At the beginning of it I met her as an innocent little girl who lived a simple, happy life with her mother. Her personality and mental health are forever altered by years of abuse, and as much as I would have liked to peek into the dark years of her early adulthood my curiosity was ultimately satisfied by getting to know her in her twilight years. The mistakes she made as a parent have echoed through the generations, and it was satisfying to see her working to correct them.

Gifts of the Peramangk is an achingly beautiful story about perseverance and hope that I wished would never end. Dean Mayes clearly cares deeply about his characters, and his dedication to them shines through. I highly recommend this tale.

When everything comes to a head, Dusty focuses on one thing: What happened the night her brother was killed in the cemetery? She’s sure Shane is keeping a secret and she’s determined to find out what it is, one way or another.

On the edge of my seat… yes, that is how this book had me. I could not put it down until the end. I love it when I pick books like this!

This small town in the upper Michigan peninsula is your typical rural town… or is it? It quickly became apparent that things are not as they should be. People our heroine Dusty has known all her life are not what they seem. There is an undercurrent flowing through the town and she is determined to find out what is going on.

She and her twin brother have just graduated from high school and are both looking forward to college. These plans derail in the most gruesome way. Dusty is a smart, beautiful and strong character. She is at the cusp of her teenage years, but not yet an adult. The journey she undertakes will bring her face to face with the reality that things (and people) are not always, what they seem. You must always stay alert to discover what is beneath the surface.

I enjoyed watching the love affair between Dusty and Shane. It brought back memories of the love/hate feelings I used to have for a boy in high school, not knowing exactly why I felt that way. Shane is a hero in my eyes. He is far more mature than he seems. Branded the town’s bad boy, Shane ignores what people think and lives his life according to his own rules of morality and decency. He has quite an impact on Dusty. Their love affair flourishes regardless of the pressures of public opinion.

This brilliantly written standalone novel by Emme Rollins will be worth your while. The running theme in this story is that things in life will surprise, you must watch for what is beneath the surface and guide your life according to what you think is best. You will not be disappointed!

So while she has been interested in the BDSM scene for a while now, she is equal parts frightened and weary as she is turned on. Watching Cyn overcome her fears, trust her men, and find the confidence to fully enjoy a taboo that consumes her thoughts was a privilege.

My only complaint was the lack of character development for Jared and Chris. I needed a bit more from them. While they were sexy, sweet, and commanding, they lacked the depth I wanted for them. I especially expected more from Chris who, let’s face it, was my favorite with his intense and brooding nature. I desperately wanted to see his growth and healing after his horrific childhood. I also wish we’d gotten to see more one-on-one action between Cyn and each of our delectable heroes, as they stated how important for them to have their own time in addition to the play they engaged in together.

This book is perfect for anyone who has a secret fetish or fantasy, as it has a little bit of something for everyone. Overall, this is an engaging read, with a little bit of heart and a lot of kink thrown in. The trio will leave you wanting to be spanked and teased by two delicious Doms. You’ll ache to play a sexy librarian with an audience that may or may not provide assistance. And you may just need to run to the hardware store to pick up some rope.

The pack had been attacked by hunters who killed her parents and most of the rest of the pack. Victoria has obligations to both her decimated pack and the Goddess which results in many complications. The Goddess tells Victoria to head to Sierra Pines, California, where she will meet a suitable alpha male to help her rebuild the pack. She knows she must do this on a number of levels, but she doesn’t find it at all easy because she is fiercely independent, not to mention stubborn.

Melissa Snark has written a wonderful fantasy novel which bridges the worlds of the Norse gods and modern day California. It also bridges the worlds of gods and werewolves, giving real depth to both. Snark makes the merging of these very different cultures not only work, but work in a most believable manner.

I like Victoria. She is a wonderfully conflicted heroine, feeling guilty over the deaths of her parents and a large part of the pack, feeling badly that she hasn’t been able to protect the remaining pack members as well as she’d like, but also determined to do whatever it takes to protect her pack and ensure its survival. She meets her match in Arik Koenig, a powerful, dominant male wolf. But she also realizes that he and his son, Logan, have a dark history. Some of that history is twenty years old, but some of it is very recent. Victoria needs to learn more about Arik and Logan before she can be sure it is a good idea to bring them into her pack.

The story is fast-paced and filled with action and suspense. There is a mystery to solve; things are not what they seem to be. It takes all of Victoria’s skills as both a werewolf and a Valkyrie to keep her pack safe.

This is a fantasy novel which is sure to capture the hearts of many readers. Well-developed characters and an intricate plot are just the start. The strongest aspect of this novel is, I believe, the merging of two very different worlds into a complete and exciting whole.
