Meagan Morales has innocence written all over her and she’s tired of it. So when her friends dare her to have an office affair with a man she’s been crushing on, she jumps at the chance to spice up her life. But the dare goes horribly wrong, and she hits a rough patch in life and in love—until she meets successful rocker Lyric Cooper. Just when she opens up to the idea of a new love, danger lurks in the shadows and she may need to risk her heart again to survive it.

Heidi and Zoey, Meagan’s two best friends have found love and solid relationships from following through on their respective dares. Now Meagan finds that it’s her turn, and her shyness won’t cut it as an excuse to back out. But will fulfilling the dare bring her the same happiness, and if not what next for shy Meagan?

The other drug approve by the FDA is minoxidil also identified as Rogaine assists to grow hair by widening the passage of the arteries. cheapest generic levitra I was extremely interested in the twist the author put on Meagan’s dare. Having it not work out the way Meagan had planned was an excellent catalyst to having Meagan come home to her best friends and cousin. I was really interested to see Meagan interact with all the secondary characters, particularly since the dynamic has changed so much since she left home – with Heidi and Zoey finding both partners and working together in a foursome with Rafe and Megan’s cousin, Nathan. I found their interactions were interesting and different to most other stories you find, even in erotic romances.

Coop was also an interesting choice for the hero for Meagan. With a mile-wide protective streak and a whole lot of patience he struck me as an excellent choice of hero for shy, naïve and somewhat innocent Meagan.

I was a little confused with the somewhat conflicting signals Meagan sent out. On the one hand her disaster of a previous experience had her firmly stating numerous times that she wasn’t in the right space for a relationship or sex at all, and that she was firmly off the market for now at least. Yet almost from the moment she met Coop, Meagan was desperately attracted to the handsome man and had wanted more than just friendship with him. These two things didn’t really gel together in my mind. Even though Meagan and Coop didn’t act on their attraction for a number of weeks the story jumped forward to where their attraction was a lot more fierce for each other, so Meagan insisting that she was ready for more felt a little jarring to me, particularly considering some of the circumstances that occurred in the very recent past for Meagan. Indeed, while I can completely understand the author not going into graphic detail of these circumstances (very unromantic!) I couldn’t help but feel this really serious event was almost completely glossed over.

Basically, for me, Meagan’s wanting to jump into a sexual relationship with Coop just didn’t feel realistic or sexy to me, personally. As a plot device, explaining why she came home, why her dare didn’t work out – all that made sense logically, I just didn’t feel the emotion behind it, partly because of the conflicting feelings (being devastated and saying “not ready” on one hand and being desperately in lust seconds later) but also because I felt the author really blunted a lot of the emotion side of Meagan’s (and thus me as a reader) response to this life-altering event.

There is plenty of very hot sex in this short story – though the vast majority of it is variations of the foursome; Zoey with Nathan and Rafe – and all four together: Zoey, Heidi, Nathan and Rafe. I could understand this though, as Meagan and Coop’s relationship isn’t really solid and at a sexual stage until the end of the story. But once we get there the scene is spicy hot and well written.

I found this to be an interesting story with a solid plotline and a huge cast of really vivid, fun and sexy characters. A godd conclusion to this trilogy.

It took 32 seconds to end his career.
But it only took 1 to change his life.

Thirty-two seconds. That’s how long it took for Delon Sanchez’s life to end. One minute he was the best bronc rider in the Panhandle and the next he was nothing. Knee shattered, future in question, all he can do is pull together the pieces…and wonder what cruel trick of fate has thrown him into the path of his ex, the oh-so-perfect Tori Patterson.

Tori’s come home after her husband’s death, intent on escaping the public eye. It’s just her luck that Delon limps into her physical therapy office, desperate for help. All hard-packed muscle and dark-eyed temptation, he’s never been anything but a bad idea. And yet, seeing him again, Tori can’t remember what made her choose foolish pride over love…or why, with this second, final chance to right old wrongs, the smartest choice would be to run from this gorgeous rodeo boy as fast as her boots can take her.

Enjoy an Excerpt:

The shop looked cleaner and classier than she remembered. The eaves and windows were trimmed with red, and a huge logo had been painted on the expanse of blank front wall—the silhouette of a bareback rider in red and black, with Sanchez Trucking, Inc. circled around it. Neatly pruned shrubs lined the sidewalk on either side of the door marked Office. Sheesh. Even a shop had better landscaping than her place.

“How do you get up to your apartment?” she asked.

“The stairs are around the side.”

She stepped out of the car and was engulfed in Delon’s signature cologne—grease and diesel exhaust. Even though she’d loved Willy, truly and deeply, one tiny corner of her heart had always twitched at that scent. She’d hated how it still affected her, but there it was, so all she could do was make damn sure her path didn’t cross Delon’s when he was competing at Cheyenne, and avoid truck stops whenever possible.

And if her brain kept hopscotching between the new Delon and Willy and the old Delon, she’d be the one falling off of barstools before long.

She hunched her shoulders against the chilly breeze and walked around to the side of the building. The staircase was metal, narrow and steep. No way would she let Delon go up those alone. She went back to find him maneuvering his leg out of the car. He hissed in pain when his toe caught on the doorframe. She stepped closer and offered a hand. His fingers were warm and strong as always, but the clasp of his palm against hers felt different.

The calluses were gone. Those hard ridges on the fingers and palm of his riding hand that had been such a raspy, delicious contrast to her most sensitive spots. The nape of her neck. The inside of her thigh. Her nipples. She remembered how he’d smiled when he realized what it did to her—a dangerous smile full of wicked promises.

She let go so abruptly he lost his balance and had to grab the open car door to keep from toppling backward.

“Oops,” she said. “Slipped.”

And fell face first into another hormonal bog. Damn. She really had to get a hold of herself, before she went totally bonkers and tried to get a hold of Delon instead. That would be bad. Because he was her patient—and he was her past. They were both, to paraphrase his words, fucked up. Two broken halves couldn’t make a functional whole. Could they?

“I can make it from here,” he said.

She stepped back, but fell in beside him as he limped around the side of the shop. “Those stairs are treacherous.”

“I doubt you were half tanked before. So rather than stand back and watch you roll ass over teakettle down a flight of stairs, I’ll just follow you on up.” His expression went mutinous, his bottom lip poking out, and she laughed outright. “Wow. I bet that’s exactly what Beni looks like when he doesn’t get his way.”

His scowl dissolved into a weary sigh. “It’s been a long day.”

“Tell me about it.” Beginning with her father’s divorce bomb, but she wasn’t thinking about that now.

Delon grasped the stair rail and stepped up with his good leg, then brought his sore leg level. Tori let him get two steps above her, then put her hand on the railing behind his, her upper body canted forward so she had leverage if he started to sway. Her position put his butt directly in her line of sight. Dear Lord, that was one nice butt. She yanked her gaze away, to a trio of trucks parked in a row alongside the shop, the chrome and polished paint of the tractors gleaming under the security lights.

A familiar fascination tugged at her sleeve. Big rigs had a sexy mystique, like modern day stagecoaches, the drivers perched high and proud, all that horsepower at their command. She’d had fantasies about Delon dragging her into one of those sleepers. Carrying her off to crisscross the country, just the two of them on an endless road trip, town after town of strangers who didn’t know or care who her father was. She gazed at the nearest black one, streamlined as a stealth fighter. Climb on in, it whispered. I’ll take you anywhere you want to go.

Her head rammed into Delon’s elbow as he stopped on the landing. When she stumbled, he grabbed the back of her coat and hauled her upright as easily as if she was Beni’s size.

“Good thing you came along to keep me safe,” he deadpanned, then raised his eyebrows. “Were you staring at my trucks?”

At first she thought he said butt, and her face went hot, before she realized he’d caught her checking out the semis. “They’re pretty.”

“Pretty.” He spit the word out in disgust. “Next thing, you’ll call them cute.”

She drew herself up, offended. “Cute is not in my vocabulary.”

“But you do have a thing for trucks.”

“I don’t—”

“It’s okay. Lots of girls do.” His smile was sly, his eyes gleaming with something wild and dangerous.

She suddenly realized they were face to face on the landing, their bodies touching, if you didn’t count the five layers of clothes between them. His hand was still on her shoulder and his fingers tightened fractionally, as if he would pull her even closer. Her heart sprouted legs and launched into a frantic gallop. Oh God. What if he kissed her? She wasn’t ready for that. Was she? If he leaned in and put his mouth on hers, would she shove him away, or devour him?

Normally I don’t read books out of order in a series, but I was pleased to find I could pick this one up and follow along fairly easily. I really enjoyed both Lane and Carey’s characters. I was very surprised with the male-pregnancy aspect of the story and the alluded to rape. While the act wasn’t given specific detail, Carey did explain to Lane how it was he came to be pregnant – and I feel these two things might turn off some readers.

I found the world fairly easy to follow along with and I was really pleased that there wasn’t a whole bunch of “Omega world specific” stuff that left me mystified. As a new reader to the series I was impressed and grateful that the author explained the various world/setting-differences as they came up in the story – so there was no info dumping which I’m not a fan of. I also really enjoyed how well the plot and sex were intertwined in the story. At no stage did I feel like one or the other were overshadowing the other, nor did it feel like a trade off – sex then plot then sex etc – they were very well meshed and so the story felt really well balanced and I found myself sinking into the short story and thoroughly enjoying it all.

With interesting characters, a really solid plot and some astonishingly hot sex, I found this to be a very well-rounded book that ticked a whole bunch of good boxes for me. While I can appreciate this certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, I found it hotly written and the world and plot were excellently handled by the author. I will definitely be looking up more stories in this series.

Everyone has those moments they’ve gone through that have galvanized them. Kids growing up, getting older, mistakes made…we learn to live with them or at least get past them. That’s a lot of what this book is about. There’s a wide mix in a family. Yes, it takes all types and the Tangle family has them in spades.

The writing flowed well and I didn’t want to put the book down. That said, I did look away many times and had to redirect my interest. Makes no sense? While I wanted to know more, I got a tad bored on occasion. There was so much angst, I had to step away. I liked the book, but I had a hard time connecting the entire time. It wasn’t a bad story…but maybe it wasn’t the right read for me right now. That doesn’t mean it won’t appeal to others. I’m sure it will.

Readers, like me, should find a bit of themselves in each sister. The tragedy does mark them. Grief, numbness, sadness… we’ve all been there. It was like reading about my friends and going through the whole summer together. I don’t regret it. There’s the sister with control issues, the one who wants to control nothing, and the damaged one. There’s the mother with more issues than can be counted and everyone trying to come together to deal.

If you like a book high on angst and characterization, then this is the book for you. You’ll laugh, cry and look at your own life a little differently.

Lately I’ve been discovering all these wonderful new to me authors, and Heather Burch is another one of them.

I really enjoyed reading this story. The main character Charity Baxter is someone who you both like and can relate to. She’s shaken by the death of her grandpa who along with her grandma played a huge part in her early life. The book starts almost at the point where she inherits her grandparent’s house and it’s there Ms. Burch does a wonderful job revealing bit by bit Charity’s childhood and her relationship with her estranged mother.

This story has everything, childhood dreams about fantasy and magic, the baggage we carry with us into adulthood, finding yourself, and stumbling upon a new love. And best of all, finding somewhere in your heart to forgive someone who hurt you in the past. I think Charity finds that it’s part of the process of growing up and it was great taking that journey with her as the story unfolded.

I also liked her love interest, Dalton, who’s got some hurt of his own. I felt like these two were made for one another.

If you love stories with a realistic setting, dialogue and theme, and a fan of books that focus on the meaning of family, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

Ayahuasca is a horror story based on the human mind. While the story starts off with a bang, the reader begins to see the inner workings of the minds of Damien and Paxton. Quite quickly the reader realizes that something is not right. These two young men come from a world of affluence and influence where money is limitless. This all leads to a college graduation party of epic proportions.

Stretching the limits of their own humanity, the two young boys begin a torturous journey towards adulthood. With little social regard for what makes us human, the boys manage to duck out of trouble but continue their dark ways. Even when the boys create the Firebox, the risk of getting caught was downplayed by the horrors that the boys learned that they could control.

Jonathan Huls writes a fascinating tale of lust, imperfection, psychosis and a wicked and wild drug called Ayahuasca. From the first encounter with the drug, visions and hallucinations of a talking jackalope haunt Paxton and warn him of a dangerous future. Flashbacks to the past show the reader just how deeply this psychosis and issues in both the lives of Damien and Paxton are woven.

Although Ayahuasca utilizes strong language, extremely graphic descriptions of violence and very graphic depictions of death, this is a fantastic of what happens in the minds of those who may have a predisposition to be mentally imbalanced and when that imbalance is fed directly with horrors and inhumanity-the result can be horrifying.

If you enjoy psychological thrillers and dark horror stories, I highly recommend Ayahuasca. This story will have you thinking twice about your own mental limits!

Upfront disclosure, I haven’t read the first book in this series. I love a series where each book can be read as a standalone while a common thread or reoccurring characters tie the series together. His To Punish has all the right elements to make it as a standalone. Readers new to the BDSM genre should be aware that it also has a variety of things that may not be what a first time reader of erotic romance is expecting. That being said this book and the plot showed the characters every facet, good, bad, everything.

The chemistry between Jeanette and Ty was hot and sizzling and the passion was brought out more with every chapter I read.

As second in command of the Cleaners, Ty is full on Dominant with a capital D. I love everything about the story but was a little surprised at how quickly Jeanette embraces becoming a submissive. The author may have felt rushed to get beyond that aspect of the relationship, the push/pull of a new submissive, to develop the rest of the plot and build on Ty and Jeanette’s HEA. The story doesn’t lag but moves quickly and kept my attention.

Overall, I truly enjoyed this book. It has love, family, and just the right amount of sizzling chemistry.

In college, he found the perfect lover, but he dumped him rather than risk tarnishing his image. When Finn shows up, he turns Bear’s world upside-down. But, can the Bad Teddy Bear finally accept his submissive side?

Bear considered sex to be a physical relief, nothing more nothing less. Determined to keep his own rules about never going back for seconds, Bear is determined to forget Finn. Only it’s not that easy and soon Bear finds himself once more intimately involved with Finn.

I found this to be a fun, sexy short story. I really enjoyed how Bear and Finn weren’t the stereotypical twink and alpha male, despite their physical appearances. The author did a great job to my mind of making both men interesting and strong characters, and still surprising. They felt fresh and different to me. While I admit Bear is far from a romantic character, and seemed determined to fight his attraction to Finn against all odds, the chemistry between the two men was undeniable.

Readers looking for a sweeter or more emotional style of romance might be left wanting – this is a far more testosterone-fueled and edgier style of story to my mind. Personally, I enjoyed the slow build up of the story. It made me really feel and appreciate the chemistry and yearning both Bear and Finn had for each other. While I could understand if some readers find this pace a little slow – in such a short story the fact the climax really isn’t reached until the last few pages is a lot more noticeable than in a longer-length story – I didn’t mind it. I found myself far more satisfied when Bear and Finn finally came together after seeing firsthand exactly how badly they really longed for each other and after watching Bear fight his attraction to Finn so very hard.

The sex is hot, very slightly kinky (handcuffs and plenty of nipple and ass play) and steamily written. I loved the happy ending and found this a deliciously spicy, short read. Readers looking for hot sex and two uncompromising, stubborn and manly men – with very little romance or softening of the story line – should find this as delicious a read as I did.
