Tim Kerschner’s attachment to a solitary aspen on property he inherits goes much deeper than aesthetics. Can he make landscape architect Ryann Dean understand his refusal to let her chop down this single tree in a forest of them?

Ryann loves her job in Bliss, Oregon. Junior high teacher Tim Kerschner, on the other hand, she’d be happy to have never met. The man’s handsome face loses any appeal in light of his arrogance and obvious inclination to violence—the latter of which Ryann despises for reasons close to her heart.

Author Delia Latham’s book, Treehouse, answers that question in a few short pages that are filled with enough emotion that its readers will swing from one end of the pendulum to the other.

In just 38 pages, the author manages to give the characters of her book both dimension and a perspective that I found unique and refreshing.

The benefits of forgiving and accepting are well illustrated within this story without being preachy. It’s well written and the pacing comfortably fits the story. With so few pages, it’s the perfect book for that afternoon break when you only have a few minutes, but want something good to read.

Myla works for a company that Damon’s people don’t like. Myla is innocent as they come, but she’s taken captive anyway. I love her character. She’s strong, fierce, independent and is a true believer. Many women may not have survived the ordeal that Myla goes through, but she comes out tougher than ever. And no matter what, she sticks to her guns.

Damon doesn’t want to, but he feels something for Myla. She’s beyond a threat to his kind, if only he could prove to others just what he feels. Damon is a great hero, a perfect match for Myla, but the odds they must overcome to be together are very high. The world is stacked against them.

Hetty’s desperate gamble to avoid an odious match lands her all at sea. Can an overbearing ship’s physician really be the hero she needs to escape her treacherous family?

Marriage to a cruel dandy is not how Hetty Avebury envisions spending the rest of her life. Determined to raise funds to escape the match she earns money the only way she knows how—gambling. Her plans go astray and she finds herself onboard a man-of-war under the care of its stern physician. But Hetty soon realizes that the disapproving Doctor Withington is not at all the man she had first imagined.

If it wasn’t bad enough declaring one of the pressed men as a woman, Robert has been tasked with the tiresome job of returning her safely back to her dysfunctional family. It was ten years ago when his father gambled away his inheritance, home, and any chance of marrying the woman he loved. So when Robert discovers Hetty gambling he takes drastic action to cure her of the habit.

Here are things men ignored or did not know that there was cheap levitra appalachianmagazine.com more to see. This aphrodisiac is found to be viagra india price equally effective. It’s time to feel the power, the power of buy professional viagra the Amazon. She needed money to escape but all she had as a money making skill was gambling. She dressed up as man and was doing well at earning her passage to another land. If only the branch she was hiding on hadn’t broken and almost dropped her on the passing doctor…

Only a Hero Will Do is set in the Victorian period. The author immediately grabs your attention when the young lady in the story is wearing trousers under her skirts and she tries to talk her way out of trouble with the man she just met. He, unfortunately, didn’t believe her story about early morning riding. After all, she didn’t even have a horse, nor had there been any around lately. He takes her home, makes sure she’s okay, and runs into the man she’s supposed to marry on the way out. He doesn’t like him.

Ms. Lodge’s descriptions show how desperate Hetty is to escape this arranged marriage. As were many marriages in that era, it was more of a money transaction than a good match up for love. You can tell the author is familiar with this time period because her description of the era is authentic.

When Hetty manages to escape again, it doesn’t end any better. Imagine Hetty’s astonishment when she gets “pressed” into service on board a ship (she’s dressed as a boy again) and then finds the doctor on the same ship! As is usual in stories set in this period, the road to romance between the doctor and Hetty is fraught with potholes. Ms. Lodge shows you their frustration, anger, and how easy it to misunderstand situations. She also introduces a bit of a mystery when Hetty finds out her father is not actually her father. He married her mother and took her into his household at the same time. So who is her father?

I’m very glad I don’t live in the world of the ton. I could easily relate to Hetty dressing a boy/man and doing unexpected things for a woman. I’m like that, too. Even if you’re not, you will have fun watching Hetty go on her journey towards womanhood, taking a wrong turn here and there. Why not meet the doctor and see what you think?

Weeks later, exhausted and running out of time, Case must decide if he’s ready to become a father to these children, or give them up and move on with what’s left of his life. Then he meets Gabbie Vaulst.

She can tell Case is attracted to her, but does he really love her or is he just settling for a surrogate Mom who can wrangle his new kids? Knowing that she’s falling in love with him, she chooses to push him away until his world straightens out. Can Case prove to Gabbie, and himself, that his feelings are real? Gabbie certainly found Case irresistible as she watched him muddle his way through trying to wrangle two rambunctious twins. So she did what she knew how to do best –mother the wayward Thomas family.

If Case’s sexy dreads and athletic physic is not enough to get a girl hot, then surely his ability to step up and be the man and father his siblings needs will. Not only does he have a big enough heart to step into the shoes of his father, but he also has enough space left to teach Gabbie how a real man woos and cares for a woman. Case made me look at the men around me and question whether they would be willing or able to do what Case did. At some point I stopped seeing him as a character in a story and started to view him as a flesh and blood man. Now if only I could find out where he lives. Gabbie might have some competition!

Gabbie has been through so much pain, yet she still finds a way to put that aside and be there for everyone. Even through her insecurities it is clear she is able to bring the best out of people. Whether it be her friends, Case, or the kids, even if she can’t recognize it: the best within herself. While I normally find myself drawn towards the male characters in a story I can honestly say that Gabbie also stole my heart. She was a simple, admirable character in a story and was able to give me someone to aspire to be like. I would say that is a truly remarkable feat for this author to have achieved, and was enough to make me want to read even more by Author Michel Prince.

It was clear that the author really had a heart for this story. Maybe it was because the story pulled me in as if I was watching it unfold right in front of me instead of in a book. I can honestly say that I found both Gabbie and Case truly inspirational in their ability to overcome their personal difference and decide to care for each other as well as two young children. This is a story I can see myself reading over and over again when I find myself needed to be inspired.

Serena McKay believes that paranormal activity isn’t magical or mystical, but that it all can be explained with logical, scientific rationale. Carter Shehan drove Serena insane. She was convinced he was a hack, leading people on and deluding them with stories of the paranormal, giving them false hope when sanity and logic was behind all his outlandish claims. Still, fire burned between them both. Carter was more than intrigued, he found himself captivated by her passion. Coming to one of Serena’s lectures and signings, he listened to her, riveted, then happily gets her to sign his book. They clash swords admirably. It’s only after this initial meeting, when they decide to stay at the same Manor house – Serena to disprove the ghost stories and Carter to prove the tales – that the sparks really begin to fly. Passion ignites between the two.

This story was a lot of fun, with plenty of spice, passion and more than a few lost tempers in the fray. It’s not your regular sweet story of two gentle people. Yet the author writes the book with such style and light heartedness none of the passionate arguments could be taken to heart.  It’s clear the sparks are repressed sexual tension and a whole lot of chemistry blazing between Serena and Carter. With a feel-good atmosphere and the backdrop of a spooky, haunted house – complete with spirits/ghosts – there’s plenty of things going bump in the night.

I really enjoyed this book.  It’s a fresh read that had me smiling and laughing aloud in places. I really enjoyed how Serena and Carter didn’t just meet, their gazes catching and fall instantly in love – this was something they both worked at, fought against and eventually capitulated to with relish. It was a lovely change and very well executed.

I liked the way the author conceptualized the story combining the present and past of the hero and heroine’s relationship. Nevertheless, I preferred a little bit more exploration of the past part of the story, because it had my favorite elements in romance novels — opposites attracts, and in this case it was a jock and a nerd falling in love.

The part of the story that takes place in the present started strong and hot and I had significant expectations. Unfortunately later on, when this Big secret occurred, I was a disappointed because of the two things. First, although after the first third of the story it was obvious that this Big secret will occur I was not happy with it. And second, I was disappointed with the way the author dealt with it. It was obvious that the only purpose of the Big secret was just to make a conflict between the hero and heroine in order for them to realize that they care deeply for one another and to reunite again, but this time for good. For me the whole idea of the Big secret was presented in a superficial way.

Regardless of this disappointment, I enjoyed the short time I spent with Reunited. I finished the last page with big smile on my face. For me, in this case that is enough to recommend the story. If you are looking for something light and fast, Reunited is a good choice.
