Kitrina Dragonheart is a hunted woman, but the last thing the savvy rogue wants is to partner in a quest with the arrogant but oh-so-sexy prince who deflowered her. But when the threat extends to her legacy and her loved ones, she has no choice but to accept his skills as an extraordinary warrior. Now if she can just get past the distraction of his touch.

Barbarian Zander Hammerstrike vowed to protect Kit with his life. But who’s going to protect Zander from the sensually sassy human? She’s playing havoc on his sanity—as well as his libido—and she’s on the verge of stealing his heart…again. He can’t let that happen. As future ruler of Alaria, Zander must take a barbarian wife to keep the bloodline pure, and Kit being human…

Destined from birth to follow different paths, their love seems impossible, but does the Dragon Heart Opal have other plans in store for the pair?

My favorite book in the series so far, Tamed By the Fire was hot, fun, and exciting. And the gnomes are slowly starting to grow on me.
This online drug site levitra ordering has been approved by Food and Drug Administration and hence it has been permitted selling throughout the world. Kit’s been crushing on Zander for as long as she can remember, and she’s chosen him for the one to take her virginity during her deflowering ceremony. While she can’t see into his mind, we can, and we know the idea of being with her is more than tempting. Unfortunately, he’s heir to the throne and there are very strict guidelines on who he must marry, so he doesn’t want to act on his feelings, and says some unflattering things about her to make it seem he’s less interested than he is. Still, after much time and strong encouragement by her parents, he agrees to her deflowering.

It makes for a very hot scene as he’s determined to make sure she enjoys her first time. Ms. Mansfield is remarkably skilled in her writing of these scenes… they’re descriptive, sexy, and stimulating, but not coarse. Exactly the type of sex scene I appreciate most.

There’s a misunderstanding immediately following, and it causes years to pass before Zander and Kit meet again. I admit to being a bit frustrated by it — If Kit had simply asked one question of Zander, it wouldn’t have been the mess it was. Still, she was very young and immature, so it wasn’t completely outside of her nature to behave the way she did.

And the gnomes … we can’t have a review without mentioning them. I think the gnomes were less annoying to me this book because they were integral to much of the plot, whereas they’ve typically felt more like comic relief and not much else in the other books. You get their disgusting sense of humor here, but they do more than entertain.

When Zander and Kit meet again, Zander is sworn to protect her when it’s discovered her life is in danger. This, of course, forces them to spend time together and the spark is still humming between them.

We see characters from previous books as well, but I think this story stands alone fine.

There’s plenty of fantasy action here, as well as many typical fantasy characters that one expects including elves and dragons and more. There’s magic and mischief and really it’s just a book that succeeds famously in entertaining the reader. It seems the author just keeps getting better with each book.

If you’re a fan of fantasy, but want plenty of heat with your story, I recommend grabbing a copy of Tamed By the Fire, and probably the three books before this one. I think you’ll be glad you did.

It’s Not Easy Being Good…

Vivacious Vivienne Taylor has finally won her family’s approval by getting engaged to the wealthy and upright John Vandergrift. But when threatened by a vicious blackmail scheme, it is to her childhood friend that Vivienne turns; the deliciously wicked Viscount Dashiell.

Lord Dashiell promised himself long ago that his friendship with Vivienne would be the one relationship with a woman that he wouldn’t ruin. He agrees to help her just to keep the little hothead safe, but soon finds that Vivienne has grown up to be very, very dangerous to all of Dash’s best intentions.

Being good can be so hard when being wicked comes naturally.

Ms. Vivienne Taylor is not prim and proper as other young ladies of the ton are. Though she’s just a craftsmen daughter she still strives to marry someone with wealth and be the perfect wife. With the help of her aunt, all she wants is to secure a good marriage and help her father with his troubles. When the perfect man purposes, Vivienne and her aunt are elated. Then Vivienne’s secret childhood friend and neighbor returns from his travels abroad and threatens her good girl behavior.

Lord Dashiell is a rake of the highest degree! A jet setter of his time, he never stays in one place too long and uses his love of history as an escape for anything important. Until little Vivienne reenters his life as a full grown, beautiful woman in need of his help. The two then become entangled in a mystery that is both devastating and hilarious at times. All the while Vivienne is promising to be perfect and Lord Dashiell is tempting her to misbehave. When they both give in their lust ignites the page and you just want more.

I have to applaud Susanna Ives for her work in Wicked Little Secrets. I have never, ever laughed so hard or swooned so much while reading a historical romance. The secondary characters were amazing additions to this tale of love and betrayal and secrets and lies. Vivienne was a lovely change of pace from the typical women we sometimes read about because she was simply wild in her thoughts and feelings. And while Lord Dashiell was a typical rake, his character was diverse enough to keep me locked in.

I read this book in one sitting because I simply couldn’t put it down. The mystery that Ms. Ives weaves was fantastic and had me guessing until the very end. To be able to meld the vivid characters and complex scheme as this author did earned her a Best Book in my eyes. If you love historical romances, then this book is a must!

In 1888 London, an aspiring journalist will do almost anything to get a story on the front page of her father’s male dominated newspaper. Long grown tired of revamping redundant weekly missives regarding high-society fashion and gardening tips, Samantha Winston yearns for the day when she might prove it doesn’t take a pair of over-inflated bollocks to merit the coveted headline…even if it means going undercover to unearth the identity of the most sadistic killer to ever darken Whitechapel’s fog-laden alleys. Yet when Samantha intersects the path of Adam Hawkins, a meddlesome, fork-tongued, disarmingly attractive American seemingly hell-bent on ending the elusive killer’s reign of blood and terror, she finds herself no longer the huntress, but the hunted…

The killer is much closer to Samantha than she realizes.

Samantha is a very modern woman living in a place and time when women didn’t have the same rights as men. Samantha is extremely outspoken and brash at times, and she never misses an opportunity to voice her opinions on equal rights. Consequently, she is frequently at odds with her family. I completely understand Samantha’s outrage at the double standards of the day. However, I think that her arguments would be more effective if she varied her approach occasionally. Whenever the subject of women’s rights comes up, Samantha’s temper gets away from her and she ends in heated arguments. She does this so often that her family has taken to writing her tirades off as just another one of her fits. I must admit that her attitude even began to get on my nerves and I agreed with many of her ideas!

Even though Samantha’s attitude is somewhat abbrasive, I still think she is a likable character who is brave and dedicated to her writing. Since her father won’t give her the space in the paper that she deserves, Samantha feels she has no other choice than to go undercover and discover the identity of the killer stalking Whitechapel. Little does she know that the killer is practically right under her nose. I think Samantha’s plan to catch the murderer is a very foolish one. She has absolutely no experience with undercover work and even less experience in chasing murderers. As I read, I kept wondering what she would do if she actually did come across Jack the Ripper. However, I will admit that Samantha did the best she could with the resources she had, but it quickly becomes clear that Samantha is in way over her head.

Adam and Samantha have excellent chemistry from the moment they meet. Ms. Ashton paces their relationship perfectly. I enjoyed watching Samantha and Adam dance around their attraction for each other. It made the moment when they finally gave in to their feelings even sweeter. Samantha and Adam are both way to stubborn for their own good. However, I have a feeling that they’ll be an excellent couple.

I figured out who Jack the Ripper was fairly easily. In fact, as I read, I became increasingly frustrated when no one else seemed to be able to figure it out. Adam insisted on suspecting a certain character when there was absolutely no proof. There are plenty of hints concerning Jack the Ripper’s true identity, but Adam kept ignoring them until it was nearly too late. Adam is a smart man and really should have figured the mystery out much sooner. Despite my frustrations, I really like the way the story ended. Ms. Ashton found a clever and completely plausible way to explain the reason why Jack the Ripper’s identity remains a mystery.

Whitechapel Quill is a certainly a good read. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys dark mysteries, historical romance, and a heroine with attitude to spare.

This is a wonderfully imaginative novel with some really fantastic characters. Douglas is a fine journeyman Pyromancer, eager to prove himself. I was immediately caught up in the story and I enjoyed the excitement as well as the humor. When it appears that Douglas has been captured by the evil coven, his fiancée, Myrn Manstar, an apprentice Aquamancer, sets out to help him. There is also a host of other wonderful supporting characters, such as Douglas’s familiar, a smart sea otter named Marbleheart. Another of my favorites is the Blue Teakettle, who always knows when a visitor will be arriving, and who sends meals magically all the way from Wizards’ High.

This is the second novel in the ‘Mancer Series, but it can be enjoyed all by itself. The prologue has a summary of the first novel so that the reader is fully caught up right from the start. I love the variety of characters which populate this novel. Of course there are wizards, faeries, dwarfs, sprites, and sea creatures. But there are also razors which strop themselves and then shave the wizard after the shaving brush has jumped “gleefully into Mug and whipped up a froth of fragrant lather.”

Douglas’s travels and adventures are exciting, filled with action, and Douglas certainly has to think fast and act with courage and daring if he is going to save Old Kingdom from the havoc and destruction which the Coven of Black Witches is wrecking. If he doesn’t stop them, they will move out into the rest of the world in their quest to gain unlimited power.

Lovers of fantasy, young and old alike, will truly enjoy this captivating novel.

This series focuses on MMA fighters and their personal lives. This goes beyond the current events affecting their lives and their fighting. These stories encompass their entire lives and the reasons why they have ended on the path to fighting and controlling their anger.

This particular book focuses on Wyatt and Tabitha, who have been married for thirteen years, yet lived as husband and wife for only 4 days. Kele Moon is an established author with a unique and brilliant writing style. She has a way to describe emotions that is heartfelt. The characters in this series are all connected either by blood, love, or simply because they live in a small town where everyone is aware of their neighbors’ plight. This is the main reason why you will feel deeply connected to these characters as you read their stories. The characters are like a stack of dominos that have been equally spaced from each other, yet close enough to be affected … if you push one, all the others are disturbed.

I wholeheartedly recommend this series as an entertaining and moving set of books you will not soon forget.

What’s a body to do when they get bored? For Marbleheart, a sea otter who is the familiar of Douglas Brightglade, a Pyromancer, the answer is to go questing with a fairy prince. Prince Ben Flowerbender has run away from home, because, as he tells Marbleheart, “It’s full time I undertook a Quest to Prove Myself Worthy. Come of Age!” And soon the two of them are off on an adventurous quest.

This is an exciting, fast-paced story filled with myriad challenges for both Marbleheart and Ben. They are shipwrecked and nearly eaten by alligators, before meeting with horrendous hippos. But they both have magical powers and kind hearts which they use to good advantage. Best of all for Marbleheart is that once again his life is filled with puzzles to solve and new lands to explore.

This is the fifth and final novel in the Mancer series, and while many of the characters have appeared in the earlier adventures, this novel also works well as a stand-alone. Don Callander has a strong sense of magic himself and his characters, whether they are human, fairy, animal, or even a blue tea kettle, are amazingly well drawn. I was captured from the very beginning, and I willingly and happily traveled along with Marbleheart and Ben from one adventure to another.

The pacing of the novel is excellent and the pages seem to turn themselves. As other characters and a side-plots work there way in, the reader is skillfully taken from Wizards’ High to far distant lands and back again, and the ride is truly wonderful. The plot takes a number of unexpected turns along the way, and I was kept in suspense right up to the end.

Fantasy readers will not go wrong if they decide to join Marbleheart and Ben on their questing adventure. Magic and fun, danger and thrills, abound.

Jealousy is a powerful emotion, but is everything it whispers true?

Relationships are about much more than the happy times two people spend together. Shelby and Jason have been together long enough to outlast the honeymoon period, but they’ve never had a fight like this one before. How they react to one another in the heat of the moment says quite a bit about their personalities, and I enjoyed seeing how they approach this conflict in their relationship. It’s difficult to include a great deal of character development in such a short story, but I was intrigued by the glimpses of the darker aspects of Shelby and Jasons’s personalities that are present in this one. Neither one is a saint, and I would have loved to know more about whether or not their interpretations of one another’s actions and intentions are accurate.

While I don’t expect a tale this length to delve deeply into the character’s backgrounds or what happens to them next, I would have preferred to see more time spent wrapping up certain plot points. The ending felt abrupt to me because of the author’s approach to questions that the characters ask themselves early on in the narrative.

This short story excels at capturing the smallest details of a fight as it breaks out between two lovers. It’s easy to get so lost in the moment that one forgets everything other than what is happening right this second. Dropping the reader into the beginning of the action in the very first paragraph was a good decision, and I could’t wait to see what would happen to Shelby next as soon as I began reading this piece.

I’d recommend The End of Tomorrow to anyone who has ever flown off the handle at someone they loved. It’s an entertaining, convincing snapshot of the rough parts of being in a longterm relationship.
