A last wish brings them together. Only love can keep them there.

Children’s hospital administrator Ryland Davids was attracted to event planner Jennalyn James the moment he saw her. He thought there would be plenty of time to get to know her—until her younger sister, Sabrina, was admitted with complications from traumatic brain injury.

Sabrina’s bright courage broke through Ryland’s wall of professional distance, but once she drew her last breath, Jennalyn left the hospital and never returned. Though he understands her need for distance, there’s a hole in his heart that won’t heal. And a last wish from Sabrina he’s honor-bound to deliver.

When Jennalyn comes face to face with Ryland at a charity event, the pain comes rushing back, threatening to shatter her everything’s-fine façade. It doesn’t help that the lump in her throat is mostly her heart, leaping in response to his touch.

Despite her reluctance to return to the scene of her grief, she fulfills Sabrina’s final request to plan a series of Christmas events for the kids. Over the course of A Month of Miracles, Ryland and Jennalyn discover there’s the light of hope at the end of grief’s dark tunnel. But it may not be enough to heal her broken heart.

When an event planner is invited to host a series of events at the hospital where her sister breathed her last, Jennalyn is overcome by the tidal wave of grief that is her constant companion. Ryland is the hospital administrator who is suffering from his own scars. Will the two learn that there is more to the spirit of Christmas than the ghosts of Christmas past?

This book could not have fallen into my hands at a more opportune time. This year, the holidays were a blur that was often filled with tired and humbug ridden thoughts of the most surly in nature. Reading Her Miracle Man put a burr under my saddle to think about people with a lot more on their plate than I have and the happiness they found in helping others was truly a joy to behold.

Ryland is a hospital administrator looking to set up a month of miracles for the kids in his hospital that are the most vulnerable. Jennalyn is an event coordinator and the sister of one of Ryland’s patients that didn’t make it. Both are scarred by Sabrina’s passing and have vulnerabilities that run deep. The two dance around their mutual attraction and begin to work together to give the kids in the hospital a series of miracles that will bring tears to your eyes and a flutter of hope in a time of year when it is easy to forget that there are others out there that have challenges that are literally life or death.

The story was well laid out and took me on a journey of grief, life, hope and redemption. Honestly, it was more about the story than the sex in this one. While there were some BDSM elements when Ryland and Jennalyn get together, it was more about the holiday story and the selfless giving to the kids that really kept me reading. There is a twist at the end that I wasn’t expecting that had to do with who the families were that received the month of miracles. The videos with Sabrina telling her sister to give Ryland a hand and to get involved with him were heartwarming and made me cry more than once.

If you enjoy a holiday story that will bring a tear or two to your eyes with a little bit of spicy BDSM to liven things up, then you have to try Her Miracle Man.

During her junior year, sixteen-year-old Maggie Reynolds expected to shop for prom dresses not maternity clothes. Now, instead of studying for the SATs, she’s reading, What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Maggie’s ‘Mother Dearest’ lives in fear that Maggie will somehow taint the family name, so Maggie can’t turn to her for help. Meanwhile, her father is oblivious to anything but his 9-9 job. And her boyfriend, Justin? She’s pretty sure he’ll stay by her side.

While Maggie wrestles with her options, Justin offers a solution: abortion. It would solve all her problems quickly, easily, and effectively. And her parents would never know, which means they won’t throw her out and cut her off like they’d always threatened if she got herself knocked up. But an easy decision becomes difficult when Maggie’s aunt discovers her secret and sets out on a mission to stop the abortion, putting a kink in Maggie’s plan. Now Maggie must decide which choice she can live with: abortion or teenage motherhood. Either way, it’ll be a tough road to travel.

Growing up is never easy but for some, it is much harder than it is for others. Unfortunately for Maggie Reynolds, she has to learn that the hard way. After spending what she thought was the perfect summer with the perfect boyfriend, Maggie learns very quickly that what you think you want isn’t always what you really need. And, sometimes, maybe it isn’t even what you ever really wanted at all.

They were asked to fill out the list of questionnaire that had items related to sexual viagra online in uk functioning. Anyone that has ever had that one heart-stopping, panic ridden moment where you think your life is ruined, that you are trapped and there is no way out of the current dilemma, will be able to relate to this book. Maggie’s anxiety about her situation is so well portrayed throughout that it was almost palpable. Getting pregnant as a teenager can be traumatic for anyone. Add to that the fact that Maggie’s family has steadily grown apart over the past few years, and the fact that she feels like nothing she ever does is good enough for her mother, and she feels more alone than ever.

In typical teen fashion, Maggie’s initial reaction to this news (aside from the panic) is to ignore it and hope it’ll just go away. When that doesn’t work, the obvious next step is to make it go away. Ms. Anderson does such an incredible job of describing Maggie’s experience at the abortion clinic that it brought tears to my eyes. The author does an admirable job of writing about such a touchy subject. It feels real and it feels honest. Something I think that any teen reading this will appreciate.

The reaction of Maggie’s family, when they are finally told, is anything but predictable, and once they have a chance to process the news, it’s very touching. Instead of tearing the family apart, it opens their eyes and brings them back together. The topic of the book, and the way it is written, has the potential to make a reader realize what is truly important in life…and what isn’t.

With such a buildup throughout the entire book, I felt like the ending was somewhat anti-climactic. While predictable in terms of giving you what you expect, it also ends rather abruptly. This could be to leave it open to a sequel, or simply to encourage the reader to think about it themselves, but I was left rather unsatisfied.

The lessons to be learned in this book are both in your face and subtle enough that by the end, it can leave you contemplating many different things. From the obvious issues of abortion versus adoption versus teenage motherhood to learning what sort of people to keep in your life. From learning that family is always there no matter what to learning to accept what you truly deserve instead of what you think you deserve, the lessons imparted in this tale are worthy of any teenage or adult reader.

This is a wonderfully written book that taps into the angst of the teenage years combined with the heart-wrenching emotions that can come with an unexpected and unwanted pregnancy. The family is realistically dysfunctional and the characters are sympathetic and well written. A great coming of age tale that I would definitely recommend to any teenage girl.

Pushed by her dying father into a marriage with one of his friends, Charlotte Rutherford Wylde finds herself bound to an old man who disdains and ignores her. Miserable, furious, she determines to take drastic action, but before she can confront him, her husband is murdered in the dark London streets. From the moment Charlotte hears this upsetting news, she is subject to shock after shock. Her dead husband has spent the fortune she brought him, leaving her nearly penniless. His will reflects his obsession with the artifacts of ancient Rome, turning her home into a museum. And most astonishing of all, he had an entire family that he never mentioned.

The fashionable Wyldes are as surprised to hear of Charlotte’s existence as she is of theirs. To the charismatic Alec she is, at first, just another obligation in his overburdened life. He has to grapple with his dead relative’s shady business dealings, an attempted robbery, and a suspicious Bow Street Runner. But it’s not long before Alec realizes that there is nothing he would rather do than cherish the entrancing Widow Wylde.

Being married to the Grinch who acts like a frustrated and covetous museum curator is a recipe for a disastrous life and that is where a reader meets the beaten down yet courageous heroine, Charlotte.
She also told me of a few other sex toys she has acquired over the years to purchase cheap cialis purchasing here add some spice to her life. Right away the author paints a picture of a woman you can feel sorry for. She’s belittled and scorned at every turn and when it seems all hope is lost, her circumstances turn on a dime. What follows is a journey on which she learns to have hopes again, and it was fascinating to watch her relearn how to have fun. It plucked at my emotions to see her realize how much she’d been denied and that she no longer had to cower and keep her thoughts and observations to herself. A reader sees Charlotte come into her own and it was terrific to read.

One of the highlights for the heroine is the hero, Alec. He’s a frustrated hero on many levels not the least of which is his being robbed of actually being a hero. Not that he would admit to wanting to be, but the signs where that that Alec had feelings for Charlotte. Watching him deny his attraction, or run and hide behind his duties, or run a mental horror story of a list of why he shouldn’t pursue her was at times both amusing and frustrating to read. Once again the technique is used of having the male lead in a story be plagued by events he witnessed as a child affecting and directing his adult life – until certain revelations turn his beliefs and his understanding of the world on its ear. Fortunately, the ploy wasn’t overdone or heavy handed and served as a convincing plot conflict because the author used the technique well.

On the other hand a technique that almost made me motion sick was the head hopping. Sometimes it works, depending on placement and the amount it’s used in a book. In this case I found it very jarring and disruptive to have so many switches in point of view. I believe there were four. I can perhaps see why the author did it because she had not one but two romances going. The second love story being that of Charlotte’s maid, Lucy and Alec’s servant, Ethan. It was sweet, and certainly the couples’ lives intertwined in such a way to keep a reader fascinated. But no matter how well the scenes were written, the delivery was choppy and broken and it left me feeling like I had to work harder to read the book.

The main conflict is the solving of a crime and who it eventually turned out to be. The author wove the mystery of who could have done it very well and it wasn’t until almost the end that I figured out who it was. Ms. Ashford was clever with her clues. It was a bit of a surprise to find out who it was because no one seemed capable of such a scandalous thing. The author even threw in a few red herrings, so I was appropriately and convincingly diverted.

Once Again a Bride is a clever and entertaining historical romance sure to please many a reader. When Charlotte and Alec get to experience the ultimate in loving, it’s spicy and pleasing. The story also left me wondering how in the world Alec’s cousin was going to fare beyond this tale. I loved Callie, the naughty kitty and enjoyed getting to know Alec’s sisters. There is a lot to be entertained by in this book and it’s worth reading a romance about a time in England’s history that I don’t often see dealt with. I’m glad I read it.

Matthew & Emily’s ‘Supporting’ CastSometimes, an inspirational ‘bent’ on a book can bother readers. Some feel that if ‘Heaven’ is mentioned, then the book is all about being too preachy or looking at things from only one perspective. I hope that after Until Next Time and especially after Gilded Wings, readers will see that this team is all about two young souls who just, basically, are doing a job they want to do well.

They have a family, just like most characters do – whether those characters are a part of a supernatural/fantasy world or a suspense, drama, romantic world, Matthew and Emily’s family just have some added recognition.

Michael and Gabriel are their mentors and teachers. St. Francis is the fun friend who takes care of his animals and is always there when they need to talk to someone. Saint Mark is the visionary – he is the one who understands the power and tragedy of love, and knows how much Matthew and Emily need each other in order to survive.

When I put together Matthew, Mark, Luke and John – you don’t see the souls in robes – you see four very close friends who have passion for life. They have passion for their jobs as well as the two teens they have taught and raised. They play cards, they race horses, and make sure that with every win comes a vat of candy bars. Because, let’s face it, what better thing did the humans of the world invent than that fabulous concoction?

Perhaps my take offends some, but this is Emily and Matthew’s world; this is their daily life with their friends and family. Not everything in their lives up above nor down below will be filled with bright, white lights and choirs singing. From their perspective they train, they go to class and learn, they head to the library and read the stories of others who have gone before them; they worry, fret, love and live, while all the time having the kindest family to rely on when things get rough.

When the Son arrives, He presents Himself in a way that shows (what this author believes) to be his real personality. He is a communicator. He loves to smile and help the angel/warrior team who are doing their best to save souls down below and make the world a better place. When He was sitting beside Emily in Until Next Time, dressed in a suit with a top hat, it was because He was having fun; He took the dark look out of her eyes and brought her back to the world of happiness and love which is what Emily needed to continue.

In Gilded Wings, He will also appear – just once – when Emily needs her ’best friend’ to speak to. And Michael and Gabriel – the first team/duo who made sure to help, save, protect and punish, depending on the situations they were in – will also come to the teens when need be. Why? Because they feel as if they are fathers. They want Matthew and Emily to be safe in a world that doesn’t offer much safety.

What I hope readers truly understand is that The Angel Chronicles is not about the Bible, or Christianity, or preaching of any kind. It is simply about a duo who has a family that loves, protects and stands by their side when, at times, faith can waver.

Until Next Time, Everybody,

Until Next Time: The Angel Chronicles, Book 1

How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the ‘life’ they’ve been assigned. What they don’t realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz’s establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel’s path and a warrior’s plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that’s ripping them apart.

The Beloved Angel-Warrior Team from Until Next Time Returns!

When Matt and Emily are sent on their second mission they have no idea how truly dark human nature can become…

Emily never wanted to face humans again. With the heartache that went on down below, she’s still trying to figure out how to save souls that don’t deserve saving. The only one she wants to see again is Jason – the young man she fell in love with who became the soulmate she simply can’t forget…

Matt was trained to protect and defend the souls down below. Longing to feel the heartfelt emotions that come from being human, Matt wants nothing more than to have just one life – one chance – to live and love the girl of his dreams…

The powerful team find themselves in a brand new century, living in the Gilded Age of New York City. Emily takes over the body of Anya, a young Russian girl who arrives on Ellis Island after a hideous tragedy. There she meets up with a strangely familiar young man by the name of Drew Parrish, who helps Anya survive in an unknown world of luxury, snobbery and…obsession.

What Anya’s inner angel doesn’t know is that the soul she loves is also back. This time around Jason goes by the name of Max Carrow. Once a quiet and kind boy, he’s now part of the ‘Four Hundred Club,’ and wants nothing more than to be among the most admired as he climbs the shaky ladder of society’s elite.

As two worlds merge, Emily and Matt struggle under the weight of their “Gilded Wings.” Not only will they have to figure out who they should fight to save, but they must also face a romantic choice that could destroy them both.

“Read along” excerpt: Drew took her hand. “It’s okay. Hope is sometimes a lot to bear. Anyway, look over to the right. There’s something I promised to show you today.”

Anya turned to where he was pointing and sucked in her breath as she walked closer to the amazing window. Inside—on black velvet palettes—was a sea of crystals and gemstones beaming in the morning sun. Included among the shiny jewels were beautiful glass lampshades of every color, shape and size. The ornaments were mesmerizing, like a thousand cathedral windows were beaming their heavenly light into the street. “What is under those colored shades that make them glow like that?”

“Those are light bulbs.” Drew smiled. “We’ve been working on electricity forever, but few homes have been able to have it. Factories have it, but now home lighting is becoming all the rage. Thomas Edison invented them.”

“Another brilliant man.”

“Yup. He’s invented loads of things. Tiffany took the idea and turned it into the most beautiful fixtures that have ever been created. It’s really fine craftsmanship.” Drew looked proud of his own knowledge. “America has created some wonderful things.” His voice suddenly changed, “Some bad things, too.”

Anya shivered at his haunted words; every once in a while a sadness came from his eyes that she didn’t understand.

“I’m afraid you’ll see those as well,” he whispered.

His life goes into default mode. LifeMaster plays the game. Joyce lives the life.

Joyce expects life will get worse. Instead it gets better. Way better.

He’s making more money than he can spend. He’s hanging out with his favorite sports hero. He has a gorgeous girlfriend. He partners up with Herculisa, a crime-fighting superheroine. He becomes Jayhawk, a superhero himself.

Then LifeMaster changes from a game of life to a game of life and death!

Have you ever wished you were a superhero? Until the accident Joyce is fairly content with his steady (if boring) job at an insurance company. His biggest wish is to afford an upgrade to a nicer hotel on his next vacation. Little does he know how much his life is about to change.

The best way to describe Typical Day is to say it’s a graphic novel without pictures. From the first time Joyce attempts to navigate life without the guidance of LifeMaster his adventures, sidekicks and nemesis are larger than life. One day his life is perfectly ordinary and the next he’s pole vaulting over an electric fence with a pink, seven foot tall woman named Herculisa. What endeared me to Joyce was his reaction to the unbelievable things happening around him. As surprised as he is by certain events he slowly grows accustomed to his new life and it becomes his new normal. I’ll admit that I was not a fan of some of the negative character traits that emerge when Joyce faces additional challenges but I completely understand why they would occur. In his shoes I would almost certainly have had the same reaction.

Arthur C. Clarke once said, “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” The concept for this story isn’t something I’ve read about before. I would have preferred to learn more about how LifeMaster works. Is it powered by a magical spell or a computer-generated algorithm? Based on how Joyce reacts to the world around him I would assume it was the latter but this is never explained.

Typical Day’s vision of the future is as fresh as it is fascinating. This is a good choice for anyone who has ever wished they could know what surprises a new day holds or go on autopilot during a particularly dull meeting.

But when Ty walks into her bar, both lives are instantly changed.

Ty is a lawyer and is only filling in on the dart team play-offs because one of the members is sick. Once he steps in the pub, he realizes that his other job is going to be required here. He knows there is a rogue witch in the premises.

Ms. Cahoon has created a world where the Magic Council regulates witches and has members of their council as hunters to bring in any unregistered witches. Her two main characters are Ty, a member of the council and Parris, a woman who knows she’s different, but doesn’t know she is a witch. She also adds in one more twist to the story that doesn’t become known until later.

Ty is hoping Parris’s witch strength is not strong enough to require registration. Parris just knows he’s a hunk and she wants to see more of him. He’s attracted to her, too, and he can’t be. And that’s just the beginning of their troubles.

This has the potential to be a very good series. There is suspense, the threat of death, traitors and spies, and regular life to deal with. It’s an intriguing story line and the author’s word flow smoothly. I enjoyed this read but felt the author should have written a bit more before ending this part of the story. It read more like an introduction than a complete novella. That’s partly influenced by the ending. The author gives you enough information to go on with the story and she ends it with a cliff-hanger. That’s an acceptable technique, but I would have preferred to see her take it just a bit farther and show the “viper” nestled in Ty’s office as they return to regular life.

I can guarantee you that you will want to read the next in this series. The author surprised me when she pointed out the traitor. I had no clue. Think you’ll know? Get a copy and see!

Can she risk giving her heart back to a man whose loss nearly destroyed her whole world?

Long ago, a powerful witch named Casterix nearly destroyed the world of Arroway out of grief for the murder of her mate, Callum. She spent those years since exiled on Earth, believing she could never return home.

Unbeknownst to her, the power of their connection tied Callum to their world despite his demise. While she hid away, his spirit remained lost in dimension between life and death, until he finally found a way to return to her.

Now, after a thousand years, the two are reunited. But their reunion is less than joyous.

Arroway is dying. The witches are close to extinction. It will take the combined power of Casterix and Callum to save their world. But can she risk caring for him as she used to, when their separation tore her apart?

When Casterix finds her lover, Callum, murdered by an evil man who wanted her power for himself, Casterix uses her witch’s magic to do the unthinkable. A thousand years later Callum is back and both he and Cass have changed. Her power – which had almost destroyed their homeland – had helped him bring himself back. But Cass has decided she no longer wants to trust herself to the power of their love, or risk her heart from breaking a second time.

While I understand Cass’ feelings – the first time she lost Callum, in her grief she came close to destroying everyone and everything in their world – at the same time I couldn’t help but feel her initial reaction to her long-lost mate quite harsh. Callum doesn’t give up and slowly eases her back to being comfortable in his presence, and soon takes a (metaphorical) mallet to her walls. The blending of their magical world Arroway and Earth, the teleporting stones as well as the strong cast of secondary characters (her brother Jarrod, her neice, Shayla etc) were well drawn and I believe also will have stories of their own. The issues, worries and emotions Cass and Callum face are realistic and well-written. The added wonder of their magic, the lessons they learn and power they display adds another dimension to the story and is something I really enjoyed.

This is a well-written magical story all about loving, and loss, and learning not only how to deal with that but trust again when it’s returned to you against all odds. Spicy enough to give you a blush but not so erotic you can’t enjoy reading it on the bus, this is a great book.

He’ll do anything to make sure that his younger brother’s marriage, sealing an important alliance, takes place. After his plan to bribe Gemma fails, Aston takes his brother’s place when the witchy seductress sneaks into Drew’s bedroom for some planned sex-capades. Gemma mistakes Aston for Drew and the heat is on. Now, maybe the dude should have fought her off when she jumped his bones….but since when does a man pass up some free smexy? Aston does feel guilty after their mind blowing sex ….but still sets up a rendezvous for the next night where he once again impersonates his little brother.

Now, I might have seen his actions as a betrayal if Gemma hadn’t deserved exactly what she got. After all, she did plan to have sex with a man that was already taken. This was the point where I thought: “She must know which brother she’s having all that hot sex with”. The two guys looked nothing alike, with Aston having a goatee while his brother was baby faced, for gods sakes. The real trick was for Aston to convince Gemma that she knew all along.

This was a short book but the quality of writing was excellent and the story flowed nicely. The characters were vibrant and the chemistry between Aston and Gemma was high voltage. This book was well worth the reading and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Being shot in his dire wolf form by his would-be mate while hunting caribou wasn’t exactly how Wachei expected to happen upon their first meeting. Heated kisses and passionate embraces, yes, but not flying bullets.

Eryn wasn’t pleased to see a strange man standing next to the caribou she’d just brought down. The kill was hers, and if he thought he could take it from her, he could think again. But once she comes near, and sees how gorgeous he is, suddenly getting as close as possible to the sexy stranger is job one.

Wachei knows he must bring Eryn into his world a lot sooner than he’d planned, especially when another threat is discovered—the very evil he and his wolf brothers were created to destroy is closer to home than they’d thought.

Ice Hunters Mate is the second book in the Werewolf Sentinels series. It has a unique storyline that can’t be beat : Ice Age werewolves , frozen for ten thousand years. This is a really entertaining story with some light humor. The story flows at a super fast pace. It’s a little on the short side but what the heck. I’ll take a good werewolf story any way I can get it.

Wachei and his five wolf brothers were the first werewolves – created by their big kahuna to protect against a coming evil. Finally awakened after a ten thousand year nap , the warriors struggle to acclimate in the modern world gets downright humorous at times. As predicted, they begin to find their mates. While hunting in his dire wolf form , Wachei is accidentally shot by his mate. At first Eryn is suspicious of the sexy stranger she meets as she is out hunting. But an attraction like they share just can’t be denied. Wachei can tell by Eryn’s irresistible scent that she is his mate. He is aware that the truth about him and his wolf brothers could be so shocking to his mate that he could loose her forever. He decides to take their courtship easy before claiming her as his mate. But Eryn’s acceptance of their mating bond isn’t the only thing Wachei has to worry about. An old enemy poses an inescapable danger to, not only the wolf brothers , but to their loved ones as well.

I really liked this short story. The characters were vibrant and unique. I adored Wachei as the sweet alpha hero. I admired his willingness to allow Eryn to make her own choices about their relationship. In a nutshell : Wachei was the ultimate alpha hero and I fell a little in love with him. Ice Hunters Mate was a quick and enjoyable read. I will continue to follow this series as the other warriors find their own mates.

Small towns, rural areas, buy uk viagra and exurban enclaves all received electoral attention. Emotions can be a cause for dysfunctions in the body that lead generic viagra discount to pain. They have the fear that someone known might come generic soft viagra to know of their problems and would laugh at them. Life has made a renegade out of this hero and being a cop is a hard line to walk when rules, regs and a Captain who has it in for him all scheme to trip him up. Diego is tough, resourceful and is gritting his teeth at being roped in to toe the line. In a hick town no less. The hunky hero is about to find out that small towns can hide big things, like the key to his heart and a lust so huge it’ll make him goofy.

I get the biggest kick out of a story that takes a strong, take charge and goal oriented man and pairs him with a woman who doesn’t fit any mold of any female he’s ever come across. Watching a sexy guy turn into Pavlov’s dog whenever Jade turns her ‘green-eyed pixie’ gaze on him was very entertaining. Realizing that Diego had a horrid childhood and is emotionally starved ended up being a strong lure to keep on reading through to the end. He’s a person who has to control everything, is driven to succeed and will do anything to solve a case. As the hero falls in love for the first time in his life, he finds that solving the case isn’t as engrossing or the top priority as it once was. But is it a good thing or a bad thing? It takes a while for him to figure that out.

Jade is adorable. In the beginning she seems all Suzy Sunshine. As with the sun, the clouds have to come by eventually and dampen the mood. That’s a good way to describe getting to know the heroine. She’s genuine and sweet but she has a few regrets, some unmet dreams and feels smothered by responsibility. What I liked was the volatile chemistry between Jade and Diego. It is the catalyst that brings Jade to life and it inspires her willingness to let go, to explore and spread her wings. It was great to watch.

The cat, Persephone, is the key. Imagining the antics that Jade’s cat gets into around Christmastime and what it does to hapless decorations is one of the cutest and giggle-worthy elements in the whole book. It was a terrific touch and I thought the interactions between the kitty and Diego were wonderful. If there needed to be a little conflict and mayhem, Persephone was more than up to the task. What the cat did do was showcase the best points about both Diego and Jade in their reactions to caring for, chasing or rescuing said kitty.

There were wonderful human secondary characters too, like Mayor Applebaum. He sort of turned into the kind of father figure Diego probably wished he’d had but thought they really didn’t exist. Then again there was that nasty woman at the library that’s more in line with the city rat race that he was used to. Ms. Weber did an effective job in creating a character that I didn’t like. How? That woman didn’t like Persephone and one sentence she uttered was downright cruel. Boo Hiss.

Nice & Naughty has some quality hot-cha-cha going on between the sheets and anywhere else Diego can convince Jade to have a little fun. Because a lot of their coming together was spontaneous and combustible, I never knew when it was going to happen, but due to the strong writing skills that Ms. Weber employs, every scene was steamy, effective and fun.

Although the tug of war between his job/her job, his dreams/her dreams is a typical ploy, and the ‘how’ of the opportunity to fix it all was a bit anti-climactic and predictable, those techniques didn’t detract from this being an enjoyable read and worth spending time with. There were too many smiles and giggles and sweet and funny characters worth reading about to make me not mind.

Most of the story is internal conflict and personality issues between Diego and Jade. However, that’s not all that lurks in the shadows. The author added in a surprise villainy that I never suspected. I enjoy a bit of suspense and drama because it heightens the emotions of both the main characters, and if done right, the reader too. Ms. Weber succeeded and it made the story that much better.

Nice & Naughty is a fun, enthusiastic romance between two characters that brought out the best in each other. It’s not dark and dismal but bright, quirky and adorable except when the author wanted to shock a reader with the extent of the antagonist’s treachery and criminal actions. Ms. Weber dropped clues here and there and only after the big reveal did I remember what I read and put the pieces together. Part of the answer was there all along but the biggest surprise came at the end. That was an amazing round up.

I recommend Nice & Naughty to any reader who is looking for a story that can make them feel happy, a bit flustered in a good way, and who likes a book peppered with good humor and witty dialogue. This novel delivers it all.
