When pretend turns to desire, heartbreak is unavoidable.

Sander Chase needs a date for his ex-fiancée’s engagement party, but he doesn’t have time for a woman in his life. Between working on the TV show Do You Have What It Takes? and his band reforming, he’s too busy for a relationship. What he needs is a pretend girlfriend. He thinks he may have found the perfect woman for the job, and the bribe he offers means she’s sure to accept.

After losing her job in the film industry, breaking up with her movie star boyfriend, and finding out her mum has dementia, Chloe Butler returned to the UK determined to put her life back together. The last thing she needs is to parade around London on the arm of a celebrity, and after the heartbreak caused by her ex, she swore she’d never again date a star. But when Sander offers her a chance at her dream job, it’s not something she can turn down.

As Chloe gets to know Sander she learns he’s nothing like her scumbag ex. But she struggles to fight her attraction to him, knowing their relationship is only for show and their separation date is closing in fast.

Infertility is always diagnosed after testing both the partners. canada sildenafil Ignoring the insane chemistry between them should be easy for Sander, especially since he carries a secret that means there can be no future for them, but the more time he spends with Chloe, the harder it is to keep his hands to himself.

Never Say Never is modern fairy tale. On one side there is a hero, Sander Chase, a very popular singer who does not know what love is. The other side has Chloe Butler, a make-up artist turned waitress, whose heart has been broken in a really nasty way. They are both unprepared for a relationship, and the chances that they end up together in real life are slim, but as I said this is a contemporary fairy tale.

Never Say Never is a very sensual and emotionally packed story. The attraction between the hero and heroine is palpable. The relationship’s progress is slowly buildt up, until it reaches its HEA, which I liked a lot. What is more important it that this novel is so well written. Characters are three dimensional and lovable. I felt Sander and Chloe’s pain and happiness, and that meant a lot for me, making this story a satisfying emotional read.

Just be aware that I found some of Sander’s actions and reactions confusing to me here and there throughout the story but don’t give up, a plausible reason was provided at the end and then all became clear.

Unfortunately, I have two issues witht this story that made me rate it with 4 stars. First is predictability – I knew that at some point, one character will turn up in the story and that this character will be crucial for Sander and Chloe’s conflict resolution. The problem with predictability is that this particular situation was used and recycled in so many stories that it has became a cliché, and the story did not gain much from it. The second is the overuse of the f-word in the story. I am not a prude, but when the swearing is used in a way that does not fit the story, it really starts to bother me. In many cases Aimée Duffy could have used some other words and phrases instead, with the same end result i.e. the emotional state of the character or his/her reaction to some situation will evoked to the reader.

I liked Never Say Never foremost because the author succeeded in writing a great emotional story about two broken people who find their way to happiness. Therefore I recommend it to all of you who like HEA endings and emotional reads.

Experience is a funny thing. I see the world one way and you may agree or think my sight is crazy. We tend to critique books based on whether they ring true to life, whether they match the human experience.
But what is the human experience? My YA writing relies heavily on my experiences growing up. I had a very normal childhood. We all did. However we grew up we take as the norm, and other ways are off center.

And so the books I write are a reflection, to some great extent, of my experiences as a child, teen, young adult, and the woman I am. From personal experiences, second and third hand accounts of other peoples drama, to books/TV/movies/music, to my latest trip to Wal-Mart and the Easter-egg hunts in the backyard of my childhood home (in matching dresses my mom made for my sister and me), it all gets in my books, one way or another.
I’m constantly being reminded not everyone sees the world the way I do. What I take to be self-evident truths, some find counterintuitive or have never even considered. My hope is to live in the real-world, the world as it really is, not a false world I’ve constructed out of hasty generalizations, wish fulfillment, and ignorance. I want to know the truth about the world.
As I grow as a writer, I hope to broaden my understanding of other people’s joys and suffering to make my characters and the world they inhabit richer, and a closer reflection of the universal human experience.

Eighteen-year-old Ally Watson arrives home from high school graduation, more than a little annoyed that her Uncle Argyle—Ally’s legal guardian and only surviving relative—didn’t even bother showing up. But instead of berating him for his forgetfulness, Ally finds him in a life-or-death battle with a monster. Argyle manages to kill the creature, and gives Ally a parcel containing a destiny she never knew existed.

Ally, along with her best friends Michael, Jessica, and David, hurry to Georgia to uncover the truth of Uncle Argyle’s secrets, and the meaning of the mysterious marks that Ally bears. Are the marks related to the blacksmith mythology of her ancestors? Who are these heavenly warriors who show up in the oddest of places? And will an ancient gypsy curse destroy the very things Ally fights to save?

Black Amaranth: a simple flower, a symbol with an ancient legacy, a conduit for prophecy…while faith and hope are essential to the journey, Ally soon discovers that love is the most powerful force of all.

Ally Watson’s high school graduation proves to be more of a turning point in her life than she could ever have imagined. She is upset because her only living family member, her Uncle Argyle, didn’t show up, but she soon learns that he had a very good reason. He was in a life-or-death battle with a monster, and in killing the monster, her uncle opens up a destiny for Ally that she never could have imagined.

Sasha Hibbs captured me immediately with Uncle Argyle’s battle against a necrosapien, and once captured, I couldn’t put the book down. Ally is a typical eighteen-year-old who wants to leave home after graduation and head to college with her two best friends, Jessica and David. Suddenly everything has changed and she is escaping with a package her uncle thrust into her hands, racing away from the battle with the twins, Jessica and David, and her best friend, Michael.

The novel is Ally’s coming of age story, and her decisions will affect all of humankind. Hibbs has developed Ally’s character fully making her easy to identify with. The other supporting characters are also fleshed out in great detail. In addition, Hibbs has created an entire mythology involving the descendants of Vulcan, and the details of the mythology are well presented and clearly defined.

In addition, the plot is complex, action-packed, and exciting. There are twists and turns which cause the suspense to build to a terrifying conclusion. Ally learns of her family history and she is forced to confront the reality of who she really is. She discovers secrets upon secrets, and she has to make the most important decision of her life before she can fully assimilate all that she has learned. She has guides along the way, but the path is unclear and she is uncertain. She has to decide if coming into her true identity means abandoning those closest to her.

I really enjoyed following Ally through her adventures and it wasn’t until the end that I even began to see where I thought she should go. The ending is really just the beginning as this is the first in The Vulcan Legacies series. I certainly hope that the second novel is published soon!

Readers of fantasy with a mythological twist will certainly enjoy Black Amaranth. Just be sure that when you begin reading it that you have a free schedule, as it is a hard book to put down.

With the help of her Super friends, Meri tries to figure out how her ability to see spirits can help defeat the soul-sucking villain. Troubled teen Meri is always in trouble for the pranks she plays, but the Jell-O incident is one step too far and she is expelled from school and moved from the foster home she has come to love.

Her move to a new home coincides with a visit from a girl hovering outside her window. Meri is afraid of heights so flying through the air to an unknown destination is not how she intended to spend her evening. Apparently there are others like Kesi, the flying girl, and Meri is told they are superheroes. Much to her disbelief they tell her she is one of the Supers’ Elite Force, as were her parents. There are two factions, the goodies and the baddies. Meri is needed to help the Supers win but nobody tells her how she’s supposed to do this.

This is a unique way of looking at superheroes and on the whole I enjoyed the book. Meri continues as her rebellious self, wondering if she’ll ever find a home and people to love her. The others of her group try to help her but she has a knack for getting people in trouble, although they assure her it’s as much their fault as hers.

Meri is a very strong character but some of the other people are weak. Kesi for instance is pale in comparison to Meri and Eli and yet she takes a big part in the story. I loved that this was written in the first person as this meant Meri was definitely in charge of how the story developed.

Good book and I enjoyed reading it.

This is not the typical bad boy meets good girl story.

Logan Martelli is a bad boy. He’s handsome, sexy, and knows what he wants. He steals cars. He doesn’t do relationships. And he has the hottest green eyes in River Valley.

Maddie Wright is a good girl with a wild streak. She’s confident, strong, and goes after whatever or whoever she wants. And Maddie wants Logan Martelli with a passion.

One fateful night brings Logan and Maddie together and electricity sparks between them. Maddie and Logan make a real connection, but when Logan finds out who she is, he wants nothing to do with her. However, he soon realizes he can get the ultimate revenge for his family if he continues to date Maddie. The problem is he’s starting to fall for Maddie, and he knows that a relationship will mess up everything.

Logan has to decide if revenge is worth losing his one shot at real love. What price will he pay if he betrays the one woman who may finally see behind his bad boy image?

Bad boys really are a turn on when they are like Logan Martelli.  I must be honest. I love Bad Boys, but they have to be redeemable. I mean, I want to be able to show them the way to not being so bad… and still keep some of the excitement.

Logan has a heart of gold. His reputation precedes him and there is nothing he can do about it. I understand his is a fight for survival not only of himself, but also of his family.

The only thing I did not like about Logan was his insecurity when it came to Maddie’s love. I did not like it but I understood it. For a young man who has grown up without the help of his father after his mother’s death, he is in need of love and nurturing, but unable to trust.

Maddie is a strong female character with an innocent twist. She is willing to take risks to pursue Logan’s love. Their story develops into a roller coaster of emotions. They come from different sides of the proverbial railroad tracks. What could they possibly have in common?

In my opinion, this is the best book J.S. Cooper has written to date. This is the first book in this series of the Martelli brothers. I cannot wait to find out what she has in store for the other brothers.

Will Emma and Brandon’s love be strong enough to withstand the external factors that seem to pull them apart, or will Emma’s dream man be nothing but just that–a dream?

I really enjoyed the conclusion of Emma and Brandon’s story. What seemed like insurmountable odds have been resolved.

I could not help myself while I was reading this story… I hated Desiree. Sorry, I know this is a very strong feeling … not necessarily appropriate for fictional characters, but I could not help myself. This woman was manipulative and capable of doing everything in her power to accomplish what she wanted. I had a feeling about her from book #1 that she would be this bad. I just did not know how far she was willing to go to break up Emma and Brandon’s relationship.

Emma and Brandon’s love affair is gentle, emotional, sensitive, and yes…the type that romance novels are made of. I am glad Brandon hung in there as well as Emma. Great story, great read, very enjoyable!

A bond as endless as time. Their forbidden union sealed in blood.

As the Alpha of New York, Trey placed the needs of his pack above everything—until the mate he’s waited centuries for waltzed into his life and gave him a taste of what he’d been missing. Sadie, seductive, beautiful and utterly captivating, is also something shifters avoid at all costs—a vampire. Stunned to learn of her nature, Trey turned his back on the only woman who could complete him.

Now, realizing he’s thrown away the one thing he can’t live without, Trey hunts Sadie down and defies tradition. Their sexual hunger is undeniable, with each sizzling encounter bringing them closer together. Sadie tries to resist but he refuses to allow it, using desire and her need for his blood to keep her close. With danger closing in, it’s necessary to announce his mating before the pack. To keep his female, he’s willing to lose everything he’s ever known.

Once again, Aline Hunter has delivered another great book and a solid addition to her Alpha and Omega series. This book definitely lived up to every one of my expectations. From the first page until the last, it held me captivated by the compelling characters and everything that was going on. The story got off to a fast start and it held me enthralled by a storyline that never slowed down. It was a long awaited book that I had been dying to read, and all that anticipation had me diving in with a reckless abandon. It was a page turner that I could not put down, so I ended up reading it in one sitting. And I enjoyed every single page.

In the last book, Enemy Mine, we saw that Trey treated Sadie very badly. He got himself into some trouble, and she saved his life. In a weakened state she had to take his blood. With that one drink, Sadie was tied to Trey, unable to feed from anyone else. Now, Trey was conflicted at being mated to a vampire. You see, in this series it seems that shifters and vampires do not mix. In fact we are led to believe that it is taboo. Trey acted like a jerk and turned his back on Sadie. Her heart broken, Sadie tells him that he will never see her again, and Trey unaware of the price she will pay for saving his life. This book opens several weeks later, with Trey finally coming to his senses as he learns of the danger Sadie is in.

Trey is determined to get Sadie back, but by the time he realizes the danger it may be too late. He saves Sadie from Aldon Frost, the shady mage/vamp, whose motives are still unclear at this point. I have to say that after what he has done, Trey has a lot to make up for with Sadie. He is still conflicted about their forbidden romance, loyalty to his pack, and whether or not he’s ready to sacrifice everything for her. So yeah, he messes up a few times. Even after he chooses Sadie, he has to work hard to convince her to trust that she means something to him. I loved the way he came through on that one. Next they had to face dissension within Trey’s own pack, and with some surprising characters whose hostile behavior really shocked the heck out of me.

I loved how Trey became so possessive and caring of Sadie. Confronting his pack and the sacrifice he was willing to make. I would say that he proved himself as one of my favorite drool worthy heroes. Now lets talk about the sexy times. Since the first book, Omega Mine, Trey and Sadie had shared a sizzling chemistry. I just knew that their love story would be scorching hot. I was not wrong about that. They had some steamy love scenes, including some anal play and one very sensual shower scene that almost melted my kindle. Though I would have liked more of them, their love scenes were hot, where the naughty dirty talking Trey more than proved his dominant nature.

OMG! I loved Trey.

“I’ll give you everything I am. I’ll be whatever you need”, he vowed. “I’ll move heaven and earth for you if that’s what it takes.”

I loved Sadie just as much. She was a great kick-butt heroine. She was tough and I liked the way she proved herself. Just my opinion but I think she may have been stronger than all the alpha shifters put together.

“Shifters don’t have s**t on us, mortal. You pull a gun on me and I’ll be behind you before you can blink. I’ll break your neck before you know what’s happening to you. You’ll go down faster than a five-dollar hooker.”

Wow! Sadie earned her place as one of my all time favorite bad a** female leads. Yet she had a soft vulnerable side that only came out with Trey. That is one of the things that I loved about her.

My hopes were high for this book, I’d been dying to read it since Omega Mine. Overall, I was very satisfied with Trey and Sadie and how their love story played out in this book. I had expected that this would be a tumultuous love story, so it was, and I loved the way Hunter played it out to a romantic ending.

As with her previous books, Hunter deftly worked some intriguing side stories into the plot. I did like the other characters and how the author kept giving the reader glimpses that were interesting and aplenty, with some great set-ups for future books. There was a lot of things happening, and several intriguing side stories unfolded. There were characters new and old that surprised me. Some were not what they seemed, and some of them got on my last nerve and had me wanting to scream at them. Just like the first two books, this one had a lot of action, with some thrilling fight scenes. A lot of questions were asked in this book, with some big and exciting things seeming to be just around the corner for this series. Even the epilogue was essentially a set up for a future story. One that I’d say was very surprising to this reader.

I loved this book. If I could describe it with only one word it would be intense. The plot was a compelling story of forbidden love, but it was so much more with the many interwoven side stories and intriguing characters. It lived up to all of my expectations and kept me entertained right up until the last page. It flew by much too fast and left me wanting more. So whatever journey Aline Hunter takes with this thrilling series, then this is one reader who is sure to follow.

Vampire Mine will definitely be a highly recommended paranormal read from this happy reader.

But when tourists start disappearing and charred body remains crop up, Jayda learns the hard way that this drug doesn’t just fry people’s minds—it also fuels demons.

Luckily, the sexy new medic, Ben Tierney, is a demon-hunter in disguise, except his demon-busting powers don’t work so well anymore. Until he realizes Jayda’s touch can refuel the energy he’s lost—a touch she’s not so willing to dish out. Fighting to hold onto her carefully controlled life, Jayda must decide if she’ll let Ben help her defeat the demons who threaten to infect the town by the 4th of July—even if it means exposing her true self and losing everything. Again.

How did EMTs and the supernatural get mixed up? This is only the start of a series of surprises in Elizabeth Otto’s novel. Four times, I thought I had the plot fixed in my head and everything worked out…then I was proved wrong. It’s hard for authors to do this continually without the surprises becoming predictable or unrealistic but Otto manages this balance perfectly.
Here is a list of the main benefits of ultrasound are: The increase in blood flow to the sildenafil online purchase erectile tissue of the penis swells and stiffens. Noticing symptoms and alerting you to unhealthy behaviors is helped by medical professionals. purchase generic cialis It allows them to revise the education they have received from the online course and it remains fresh and clear in cialis pills free the mind. And this treatment is tadalafil without prescription highly expensive.
Jayda is introduced to a new world slowly and only learns a little at a time but the reader knows far more about Ben and his background. We are lead to believe we know everything and yet, multiple times, are mislead. Even the evil character in this book surprises. Otto uses different techniques to achieve this – foreshadowing and not mentioning certain things and people among them. What is really great to see is how invisible this craft is, hiding the warning subtly rather than framing it with bookends. I often didn’t realise something big and new was coming until it did.

In addition, the surprises work around a hot romance. Jayda and Ben have initial hiccoughs but the bedroom activity made me sweat with their passion. They are a hot headed couple who often get angry and argue but they work it out and this interchange leaves me more than a little boneless as I read. Their romance is not one for those who can’t take the pressure of frequent (and descriptive) sex but it is great if you like lust and broken emotional barriers.

There is the odd typo here and there but this does not detract from the reading. The only thing holding me back from giving this book a full rating is the speed of plot progression in the last scenes. The connections and explanations of the surprises sprung on the reader are hastily drawn together with little time to dwell on each new piece of information. I also thought Jayda’s final climatic decision during the last face off with evil was badly thought through by her and therefore uncharacteristic of her usually methodical character.

However, Otto’s book holds together and shows a wealth of information and detail about the medical profession. There is brilliant description of both hospitals and the medical life as well as the slum, druggy life and its effects. The novel contains a passion for humankind – their sorrows and regrets, at all ages, with no judgement as to which one is worse- which stands out. There is a message to be had here in that we can all be changed to good as well as find new love, no matter how deep our sorrows and pain.

This book series is about sexy bachelor firefighters. Since I’ve read quite a few of these, I can safely say that this is a wonderful standalone read. In fact, Patrick, the hero, has to face his demons and the only way to do that with any effectiveness is to leave the safety of the fire house and fight fires in an environment and place he’d never thought he would – his home town. There is hardly anything being carried over from the previous books in the series except Patrick’s bad-boy attitude and his determination to be the top at whatever he does. Okay, there are a few spotlights on the other guys in the beginning but it’s in passing, like buddies slapping each other on the back as they head off to do whatever they are heading off to do. In a way, that gives a reader that sense of what kind of firefighting family Patrick belongs to, how important it is to him and why going away was a good thing/bad thing for him. And the journey he’s about to embark upon will have him battling the fires of the forest as well as the fires of passion that have been simmering since the day he left home, he just didn’t know it.

The person who will fan those glowing embers is Lara, the heroine. She’s the woman from his past that he never truly forgot. She’s moved on with her life and she’s made something of herself which is quite the accomplishment. Wait until readers get a load of her unusual upbringing. She thinks it’s horrid but in the long run, I think it served a purpose. It made her aware of certain aspects of herself and kept her wary so she didn’t fall prey to unscrupulous men. That was a double edged sword because like a pendulum, she swung the other way and avoided men as much as she could. She was a career woman 100%. That is until fate decided to reintroduce her to her first infatuation, Patrick, in a way and manner that she could not ignore. It was adorable, dramatic, special and pivotal.

Emotions are strong in this book. The author was able to effectively convey whatever Lara and Patrick were feeling and it drew me in too. There was a lot of laughter, consternation, fun, drama, stress, sadness, joy and determination. The determination comes from the angle of Patrick’s family. If a reader enjoys the conflict of a man overcoming the challenges of a dysfunctional family then this bit of drama delivers. Once I was made to understand the family dynamic, it explained so much of why the hero was the way he was. But you know what? He’s a better man than the man he calls Big Dog. I really admired Patrick and felt he was a wonderful, robust hero. The author’s use of descriptive language sure made him sound yummy. The best part, he’s delicious inside and out. Another personality trait that I admired was his capacity to love. That was showcased by how he treated, related and cared for his brother. It was endearing and caused no end of emotional angst, and ultimately, one of the greatest surprises.

Did I mention that this story has humor? It’s in the dialogue. There were so many moments when I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. I enjoyed the repartee between Patrick and Lara and I believe it provided insight into their budding romance. They were good together and it was a pleasure to watch their relationship take off. Speaking of “taking off” – there are some incredibly sexy antics between the two that were wonderfully entertaining and fun. The author wrote those scenes extremely well and are a credit to the story.

Secondary characters are important too. They provide a wonderful flavor to the environment and were great sounding boards for the hero and heroine. At times they even provided comic relief. The only person that surprised me was Patrick’s mom. There’s also one aspect of the book that I felt could have been handled better and that was when I finally got to meet the hero’s brother, Liam. I’m not too sure what could have made it better but it didn’t resonate with me as I’d hoped. The only thing I can think of to say was that it was anticlimactic. It didn’t seem so powerful a moment as I was led to believe it might be. It had its cute moments but I just expected a bigger impact.

How to Tame a Wild Fireman is a classic character driven romance that entertains and enchants on so many levels. I was greatly affected by the conflict because I felt it was tragic. One man’s arrogance and belligerence poisoned a whole family, and for what? It was terrific to see Patrick and Lara rise above it all and to not only fall in love, but to heal, grow and finally have a future that promises to be as exciting and beautiful as a romance reader could wish. This is a book well worth spending time with. As for the ending, it has a happy ever after that’s almost as hot as any fire. Read it and see.

Time is of the essence to everyone but her…

In 1892 Victorian London, Demetra Ashdown is a half-daemon with the ability to locate and draw Aetheric artifacts to her. When her former fiancé’s valet is held hostage and will only be released in exchange for a device with the power to control time, she must act quickly to save a man’s life. Armed with only her razor-edged fan and equally sharp wit, she feels it is her duty to ensure that the potentially-devastating device does not fall into the wrong hands.

In addition to this dilemma, she must determine if she both trusts and loves the man to whom she was once betrothed. Lord Francis Winterton not only broke her heart, but also appears to have betrayed her to the ruthless people in search of this powerful artifact. With close friend and inventor Simon Warom at her side, Demetra begins her adventure: the hunt for the clock that will save the life of the valet, and thus prevent Francis from transgressing the limits of fashionable good taste.

Demetra Ashdown decides to help Lord Francis Winterton, her former fiancé, rescue his valet who has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. The kidnappers want the Chronos Clock, an artifact which has the ability to change time. Demetra, a half-daemon, has the ability to locate artifacts and draw them to her, and she feels that she must take charge in this case to prevent the Chronos Clock from falling into the wrong hands.

Demetra is a very smart and witty heroine. When she is stumped about the next step to take, she says to Francis, “If the kidnappers had any manners whatsoever, they might give you at least some clue as to where to look,” Demetra responded, offering him a slice of cheese. “However, I think it is safe to assume since they have chosen to operate outside the law, they have no manners. Therefore, we are on our own. Besides, if we find the clock, we have no intention of giving it to the kidnappers.”

Wendy Callahan has written a fun story with good pacing. I enjoyed the characters, especially Demetra, Francis, and Simon, but I would have liked to see more character development. Demetra has a sharp tongue capable of very witty repartee, which she uses effectively to keep others, especially Francis, at a distance. Unfortunately, she also succeeds in keeping her readers at a distance. I would have liked to have gotten to know her better as she has a lot of fascinating characteristics.

It was humorous to have the kidnapping victim be a valet and I enjoyed Demetra’s announcement that she was helping to find him in order to prevent Francis from exhibiting poor sartorial taste, but the plot took some unexpected turns which I, at least, found to be not quite believable. After everything was solved, I realized that it was possible to figure it out, but I think the author could have added some depth to the plot to make the ending seem not only surprising but also more plausible.

Nevertheless, this was definitely a fun read and it captured the flavor of Victorian London society. The mystery was intriguing and I think my favorite character was actually Simon, Demetra’s close friend and inventor.

I am sure that readers who enjoy Steampunk fantasy will find this to be a most engaging story with plenty of action and very amusing characters who battle fireballs and other mayhem.
