Sheltered her entire life, Jessie Murdock has rarely gotten her way. Until her dying father makes a deal with Cadde Hardin. Cadde will get shares of Shilah Oil on one condition—marry Jessie. In love with him for years, Jessie doesn’t hesitate to sign the papers. But she didn’t sign up for a completely absent husband.

Now Jessie has a counter offer. She’ll give Cadde controlling interest of the business if he’ll give her a baby…the natural way. Only he has a few caveats of his own. When life refuses to follow their written plan, Jessie and Cadde have to decide which is more important: their unspoken love or the family business.

Love will always win out.

I’ve had the honor of reading the other books in Ms. Warren’s Hardin Boys series. I’m glad I got this one as well. Ms. Warren writes stories with characters I can’t forget and situations I need to root for them to overcome. The words simply flow on the page and take the reader from scene to scene effortlessly. I might not have agreed with every single one of the characters’ actions – who really does? That’s what gets the reader emotionally involved in the story–I still had to know what would happen next.

Jessie has been in love with Cadde for as long as she can remember. Her feelings for Cadde are sweet and mixed with the right amount of spice. Still, there were things she did that I understood, but I wasn’t real thrilled with. More than once I wanted to bop her on the head and say, hey! Don’t do that! Still, the explanations as to why she does makes sense and being in her shoes, I can’t say I wouldn’t have done differently.

Cadde. The guy is a conundrum clad in sexy business clothes and boots. As soon as he stepped on the page, I knew he cared so deeply for Jessie. I totally understood his confusion and divided loyalties–love the girl or the job. While it’s been done, Ms. Warren made it work in this book. I wanted to see him succeed and become the man I knew he could be. I wasn’t let down. In fact, reading from Cadde’s point of view was fantastic and had some very hot moments.

If you want a book that will stay with you long after the last page and is chock full of characters you’ll root for from the get-go, then you need to read The Texan’s Bride. It’s a fun, sweet, and spicy read.

One aspect of this story that really separates it from any other story I have read is that it is extremely light hearted and playful. This was an exciting change to the typical love affair. It also allowed the author to display the characters’ personality well, including the plethora of sub characters throughout the story. At times I found myself so enchanted by the banter that I forget the antagonist was leaking around the corner.

The antagonistic conflict played a large role in Genie Knows Best sometimes to the point that I forgot it was a romance story. While I think that the antagonistic conflict was fitting to the story and help it progress nicely, I would have liked to have seen a little more time spent building the romantic aspect of this story.

This story was full of many mythical creatures, which really keep me on my toes. You never knew when Gremlins, Leprechauns, unicorns, or any other mythical creature you can think of would show up. I love mythical creatures so this was something I thoroughly enjoyed. Especially when they got to arguing with each other. I could have read about the fights for days between all of the creatures in Izaaz.

Not only is this a story I would recommend to others, I already have a few people in mind that I know would love it and plan to tell them today. So if you are looking for a love story with a laugh this would certainly fit the bill.

Scrumptious scoundrel. Daredevil T Dobbs, the sexiest cowboy to ever walk the streets of Delight, Texas, headed out of town, taking Melanie Honeycutt’s heart with him. But now he’s back and hotter than ever. Trust him? Her head says no but her body has other ideas.

Stubborn woman. She was the girl T never forgot and the woman he yearns for in the deepest part of his heart. But what’s a man to do when she doesn’t believe he’s home for good? T knows his way around dangerous curves, and Mel’s are hot enough to burn a man. He figures it’ll take a slow hand and some downright smokin’-hot sex to melt her reserve but he’s definitely up for the challenge.

Reader beware: Wear you contact lenses while reading this story! Regina Carlysle knows how to write a story that steams up the reading glasses!

Ms. Carlysle is now in my “favorite writer’s” folder and on my must have books list. I loved this story and I know it will be a favorite one for a repeat read in the future.

Tall dark and handsome Heywood “T” Dobbs is a famous stuntman and local town hero, not to mention one sexy and very HOT daredevil. This cowboy turns heads when he swaggers back into his hometown of Delight, Texas but he is here for only one reason and that is to claim the lady he has loved since high school, Melanie Honeycutt.

Melanie, a high school English teacher and basketball coach, has gotten stuck handling the Miss Peach Delight Contest for the fair in town square. She loves her small town but she still pines for her long lost love T Dobbs. After all these years she should be able to move on, especially since a good looking biology teacher named Bradley Moore is asking her out these days yet she still delays. Her life is then turned inside out when T shows up announcing to the world that he is back in town to stay and he plans on making Melanie his “woman” forever. But can poor Melanie’s heart forgive him for leaving her in the first place and can she trust him at his word this time? Can lost love be rekindled and burn hotter than ever?

Soon misunderstandings bring new heartache to our heroine, but in the end all is “Happily Ever After”!

The sizzling chemistry between T and Melanie melted off the pages of the book from the very beginning.

I found myself completely enthralled in their heated “love-scenes” and anxious to turn the page to reveal yet another facet of these character’s rekindling romance. Regina Carlysle made the descriptive overview of her characters come to life in vivid technicolor, as I felt I could see her characters in precise detail. Fanning myself through this story was a given, but even that hardly helped with cooling this reader down. I was completely drawn into this romance and found myself reaching for my hormone pills in case this hot flash combusted! I would say the love scenes were hotter than Texas in July!

With interesting and colorful side characters, I found myself hoping to read about their lives and romances in future installments. I really like that as the reader I could see the humbleness and insecurities of both characters in their quirks and their banter making them seem so touchable and real.

I was extremely impressed with the fluidity of the storyline that flowed so sensually. Regina Carlysle’s smooth story-telling lured this reader into her fictional reality completely. I found myself reading this book non-stop from start to finish without even realizing that my allotted leisure time had passed by. In fact I read this story twice, that is how much I enjoyed it. The editing was great on this book and my only complaint was that the story was so short (sorry guys, that is always my complaint on short stories and I am aware this is my problem not the story’s). I would have loved to read more about these characters and their lives, but for a short story again I say Regina Carlysle really brought this story to life.

Need a little daredevil in your life? Well this is one hot cowboy you can fantasize about! Looking for a lost romance rekindled? Than this story is for you! Can you handle the heat? Come on, I dare you!

Don’t Give Up, or Why I Love Romance
by Sarah Mäkelä

One of the most important things I’ve learned as a writer and a person is to not give up. Point in case, I’d never expected this year to bring me four new releases. Up until the end of April, I was growing ever wearier with writing since it seemed like no matter what I did I wasn’t breaking through after years of trying. Thankfully, my husband kept supporting and encouraging me to hang in there. Boy, I’m glad I listened to him and didn’t give up! I tied for first in Changeling Press’s Shamrock Challenge Contest (and won a contract and advertising). And that happened with a genre — cyberpunk romance, to be exact — I’d decided to try out for fun.

You never know where life is going to take you.

Even for my characters from Savage Bytes, Ian Bradley and Hannah Franklin… They’d separated previously due to problems in their relationship, but fate and dire circumstances threw them together in the first book Techno Crazed, and now they’re trying again to make their relationship work as well as facedown the external challenges that come their way. Some of their problems throw them in circumstances they never dreamed to be in, and not in a good way either, but to make it through, they have rely on each other for support. Purchasing respitecaresa.org order cheap cialis through online is the greatest method to obtain the quality item and you will also get savings that are numerous. And male impotence need not be chronic to make its presence felt. The drug first nullifies canadian cialis the effect of an enzyme called PDE 5, blood flow gets restricted and it results in harder and bigger erection. It is just wonderful how males are now able to why not try this out cheapest levitra eliminate premature ejaculation. Erectile dysfunction is most browse to find out more now cheap cialis 20mg common in older men but now even young men report to suffer from it. They can’t give up, or well… if they did, it wouldn’t be a very good story! *grins*

And I think that’s one of the things I most love about the romance genre. No problem is too big. Happy endings are always in reach!

Humankind is plagued by an unspeakable evil who releasing monsters of nightmares. The banished world of magic is fading unable to contain or fight the evil threating the humans.

The Hollow King begins the journey of five unlikely companions. All harbor secrets that have the power to destroy or save. Friendships are formed. Love is found and destroyed. Can they overcome their differences and adversities to begin seeking the Specter of Hope?

Leave the world you know behind and join the quest for the Scepter of Hope.

Ms. Romaney has created an enchanting world filled with magic, fantastic creatures, and wonderful characters. The world in The Hollow King is being threatened by Ovezara, an evil sorceress. Five strangers, Queen Taraly, Taigo, King Crenshaw, Sancha, and Jalie, find themselves bound on a quest to recover the Scepter of Hope, the only thing that can rid the world of the evil. However, each member of the alliance seems to have secrets or a personal agenda that threaten to derail the quest. Will the uneasy alliance follow the path fate has destined for them, or will the quest fail before it even starts?

One of the things I like most about The Hollow King are the interesting characters on the quest. Taraly is probably my favorite of the bunch. She is strong and loyal, but also young and impulsive. After the death of her father, Taraly is so determined to prove that she can be a great queen, that she makes some foolish decisions. Despite her rash behavior, I found her very easy to like. Though she is a woman, she fights as well as any man, and she’ll fight fiercely to defend those she cares about. I also liked that Taraly had a softer side to balance her character a bit. Once she begins the quest, Taraly begins to have feelings for Taigo. However, Taraly has never been in love before and is uncertain of her feelings or how to act on them. I certainly look forward to watching their relationship progress in future installments of the series.

Taigo is definitely a mysterious character. He’s the leader of the outsiders, misfits who are beings of magic and are generally shunned by humans. However, Taigo’s knowledge of the world of magic makes him a valuable asset on the quest. At first, Taigo seemed very reserved. I had a hard time discerning his personality. As the story progressed, Taigo gradually came out of his shell. Though humanity has hardly been kind to his people, Taigo is an honorable man determined to save the world from evil. That sort of integrity is very admirable. Taigo really shines when he is with Taraly. They bring out the best in each other. I loved watching them practicing sword play or engaging in flirtatious banter.

Crenshaw is a broken man. Like Taraly, he is a young ruler. Undertaking natural ways to cialis 10mg generico deal with this problem is wiser and better step than to administer any medication. The medicine is easy to use as it involves a simple procedure of having Kamagra Soft Tabs. secretworldchronicle.com levitra 20 mg If it is instance to cialis tablets in india intake the subsequent dose, then it is fine if you avert missed one. In must be said that online consultations can never take the place of traditional medicine, they do provide a valid means for patients to receive treatment for a number of conditions that, in many levitra vardenafil generic circumstances, do not actually require a physical exam. Unfortunately, Crenshaw made the mistake of falling for Ovezara. After she took over his kingdom, he was tortured for months at her hand. Once Taigo helps him escape, Crenshaw only has thoughts of revenge. At first, Crenshaw’s character seemed very one dimensional. He doesn’t care for anyone or anything. The only thing he wants to do is kill Ovezara. However, as I continued to read, Ms. Romaney gives little flashes of insight that reveal Crenshaw isn’t as hard as he seems. Despite his sarcastic outer shell, he does care about the fate of humanity and even comes to care about the other members on the quest.

If I had to describe Sancha in one word, it would be dependable. After the loss of his father, Sancha is determined to rid the world of the evil creatures that killed his father. Though Sancha seems plain compared to the other characters on the quest, he is every bit as important. He is a skilled fighter and has the extra ability to communicate with animals. I especially enjoyed his humorous conversations with a wolfhound.

Jalie is the most enigmatic member of the group. She is the daughter of the oracle, so she knows certain things about the future, but cannot always reveal what she knows. I found it very hard to discern if Jalie was lying or simply leaving out some of the truth. Despite my unease about her character, I enjoyed watching Jalie and Sancha interact. The two have a budding romance that is very sweet to watch. However, Jalie’s secretive behavior weighs heavily on him. I have a feeling their romance is going to follow a rough road.

One of the things that set The Hollow King apart from other stories is that Ovezara is a truly interesting villainess. She is selfish, power hungry, and commits some truly terrible acts in the story, and yet, I found myself feeling sorry for her. Ovezara is not her own master. She is following the orders of a very evil man called Trelek who has abused her for most of her life. I can’t help but think that Ovezara would have chosen a different path for her life if Trelek hadn’t gotten a hold of her. I look forward to watching her character continue to develop in the next book in the series.

Ms. Romaney is also very adept at adding little twists into the plot. Just when I thought I had certain characters figured out, Ms. Romaney revealed a hidden relationship or bit of back story that would cast everything in a different light. These little surprises added a great deal of depth to an already interesting story.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Hollow King, but I must warn readers that this book ends at a pivotal moment that leaves readers hanging until the next book in the series comes out. I have become so wrapped up in the characters and their quest, that I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment. Readers who enjoy a great fantasy with a touch of romance won’t want to miss this book.

All heiress Kara Mikos wants is a vacation cruise and a hot shipboard fling. When her father phones to say there is a plot to kidnap her, she brushes it off as another of his many attempts to control her life.

Private security expert Harper Long doesn’t mean to fall for his client’s sexy daughter but what better way to keep her close enough to protect? Granting his libido free rein comes with a price, though—a treasure he’s not willing to lose.

Kara Mikos: beautiful heiress, longs for the one thing in life she’s never found. Honesty. A man who wants her for who she is as a person and not the title she carries as heiress to a great fortune. Kara has never found a man who would tell her the truth, not even her father. For her, the parable of the poor little rich girl who has never found love is true. Her answer: To don a disguise and secretly set sail on a cruise ship as an anonymous single woman looking for a fling.

When Kara meets Harper Long in the ship’s lounge, fling doesn’t come close to describing how hard she falls for the sexy, muscular and confident man. Soon they are having wildly passionate, raging hot sex in her room. Kara feels in heaven with the freedom she possesses with her anonymous persona. Nothing has ever come close to the amazing lovemaking she experiences with Harper.

Little does she know, that Harper is a private security expert hired by her father to guard and protect her because of a kidnapping threat he has received. When her father had warned her earlier of the threat, Kara did not believe him because of his previous deceits. Kara has come to expect her father’s exaggerations and overprotection.

Harper is usually a professional in every way when he is on the job. But when he sees Kara, all thoughts except his undeniable attraction to her go straight out the window and he does what he has never done before: seduces his client’s daughter. But in light of the escalating danger surrounding Kara, Harper refuses to leave her alone. She has other plans though, and slips away from him as he sleeps.

Wynter Daniels has taken the tale of the over-protected rich girl who falls in love with her bodyguard and given it a breath of fresh air. There is exciting sexual tension and real ‘edge of your seat’ suspense in this sexy-sweet and fast-paced little thriller. She really packed a lot into this short story. I enjoyed this more realistic take on the familiar fairy tale very much. Harper is one hot alpha male who nearly pounces off the pages. I sure liked him!

I also was very impressed with the believable and satisfying ending which left me hopeful and pleased. Ms. Daniels has imbued the people in her story with dimension and real character which endeared me to them and had me cheering them on to the end. For, in the end, Kara, Harper and even Kara’s father all find the higher ground and are left with the great rewards of overcoming their challenges.

I eagerly await the next installments in this new series and hope that they are as entertaining and inspiring as this one is. I recommend, Sizzle at Sea, book one in the Long and Hard series to all romance lovers who want a dose of exciting adventure with their ‘sizzle’!

Searching for a romance containing a hot cowboy, a saucy heroine, and enough tension to keep you turning the pages? Look no further. Joanne Kennedy’s Tall, Dark, and Cowboy is all that and then some.

When the novel begins, you are introduced to the heroine, Lacey Bradford; an ex-trophy wife who’s been spoiled her entire life. It’s taken a bad divorce and a healthy dose of fear to send her back home to the one man she has always been able to count on. Unfortunately, things have changed. The boy she once knew has grown, becoming a sexy cowboy she can’t stop thinking about. Will Lacey realize that she could lose everything in her determination to stand on her own?

One minor complaint: Lacey’s constant reminder to the reader that she’s an ex-trophy wife. After several mentions, the information became redundant. It’s established early on that she’s lived off her husband’s money and is established as a young, beautiful wife worthy of envy. However, this is a very small issue that doesn’t hamper the overall enjoyment of the story. Once the reader settles in and falls in love with Chase, who is absolutely swoon-worthy, it’s impossible to think about anything else. The writing is sharp, the dialogue is witty, and the pace is perfect.

A definite must read for romance readers who love cowboys, be sure not to miss Tall, Dark, and Cowboy.

A dandy is cheating in a gambling den of the Borealis space station, and Lieutenant Zara Frankel intends to catch him in the act. She always gets her man, but this one could prove more than she can handle.

Captain Czerno Drake, code name Black Dragon, intends to break his innocent uncle from the most secure penitentiary in the galaxy, on the Borealis space station. He will stop at nothing to succeed, even enrolling the help of the lovely straight arrow TPP enforcer. When Zara realizes that she’s been used by a shrewd but seductive rebel, however, her reaction surprises everyone, most of all herself.

I love the world of the Borealis Space Station. Unlike most, this is not a bright and shiny place to live and work, but a villainous, dark and decrepit pit, falling apart and inhabited by some of the dregs of the universe. I found the characters created by Ms. Schartz fit perfectly into this world, and I enjoyed following them all on this adventure.

In orbit around Sestus-3 sits an aging space station under the control of the Trans Planetary Protectorate. The Borealis is slowly falling apart as the TPP funnels its massive resources into the border wars and keeping the outlaying systems in line. The Borealis is a hive of villainy where anything can be bought or sold — anything or anyone — if the price is right. This is one tale of the people on both sides of the law, the beings who inhabit the Borealis.

Captain Czerno Drake has arrived on the infamous space station, intent on furthering his reputation as a skilled and lucky gambler at the casino. With his massive space yacht, Providence, and his fancy clothes, he appears to be the very image of the rich and successful dandy he wants everyone in the TPP to think he is. But there is a hidden agenda, and nothing is as it seems to be. Captain Czerno Drake is also the notorious rebel leader, Black Dragon, and he is on a mission to rescue his deeply religious and innocent uncle, wrongly imprisoned on Borealis. TPP Lieutenant Zara Frankel believes Captain Drake is a cheat, and sets out to prove it, going undercover to try and get the evidence she needs to trip him up. Zara joined the TPP to do good, but she is no longer the wide-eyed innocent who believes in the goodness of the Protectorate, but she intends to do her job to the best of her ability. But Czerno Drake gets under her skin, and soon, into her heart. When she learns who he really is, will she help in his quest to free an innocent religious man? Can she turn her back on her life with the TPP, and join the rebel cause? Can she trust this gambler with the biggest prize of all-her heart?

I like the balance of humor and danger in this story, and the action kept me glued to the pages.

Zara Frankel is an officer in the TPP, but she is not sure that she can continue to blindly go along with thing as they are. I like her strength, and her determination to do the right thing, even if the right thing conflicts with the goals of the Protectorate. I enjoyed watching as she discovered nothing is as it seems, and loved her surprise at seeing who was willing to confide in her to help Czerno rescue his uncle.

Czerno Drake, AKA the Black Dragon, is strong and determined to get to his uncle and get him off the Borealis. He has no plans to fall in love, and he certainly didn’t plan on meeting the one woman who could tame the Black Dragon. Czerno is loyal to friends and family, and that eventually grows to encompass Zara in the small but elite group of confidants. I like his sense of humor, and his ability to think and act quickly. I also loved his choice of pets, his white angora cat, Marshmallow, who travels everywhere with the Captain.

This is a gentle love story, filled with twists and turns, and danger for our intrepid hero and heroine. There is a hidden agenda from the Protectorate, and a surprise or two uncovered along the way. I enjoyed watching as suspicion turned to admiration, and admiration became the first flickers of love between Czerno and Zara. Do these two find the strength to be together and fight for the cause together? Pick up a copy of Borealis: Black Dragon by Vijaya Schartz and enter a world of adventure, romance and a spoiled cat named Marshmallow.

Throw in a dog named Buddy and a second beach-hunk named Paul and soon this suspense climbs to a chilling and unexpected climax. Can there be a “happily ever after” for Tony and Alley?

This is the second review that I have done on an Amber Skyze beach romance book. I have to say, her stories make me want to rush to the coast and catch myself a hunk like her characters. If only I could reel them in like our heroine does! This tale was as HOT as a July summer beach day! I really enjoyed the fact that we got a suspenseful adventure that kept this reader captivated. Amber Skyze did a great job at setting up a scenario that not only peaks your curiosity, but also keeps you sitting on pins and needles at the end, wondering if our heroine can be saved in time.

What more can a gal want in a short story romance? Sex On the Beach has great location, two sexy characters, a villain and a plot. When mixed with a talented writer, you have the ingredients for a possible best seller.

Thank you for inviting me to contribute; it’s a great pleasure.

Q1. Which is your favourite Jane Austen hero/heroine and why?

Answer– As the author of the Pemberley Series, which followed the lives of the characters from “ Pride and Prejudice”, I may outrage readers by naming Mr Knightley ( Emma) and Anne Elliott ( Persuasion ) as my favourite male and female Austen characters. The reasons are not difficult to outline- despite my immense admiration for characters like Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, I find both Mr Knightley and Miss Elliott better developed characters in the novels in which they feature. Perhaps the fact that these are later novels, written several years after Pride and Prejudice, may account for the fact that the author gives us a more rounded picture of their characters- both showing a degree of maturity in the way they deal with the characters and situations in which they find themselves.

Q2- Tell us what it was like to get your first “call” to publication.

Answer– I have to be honest- there was no real “call to publication” as such. The first volume of the Pemberley Series – “The Pemberley Chronicles” was published as a result of a fortuitous meeting on a sunny afternoon in 1997- between the enterprising Manager of a publishing place in Sydney, Australia called The Pink Panther and the author. Having listened to what it was all about and read a few chapters of the manuscript, the lady who was herself a fan of Jane Austen agreed to publish the book, on certain terms- and four months later- the first proof copies emerged! Needless to say, it was a thrilling moment- until we discovered they had no pagination! Panic reigned, until the Operations Manager stepped in and took charge- and by the miracle of modern technology – computerised printing- a few keystrokes later- the pagination was in and the presses rolled again. Thereafter, the response of reviewers and readers led to the nine follow- up volumes of the Pemberley Series. The complete series was picked up and reprinted in the USA by Sourcebooks in 2007.

Q3- How does living in Australia influence your writing?

Answer– I have lived in Australia for the past thirty years and while it is very different to Regency England, I do have access to all the resources of some of the best libraries and the internet to do my research. I have visited England and am quite familiar with the places in the novels. I have also studied English history and literature intensively at University. To give some credit to Australia- the freedom and sense of space that I enjoy living in our beautiful national capital- Canberra, together with the many resources available to us, provide both the inspiration and the quality of life that any writer would envy.
