Jack Greene writes white hot stories and when I see a new one out, well, I have to nab it. I’m glad I grabbed this story. Sure, it’s short, but that’s part of the beauty. It’s quick and hot. This is told from Devon’s point of view. I loved seeing what was rolling around in his head. Although he started out as not my favorite character, I quickly came to love him. He’s honest and puts his heart on the line. I loved when he ogled Stephen. I felt like I was right there with him.

Stephen is every reader’s version of the perfect man. He’s an actor and he’s sexy to boot. I loved that even though he’s a professional, I got to see a side of him that was part clumsy, part scared, and totally honest. His forthrightness really made the story shine.

If you want a book that’s got equal parts heat and heart, you need to read Lights, Camera…. It’s a fun read.

Take my very good friend Kilt Kilpatrick, the author of the new Ravenous Romance anthology Under the Kilt. Kilt is a literary chameleon who has written first time gay male erotica, naughty romps of a college co-ed, touching lesbian love stories, and even the occasional straight coupling (or tripling…). And though I have it on good authority that Kilt is a straight male, he certainly has been mistaken for some other sex and /or sexual orientation by readers who’ve assumed that only a gay man, a lesbian, a naughty co-ed, etc., could have written the story in question.

If that weren’t enough tomfoolery already, when he’s not gender-bending, he’s genre-bending. I don’t normally look for spicy erotica in my historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, steampunk or horror stories, but damn if Kilt isn’t part alchemist and somehow manages to blend the most unlikely ingredients into wickedly delish literary cocktails. Come see what I mean:

A few of the twelve stories in Under the Kilt are perfectly contemporary; albeit very hot – but they’re arranged alongside other sneakier stories that seem buttoned down, ordinary and respectable until they quickly slant into the paranormal like a werewolf at that time of the month. Then there are lush historical tales with settings so richly detailed they’re like stepping into another world. And you’ll also wander through stories set in the strange and scary surreal estate of fantasy, science fiction and horror (Yes, horror – who knew?) “The Tiger’s Tale” is a historical fantasy set in the British Raj, featuring romance, intrigue, danger, tigers and gods in Victorian India.

A feisty Berkeley grad student says “Later Days, Saints” when two Mormon missionaries come knocking on her door with surprising results. Next is “Handsome and Grateful,” a fractured fairytale take on the classic Brothers Grimm story of Hansel and Gretel, complete with a celebrity narrator, a slightly more mature Hansel and Gretel, a wicked witch, and a heroic woodsman – or are they? When the zombie apocalypse hits in “Last Times at Ridgemont High,” is it a nightmare come to life or a surprisingly sexy dream come true for our high school hero? Maybe a little of both…

What, two zombie stories in an erotica collection? A Zombacalypse horror story is an odd place to have a tender romance, but Kilt’s readers have especially liked the touching, haunting “Love Bites: A Survival Guide.” A Seattle fireman thinks he may be the last man on Earth after zombies overrun the world – until a mysterious woman appears. But is she real, or just his imagination, or something even worse? Don’t let the title of “Humahumanukunukuapua’a” scare you. It’s actually a charming story of a mainland girl in Hawaii having to cope with her increasingly powerful girl-crush on her best friend.

For the m/m fans, there are three more treats: “Reach Out and Touch Someone” is the “lost chapter” of Kilt’s debut novel, The Manny Diaries; in fact it’s the original opening to the book, but it was so hot the publishers decided to make it a stand-alone story. “That Afternoon” reads like a stand-alone story of a young man’s first time with another man, but it’s actually an excerpt from TMD, as is the sweet and spicy Christmas story “Santa Claus is Coming.”

Three truly fantastical stories round out the collection, including two never before published: “Mutated States Of America” is a post-apocalyptic romance-adventure set in a bizarre, savage but strangely beautiful near-future earth changed almost beyond recognition. “Lady Cassiopeia’s Amaranthine Palace; or, the Aerial Xanadu” is a quirky, baroque little Steampunk tale with a twist, a high-tech Tolkienesque fantasy set in the wild, wild, west of a techno-magical America that never was. Last is a novella, “The Blue Morpheus Inn,” a magical collaboration between Kilt and another popular Ravenous Romance author, the fabulous Inara Lavey (the bold, brilliant, wicked woman who rocks his world on a regular basis). Three college students heading home for the holidays are forced to spend the night at a mysterious motel where dreams come true, like it or not…

Though set in different times and places, and even different worlds, with varying degrees of fun and seriousness, these dozen Kilty pleasures all share the spicy romance elements that Ravenous readers have come to love. Some are wicked, some are sweet, some feature M/F action, some M/M, some F/F, or varying combinations of hot ménages; something for everyone, really. But make no mistake – these stories aren’t for everybody. Just you.

And btw, true confessions time… As you may have guessed by now, I’m not just an acquaintance who sure knows an awful lot about his very good friend’s anthology: I am Kilt Kilpatrick… and I truly hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed writing them for you!
All the best,
-Kilt

Gabriel Blackstone’s world is divided quite clearly into castes: everyone knows their place and abides by it. As an inventor in the merchant caste, his life is predictable in its routine until the night his best friends and assistants, Caleb and Andrew, purchase the time—and body—of a companion for his birthday. As an activist in the Caste Equality movement, everything Gabriel believes in tells him to refuse the gift, but then he meets Lucio. The beautiful and alluring companion is far more than the vapid courtesan he’d expected, and he can’t get the man out of his mind.

After that night, Gabriel tells himself to forget about Lucio, but a chance meeting at a ball makes it clear neither of them is willing to ignore the compelling chemistry between them. It will take all their combined trust and cunning, plus the help of a wily aristocrat and a plucky political activist, to overcome the challenges of infidelity, abuse, and social stigma that lay along their road; however, Gabriel knows it will all be worth it if at the end of the day he can call Lucio his own.

“I cannot change what they do to my body, but I will never kiss anyone but you.” A kiss was all that Lucio could give Gabriel to show his love.

This book went a long way in derailing my thoughts and feelings when I first started reading mainly because I had no idea where I was as far as time and space was concerned. Steampunk is brand new to this reviewer and it took a few chapters to realize the story took place in the Victorian era with steambased inventions that put me in mind of Artemus Gordon in Wild, Wild West, inventions like mechanical coaches, fans, and other items that would not be found in the time period. I must admit I had a ball seeing how the author incorporated steam machines into the plot.

My heart went out to Lucio, who was a companion for those in a world where the mark on their hand determined their casts in life. His occupation for lack of a better word was “pleasure partner” and he has no say in what the higher class does to him, but he has wants and dreams beyond his pretty face and sex. Gabriel Blackstone from the merchant caste is given a birthday gift that he will never forget when his friends pay for a night with Lucio. However, no sex and honest conversation leads to a lasting impression on both of them and sparks desires for more than the hand life has dealt them.

The combination of their heart and chemistry left this reader hanging on and hoping for a happy ever after. There is a suite of personality tests cialis soft order available from Hogan Assessments that assess individual qualities in relation to our success, identify our internal drivers, and expose the actions that we demonstrate when we’re suffering stress. I will admit that there were times in the plot that I was upset and felt that Lucio and the companions he knew were being degraded. Ms. Tachna’s writing is so vivid I couldn’t help but hurt for the painful and heart-wrenching experiences they sometimes faced.

The cruelty and torture the pleasure class endured was particularly hard to take when Lucio confesses to Cressida, another companion, how Gabriel was different and told her that “for an evening, I got to be me. Me. Not the polished, practiced companion everyone sees, but me.” This sentiment brought tears to my eyes. It was romantic and heartbreaking watching Gabriel deal with irrational jealousy because of Lucio’s fate in life.

Ms. Tachna added a lot of twists and turns in the plot. I found it was easy to become spellbound and enchanted by the two main characters. The storyline itself flowed well and did not drag or bog down which made for an enjoyable, albeit anger-filled story emotionally. Personally I enjoyed the book a lot but there were times when the subject matter of torture and rape were a little more graphic then what I am use to reading. However, it fit well into the story and only added to pulling me into this decadent lifestyle. If you’ve been considering picking up a steampunk book and love a story that grabs both your heart and mind, The Inventor’s Companion is a good place to start.

Ken and Melissa are at the dawn of a magnificent life together. A passionate romance has led them to the doorstep of marriage. While searching for the perfect wedding present for Melissa, Ken stumbles into a mysterious shop. There, he is given an extraordinary opportunity – to look in on Melissa when she was a girl. Ken has always wished he could have known Melissa from the day she was born and this seems like an incredible blessing. Until he discovers a terrible secret in Melissa’s past, one so awful she has found it impossible to mention to him.

Now Ken has another extraordinary opportunity. He can go back in time and change the horrible event that has left an indelible mark on Melissa. He can free her of this burden – but doing so could change things so completely that they might never meet.

Ken has repeatedly told Melissa that he would do anything for her. But would he truly do anything?

A mix of magic and magnificent love makes Anything mesmerizing.

Ken Timian and Melissa Argent meld their lives together in a way only soul mates can manage. Even though their careers are not particularly compatible, they respect the efforts, abilities, and successes of each other. As their wedding day approaches, two fortune cookies prove to have significant messages—“A major change is coming” and “Your heart will show you the way.” This foreshadowing hints at the life-changing conflict that comes.

While Melissa is not materialistic, but she appreciates and enjoys beautiful things, and Ken loves to find unique pieces of jewelry for her. A mysterious little shop, Stephon’s, never fails to yield up just the perfect piece. The shop is like an archeological dig full of jewels, gold, and silver. As Ken searches for a gift to commemorate their cherished courtship and welcome their marriage, Stephon, the owner of the shop, asks Ken what his greatest fantasy is concerning Melissa.

When Ken reveals his fantasy, Stephon says he can make it happen. However, while it will be informative and amusing, it can also be disconcerting. Then Ken’s second request changes the dynamics of both his and Melissa’s lives. Can I canadian viagra online Save Money Through a Trusted Site? He cannot tolerate going backward to a lifestyle he once savored nor can he seem to move forward until he exhausts all avenues of getting to his soul mate.

Many of the secondary characters are interesting, but Stephon is unique. One wonders if there is not a story behind the moonstone he and Ken believe is perfect for Melissa. The mystical power of the moonstone is believed to protect women and babies. It is also said to balance yin and yang, bring good fortune, and is highly prized for lovers as it arouses tender passion. What fun it would be to know the mystery of Stephon—maybe he will show up again in a later Baron story.

By using first person POV, Michael Baron creates a close relationship between the reader and Ken Timian. Ken’s intimate hopes, dreams, fears, and resolve along with his desperation create an urgency that keeps one turning pages in an attempt to get Ken to the love he seems to be so deserving of.

Melissa is less closely connected, but her story is enthralling and breathtaking. She has a talent that “burns in her blood,” but because of a past traumatic experience, she denies it. Yet, she functions with compassion and dedication in the life she has chosen in lieu of the life she once dreamed of having. As the reader sees her a different way, after Ken’s life-changing deed, Melissa sparkles with vibrant life but with the same compassion and concern for others as before. She does not dismiss that spark of recognition as she sees Ken among the teeming crowd, but reaches out to him.

With poignant metaphors and magical imagery, the exquisite writing style of Michael Baron brings to life an enchanting love story that surpasses the usual and reveals a love willing to give all to assure a loved one gets to fulfill a deferred dream and innermost desire. Mr. Baron sprinkles Anything with humor, joy, social issues, exciting back story, and family relationships as he captivates with an incredible love story of soul mates finding their way to each other through a maze strewn with obstacles.

An ancient Hopi prophecy…the end of the Fourth World … a mysterious ruin…and a window between worlds.

Anthropologist Will Lansa grew up as a privileged child in Aspen, Colorado, but spent summers on the Hopi reservation, where his father was chief of police. Now Lansa grudgingly returns to his roots on the reservation after receiving a baffling message from Vina Lansa, his aged grandmother.

Vina sends him on the quest of a lifetime– to find Pahana, the Hopi’s returned savior. But Will soon encounters strange and disturbing events, and becomes a suspect in a murder. Pursued by FBI agent Ellie Fletcher, the two find themselves literally lost in another world, unable to get home, and hunted by Masau’u, the manifestation of the god of death and the Underworld.

For honesty’s sake, I have to say I don’t consider this a “romance novel”. There is an attraction, there is a “happily ever after” of sorts, and there is a scene including sexual relations; however, I would consider this more of an action/thriller. That being said, this romance fan REALLY enjoyed this book.

Dealing with the Hopi/Native American/Indian end-time prophecy, this book is set in the very-near future. The plot line is just real enough to be possible. This is one of those stories where you have to remind yourself that you are reading fiction, not truth. It was just a rumour that erectile dysfunction is deadly but after viagra for women uk being introduced in the market it has become possible. Make sure it provides sample generic viagra you with genuine and effective female arousal products works for issues like decreased sexual desire and increased ejaculation time. Even though there is time travel, reality switching and body-sharing (time stealing), everything becomes plausible in this story.

The plot brings together old friends and twists and turns in relationships, realities, and timelines until none of them are sure what is reality and what is thrown their way to prevent the coming of the Fifth World. The reality jumping and native names do make things very confusing at times, but the story itself is gripping and keeps you reading until the end.

As stated earlier, there is a sexual encounter between Will and Ellie. A mutual attraction is mentioned during the story, but this encounter is more a plot element than an expression of their feelings for one another.

Leave plenty of time to read this novel. It’s long, and sheer volume will make it last. You won’t want to put the book down once Will visits his grandmother for the first time – things just start to snowball at that point, and you won’t want to miss anything. Also, the beginning of the book – while very important to understanding what happens later, can be very confusing, and may need a few “re-reads”. Do it as many times as you need, the rest of the story will be your reward! In fact, this may be one of the books you want to buy in hardback and then put on your “keeper” shelf!

One devilish night…or a chance at heaven?

Lone Star Lovers, Book 5

Sam Logan’s foster sons have a bad rep in Two Mule, Texas. Most of it earned. When it becomes clear they don’t plan on giving up scootin’ after every pretty pair of boots in town anytime soon, he issues the one thing he knows they can’t resist: a challenge. Find a wife.

The oldest, Johnny, is actually grateful. He’s had his eye on Mean Ellie Harker for a long time, and Sam’s challenge is the kick in the pants he needed to ask her out. Except before he can make his move, his brothers kidnap her right out from under his nose. Now, instead of being one question away from victory, he has to compete for the woman of his dreams.

Ellie thought she’d be a dried up old spinster before Johnny finally untangled his tongue long enough to ask for a date. But instead of teaching him better uses for that tongue, his brothers have whisked her away to the ranch. At first she’s furious…then intrigued when she starts to wonder what it might be like to have not just one sexy cowboy dedicated to her pleasure, but four…

Sometimes a book leaves you wanting more; this story only made me want the next story in the series. I was so pleasantly pleased with the outcome; I think I was actually shocked! The ending surprised me and the satisfied feelings I have about the storytelling have me grinning and giddy.

Ellie was labeled as “mean”. I never found her mean at all. She was spunky and sassy. She gave as good as she got and didn’t let anyone intimidate her. By no means a spinster at thirty, she finds herself in the center of the four Logan brothers. So, the first step to subconscious prices for cialis pain relief process that can make you forget about using Tramadol at all: 1. She has always been attracted to them but held herself back until one night of flirting changes everything. Now all the Logan men are showing her some attention. She is about to get more then she expected.

The heroes of the story are yummy but I really don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just give a light overview of the boys. Sam and Gracie Logan were never able to have children, so they opened their hearts and home to Johnny, Killian, and the twins, Mace and Jason. The boys flourished under Gracie’s love and attention. Three years ago they lost their mother, Gracie, and Sam thinks it time for the home to have a woman’s touch and laughter again. He doesn’t care if his boys bring home one woman to share or find four separate women, he just wants his home to be filled with love again.

While the likelihood of the story happening in real life is nil, it sure makes for a quick fun read. Ellie is kidnapped by the Logan brothers and discovers the joy and ecstasy of having her sexual desires fulfilled by four men. Their intentions are clear — they want her to enjoy herself and then chose one or more of them for her husband.

Ms. Devlin had me going back and forth on how I thought this story would end so many times I think I may have gotten whiplash. I was extremely pleased with the conclusion of the story and ecstatic about the possible next story in the series. I have every appendage crossed that the story that the she hinted towards gets told.

A Four-Gone Conclusion is a prime example on how a novella should be written; fast and fun, touching characters that pull you in and a story that is completely fulfilling. I finished the story with anticipation for the next installment. Here’s hoping I don’t have to wait too long.

The last thing she needs is to be distracted by a man, especially when he’s the powerful New York attorney who’s in town to represent the man her dream client has hired her to investigate.

Taylor Powers’ big city law career has brought him success, but a trip back to his home state of Florida has him wondering if it might be time to think of coming home for good. The sweet, sexy woman he’s drawn to only confuses matters. Callie’s career has made her a pro at keeping secrets and that plays havoc with his zero tolerance for deceptive women. Yet she attracts trouble like a magnet, kicking his protective instincts into overdrive.

Can Taylor unravel the mystery that is Callie? And with a past full of heartache, will Callie ever allow herself to believe happily ever after really can come true?

While the title had me expecting something rather whimsical, Ladybugs and Fireflies is, in fact, a zippy and quite classic contemporary romance with just enough intrigue to allow for the unexpected.

Callie Roberts, investigator, has had a crappy history in the romance department. And it’s been ages since she had a date. Taylor Powers does not appear to be the man who’s going to change all that. Well, perhaps for a moment there he does look like he’s going to change all that. Anything can happen in ‘speed dating,’ let’s face it. However, this fancy lawyer is only going to make life – and very probably her job – more difficult. She doesn’t know that at first of course: because they share one look and are swept away. Callie, although sweet in a slightly southern way, is far from the elegant yet helpless belle-type southern gal. In fact, I found her to be a perfectly wonderful leading lady: she’s feminine but self-sufficient; a bit of southern charm but tough, or maybe stern. Maybe a tiny bit of that self-sufficiency is from from life rather than inclination, but I found her admirable just the same. And she has a faintly humorous outlook, much of the time, that gives the story a sort of happy aura.

Taylor is everything a leading man should be: dashing, protective, forthright… and we hope, even honest. He’s good, and we so want Callie to see that. Maybe he’s not the complex character she is, but readers will really like him just the same. His point of view might reveal a little too much, but it isn’t distracting. It does help us to understand his frustration and maybe allow us to feel a little bit frustrated with Callie too. Aldredge really has a way of conveying not just a believable character, but their emotions. Secondary characters are also well done (friends are important- just look what Sally gets Callie into!)and happily fully-drawn also.

Simply put, this is a very entertaining story. The plot is interesting and engaging; the character’s goals obvious and understandable. The backdrop is great – there’s a real southern small-town flavor. There’s a few fun unexpected twists, quips and fun, but readers will want to read this for the wonderful characters and the depth of feelings you’ll share as you go.

Aldredge’s Ladybugs and Fireflies is one with appeal for all romance fans.

Setting is another strong point in this novel. The contrast between the town of Lubbock and the description of Bobby’s desolate, semi-abandonned home town is telling, to the point where I questioned whether anyone could be happy in such a place.

The romance is sweet, and the characters do a bit more than kiss, but it’s all very tastefully done and very believable as well, both the desire of Meagan to go a bit farther than kissing, and Bobby’s desire to hold the line.

I found the plot of this novel particularly satisfying, arising as it did from the hero and heroine’s characters and spiritual state, and the HEA ending, while a no-brainer for any reader of romance, particularly sweet. I rooted for the both of them from the first page right up to the last. If you enjoy inspirational romance, you’re sure to enjoy this book.

In Bollywood, the brightest stars are the ones who need the most care.

Amar Vartak is fresh off the plane from England and on the set of his first Bollywood movie. Rama Kamane is his crush, his hero and the hottest Bollywood star of the moment.

Amar wants him but Rama doesn’t dare go there. He has his reputation to protect and he doesn’t tangle with male actors. He hasn’t bargained on the English boy capturing his heart though…

Rama Kamane is a Bollywood legend. Women fall at his feet and millions flock to see his gorgeous visage on the silver screen. He knows how to play the press to keep his career going and if wants to go on to Hollywood, he needs to keep his homosexuality out of the tabloids.

Amar Vartak is a dreamer. Hitting it big in this Bollywood movie means everything but if he fails, he risks going home to England and an arranged marriage. He doesn’t plan to fall in lust with his co-star and idol, Rama but he can’t deny his feelings for the gorgeous actor. Ms. Blackwell has written a sinfully sexy gay Bollywood-style romance. The plot is fun and the chemistry hums between the two actors. With a prostitute playing the unlikely cupid and a well-meaning co-star who pushes them together, this story’s rich cast carries a lovely plot.

The ending was unexpectedly sweet and very enjoyable. While the story had a rough start with little description, the writing smoothed out by the end and I found myself rooting for the characters to get together.

Bollywood Dreams is one hot romance and with an HEA that delivers at the end, this romance is certainly dreamy. I recommend it for someone who is looking for an afternoon escape to Mumbai.
