How do you stay under the sheriff’s radar in a town that prides itself on knowing everyone’s business? Leah’s not sure it’s possible, but she’s determined to avoid Colton Bea for as long as she can. Seeing him again would be too heartbreaking-and she knows from experience his bone-melting kisses are way too tempting.

Colt reminds me of that kid that every school has that just never seems to grow up. Even thought he is the sheriff, you can still see the seventeen year old wild child in him. That is what first piqued my interest, because I knew at some point his lifetime party would have to end, and he would need to grow up. It took a lot for Colt to change, getting hit by a car, Leah returning, and more, but he eventually seems to come around to be the man I knew was trapped inside the man-child.

Leah at times I was completely behind and others I just had to shake my head in disappointment. She has had to make some tough decisions in her life, and some of them while I could understand I just could not agree with. Being the pastor’s daughter means she was brought up with a code of ethics that many just cannot challenge and makes her seem almost perfect. The problem with being virtually perfect is that when you fall it is from a mighty high pedestal that most people including Colt have place you on.

I have been following this series from the beginning, and was not disappointed in the least bit. This is certainly a story that I can say will wreak havoc on one’s emotions the way it did mine. It was one of the only romance stories that actually made me question if there was indeed going to be a happy ever after for the characters. While this story is part of a series it is definitely a story that can stand alone. Anyone can pick it up and immediately be transported to Sultry Springs with nice wholesome country girls and hot cowboys. I cannot wait to see the next installment.

He was supposed to take care of Alice. Can he save the day by finding the missing candy?

Aunt Jennifer doesn’t accept anything other than your very best effort. For Petey this is becoming a huge problem.

He cares about his cousin, but Petey has no idea how to solve this mystery in such a short timespan. Alice and Petey have clearly spent quite a bit of time together, and their relationship is closer to being a sibling bond than a cousin one. The best scenes in this book involve him protecting her from dangers imagined and real as they run around their neighbourhood collecting clues.
In the event that you don’t take after the prescribed measurements rules, this item may prompt more extreme viagra in italy reactions, for example, delayed erections or impeded vision and so on. The real cause of premature generico cialis on line ejaculation is still mysterious. About 50% of the pediatric patient who needs a transplant have Biliary Atresia purchase cialis (Atresia is a condition where an orifice or passage in the body is closed or absent). What is essential in both sexes to memorize, though, is that a on line levitra softer erection, drop in natural lubrication, or a less concentrated orgasm doesn t indicate you re no longer concerned in your mate or in sex itself.
I was temporarily caught off guard when Petey misjudges a common disease. His claims about it are no longer necessarily true for people who have this condition under control. While his outdated information provides an important hint about the time period in which these characters live I would have preferred to see an adult correct his error.

Petey is chronologically a teenager, but his interests lie in activities that most of his contemporaries would probably no longer find amusing. He seems to be a late bloomer, and the combination of his playful personality and the subject matter of this tale will make it far more appealing to younger readers even if a few vocabulary words are unfamiliar to the average 8-year-old.

It isn’t easy to write humorous, engaging stories for this age group, but Mr. Greenough makes the process look effortless. This mystery is the perfect first step in any private investigator’s career, and I read all 35 pages in one sitting because I was so interested in figuring out who actually stole Alice’s chocolate. At one point Petey and Alice figure out something the adults haven’t told them about one of their neighbors, and their kind and sensitive reaction to such a serious matter made me wish their adventures would never end.

I was delighted by the hijinks in The Mystery of the Purloined Chocolate Bar and hope to hear more from this cast of characters soon.

Every civilization has its myths. Only one is true.

When eighteen-year-old Keiko Yamada’s father dies unexpectedly, he leaves behind a one way ticket to Japan, an unintelligible death poem about powerful Japanese spirits and their gigantic, beast-like Guardians, and the cryptic words: “Go to Japan in my place. Find the Gate. My camera will show you the way.”

Alone and afraid, Keiko travels to Tokyo, determined to fulfill her father’s dying wish. There, beneath glittering neon signs, her father’s death poem comes to life. Ancient spirits spring from the shadows. Chaos envelops the city, and as Keiko flees its burning streets, her guide, the beautiful Yui Akiko, makes a stunning confession–that she, Yui, is one of a handful of spirits left behind to defend the world against the most powerful among them: a once noble spirit now insane. Keiko must decide if she will honor her father’s heritage and take her rightful place among the gods.

Keiko travels to Japan to fulfill her father’s dying wish, a wish that is filled with mystery. Her father left a note which told her to go to Japan, and find the Gate, using her camera to show her the way. Her father had also booked her with a guide service called Ancestral Travel, but almost immediately, Keiko wanders away from the tour, becoming lost and confused. She had no idea that there were so many Torii gates! Ancient spirits spring from the shadows and she is soon fleeing the chaos enveloping Tokyo. Her guide, Yui Akkiko, finds her and as they flee, Yui reveals that she is one of the few remaining spirits working to defend the world from an insane spirit. Keiko’s entire world has been turned upside-down and now she must decide if she will try to fulfill her father’s dying wish.

Keith Yatsuhashi has written an incredibly fast-paced, complex story which is told from a variety of points of view. The shifts in perspective are handled skillfully and effectively. I had no difficulty following the narrative and I thought that the different perspectives add depth to the plot. There are a number of characters involved, both spirits and guardians, and I found the interaction between the spirits and their guardians to be fascinating.

The various settings, especially those in Japan, are described vividly, with a richness that puts the reader right in the story. Myths and legends come to life in a very human way. I especially liked watching Keiko as she learns about a world which is totally foreign to her. It isn’t just traveling to Japan, although that is an enormous shock to her. She is an American, totally unfamiliar with Japanese customs, such as the Japanese baths. However, even more than learning about a new country, Keiko has to learn about spirits and powers, commanding elements, what it means to be a guardian, and so much more. And she has to learn it as a war erupts, a war begun by a spirit who has tampered with forbidden arts and in the process gone completely insane.

Kojiki is an action-packed, fast-moving, thriller, which is steeped in Japanese culture and mythology. If you are looking for an exciting fantasy novel, I definitely recommend that you give Kojiki a try. You won’t be disappointed.

He’s sworn to protect her from any danger…even himself.

Rogue, Book 2

What a pity Jamie MacLeod had to be such a good-looking man. And so tall. With such broad shoulders. Because he’s quite possibly the most annoying male Marissa Barclay has ever met.

No matter what her sister’s new husband seems to think, Mari has no need for his brother, a hulking, kilted Highlander, hovering over her through London’s Little Season.

Family or nae, Jamie has enough on his plate overseeing his family’s English estates without the added annoyance of keeping an eye on Mari. Especially since she seems as determined to slip by him as he is determined to do his protective duty. In truth, it’s quite a job keeping the willful little minx out of trouble.

But when an old enemy strikes at the heart of the MacLeod family, Jamie whisks Mari away from London’s glitter to the wilds of his homeland. Where a stormy love blooms…and danger lurks in the hills.

I was delighted with this book. I was charmed by Jamie and Mari and easily drawn into their love story.

This is the second book in the Rogue series, continuing where Rogue of the Highlands left off. Ian has left his younger brother, Jamie , in charge of the English estates and asked the devilishly handsome rogue to look after Jillian’s younger sister, Mari. When Mari recklessly insists on enjoying some of the social events in London, Jamie accompanies the impetuous girl to keep her safe. Not cause he’s attracted you see, he just takes his responsibilities seriously. I enjoyed a few chuckles as the headstrong Mari found that out the hard way.

I had a serious thing for the braw Jamie. *Blushes* He stole my heart with his protectiveness and his delightful misinterpretations. I liked Mari, despite her acting like a spoiled brat at times. Ms. Breeding did an excellent job of fleshing out the characters and showing me why Mari felt the way she did. I knew she all her protestations and quips were hiding her feelings so I trusted the charming rogue to win her heart. How could she not when that man was so hot. She tore him up at one point though and I almost lost my faith in her.

The book kept me hooked with some exciting suspense. An old villain was at large. He and his spawn are up to no good and nefarious plans are afoot. The danger escalates when Jamie stands in the way. Events happen that move the story back to the Highlands, bringing even more intensity along with some Faerie magic into the story. Completely captivated at this point, this reader hung on every word as the story played out from there.

This second book was a long time coming for this reader who fell in love with Jamie in the first book. Course you must know that I was jeaulous of Mari and got mad at her often. It was wonderfully written with witty dialogue and spicy love scenes. Full of adventure, passion and suspense that had me clutching my Kindle tightly. I can only hope that Breeding will continue the series and give cousin Shane a book. Please … I was so intrigued by him and Abigail.

Rogue of the Isles was a wonderful book that I had so much fun reading. I am recommending it to historical romance readers far and wide.

Once upon a time, a writer woke up in the middle of her own book…

Hades’ Carnival, Book 3

Araminta Davenport has arrived. After giving up her librarian job to be a full-time writer, all those lonely nights alone with her cat and her keyboard have paid off. She’s been invited to participate in one of the biggest reader appreciation weekends—as a professional author.

She can’t imagine her life getting any more exciting than that…until she accidentally releases a sexy, shapeshifting, immortal warrior from a five-thousand-year-old curse.

Finally free of his carousel prison, lion shifter Leander is determined not to let Hades lure him to the dark side in a quest for world domination. Nor will he give the delectable Araminta up to the clutches of the dark one. If they can survive twenty-four hours—and somehow resist losing themselves completely in the sexual haze threatening to swallow them up—the curse will be permanently broken.

But the clock is ticking, the heat is rising…and only the ultimate sacrifice will save them both.

Pride of the Lion is the third installment of N.J. Walters’ short series, Hades’ Carnival. This is a wonderfully dark and intriguing world, with characters that are fully developed and multifaceted, with insecurities and flaws just like the rest of us. I do enjoy visiting Ms. Walters’ world, but I’m kind of glad I don’t actually live there all the time. It is a world where things aren’t always as they appear to be, and evil hides behind a pretty, or handsome, face. I love the legend she has incorporated, The Lady of the Beasts, and it sends my imagination into overdrive.

Araminta Davenport is absolutely thrilled to have been invited to participate in one of the biggest, most important reader appreciation weekends…as a professional writer. She gave up her day jobs, and feels that she is finally seeing some rewards for all her hard work. What Araminta doesn’t know is that there is someone orchestrating it all from behind the scenes; someone evil and looking toward his own agenda. When Araminta breaks the spell on the lion shifter, Leander, while on the carousel from Hades Carnival, she realizes that what she has been writing isn’t fiction at all; her most recent book follows what is happening to her in this life that has gone just a bit crazy all of a sudden. As for Leander, now that he is free, he is determined to stay that way, and keep both the lovely Araminta and himself out of Hades’ clutches for the next twenty-four hours. As Araminta and Leander grow closer, so do Hades and his minions, including the ever-mysterious Mordecai, one of the freed warriors who accepted Hades’ proposition. When they learn that the events from the first two books written by Araminta have actually occurred, they try to contact the other warriors for assistance. Can Leander keep Araminta safe and refuse Hades’ offer? What other secrets will be revealed as these two fight for their very souls? Will there be a happy ever after for Leander and Araminta, or will Hades finally succeed in his evil plans?

Araminta Davenport is smart, talented, and yet a bit shy and unassuming at first. When she begins to understand that Hades has tricked her, she begins to doubt her talent, and fears she has lost her mind at first. But as she gains a sense of what is happening, she is determined to help Leander resist Hades and his many lures and temptations. I liked Araminta’s quiet strength and determination, and her ability to accept what is happening without question. I liked watching as she grew closer to Leander, and was able to trick Hades as well.

Leander is an ancient warrior, a lion shifter and one of the beasts cursed by his Lady to protect him and his fellow warriors until the time was right for them to be awakened. Leander is strong, handsome and hot, and yet, he is also considerate and willing to listen to Araminta’s ideas. I like Leander for his loyalty and his ability to adapt to situations that are far beyond his knowledge at times.

There are some fantastic surprise twists in this book. I like that Ms. Walters was able to show that even Hades can make mistakes, and forget about some of his goals. There are some unexpected allies here, and I refuse to say any more about them now. Just be aware that all is not lost and nothing is as it seems at times. Of course, there is lots of hot and heavy action as well between Leander and Araminta; it wouldn’t be N.J. Walters without it. I am looking forward to the final episode in this passionate tale of good versus evil. Do Leander and Araminta survive their challenge? Now, that would be telling, and I think that it is better to read it for yourself.

The severe complications due to the use of these pills are: increased breathing, increased blood pressure, online levitra increased heart beats. This prediction was nowhere close to being accurate as many people pen click now now levitra canadian pharmacy down their experiences there.
I’ve read some really good menage relationship books but not many where two of the characters are a happily married husband and wife. This story is special because even if Kevin and Jill had never decided that they wanted to add a “spare dick” for a one night fantasy they would have still lived happily ever after. The writer left no doubt that the success of their relationship isn’t tied to adding someone to it. As high school sweethearts and twelve years of marriage, they had already built the lasting best friends and lovers foundation. It’s funny how teasing suggestions can lead to unintended consequences. In the case of Kevin, Jill and Adam I experienced every level of concern, fear, trepidation, longing, accepting and finally love in this fantastic little read.

Ms. Wilde set the tone for the story from the beginning and I was hooked to the very end. It wasn’t hard to see how Kevin could go from being completely hetero to eventually asking for what he wanted. I liked that Ms. Wilde didn’t make the transition easy for Kevin. The idea of what Jill asked him to do was stressful and he had questions but every decision he made, every step he took was always about her. Likewise, when Jill is confronted with what she perceives as duplicity she reacts as a normal woman would. It wouldn’t have made sense for her to simply accept what had been done without running the gambit of emotions. The writer made me think about how she was feeling and that’s important to me as a reader. If I don’t care how the characters struggle or how they feel then I’m not vested into their HEA or HFN.

Adam Heller is simply precious. Don’t tell him that, he considers himself a bit of an alpha male but he’s so much more than the gruff exterior of man known as “Hell” by his peers. He makes no apologies for what or who he wants but he doesn’t try to force others to be who they aren’t. I liked that he was able to be vulnerable it the right situation but didn’t hide and let some miscommunication ruin a good thing. Even if that “good thing” didn’t include him. I had no trouble buying into his feelings and the chemistry between him and Jill as well as him and Kevin.

There were no real surprises in the subplot concerning the missing girl, it could have been taken directly from a rural town newspaper, but it’s so well written and flows at just the right pace I didn’t want to stop reading. Not to say the subplot wasn’t necessary, it was. The story could have been solely about how Adam came to be a part of Kevin and Jill’s relationship but the intensity of the emotions and clarity of the moment that came out as a result of the case gave credence to what they all felt. It wasn’t simply a classic trope for the sake of writing some hot sex scenes.

Spare Dick is a thrilling short story for those who want that full body shiver of excitement. It has characters who made me care and a story that swept me along. I would cheerfully read another story where these three were either the main characters or maybe even simply reoccurring characters. That’s a story you don’t soon forget.

This is part of Ms. terrell’s Black Swamp Mystery series and, even though it would helpful to have read the first book in the series (just because you would already be familiar with the characters), I didn’t find it a problem to pick up without having read the first book.  The characters are well drawn and engaging and there is enough backstory included that I never felt lost.

The author is truly skilled and, with her apt descriptions and well chosen words, she  really amps up the suspense in this story.  There are a lot of twists and turns in the story and Ms. terrell keeps you guessing to the end.

Secrets of a Dangerous Woman is very fast-paced and keeps you entertained and on the edge of your seat as you try to keep up with the story. I’m going to hurry out and get the other books in the series–I enjoyed this one THAT much.

Kora Walsh wants nothing more than to open a new age shop in Sedona, AZ, now that she has earned her MBA. She is a sorceress, the daughter of a mortal and a goddess, and her mother has trained her to become her mole in the local colony of witches. Kora’s shop is located on the border between Sedona and Wipuk, a magical community which is invisible to humans. The shop’s first floor is visible to all, but the second floor is in Wipuk, and Kora hopes that this means she will be able to attract customers from both worlds. Unfortunately, Wikup is rife with bigots who don’t want either her or her new shop in their community.

Anya Breton has written an exciting, action-packed novel with some really great characters. I like the premise of two adjoining worlds, magic and human. Kora is very likeable and I was quickly caught up in her adventures. She lived in the world of the gods for the first ten years of her life, but since then she has lived in the human world, acting as an agent for her mother and keeping witches from getting out of control. Kora has some amazing powers, but at heart she is still a young woman fresh out of graduate school wanting to start her own business. Her mother keeps interrupting with various requests for favors, which Kora knows are really orders, sending Kora all over the world to stop witches who are misusing their powers. In spite of the interruptions, she does manage to open her store and I really like the assistant she hires, Nell, the eldest child of the Air witch high priestess. Nell is able to tell Kora all about the Wikup community and Nell lets Kora know that she also has some issues with the magical community. Kora and Nell bond over their mutual dislike of Desmond Marino, the head Water witch, who tries to drive Kora out of Wikup. He may be good looking, but he is truly power-hungry and full of himself.

Breton takes her readers on a marvelous adventure, and I recommend this novel to any lovers of fantasy. The characters are well-drawn, the setting is intriguing, and the plot moves quickly with lots of excitement. The Only Sorceress is the first in a series, but it ends with most of the current plot lines tied up. That being said, I really can’t wait for the next book in the series and I hope it is published soon.

To do so would mean rejecting Benson’s love. And that’s the one thing Tavia Michaels swore she’d never do.

This is one of the best Young Adult stories I have read in a while, so much so that I wasn’t ready for it to end.

Tavia is anything but your average eighteen year old. She had to suffer the tragedy of her parents dying and getting complete uprooted from her life, as well as fight for her life. This is just in the first chapter. Tavia is someone that I sympathized with immediately because she has had to deal with more in her life than most people ever do. These experiences have made her a recluse both physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

While Tavia keeps people at a distance it does not mean she goes unaffected and Benson certainly has an effect on her. I immediately recognized the connection they had. Benson and Elizabeth, her psychologist seem to provide a semblance of a normal life for Tavia. That is until her world is turned upside down and she doesn’t know who to trust, the mysterious yet hot guy that keeps showing up or the people who have helped bring her back from the brink of death.

Once I started to read this story I was immediately addicted. The author just had a way of making me feel like I was part of the story. The words seem to come off the pages and act out scenes right in my home. I was so intrigued and encased in the story I found myself up at the wee hours of the night telling myself just one more page. On top of that the end was such a cliff hanger that I cannot wait to read the next installment, because there is no question in my mind that Tavia’s story has only just begun.

In a futuristic world nearly destroyed by religious extremists, Justin March lives in exile after failing in his job as an investigator of religious groups and supernatural claims. But Justin is given a second chance when Mae Koskinen comes to bring him back to the Republic of United North America (RUNA). Raised in an aristocratic caste, Mae is now a member of the military’s most elite and terrifying tier, a soldier with enhanced reflexes and skills.

When Justin and Mae are assigned to work together to solve a string of ritualistic murders, they soon realize that their discoveries have exposed them to terrible danger. As their investigation races forward, unknown enemies and powers greater than they can imagine are gathering in the shadows, ready to reclaim the world in which humans are merely game pieces on their board.

This is a world where you have religious investigators and superhuman praetorian guards protecting the innocent from the evils of overzealous religious factions. The populations have been segregated once again, the haves and the have nots clearly defined for all to see. It is this last point that makes it so difficult for Mae Koskinen, an aristocratic Nordic, and Justin March, a common man, to meet in the middle and defeat the terror that is threatening all the world has worked so hard to achieve. Can they put aside their differences – and their intense attraction – to work towards a common goal?

I immediately liked Justin March. He’s one of those characters that is so flawed even he knows it. In a lot of cases, this would make him an unlikable character, but you can see through that rough exterior and see the good man at the core. His love of his sister and his dedication to his friend’s daughter really show that he’s not nearly as bad as he comes across as.

Mae Koskinen is another surprising character. Raised in an aristocratic caste, she left it all behind to be free – free from society’s restraints, from a forced marriage, just free. This alone made me love her, but the sheer force of will she exhibits sometimes and her dedication to her job prove she’s a solid, reliable person to have on your team. She had her moments when I wasn’t sure if I was going to like her much, but she always managed to change my mind.

Gameboard of the Gods is packed to the brim with action, suspense, and hidden secrets that sneak out one by one, drawing you farther into the story with every page. I’ve long enjoyed Ms. Mead’s work, but I think this is one of the most intricate and enjoyable novels I’ve read in years. This series has a permanent place on my must read list.
