Wanting variety in your sexual lust? Then come to Lindsey Park Manor.

A weekend of BDSM activities for beginners. That was what James Shaw had booked at Lindsey Park Manor. He was now anxious about telling his wife, Caroline. In the past, they had tried out various implements at home, and were keen to take it further—even considering joining a ‘swingers’ site—but it was quite daunting doing anything with others! And then a shock awaits them on arrival in the form of James’ best friend.

As they progress through the various events—cropping in the stables, fellatio in the ballroom, and an unusual fox hunt—they have to deal with animosity, jealousy and the dropping of inhibitions, as all of them grow in their knowledge of a lifestyle which is exciting, yet challenging.

Just as the dynamics of their threesome change considerably, a further surprise awaits them at the end of the weekend.

James and Caroline’s marriage is definitely stable enough to include a bit of exploring and boy do they explore on their weekend retreat. The ultimate question is: where Mark will fit in, if at all.

I really liked James and Caroline from the beginning. It is clear to me they are both looking to spice things up and make their relationship stronger. They clearly care and love deeply for one another. Another aspect of these characters I appreciated was their vulnerability at times. Caroline in not knowing how she feels about the lifestyle and the things James wants to potentially explore. James who seems always the rock in the relationship, yet experiencing his own insecurities as they explore more about themselves both as individuals and as a couple. It make them more realistic and believable.

Mark is a character I did not learn too much about throughout the process. He clearly was a caring man who just wanted to find his place. I like that he is attracted to Caroline and respects his friend to allow him to set the pace and is just thankful for any involvement he is allowed. He is definitely someone I would have liked to have gotten to know a bit more.

The BDSM element in the story is something I appreciated. For the most part it was fairly accurate. It is a topic I am very familiar with and I only noticed one or two inconsistencies. For example, the author used the world flog in one scene when it was really a spanking not a flogging. Additionally, I think how the roles in the relationship were determined I would have like to have seen more of. For example it is clear by the end of the story Mark is more of a switch than a Dominant. It would have been interesting to see how he came to this conclusion. These are really minor things, and overall the average reader would probably no pick up on them. Compared too many other stories on BDSM this one is accurate as to the emotional development/discovery which I appreciate. It shows how important the decision is and that it is as much an emotional growth as it is a kink one.

I would certainly recommend this story to others, and I actually plan on doing so. Plus it has some interesting plot twists that really leave you wanting more in the end.

Two subsequent murders make this impossible, and Hardesty embarks on a mission to find the identity of the killer.

If the police can’t solve these murders, how will Dick be able to piece everything together?

The pacing was strong and steady from the first chapter to the last one. It was difficult to find a decent place to stop reading when I needed to do other things because every scene was plotted out so well. No sooner would one question be answered than another one would take its place. I simultaneously didn’t want this story to end and couldn’t wait to find out how the author was going to tie everything together!

The cast was quite large. It would have been really helpful to have a list of who all of the new people were and how they were connected to this case. The characters from the previous books in this series were easy to remember because I’ve read all of them, but I occasionally mixed up the ones who were brand new in this universe. There simply weren’t quite enough details about their lives to remember who was who in a few cases. This is my only criticism of an otherwise very well done storyline.

One of the things I enjoy the most about Mr. Grey’s books is how closely he expects his audience to pay attention to what is going on in them. None of the Dick Hardesty mysteries that I’ve read so far have been easy to figure out. The clues were there, but I definitely had to put some work into them in order to fit everything together properly. I appreciate that in this genre.

While this plot does technically work as a standalone novel, I do recommend checking out The Butcher’s Son, The Ninth Man, and The Bar Watcher first in order to get to know the recurring characters and their backstories. I would have been a little confused by the first few scenes if I wasn’t already familiar with this series.

The Hired Man kept me guessing until the end. It’s a good choice for anyone who enjoys historical mysteries as much as I do.

Ivy’s neighbors have a secret. They aren’t human. But Ivy has a secret, too. She knows. As long as everyone keeps quiet, she’s happy working as a P.I. by day and chillaxing with her BFF Florian, a vampire, by night. When a routine pickup drops her in the middle of a murder, her two worlds collide. While Florian knows how to throw a punch, deep down he’s a softie. His idea of scary? Running out of hair product. It’s time Ivy faced facts. Even with a vampire on stand-by, one gal can only kick so many asses.

For help, she must put her faith in others. A human, who might just be the one. A demon, who will, for a price, open the doors to her heritage. And a werewolf, who wants to protect her from herself.

Torn between these men, Ivy must tread carefully, because one wants her heart, one wants her body, and one wants her dead.

Ivy is a private investigator with unusual neighbors, but then she’s not exactly normal herself. Her mother was a leanan sidhe and her father was a satyr. Her maternal grandfather was a brather demon also known as the Guardians. At the beginning of the book Ivy knows none of this but she has had her brush with the Fae when Lathan, kindlord of the demons, kidnaps her and tries to make her his slave. Two years later she escapes from Alethia and returns to the normal (well sort of normal) world where Ivy finds she can see auras which tell her the nature of the person.

Which brings us to the strange neighbors. A family of vampires, and a pack of wolves. Lucky for her they’re friendly. Now all she has to do is fight off Lathan’s demons who are trying to drag her back to the Alethia, find her boss and his daughter, and fight off the urge to make love to every man she sees.

I enjoyed this book from the paranormal scenes to the hot sexy bits. I found this to be one of those books I couldn’t put down. It had just the right level of hotness, mixed with a little bit of mystery and a good dose of comedy. Add to this the book was well written and edited and I believe it is a winner. From the title it looks like there’s more to come.

Lessons I learned from Captain Eri

When I started writing The Ryo Myths, I had no idea that Captain Eri would become the character I would aspire to be. The Ryo Myths takes place in space. There are aliens, gods with unlimited powers, people with super human strength, and then there is Captain Eri. She’s a ringer, a human with wings, but her wings are damaged, and she can’t fly. Out of all of the characters in The Ryo Myths, Captain Eri is technically the one with the greatest disadvantage. She is the most human of everyone.

Which is why I like her. She can’t rely on magic or godly powers to get herself out of the mess she’s in. On top of that, she’s suffered terribly at the hands of someone she once loved. In other circles she’d be called a victim, but I didn’t want her to be that. I wanted her to be a survivor.

Right now, ‘strong female characters’ are in – the Katniss Everdeen. Don’t get me wrong, I love The Hunger Games, but what people misconstrue from Katniss is that in order to be a ‘strong female’ one has to be constantly kicking physical ass. This is great, and I have no problem reading and watching things about women who are just out there dominating (River Tam, anyone?), but being a strong woman doesn’t mean simply laying waste to the competitors. It means dealing with the emotional baggage.

Captain Eri has moments where she breaks down. Things get messy. She has the opportunity to make some really bad decisions which one wouldn’t blame her for making, but instead of collapsing into hysterics or puffing her chest out and tough guying her way through an emotional battle field, she slows down and allows herself to fail.

And I love that. Captain Eri fails, and from those failures, she succeeds. She’s not perfect. She’s not impervious to tears. She’s not afraid to f*#! people up when they need it. She takes in the wreck that is her life and pulls herself back to her feet. She falls at times, but she never gives up, and I can only hope that when I need that kind of strength in my own life, I can do as well as Captain Eri.

Filion felt safe in his role as a Dream Searcher. He was paid to venture into other’s dreams and exert influence over individuals whom he would never meet in the flesh.

But that was until he received The Summoning. Filion has been called to track down and protect Ryo, the last of the Chozen. She is the only hope of preventing a tide of evil driven by the Afortiori and the prospect of universal slavery if they aren’t stopped.

Time is ticking and Filion has no idea of how to find Ryo let alone how to protect her, yet destinies of planets rest in her hands. Enlisting the help of a rag-tag band of mercenaries, Filion will set out to search the wastes for Ryo. Together they will confront an evil whose power they just might have fatally underestimated.

I was a natural flier, I could take a punch, and I was smarter than most. Within five years I was a full-fledged pilot. On my last assignment, I was Master Pilot Eri Everfar, commanding pilot of a class B Federal war ship, the Seeker, and that’s where I met him, Drakier Lu…

Filion and his new friends have escaped Bok and are stuck in an asteroid field that isn’t supposed to exist. They’ve almost run out of fuel, their water supply is seriously depleted, all of their food has been destroyed, and the girl they’d just risked everything to save, Ryo, is dead.

Captain Eri’s former lover, Drakier Lu, has been promoted to Master Commander of the entire Federal Fleet, and his assignment is to find and capture the Dark Horse. Captain Eri has been identified as a Tiori, and she and her associates have just become the Federation’s most wanted. Things aren’t what they seem though, and the line between good and evil blurs as the players’ true motivations come to light.

Filion and the crew return, traveling the galaxy and dodging the Federation and the Tioris, all the while searching for a rogue planet that may or may not be harboring the one person who can save them all…

When I was on Lamu, I inhaled an Afortiori’s vileness. That blackness will be what allows me to win. I will use their own evil against them. Because of this I am tainted. I am but a degree different from what I fight, but in that degree, hangs the balance between universal slavery and Free Will.

Having fled from Lamu only moments before its destruction, Filion and his friends find themselves hiding in the shadows as the Federation and the Afortiori mobilize against their worst enemy, The Etulosba and its crew. The Etulosba, Ryo, plans for her final battle. She was engineered to fight for Free Will, but to win that war, she will have to become what no Chozen was meant to be – an Afortiori. Caught in Ryo’s wake, Captain Eri is torn between leading her crew and confronting Drakier Lu, her former lover and torturer. Will she be able to overcome what he did to her, or will she fail, thereby becoming what he made her and letting down Ryo, her crew, and ultimately, the universe? Filion and the crew return in the final installment of The Ryo Myths. Join them as they begin a journey that not all of them will survive.

Enjoy an excerpt from The Degrees of Destiny:

Initially, she’d thought the energy transfer had been temporary. Then she’d tortured Teeive instead of killing him, and now she realized the true cost of what she’d done. Some of his energy lived on inside of her. She hadn’t foreseen that. Inhaling Teeive’s energy had been like filling a suitcase with sand. She’d dumped out most of the sand, but grains of it remained, and they were expanding. She could feel the cold, calculating, psychopathic tendrils of Afortiori vile spreading and threatening to overtake her body. It wasn’t a battle she was sure she could win, but it might be what won her the war.

“I held that evil inside of me,” Ryo continued. “It powered me. I became high on its force. Then it left but not all of it. Some of it still lives within me.” She stood and faced Wiq. “I cannot fight this war without it.” She stood and faced Wiq. “I cannot fight this war without it. That blackness will be what allows me to win. I will use their own evil against them. Because of this I am tainted. I am but a degree different from what I fight, but in that degree, hangs the balance between universal slavery and Free Will. You and I, we have fought over Free Will, we have fought for Free Will, but we have never had Free Will. Captain Eri must exercise her Free Will because to me, she is everything that those words mean. If she does that, I can stay on the side of the right. I can fight this blackness and use it to save her. If she denies it though, or if she dies…”

Ryo looked at her hands. They flashed and became translucent. Wiq could see Ryo’s veins. As Wiq watched, a shadow spread through Ryo’s blood, darkening it to black.

“This vileness inside of me is not static. It pushes. It grows. I fight it, but I’m fighting on all fronts. She is my hope. She is my faith. She is what keeps this blackness at bay. She must not fail, or we all die.”

After six years working his ranch and raising his boys, widower Mack Tucker is staring down the barrel of another long, lonely winter. Until his grown-up sons decide it’s time for him to move on. Burned by her ex, Karen isn’t interested in diving into another marriage, but she wouldn’t mind dipping her toes back in the dating waters. But this time, things will be different. What could be more trustworthy and honest than a strong, silent cowboy?

Their first date gets steamier than either of them intended, and Mack fears it may be too much, too soon for him. Torn between the past and the present, Mack has to cowboy up or lose the possibility of a future with the woman who makes his broken heart beat again.

Mack Tucker still missed his wife, Sue. Taken from him by cancer, Mack’s three boys are insisting that six years of grieving is more than enough. Mack needs to get back into the dating game, and an online website is perfect for that. A few phone calls later and Mack finds himself driving three hours in the dead of winter to meet Karen Thompson in Billings, Montana. When he see’s Karen, he knows he’s in trouble. With a rose in her hair and a barely-there red dress, Karen might be a divorced florist, but Mack instantly knows what she really is – trouble for his heart.

I really loved Mack’s character. Forty-six and normally in control, Mack is a man who knows himself. But he’s let his love-life wither into nothing after the devastating loss of his wife. Karen is determined to feel more like herself again. After being cheated on and all but ignored by her ex, she’s ready to live, to feel and experience passion and happiness. I was delighted how honest Mack and Karen were with each other – from their initial meeting onwards. Karen is very up front about how she’s not looking to marry again, but just to connect, to be treated well and enjoy companionship. And Mack also admits now his sons are grown and gone he can go a week in winter without speaking face to face with another human being it can be very lonely. He’s finally ready himself for some companionship as well. I felt from the beginning both Mack and Karen were in a similar space and knew they’d easily be able to give what the other wants while still being true to themselves.

The sex is hot and wonderful. I love how both Karen and Mack really got into it – talking a lot and sharing their wants and needs with each other. While the sex is descriptive and prolific, I don’t feel there’s anything that could be offensive or too envelope-pushing for most romance readers. It is graphic though, so more traditional readers mightn’t find this as well-written as I did. I was also impressed how the author used the intimacy of Karen and Mack coming together to really deepen both their connection and our understanding of their characters. It wasn’t just scene after scene of descriptive sex, but a lot of talking, discussion and sharing of their thoughts and bodies. I felt this really helped me appreciate and understand them both better.

I also really enjoyed how even after their scorching first date, both Karen and Mack needed some time apart – Mack in particular. They both have baggage, and their own issues to work through, and instead of glossing over them, or using their pasts to create conflict between them, Mack needed to sort through his emotions and expectations. I was delighted by how the author wrote this – walking that fine line between not dwelling or sulking, but also still taking the time needed to go over the issues and sort them out. I felt this really showed the strength of Mack’s character and I was impressed that Karen didn’t hassle him or become clingy as so many heroines tend to in this situation.

Overall I found this a well rounded story with engrossing, vivid characters and plenty of personal history and baggage. Add in some smoking hot sex and a wonderful connection and chemistry between the main characters and this is a cowboy story I feel is sure to appeal to many readers. Recommended.

While vacationing, Charlotte has a chance encounter with a celebrity famous for his lead roles in romantic comedies. Unfortunately for Charlotte, lighthearted banter develops into tabloid fodder. With her career, friendships, and new found romance all impacted, Charlotte sets about dealing with the fallout of her fifteen minutes of fame.

What would you say to the celebrity you admire most?

Charlotte’s dream of meeting her Des Bannerman has finally come true. Despite some initial nerves, I must say that I think Charlotte handled herself pretty well when she finally came face to face with Des. While there certainly weren’t any romantic fireworks, Charlotte and Des have several pleasant and funny exchanges that had me smiling. When Charlotte is slapped with a restraining order, I was completely confused. I went over each encounter Charlotte had with Des, and I couldn’t figure out what went wrong. To me, it seemed that Charlotte and Des were the victim of some unusual and unfortunate circumstances that the media blew completely out of proportion. I wondered if Des was really just that mean, or if perhaps somehow Des’ girlfriend was behind the legal action. I eagerly dove into the pages searching for the answer.

The first part of the book that covers Charlotte’s adventures in France with her friends is very entertaining and fast paced. However, I must admit that I had a hard time getting in to the middle section of the story. When Charlotte goes back home to New York, she tries to resume her normal life. Unfortunately the fiasco with Des keeps coming up. On top of it all, Charlotte’s boss dumps a ton of work on her, which keeps her working practically nonstop. Despite her intense work schedule, Charlotte and her friends still manage to find time for fun. Their favorite past times seem to be shopping and drinking alcohol. In fact, that seems to be about all Charlotte does in her free time. While I have nothing against a good, strong drink, Charlotte and her friends take it to another level. My head hurt just reading about the amount of alcohol they consumed and then still had to drag themselves out of bed the next morning to go to work. The cycle of working and getting drunk was repetitive and definitely struck me as extraneous. I was left wishing that the focus would return to the problem of the restraining order.

Charlotte’s relationship with Liam is interesting and definitely the best thing about the middle part of this tale. Charlotte and Liam have a good chemistry, and I give them bonus points for making a long distance relationship work. Liam is sweet and extremely understanding about Charlotte’s situation with Des. I like the fact that he encourages her to be proactive about the situation so that she can move on with her life. While the physical part of their relationship is definitely a huge part of the story, I like that Ms. Kennedy got Charlotte and Liam out of the bedroom occasionally so they could go on some fun dates where they could really get to know each other.

Overall, I liked Charlotte’s Restrained. I found the truth behind the restraining order very surprising, and Charlotte and her friends are certainly a colorful bunch. I recommend Charlotte’s Restrained to anyone looking for a fun, contemporary romance.

Summer is a librarian who’s a whiz at research. Now she’s ready to try out the sex toys and sexual positions she’s researched. The woman is tying Nikolai in sensual knots and driving him crazy—in and out of bed. But he’s enjoying the journey, and suddenly he’s thinking about making his Summer babysitting assignment a full time commitment—if only he can persuade her to see things his way.

It’s said that if you take the sex out of a book and you still have a good story then it’s well written. Add the sex back in and the story potentially becomes even better, depending on how those scenes are delivered. Ms. Munro presents readers with a sure pleaser on every level because this novel rocks with the sex or without – the romantic suspense in Innocent Next Door is gripping and intense but when Nikolai and Summer finally succumb to their passions it’s as hot and spicy as an erotic reader could wish. I really enjoyed myself and loved the whole concept behind their romance.

What stood out for me besides the well written protagonists, excellent descriptions of environment and the setting of the stage for the conflict was how Ms. Munro addressed the violence and threats that Summer and Nikolai had to face. The hero and his buddies, as well as Summer’s two brothers, are military, SAS soldiers. That stands for Special Air Service; I had to look it up. In this book, there were no shootings or guns tipping the scales one way or the other. After reading about those soldiers, it’s completely believable to me that Nikolai and the rest are lethal weapons themselves and they don’t need hardware to take the bad guys down. I was very impressed with the SAS I read about in real life and I completely agree with Ms. Munro’s choice to highlight how perfect these men are as heroes. They are on par with the US’s Navy SEALS. After meeting Jake and Louie, Josh and Dillon, I can’t wait to read more in the world of the Military Men series the author has created. After seeing them in action in Innocent Next Door I’m honestly fascinated and eager for more.

That being said, the heroine, Summer, might be young but she’s not entirely innocent. She has a protective family that trained her in the basics, and she takes self-defense classes, but it’s her way with books that charmed me. I liked her sass, her confidence and her willingness to own her own actions, even when she messes up, and boy, does she ever. Her decision making process is influenced by her youth but another admirable aspect is her determination to take responsibility when it needs doing, she just has a tendency to not wait for ‘expert opinions’. She wants to stand on her own two feet, and that’s a commendable trait, but not when she gets in over her head, which she does. That is her role in the conflict and she navigates it well because she has help, eventually.

Nikolai is a yummy hero. Even injured, he’s a take charge kind of guy with a noble heart. That nobility is put to the test when in the presence of a tantalizing and nubile Summer as she wreaks havoc with all his good intentions. That man/woman conflict makes for some excellent reading and many opportunities for laughter and giggles. Until, it turns sultry and giggles turn to moans. That is good too.

I think many readers will find this book totally and completely perfect but my rating is a result of my personal preference on not liking dream sequences that give extremely detailed descriptions of a sexual encounter that isn’t real. The fireworks between Summer and Nikolai are flammable and intriguing enough that I prefer to read about things when they really happen to them. On the upside, it was actually short and the author does handle it well, I just don’t like them.

What I did like were the lighthearted moments. I usually don’t have a reason to laugh about condoms in a romance story but I sure giggled a lot in Innocent Next Door because of what Summer says and does regarding them. Poor Nikolai. And there I go, grinning again. There’s a great sense of humor woven in this tale too and it’s showcased through dialogue and actions. It was very entertaining.

Innocent Next Door has to be one of the best examples of Ms. Munro’s talent. It has everything an erotic romantic suspense reader could want. The plot is exciting, the characters are awesome and all I wanted at the end of the book was more. I enthusiastically recommend Innocent Next Door to all readers who like action, excitement, a well-developed romance and a happy ever after that leaves a booklover satisfied. This is a winner.

‘I was hoping we could have our business chat.’

’Oh, business.’ Gem fiddled with her large hoop earrings. Beneath her fleece-lined jacket she wore a thick white V-necked T-shirt and she’d been warm enough for the winter cold, but now she felt hot—and a little bothered.

‘I was wondering—what your position is,’ Josh said. ‘And if you needed help in some way. I mean—are you in a position to make the purchase?’

‘Yes.’

‘Are you sure?’

No, but she wasn’t going to let Josh know that. ‘I wouldn’t mind a week or two to gets things finalised.’

‘No problem. And what about the flat above? Are you intending to live in it?’

‘Of course. Where else would I live?’

‘I’ve got a place in mind. A five minute walk out of town.’

‘What place?’ she asked, frowning.

He shook his head. ‘Maybe later. Let’s stick to the shop for the moment.’

‘Actually,’ she said, ‘I am a little busy. Can we have this chat tomorrow?’

Josh looked up at the wall art.

Gem had created history with her mural of the town, but she couldn’t tell from Josh’s expression what he was thinking.

‘It’s not graffiti,’ she said. ‘Don’t utter that word unless you top it with “art”.’

‘I wasn’t about to say anything except … it’s stunning. It’s got flair. And charm.’ He looked her up and down then grinned. ‘Bit like you. When you’re not covering up whatever it is that’s bothering you with your temper.’

Getting back in the saddle has never felt so good…

What was the partner’s reaction? How did the balloon work? In comparison to modern balloons this one was relatively small. Brett Harrison tried marriage once and isn’t anxious for another round. So when his meddling twin sister sets him up on a dating site, he seriously considers strangling her and cancelling. Luckily for him, he’s too much of a gentleman to act on those impulses, and when he meets Melly Walker, he wonders if it’s time to get back in the saddle.

Melly knows exactly where her previous marriage went wrong. She was dazzled by her ex’s big-city charm and strayed too far from her roots. This time, she’s going with tried and true–a dyed-in-the-wool cowboy. Her first few dates net her more duds than studs, but when she meets Brett, she’s ready to get more than just her feet wet.

The principles of trust and compromise are great in theory, but when Melly discovers Brett has his eye on more than just her curves, she questions her judgment and his motives. Is Brett ready to drop his dreams for something as unreliable as love?

Brett Harrison’s pregnant twin sister has signed him up on a dating site, without his knowledge. Equal parts horrified and annoyed, Brett desperately wants to take the profile down, but his first date has already been arranged. Brett can’t believe he’s been wrestled into a coffee-date, but when he starts to read what Melly had sent “him” he has to be honest, he can’t let this woman down. Resigned, Brett decides he can meet Melly, have a cup of coffee and they could both go their separate ways afterwards. Then he could take down his profile and life could revert to normal. Right?

This is a fun, lighthearted story about a previously-burned cowboy and a klutzy, shy English teacher. I really enjoyed the reality of Melly’s previous dates – being stood up, not connecting with the men. I also was completely sympathetic with the fact Melly had signed up hoping that “Fun Melly” would come back from wherever she was hiding and was disappointed with how so far she wasn’t in sight. I could really empathize with just how hard online dating can be at times. I also enjoyed Brett’s character. While initially he seemed more the cookie-cutter kind of cowboy, the author did a great job of infusing his character with small traits that made him stand out more – like holding Melly’s seat out for her, or questioning her on why she joined up to the online dating sight. This helped me overall really connect well with both characters and had me liking them from an early stage in the story.

There was a twist in the plot about half way through, that I found fresh and different. My only disappointment from the story was that much of the second half of the book revolved around this twist – a business purchase of Brett’s – and complications arising from that. I couldn’t help but feel the growth of Brett and Melly’s relationship took a bit of a back seat for much of the latter half of the book. Added to that, the conflict, hurt feelings and mis-communications really had me feeling that up until the last two chapters or so that Brett and Melly’s relationship hadn’t progressed much at all. I didn’t feel they trusted each other very much emotionally and they really seemed to have a few major differences still blocking their way. So their reconciliation at the end felt quite rushed. I felt, when told “they both fell in love”, the author was needing me to take it on faith that their feelings had deepened and grown as time progressed, as this deepening of emotion wasn’t shown but instead skimmed over. A part of me wonders if the author was caught out on a word-limit or something like that, and the plot (which I did find interesting and well written) had taken over much of the growth of the relationship between Brett and Melly. For a romance story I felt this rush at the end really detracted from my enjoyment of the story as a whole, and I was quite saddened by it.

Overall, though, this is a fun and lovely book. I greatly enjoyed Brett and Melly’s characters and found them to be not only relatable but also realistic with “normal” flaws – not perfect but real. I also really loved how there was a proper plot, not just a hastily thrown in conflict or silly miscommunication. The plot added to the story, but also helped show more of both Melly and Brett’s character, dreams and desires. While I found the ending a bit rushed and I, personally, would have loved to see more of the growing depth to their relationship, this is a solid, well written and emotional read that left me feeling happy and good. A great new author to me, and one I will happily look for again.
