In the face of Human slavery, Back Sword Captain Ariela of Kassouk must do the unthinkable. Rebel against the Mutant regime. But she cannot do it alone.

Ariela suspects the king’s death is no accident. And the tyrant who usurped the throne looks guilty as hell. As leader of the Human rebellion against their Mutant rulers, Ariela is desperate for help, and Lord Starro, the handsome Crown Prince of the Star Children, offers the technology the Human faction lacks. But can Ariela trust a spoiled, arrogant foreign prince who never fought a battle, and thinks he is destined to rule the universe? Is she trading one tyrant for another? No matter how kind, handsome, or fascinating, Starro has frightening mental abilities. And this alliance is not safe, especially for Ariela’s heart.

With her civilization crumbling around her Ariela finds herself in alliance with an unlikely alien candidate Prince Starro of the Star Children. Can they put a stop to the revolution coming and what of the intense and forbidden feelings they have for each other.

Ms. Schartz brings us front and center into a vaguely familiar alien world whose landscapes are foreign to us earthlings and yet familiar enough not to need a glossary to understand her imaginative and creative world. She further creates memorable characters that although at times seem a bit one-dimensional at others shine brightly — and none brighter than her hero Starro and her heroine Ariela who really rule the pages throughout the novel.

Her narrative dragged a bit at the beginning but the further along I read the more engaged in the story I became until by the end I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I partly blame myself by not having read the series before therefore not having insight into her world that may have better paved my way into this installment of her Chronicles of Kassouk.

Her love story is a favorite of mine: forbidden love that finds a way to survive and succeed. Her love scenes are muted enough that they will not offend any true romance reader and yet sensual enough to make the most avid reader of the genre satisfied as well.

All in all this was a very enjoyable read and it’s made me want to not only go back to read the first three but I am now looking forward to her next adventure in these chronicles.

If you love the science fiction genre, especially one with a great romance, this will fit the bill. It did for me.

Thank you Ms. Schartz for a journey I won’t forget and look forward to making again in the not too distant future.

But when she awakens tied to his bed, an unwilling gift to Ivan from the townspeople, she discovers he has hungers other than blood. Hungers he expects her to satisfy in the most carnal manner. We’re told a little about the natural disaster that seems to have gripped the whole country, and what’s going through her mind as she watches Ivan and knowing what she’s committed to.

The story has a very unique feel to it. Descriptions and pacing are both perfect, the writing smooth, the plot fascinating. It has you wondering what will happen next. And I should add that’s it’s also full of heat and tension.

It’s said that when opportunity knocks on your door, you have only one chance to take it.

No one said what you’re supposed to do when it kicks it.

All Rebecca MacDonnell wants to do is get through high school with grades good enough to win a prestigious scholarship so that she can finally leave her miserable life behind. One evening, after a particularly bad day, she finds out that people other than her aging grandmother need her help, and desperately so.

Well, not “people,” exactly. Vampires, werewolves, demons, ghosts, goblins, and other things thought only imaginary all need help sometime, and Rebecca was born with the unique ability to heal ethereal beings. She is about to turn seventeen, the age at which her talent will manifest in its entirety, and become a true Healer…if she lives through the event. A war between various ethereal factions is brewing, and Healers are a valuable commodity to any side. Those who wish to harness Rebecca’s manifesting healing powers for their own purposes must get to her before her seventeenth birthday.

Only two vampires and a rogue werewolf stand between Rebecca and those determined to make her serve them, and the fact that Rebecca has no clue what she’s doing doesn’t exactly help matters.

Neither does being seriously attracted to more than one of those just trying to protect her.

For a soon-to-be seventeen-year-old Healer-in-training, that’s a lot to handle.

Especially on top of her homework.

Doesn’t every teenager want to think they’re special? To think that something big and amazing is in written in the stars for them? And if they are fanciful, maybe even something supernatural? Rebecca, who is the outcast of her school…that one girl that almost nobody likes, finds out just how special she is. Literally overnight, after an exceedingly lousy day, she learns that the world is, in fact, populated with vampires, werewolves, demons, ghosts and any manner of other supernatural beings that you can think of. And the kicker is that she is some super powerful healer of all of these beings.

I started this book during a brief break from my work, during a week of insanely chaotic early deadlines, where time is short and days are long. My intention was only to read a few pages and get back to work. Then I started this book and had a difficult time putting it down. Luckily, I work from home with no boss looking over my shoulder, so the remainder of the evening was spent with my eReader propped in front of my keyboard. The book snagged me from page one and kept me hooked right up to the last page.

The beginning puts us in the principal’s office where, completely out of character, Rebecca and her one friend, are getting in trouble and being assigned detention. We also get to see the “bad boy” of the school, Ryan, start taking an interest in her – much to Rebecca’s shock. Later that night Ryan shows up at her door, unconscious, and in the arms of a drop dead gorgeous vampire. From that point on, we get to meet demons, werewolves (or Anubi), hellhounds and garden faeries, among other things. The problem is that viagra ordination some women will take it as an insult. There are a lot of men who have been suffering from deeprootsmag.org commander levitra erectile dysfunction or impotence, there are plenty of species of fish present in abundance in Miami. The description that Ms. James gives of some of these creatures is unique and interesting. From the vampire’s eyes to the hellhounds, the author brought a new and fun twist to the genre – something not easily done in the over-saturated paranormal market.

If I had to choose a favorite character from the book, it would probably be Billy, Rebecca’s resident bodyguard, and an Anubi. Billy is absolutely hilarious throughout the book, bringing some fun to the story and many laugh out loud moments. He is fond of Rebecca, and treats her like a kid sister, when he’s not eating or going on about his mustang. When Billy first makes an appearance, Rebecca compares him to a football player (with lots of brawn), and from that moment on the stereotypes kept rolling through my head with Billy. All of the main characters, though, stole my heart. Especially the hot, mysterious vampire, Sydney. His aloof, yet caring and compassionate reserve made me want to know more about him and once I did, he made me melt.

The character development of this book, with so many different characters as well as different races, is very well done. Throughout the book, the author shows us how the different races interact with each other, what makes them different from each other and gives them each their own personalities. Even a couple of the secondary, little seen characters are very memorable.

Well written, with compelling characters and non-stop action, this is one book that’s not to be missed. I can’t wait for the second book in this series and it’s definitely going on my watch list. If you enjoy this genre, I would definitely check this one out.

Neva had to face her insecurities and her new partner at the same time. What chance does her resolve have when Archer’s very presence has her wound up?

Escaping through her workshop tunnel, Neva is less than impressed to find that her proposed partner was the one sent to rescue her and the Citadel staff.

She has managed to dodge her offered position in the Sector Guard for over two years and when Archer comes to save her, she knows that her time to think about it is over.

Archer is bewildered that a woman like Neva keeps turning him down. He’s ridiculously handsome, has an impressive talent and is a charming conversationalist. What more could a woman want?

The Sector Guard continues to grow and prosper as Viola Grace finds more adventures for them to embark upon. There are only a couple more books to this series, and I will be sorry to see the end of this part of the series.

As a Winder, Neva Corren uses her talent to escape with her charges when the Raiders attack the Citadel. She can manipulate string or wire to her needs, and even use it as a weapon if needed. She has declined offers of a Sector Guard position for two years, but now she has no other choice if she wants to get herself and the rest out safely.

As she takes her group of empaths and sensitives out through the tunnels, she warns them they may have to fight. She realizes someone in the village, someone wanting at least one of them captured or dead, betrayed them. She is not looking forward to meeting up with the man she knows will be her partner, either, but turning down the Sector Guard this time could be dangerous for those she is protecting as well as herself. If only Archer wasn’t so insufferably smug, things may have been different. She is attracted to him, but not ready to just jump into his arms, no matter how delicious he looks. To the contrary, it is definitely small acts of cute-n-tiny.com viagra rx random kindness that opens the guts and soothe vessel issues. He is quite the catch, and he is supremely sure of himself.

Can these two very opposite personalities find common ground and work together? When treachery and danger threaten, can they finally become the team Commander foresaw and finish the task at hand? Can they find out who is behind the attacks that are becoming more frequent every day?

As with all of Ms Grace’s books, the world here is unique and full of rare and unusual species, with a multitude of talents. There is a bit more danger and intrigue in this one, as the Raiders have stepped up their attacks in their search for talents to capture and use for their own, less than honorable goals.

Neva Corren is a Winder, able to weave anything needed from simple items usually overlooked by people. She was reluctant to become active with the Guard, in part because of her attraction to Archer, her proposed partner and mate. She is never far from danger, and is usually found running straight into the middle of any fight or disaster. I loved her attitude toward Archer: she knows she wants him, but she isn’t ready to overlook his smug and arrogant temperament just yet. She also hides something about herself that makes her sure he will turn away from her when he knows the truth.

Brav Welkin, or Archer, is strong, brave and absolutely gorgeous. He is self confident, and doesn’t understand Neva’s attitude toward him at all. He has an unusual talent, using bioelectrical energy to form his weapon of choice, a bow and arrow, hence the code name Archer. I like his determination to do what it takes to be the best partner for Neva, and I love him for his ability to see past what she considers her ‘disfigurement’ to the woman inside.

There are several very dangerous missions for these two before they are able to settle into their roles as partners. There is a second rescue of personnel from Yski to accomplish, and a trio of escaped murderers to find. But the best action is the time spent between Neva and Brav as they finally become partners, then friends and, finally lovers while on Station 13.

There is a bit of mental trauma they will need to come to terms with, but this has all the signs of being another happy ever after in the Sector Guard. A great read.

It’s an intriguing plot, but the writing is at times distant and vague. Also, for a short story, it is often wordy. The Dead Speak is not a romance per se but will be of interest to those looking for a short paranormal filled with suspense. Riley is an interesting character and does some good things at the end of the story and he meets someone new. This tale is a good, quick little read.

Alpha female Serena Goldwolf has spent a lifetime vowing never to be a submissive mate to any Alpha male. But all it takes is one surprisingly sexual meeting with Damien Blackwolf, a dissatisfied client of her shapeshifter dating site Predator-Match.com, and she’s down on all fours, wanting to be mounted by the hottest male on two legs—or four—whom she’s ever met.

Damien Blackwolf doesn’t understand why the voluptuous Serena won’t admit they’re True Mates. To convince her, he decides to bring out her baser desires by dragging her off to someplace private to get to know her…intimately. But how can he convince her of their destiny when she runs away from him? Guess he’ll just have to hunt her down and persuade her.

In a passionate battle of wills, there most definitely can be two winners.

Serena is an accomplished, independent alpha in her own right. She shudders at the thought of letting a man dictate to her, which is part of the reason she’s surrounded herself with betas and omegas, both in business and in the bedroom. After a scarring experience earlier in her young life, Serena harbors deep insecurities, the likes of which have shaped the woman she is today. She likes control too much to give it up to anyone, but she underestimated the power of a True Mate’s need to submit. Especially to a conceited, arrogant Alpha who’s intent on owning her.

Damien is Alpha with a capital “A” and he’s looking to Mate with one woman forever. Damien knows it’s a “now or never situation” with Serena’s heat condition, but he wants forever and will use any means necessary to get it.

Serena and Damien are the epitome of Alpha characters. Both are shrewd in business, but when it comes to matters of the heart they show their vulnerabilities. Serena is also very insecure about being voluptuous. The push and pull of their relationship is evenly paced throughout the story and makes this quick read that much faster, as the does the intense and arousing sex scenes found throughout. There is a slight scene of public exhibitionism that doesn’t go all the way, but it’s enough to make you think they just might have if not for an interruption.

My only complaint is with the ending — I think that needed to be extended. Other interesting secondary characters both good and bad make appearances that lead me to believe there is still much to explore in this erotic world of shape-shifters and I look forward to a sequel.

I loved it and will definitely be back for more from this talented author!

Gwen Walberg, literature teacher and self-professed geek, is thrilled to acquire a priceless antique book but soon learns why it came so cheap. The book contains the ghost of Violetta, its former owner, who spices up her boring afterlife by playing matchmaker. Gwen is her new target—and if she won’t cooperate, Violetta is prepared to throw a storm of dangerous tantrums. Rather than give up the treasured book, Gwen reluctantly surrenders, and learns Violetta has already chosen the man for her: Gwen’s gorgeous gardener and friend, Paul Chang.

Paul is stunned that a ghost wants to cast him as a romance hero but intrigued enough to cooperate. Step by awkward step, Paul and Gwen allow their weird voyeur to force them into compromising positions. But what if the unlikely couple starts enjoying their bizarre, steamy situation? Can they ever cultivate a healthy relationship with an unstable ghost tagging along?

She was so excited to find this really rare book on sale for $75. All she could think was that the seller didn’t realize its value. She didn’t know it housed a resident ghost…

Gwen’s a literature professor at the local college; Paul is her hired gardener. Neither thought the other person would be interested in them. This author demonstrates what can happen if you actually take the time to talk to one other — there is generally more to a person than what you see in front you. Violetta, our ghost, is determined to experience passion and love and she thinks these two are perfect for each other. It all starts with a small kiss…

The absolutely ridiculous things the ghost demands from the couple kept me chuckling. Especially as they keep trying to figure out how to get rid of her so they actually can get to know each other better. The author shows them embarrassing themselves, getting fretful about the ghost, and suddenly worrying about how natural being with each other feels. It sounds like some relationships I’ve been in but I didn’t have a ghost to worry about.

I love how Ms. Ringle creates one of the silliest ghosts you can imagine and then at the end turns Gwen’s Uncle into someone she’s not sure she even wants to know. You know, that TMI (too much information) thing. It’s all in good fun and made me laugh.

I like this one a lot and am buying my own copy of it to keep. Why don’t you get one, too? I bet you laugh through the whole story. I know I did.

Clint Chavez, part owner of Rawhide, was determined to never again involve himself emotionally in a relationship. But neither expected the fireworks that erupted between them, nor the erotic attraction that would bind them together despite their best efforts.

Clint Chavez, co-owner of the sexual fetish club, Rawhide finds himself secretly watching through a peep hole every night at the wildly sexy woman he can’t get out of his mind as she engages in experienced and exacting sexual domination of a most willing and enthusiastic male sub. She has chosen the most handsome, desirable man in her room to be her partner during her visits to Rawhide. Clint, a natural submissive, is enthralled and obsessed, wishing it were him.

Clint and Montana find their way to a start. But is it enough for these two hurt people to find healing in their need for each other… and their acceptance of that need? The sex is amazing and as hot as it gets. The passion is intense and undeniable…but will it overcome the fear that threatens to drive them apart?

I like the way that this couple’s only chance for happiness depends on breaking through their walls of protection to a place of trust. It’s plain that this is a difficult struggle, especially for Clint, but one worth the risk. Bite the Bullet is aptly named in my opinion because the characters, each in their own way, had to face their pain and take up the fearful challenge to open their hearts fully and surrender to their love.

I wanted this story to be longer. I wanted to see more of the mental (and physical) action going on before Clint and Montana got together the first time…and a little more background about their sexual roles. But this was still a complete story that is not to be missed.

Desiree Holt’s work keeps getting better and better! I recommend that you pick up a copy of Bite the Bullet today.

Although Colin Livingswell has never seen Eve Hume, he knows more of her heart than any of her admirers. The Earl is determined to show Eve with his words and actions he is worthy of her—but the villain stalking him endangers them both.

Will Colin trust Eve and her family with his dangerous secret in time to save himself? Will Eve trust her heart to view him differently from all her other suitors? For both of them, beauty truly must be in the eyes of the beholder.
