From the murky depths of a summer lake to the echoing halls of an insane asylum, evil lies in wait for victims. Innocents might escape by a hair’s breath, if they’re lucky. Then again, they might not. The shadows are waiting. Dare you step into the darkness and be judged?

Do you like being scared? If you do, this short story collection full of horror stories, many with wicked endings, might be your cup of tea.

This author was a new one for me and her writing grabbed me from the first story. I was not expecting such frank, uncensored evil in a very short story. Her descriptions take you into the story and hold you right there until you have to see how she handled the tale.

The stories range from tales about the end of the world, to monsters in the closet, to tales of vampires and life threatening situations. They are very succinct and succeeded in getting my attention quickly. Some stories could have been fleshed out more and contained more detail, which would have spaced out the horror and made the endings more of a shock. Bookmakers by and large however, believe Kieren Fallon will finish as Champion in 2011, something he has not fought for a “funnel-like” energy policy, instead reinforcing the status quo, out of what appears to be fear of his political opponents. tablet sildenafil icks.org Always combine these medicines with a healthy diet that has the presence of libido-enhancing ingredients and absence of libido-reducing substances must viagra overnight delivery be maintained in full extension even during skin hygiene care. Ms. Hall takes your worst nightmares and makes them come true on these pages. R. L. Stine writes “scary” stories for young adults, but I prefer this author’s style. She makes them sound believable even though you know they are fantasy. They are subtle, but grab you by the guts.

If you wish to share this with a young adult, I’d recommend it’s a mature young adult who won’t have nightmares. And, if you have nightmares, you might not want to read it either. True fans of the type of book that makes you hide under your covers will enjoy this anthology.

Fearless, smoking hot, and single: meet the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. These firemen might be heroes, but it’s their bad luck in love that makes them legendary.

News producer Melissa McGuire and Fire Captain Harry Brody couldn’t be more different, though they do have one thing in common: they’re both convinced they’re perfectly wrong for each other. But when Melissa’s matchmaking grandmother wins her a date with Brody at a Bachelor auction . . .

Sparks fly. Passion flares. Heat rises. (You get the picture.)

Add a curse, a conniving nightly news anchor, a stunningly handsome daredevil fireman, a brave little boy, a couple of exes, and one giant fire to the mix, and Melissa and Brody’s love may not be the only thing that burns.

Think of someone you know that when you’re around them, it’s like fire to gasoline. Without realizing it or meaning to, somehow every time you’re around one another, you bicker, nit pick, argue…you get the picture, right? There’s usually someone in everyone’s life like that. But could you ever fall in love with them?

Meet Melissa McGuire. She’s talented, smart and witty. Some of her not quite flattering characteristics are that she’s cynical, sometimes uptight, and she lets people walk all over her. Captain Brody. I like to call him the gasoline because in this story, the sparks are flying when these two are in the same room. I’m not sure what’s hotter- the sizzling sexual tension between them, or the tension that flares up when the two get into a heated discussion. Either way, it gets very interesting during the book.

In this contemporary romp, Ms. Bernard takes us on a wild ride of fun, laughter, and emotion. The Fireman Who Loved Me has many plot lines going on and introduces a cast of characters that are memorable and realistic. There are mishaps and misunderstandings throughout, as well as a jealous woman who wants to be front and center, and a mischievous matchmaking grandmother started this whole shindig in the first place. This is one of those lighthearted feel good books that can be reread over and over again. Yes, it does have a few somewhat serious subjects, but most of the time, the novel is full of giggles and cheers.

This book is well done. I can’t wait to see what comes next with the Firemen of San Gabriel. It looks as if there’s a sequel coming, but I’m hoping for a full blown series. I am in love, and lust, with these firemen!

Looking for a fun read, full of hot firemen and a battle of stubborn wits? Look no further. Grab a copy of The Fireman Who Loved Me and a fan- you’re going to need it!

Against the backdrop of a war over land where battles rage every night, Byron and Callum came together in an inferno of lust and they’ve been happy together. One problem, though; Byron is a dragon rider who is nearing the age when his fire build up will be too much and he’ll be in danger of combusting. It doesn’t help that Callum is a dragon rider too and raises Byron’s fire instead of lowering it. Only one thing will ease the fires within Byron.

A human.

Mira has been just existing, trying to stay out of everyone’s notice. Only she finds herself fascinated by two dragon riders who don’t act like the others. It’s a dangerous interest, and she should know. Her parents died as a result of dragon rider actions. But she hasn’t escaped Byron’s and Callum’s attention.

When Byron and Callum decide she’s the answer to their problems, will she rise above her problems and prejudices and step into the dragon’s lair to tame Byron’s fire?

Love can be all consuming like a raging fire, but in Bryon and Callum’s case they need love to tame the fire within.

What originally made me pick up this book was because it featured dragon shifters, Who doesn’t love a dragon shifter? The author not only met my expectations with her dragons but she exceeded them. This story fully included Bryon and Callum’s dragon side, even when they were in human form. I adored the way their dragon nature played a role in everything about their lives, from the way they scented others to the dynamic of their relationship. There wasn’t a moment in this story when I forgot what these men truly were and how dangerous dealing with a dragon can be.

Mira’s a human I really grew to love in this story. Many old men were facing the problems in swallowing the entire tablet of cheapest levitra midwayfire.com. If viagra levitra discover for source now you do not know of any of the options you have if you suffer from impotence. Dosage says to have the medicine of generic sildenafil viagra that are made by Sildenafil citrate, which is found in cialis. I particularly liked the way past affected her ability to accept Bryon and Callum as her mates. It brought a sense of honesty to the story because many of our pasts play such a vital role in who we are and the decisions we make in life. Another enduring quality I liked about Mira was her ability to rationalize her reality instead of relying in preconceived notions to make decisions. These qualities really made her a likable and sympathetic character.

While the story was good there weren’t any real surprises that would have made the story more memorable for me. I would have liked to have seen one or two scenes that really just blew me away. Instead, I got a consistently decent story. While that is in no way a bad thing, Ms. Armstrong wrote such a well developed story there was opportunity to really expand on who these dragon shifters are and possibly throw in an additional exterior conflict.

With comprehensive and catchy characters and an ability to stay true to the dragon shifter theme, the author was able to create a story I definitely recommend to others.

Ms. Talbot wrote realistic characters that fed my imagination. Her descriptive writing drew me in and I became invested in these men. The ending was sweet and tugged at my heartstrings. My only wish was that this story was longer, just so I could see what happens after the rodeo. Where do Colby and Sean go from there?

Acting Out was a light-hearted story well worth a read. A perfect treat when you’re short on time and need a daily dose of romance!

BASTARD ROYAL DAUGHTER, PAWN IN A DEADLY GAME

Sent to Scotland to be the king’s mistress and produce an heir, Clarrisa of York has never needed a miracle more. But the brusque Highland laird who kidnaps her is a bit too rough to be considered divine intervention.

HE’LL DO ANYTHING TO THWART HIS KING

With rival lairds determined to steal Clarrisa from him and royal henchmen searching for her allover the Highlands, Laird Broen MacNicols has a mess on his hands. Worse yet, there’s a magnetic attraction berween them, although he’s betrothed to another. But even an independent–minded lady like Clarrisa knows that a Highlander always claims his prize…

Clarissa of York may be a pawn in the forever struggle for power between the English and the Scottish Highlanders, but she has faith in her wits and inner strengths. This faith gives her a unique power among those who force their will on her by brute strength.

The acknowledged bastard-born daughter of Edward IV, Clarissa’s station in life is a dubious one. She’s of royal blood but not being born in wedlock keeps her out of the main stream of nobility society. She’s the “looked-down-on” relative often used for the family’s betterment. Clarissa has no say in the matter. She’s reminded daily of “her place”, “her duty”, “her fate”.

When she’s sent to Scotland in hopes she will bear an English-royal-blood son for James, the puppet ruler of Scotland, she sees life closing in. Then, as silent as the night shadows, Highlanders come. She’s whisked away. Once more she has no say about what they do to or with her.

Laird Broen MacNichols wants justice for his family. He wants to keep the Highlander clans from feuding among themselves so they can stand together against the Royalists. He’s a blue-eyed giant of a man, smart, brave, a man of honor—not a barbarian like Clarissa had been told. He causes her to have “wicked, carnal thoughts”. He’s temptation. The male spouse has issues with sperm count or lack of libido? Still looking for an easy solution? Yet, she cannot give her trust even though she respects him for giving her a choice. Her virginity is all she owns and he lets her choose to whom and when she will give it.

The many strong secondary characters make the Highlander’s Prize rich with sub-plots. It seems everyone has his or her own agenda. Edme, who runs Broen’s household at Deigh Tower holds a unique place and gives wise council to Clarissa. Edme tells the young Englishwoman that there is a huge difference between being considered property of a man and sharing delights of being loved by a man. Another unusual character is Daphne. Her story brings out amazing truths about what lengths some will go to for true love and friendship. Oh, my, how tangled and secretive some of the lives are in this multi-layered story.

The antagonists, some less evil than others, but all threatening, create scary, heart-stopping happenings that make one wonder how in the world the hero and heroine will get out alive much less find their way to a happy-ever-after.

Mary Wine does a fantastic job of weaving together a very troubled time in history, amazing descriptions of Scottish castles, the unyielding environment of the Highlands, and horror of battlefields. She engages all the reader’s senses and pulls the readers into the time, place and action of the incredible characters. She weaves in the Scottish humor, sense of honor, Highland culture, beliefs, and fealty to clan. Best of all, she makes the reader feel the primal, sexual attraction of the hero and heroine. She delights with their posturing and their challenging each other as they find their way to awesome love that sparks and sparkles. Societal rules create trials and troubles for them, but their love transcends all and even reaches out to help others have and hold their own true loves.

Highlander’s Prize is another Mary Wine historical for the book shelf—a keeper to be enjoyed more than once.

This is New Species, book five…and the “Brilliance” continues!
This is one of my favorite series right now!

Laurann Dohner continues to “outshine” all other stars in the galaxy of sci-fi/romance novelist. One of my favorite writers, Ms. Dohner does not disappoint her followers but continues to grace the world with wonderful tales of steamy yet dramatic fiction!

When Brawn is added to the task-force who helps rescue lost New Species still being held prisoner, he becomes the first New Species to live outside of the confines of Homeland or Reservation. With the continual threat of hot-headed bigots and extremist protesting outside the gates demanding the New Species should be destroyed, I knew this scenario couldn’t possibly lead to anything good.

Brawn finds himself sharing a house with Becca, the daughter of the leader of the task-force. Immediately there was an electrical attraction between these two, despite the fact Brawn has promised himself he wouldn’t become involved with a human female. Laurann Dohner has struck gold with her New Species series! I’ve been following this series from the beginning and I recommend if you possibly can, read the series from the beginning. You’ll receive a richer understanding and overall enjoyment. The characters are extremely well written and I couldn’t help but be pulled into this compelling fictional reality. Ms Dohner paints for us a colorful picture of heated romance among conflict and struggle.

Brawn’s story is extremely emotional and suspenseful! He’s the ultimate sexy alpha male whom no one can help but love. His sense of courage, loyalty, protectiveness and compassion made this reader want to snatch up a New Species mate for herself. I love the fact that even though they are part animal DNA and part human, they have insecurities and flaws. The scenarios created in these stories definitely have the heat level of a fiery furnace. The secondary characters are wonderful and I found myself pulled into their lives as well.

I cannot say enough about this book and this series. If you have not experienced any of Laurann Dohner’s works of written art yet, than I recommend rushing out and reading this series. You might just find yourself fantasizing about your own New Species mate!

But since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn’t been feeling right. Something dark has begun to grow in her mind, and ghostly shadows warn of a terrible evil drawing nearer to the Academy’s iron gates. And now that Lissa and Rose’s sworn enemy, Victor Dashkov, is on trial for his freedom, tensions in the Moroi world are higher than ever.

Lying to Lissa about Dimitri is one thing, but suddenly there’s way more than friendship at stake. The immortal undead are on the prowl, and they want vengeance for the lives that Rose has stolen. In a heart-stopping battle to rival her worst nightmares, Rose will have to choose between life, love, and the two people who matter most . . . but will her choice mean that only one can survive?

Life’s never been simple for dhampir Rose Hathaway. Now, while mourning the loss of her long-time friend, Mason, and contemplating her upcoming graduation, things are more complicated than ever before. And when you add in her undeniable love for fellow guardian and instructor, Dimitri Belikov, Rose’s life at St. Vladimir’s is just downright insane. And about to get much, much worse…

However, these are the traits that, if developed and used properly, will make her into an exceptional guardian in the future. I have to admit, although she’s still a bit headstrong and inflexible, she’s learned a lot and has grown even more over these first three novels. In Shadow Kiss, she’s forced to face reality on more than one occasion and learn to deal with – and even accept – the kind of horrible things that happen in her world. Not an easy road for a seventeen-year-old, even if she is half-vampire.

Dimitri, despite himself, really starts to loosen up around Rose and lets more of the real him show. I really enjoyed getting to know Dimitri better and learning just a touch about his non-guardian side. He’s the quintessential guardian – he’s strong, dedicated, and he’s learned to put all else second to his charge, no matter how tempting that distraction might be. To allow Rose into his life like he has, even knowing that it’s the last thing any sane guardian would do, takes a lot of courage – and trust in Rose’s abilities. I know he’s the major reason for her successful progression as a guardian. His belief that she can do and be all they expect of her forces her to focus and prove Dimitri right. They make a great team when they work together.

Shadow Kiss is an excellent follow up to Frostbite, carrying on the story and pulling the reader deeper into the world of the Moroi and dhampir. You learn a little bit about everyone in this third installment and you can definitely find growth across the board with all the major characters. I loved how the author took time to focus some on Lissa’s use and development of her spirit magic as well. I am very excited to move on to the next book in the series, especially after the shocking ending of this one!

At age seventeen, Jenny Reid was arrested for killing her own mother. There was no evidence that an intruder entered the house. No one believed her as a teenager when she tried to tell them how she felt the killer’s rage saturated within the walls, that she knew the presence of evil had been there. The police thought she was crazy, not psychic.

A conviction was never made in the case due to lack of evidence. Jenny is still the sole suspect, but now, she is doing something about it. She’s on the right side of the law, an FBI agent determined to finally find justice for her mom.

Two men stay by her side—William, her partner, a darkly intense agent with a scary past and Nate, a bad boy with too much charisma to be a good thing. But, no man will keep her from finding out the truth about her mom. The time has come to set things right.

Nothing will stand in her way. She’ll come up close with evil again and face the ultimate choice—kill or be killed in these ACCELERATING CIRCUMSTANCES.

But she also hides from a gift others try to seek her help with by using that gift. Jenny’s character is shrouded by mystery, and uncovering it was one of the best things about this book.

Jenny’s love interest seems to have caught someone’s attention. Women are dropping dead, and the suspicion appears to fall on Nate. I liked Nate from the start. He makes a good hero, and he challenges Jenny in many ways.

Accelerating Circumstances also follows other characters. I noticed this was book three in a series, and I wonder about some of the references in the book with previous situations are featured in the others. I found myself a bit lost at times because it seemed I was jumping in the middle of things not fully explained.

Other than that, I enjoyed Accelerating Circumstances. The suspense kept me turning the pages, and there’s not a moment in the story that sagged. The author did a great job with the setting and scene descriptions, and the characters looked out for one another. It seemed each person who played a role in the book had connections to someone else. There was also parts in the book written from the perspective of a villain, though it didn’t give away who it was at all, which made it even more interesting.

If you’re a fan or romantic suspense with a small paranormal element, then this is a great book to read. Though you may want to look for the first two books in the series if you like to read in order. The other books are Altered Beginnings and Predetermined Endings.
