Eclipsed by darkness, the Romelands must face the ultimate quest. If they are forced toward the umbra peak, they will be completely obscured.

Symone struggles with her most challenging battles … the conflict within herself. Losing loved ones steals part of her soul. Despair has created a gaping hole where her heart should be. Symone doesn’t even recognize herself. She has to determine if this is the person she’s turned into, or if it is who she has always been.

But she’s not sure if she can have a relationship with him or where that could lead her. Embracing love could make her whole again, but it may also destroy her. Symone must travel through the opaque light in order to find where her destiny lies.

Symone’s family, Shiray and Syira, continue to fight in the feuds of their galaxy. Together they have to find the balance between compassion and sacrifice. Kadanans are being held captive, and they hold the fate of their world in their hands. They have only begun to understand the consequences of the devastating realities of war.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, is the philosophy the Romelands now abide by. With chaos and turmoil at every corner, they may forget what is worth fighting for. The surge for power has erupted. Only the strongest race will be left standing.

This book is the last of a trilogy and is the culmination of action that occurred during the first two books – the end of a war that has been raging between two different worlds. While it would probably increase your enjoyment of the book to have read the previous two books, it’s not completely necessary.  There’s character development and responses between the characters from this book that starts in the previous books, but this one was still enjoyable and understandable as it stands.

I did not get as fully immersed in the story as I would have liked, but instead I felt more like I was on the outside looking in.  That’s a result of the story having too much “telling” and not enough “showing”. That said, I enjoyed the story itself and could definitely see this as a television show or movie. It reminded me in tone of some of the space operas I’ve enjoyed in the past.

The plot line was interesting and held my attention, even though I did not connect with the characters as much as I’d hoped—it would be interesting to this reader to go back and discover what the war was actually all about in the beginning.

Rora is the Pandora of Greek legend who released evil onto the world, but kept hopelessness from escaping. For centuries she protected The Box, but now Prometheus has appeared and issued a warning that Eris, goddess of discord, and Nemesis, god of revenge, have sent the infamous Gorgons after The Box. Seeing him again sets Rora’s emotions into a tailspin and dredges up memories of a painful and passionate past. The Titan and she share centuries of relationship baggage. And she loves him, but he’s never confessed to loving her. The tension is thick between them, the energy electric. In no time they’ve surrendered to their passion, but the arrival of the Gorgons puts them, The Box, and mankind in danger.

How much longer can Pandora bear the burden of The Box?

The story of Pandora and The Box is a familiar story from Greek mythology, but even if you haven’t read it, the history of Pandora, The Box, and Prometheus is explained very clearly. I was intrigued by the idea of Pandora living an endless life still bound to The Box. What would that kind of responsibility do to a person and the people they care about? I started reading eager to learn the answer.

Pandora, now known as Rora, has lived centuries protecting The Box from those who wish to harm humans, and now she has reached her breaking point. Prometheus is the only man Rora has ever loved, though their relationship has been tumultuous to say the least. Every time they’ve tried to make their relationship work, The Box and their history managed to drive them apart. It is a frustrating, never ending cycle, and it is easy to see why Rora is exhausted and practically ready to give up. Now Prometheus has learned of a new threat to Rora and The Box and once again they are drawn together. Rora has always loved Prometheus, but can she’s not sure he feels the same way. Does he come back for her, or The Box?

I do wish there had been more time for Rora and Prometheus to reconnect. While they have centuries of history, there weren’t many details provided to make it come alive. I truly wanted to feel the weight of Rora and Prometheus’ bond, but from the moment he walks through Rora’s door, everything happens so quickly that their relationship wasn’t as compelling as it could have been. I liked them, but when I finished reading I didn’t feel as if I truly knew them.

Prometheus makes some big decisions regarding his relationship with Rora and the path their future will take. While I have no doubt that these changes will be for the better, I was left wondering why now? This isn’t the first time they’ve found themselves in danger, so why the change or heart? Was it simply the right time, or something else? I just wish I could have had more insight into Promethus’ thought process.

Despite these issues, I had fun reading Pandora’s Passion. It is a quick, fast paced, entertaining short story that can easily be read in one sitting. I recommend this romance to anyone looking for a snapshot in the life of a passionate couple.

Now Mitch is interested.

Neither of them counted on those who don’t want Nikko to leave….

The club, the night, the music…and Nikko. It’s a great combination.

Mitch is instantly attracted to him and vice versa, but this is where the plot thickens. Mitch sees there is something bad happening in the club and it’ll take him some time to figure it out. What he does know is the bad is hurting Nikko a lot. Once these two souls find their connection, a journey of trust, love and patience begins. I have to note this story has some hardcore scenes with blood and violence. It might not be for the faint hearted reader.

Once Mitch saves Nikko from the club, he realizes that it may take Nikko some to come to terms with what has happened. The poor man needs to heal now that he is free. There are a lot of plot twists to this story involving Nikko and his freedom. The story is as much about the their relationship as it is about how Nikko ended up working in the club. The author did a wonderful job with eliciting every kind of emotion that could be from me.  The first half of the book was fast and violent unlike the second half. The second half, in my opinion has a slow love story feel to it that I really enjoyed.

Debt was a mix of love, erotic, pain, violence and healing. This is the first time I’ve ever read a plot or a love story like this, but worth the read.

Beau Walker is a man without a field. Teaching at a backwater university after being dismissed from a government project because of his ethical concerns and bureaucratic maneuvers on the part of a one-time friend, Walker is an academic pariah until two soldiers appear one day. His former friend needs Walker’s expertise, and the professor—who is haunted by both his empathic abilities and the memory of the one time they failed him—has little choice but to cooperate
.
In the Russian city of Podol’sk, a project partially based on Walker’s work has gone horribly awry, killing thousands and leaving traces of mysteries that threaten humanity’s scientific understanding. Discovering what occurred, and how to prevent it from happening again, falls on Walker and his new friends…But as secrets and revelations accumulate, the team’s combined knowledge and abilities may be inadequate to stop what’s coming.

Blending the paranormal and science fiction in a thrilling mystery, Walker and his team race to find the key to SHIVA facing military intrigues and supernormal assassins. What is at stake? The eradication of life on earth by thought alone.

Are you equipped to face the unthinkable?

Would you like to read a book that not only entertains but causes you to rethink the human mind?

The SHIVA Syndrome is a read that draws the reader in from the first page. The story follows the nation’s top scientists as they research the devastating effects of the human mind gone awry. Beau Walker is a scientist with a secret, he is an extremely powerful empath and this research is right up his alley. As Beau and his team get closer to cracking the secret of what happened in Russia, they begin to realize that it is not too far out of the question that it can happen right in the United States.

The author lays out a solid storyline with strong characters and powerful backstories. As the story progresses, characters that blended into the background begin to take development and soon the reader is immersed in a world of espionage, secrets and lies. The descriptions, dialogue, and events portray the reality that this novel could be happening in reality right now. The research was strong and had a solid foundation leading the reader to understand that the author has immersed himself in research or has a background in the topics he is writing about.

I personally loved the deep descriptions of the medical/biological components of the story. It is evident that the author has a strong background in the sciences and this cannot go unnoticed by the reader. Nothing is left lacking and the story flows smoothly without feeling forced. I found myself having a difficult time putting the book down since once the excitement began, it would rarely even taper off. I also found myself drawn to the characters; following their lives and being drawn in by their stresses and theories. The suspense from the plot was one that resonates with the reader long after the book is put down for the evening.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a science fiction journey that is so well researched that it truly could be happening right now! This was one book that caused me to rethink what happens behind closed doors.

This was a great paranormal romance. As a first time reader of Layne Macadam, I can honestly say that she has easily hooked a devoted follower with Wolf At The Door.

This lovely shifter romance is the second installment to the Heritage Series. The writing was excellent and had the perfect blend of excitement, intrigue and sexy romance. The characters were incredibly likeable. Jonah was a great tortured alpha hero who was more believable than most. He had legitimate concerns about something from his past that actually affected the relationship. I hate it when a book boyfriend goes on about his big secret and then it ends up being something that doesn’t matter anyway. Jonah was being sincere with his issue and that made him more real to me. Camille was a hoot as our heroine. She was fearless and courageous and charming. I absolutely loved her together with Jonah. Just as impressive was the intriguing cast of secondary characters. I can’t wait to read about Camille’s brothers, especially Connor, and also to find out more about why their mom had to leave their father. There is a mystery there that I am eager to explore.

Wolf At The Door was an excellent read that left me looking forward to the next book in the Heritage Series. I recommend it to everyone.

The last couple to visit the island are Quinn and Pierce. Quinn has medical fetishes he’s embarrassed to tell his lover Pierce about even though Pierce is a doctor. So he’s going to get it out of his system in this safe environment. At least that’s the plan…

Don’t miss out on these fantasies come true.

Wow. I really loved this book! With four main plots threading delicately together this has plenty going on. It’s a testament to Mr. Michael’s writing skills though that no couple/group gets either overlooked or dwelled on too long. I found the pacing of both the story and the relationships between the couples/groups to be amazing.

Guard, Damien and James run a small island resort for a very select clientele – they allow their clients a safe and welcoming environment where their deepest sexual fantasies can come true. The three men have also been in a ménage relationship until James was hurt. I loved how even though they, themselves aren’t their own clients – their fantasy of getting back together and starting fresh was also clearly one of the longer-term plot arcs. Guard and James are the first characters we’re introduced to – setting up the various fantasies that are about to take place – and I was immediately drawn into their story, curious at the threesome breaking up but also eager for their reunion since it’s so obvious their love is still strong.

There is effectively three proper short stories going on in this book – as well as Guard, Damien and James as a peripheral storyline. Thor and Benji explore a fantasy of body modifications (piercings and tattoos) as well as aspects of the BDSM lifestyle, then Alan and Roman explore voyeurism – Alan submitting while Roman watches – and finally Quinn and Pierce explore Quinn’s medical fantasies together.

While I don’t personally feel there was any “forced seduction” in these fantasties, in a few places the story was being told from the Dom’s perspective. In two instances the Dom/sub pairings were brand new – only having known each other for their time on the island/resort – so the reluctance shown by the subs could potentially be construed as “forced seduction”. There was always safewords though, and never any play rough enough that I felt bordered on abuse – but there is a very fine line between being truly forcing someone and one partner being reluctant in a safe scene. Personally – I feel with the safewords and genuine care shown between all the partners this shouldn’t be on the wrong side of that line, but some of the scenes are quite heavy/emotional and without knowing for a fact the sub is loving every second (ie being told from their point of view) I felt this was worth mentioning. Readers should also know that there is a knife play scene (sensations from the knife – not playing with the blood or full-on harm occurring), and a few medical examination style scenes (sounds, enemas and the like).

All up while there is plenty of fantasy-come-to-life scenes that might push various buttons, I found everything was written in good taste and as sensually as any more regular kinky, erotic story. I particularly enjoyed the characters and loved the different dynamics between couples both brand new and more established. While there might be triggers or parts of scenes that some readers might not find too erotic, I feel this is an excellent book to showcase some of the rarer kinks in a tasteful and safe environment. And just as the icing on the cake – all the fantasy plotlines were resolved with very happy and satisfied endings. There’s also clear hooks for both the next story and for the continuing relationship between Damien, James and Guard. I really enjoyed this and would strongly recommend it if readers are curious about “non-standard” types of kink. A lovely read.

“So it’s true? It’s not a con? This job really pays a million dollars? For…sex?” she rasps.

“You think I’d admit it if it was a con? What did the ad say?”

Her delicate jaw flexes for a second.

“One million uninhibited reasons to take a leap.
One million chances to earn a keep
One million to give in to the carnal
Are you brave enough to surrender,
For a payday to remember?”

It speaks even more to her desperate state of mind that she remembers the ad verbatim.

I remain silent and wait for her to speak.

“So…assuming it’s not a con, how will this work, then?”

“If you pass the next few tests, and I decide you’re a good fit, you get the gig. You’ll receive one hundred thousand dollars with each performance.”

“So…ten performances…over how long a period?”

“Depending on how many takes are needed, anywhere between three weeks and a month. But I should warn you, it’s hard work, Lucky. If you think you’re just going to lie back and recite the Star Spangled Banner in your head, think again.”

Her fingers drum on the table, the first sign of nerves she’s exhibited. “I…I won’t be doing anything…skanky, will I?”

“Define skanky.”

“This is going to be straight up sex. No other…bodily stuff? Because that would a firm no for me.”

My mouth attempts another twitch. “No water works, waste matter or bestiality will be involved in the performances.”

Her fingers stop drumming. “Okay.” She waits a beat, stares straight into the camera. “So when will I know?”

I hear the barely disguised urgency and I rub my finger over my lip again. “Soon. I’ll be in touch within the week.” I’m not sure exactly why I want to toy with her. But I sense that having her on edge would add another layer of excitement I badly need.

When she opens her mouth, I interrupt. “Goodbye, Lucky.”

A passing thought about the origin of her name is crushed into oblivion. I press the remote to summon the bodyguard to escort her out, and I leave the room.

In my study a few minutes later, I bring up the screen on my desk and activate the encrypted service I need. I open the application and within minutes, the members of my exclusive gentlemen’s club are logging in.

Bidding starts in fifteen minutes.

I start the countdown and rise to pour myself a neat bourbon. I swallow the first mouthful with two prescribed tablets, which are meant to keep me from going over the edge, apparently, and stroll to the floor to ceiling window. I look down at Midtown’s bumper-to-bumper traffic. This mid-level penthouse is one of many I own in this building and around New York City.

Technically, I don’t live here. I only use it when volatile pressures demand that I put some distance between the Upper West Side family mansion and myself. I would never stray far for long. For one thing, I’ve accepted that my family would never leave me alone.

I know what I know. So they’ve made it their business to keep me on a short leash. But with over three hundred properties in my personal portfolio, and a few thousand more under the family firm’s control, there are many places to disappear to when the demons howl.

Today, the Midtown penthouse is my temporary haven.

I turn when the timer beeps a one-minute warning.

I return to my desk and adjust the voice distorter. When the clock reaches zero, I click the mouse. “Gentlemen, start your bids.”

My words barely trail off before the first five bids appear on the screen. Sixty seconds later, the total bid is at a quarter of a million dollars. I steeple my fingers and wish I were more excited. The money means nothing. It never has. It’s the end game that excites me.

My mind drifts back to Lucky. I turn the gem of her elusiveness this way and that and admit to myself she has potential.

I want to take a scalpel to all her secrets, bleed them and soil my hands with the viscera. I also want to fuck her until her body gives out. Right in this moment, I’m not sure what I want more.

So I concentrate on the numbers racing higher on the screen.

Half a million. One million. One point five.

My phone beeps twice. I pick it up and read the two appointment reminders on the screen.

7pm – Dr. Nathanson. My shrink.
9pm – Dinner with Maxwell.

I re-confirm the first and delete the second.

Cancelling dinner with Maxwell will bring a world of irritation to my doorstep. No one cancels dinner with Maxwell Blackwood. For a start he’s one of the most powerful men in the country.

He’s also my father.

Yeah, my name is Quinn Blackwood, heir to the Blackwood Estate, only child of Maxwell Blackwood and Adele Blackwood (deceased). My family owns a staggering amount of property across the eastern seaboard of the United States and a few in the west. According to the bean counters, I’m personally worth twenty-six billion dollars.

But tangling with my father in hell is what I live for. Have done since I was fifteen. So I ignore his summons and watch the stragglers fall away until I’m left with the top ten bidders. The bids wind down, and within the space of half an hour, I’m just under two million dollars richer.

I spot the familiar name of the top bidder and I sneer. Taking his money on top of everything else is darkly satisfying.

Once bidding ends, I close down the application and call up another list. Dozens of charity websites showing pictures of starving children flood my screen. Within minutes, fifty charities are the grateful recipients of two million dollars.

I may be Quinn Blackwood, occasional user of prescribed meds to keep the demons in check, who moonlights as Q, porn star to an exclusive few who pay millions for my work.

And I may be an unhinged asshole with serious daddy issues.

But no one said I wasn’t a giver.

Can they untangle the lies before someone separates them forever?

A Kiss and a Dream is part of a series of clean romances set during the Great War. If you like characters that walk off the page, unique settings, and romance mixed with adventure and intrigue, then let Linda Andrews take you to a time when only the brave possessed the courage to risk all for love.

Kian’s heart has been broken by a liar before.

When Kian stumbled on Gretchen and two young children nearly frozen to death, none of them could have imagined how much all their lives were about to change. Gretchen has narrowly escaped the nightmare of the workhouse, and Kian is struggling to survive in a small town that has turned its back on him. Neither of them have dared to think about love and happiness for a very long time. However, winter has always been good to Kian, and he can’t help but wonder if Gretchen is the blessing he’s been looking for. Unfortunately, Kian isn’t the most popular man in town, and some will stop at nothing to see him ruined.

I admire Gretchen very much. She is an extremely strong, hardworking woman who has survived against the odds many times, but she met her match on a frozen lake in Michigan. Gretchen is understandably cautious when she wakes up in a strange place, but Kian is the very definition of a hero and shows her kindness and respect from the moment she opens her eyes, and it was very easy to imagine them as a couple even in these early moments of their relationship. Gretchen and Kian find themselves in a mutually beneficial arrangement. Gretchen cleans, cooks and takes care of the children in exchange for a home and food. It was supposed to be a simple arrangement, but a kiss complicates everything. Gretchen quickly learns that Kian’s late wife was a devious woman, and some of her secrets still have the power to hurt Kian. Gretchen does her best to protect the man she loves, but as I read I couldn’t help but wonder if she was making the situation worse by hiding the truth from him. Would Kian be able to forgive her lies or will she lose the first man she’s ever loved?

In addition to creating likable characters, Ms. Andrews did an excellent job developing the setting of her story. I enjoyed following Gretchen through her daily routines, and I could almost smell the gingerbread she baked as a treat for Kian and the children. Ms. Andrews’ attention to detail let me fully immerse myself in the story, and I thoroughly enjoyed spending some time in Hope’s Point.

I must say that the ending wasn’t quite what I expected. There were quite a few loose ends that needed to be tied up in a short amount of time. I wasn’t sure how it all could be accomplished. There was one problem that had the potential to be truly heartbreaking, however Kian’s quick thinking saved the day in a very creative and satisfying way.

I’m very glad I had the opportunity to read A Kiss and a Dream. While this is the sixth book in a series, it stands alone very well. Looking for a warm, sweet romance sure to leave you with a smile on your face? Pick up a copy of A Kiss and a Dream today.

Find out how it all began for Peter and Christian.

Before Toby met Damon, Peter and Christian found each other on the internet.

Still in the army, Christian was inexperienced in not only BDSM, but sex altogether. Still, he has yearnings and furtively explores them in online chatrooms.

Testosterone Deficiency (TD) is a condition in which a man cannot online viagra sales achieve or maintain enough erection for intercourse with his partner. Luckily for Christian, seasoned Dom Peter recognizes Christian’s lack of experience and a kindred spirit in the man, and they take their conversations to text messages and Skype calls.

After Christian’s last deployment and only a few months before his discharge, he takes leave and visits Peter so the two men can see if they are as compatible in person as they seem to be online.

This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Peter and Christian have been emailing and Skyping for a while now – having a careful, subtle, code-word-riddled relationship. When Christian gets some leave from the Army, he and Peter finally meet up. Will their relationship continue to be as good in person as it is over the internet?

While the Beer and Clay series have mainly focused on the story between Toby and Damon, Peter and Christian have become more and more important throughout the series. I was thrilled, therefore, when I found that this book would be the story of how Peter and Christian met. I love both the characters of Peter and Christian and seeing how they came to be together was a pleasure.

As usual for a Sean Michael book, the sex is blisteringly hot. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and found this book particularly lovely as Christian is not only untried in the BDSM lifestyle, but also a virgin in the more physical sense. I loved how special Peter made their first time and how well he handled Christian and his struggle against himself and his own desires. I thought it was delightfully clear that Peter cared about Christian from the start and had true patience to help lead Christian where they both wanted to go – instead of just ordering him around and dictating. The fact Peter was the Master in the relationship would have made it far too easy for him to simply order and Christian obey. I found the story far richer and deeper for the fact Peter had patience and supported Christian as he worked through his own feelings and demons.

This book was solely focused on Peter and Christian – not any of the other aspects of the Beer and Clay world. While I didn’t mind this, some readers and fans of the series might find it disappointing that there’s no reference or cameos from the other main characters. Of course this also means readers who haven’t read the other Beer and Clay books can certainly pick this up and not be at all lost – this is absolutely a “stand alone” book and indeed could be read as an excellent introduction or “prequel” into the Beer and Clay series.

Steamy hot sex with a lovely bit of kink to it, two wonderful men and strong characters and a whole lot of love make this a wonderful story and one I will happily reread many times to come. Recommended.
