What writer doesn’t remember their first byline? The very first time they see their names in print. For me, this special event was my name atop an article for the monthly magazine of a non-profit I worked for. The article was about a new breast cancer screening program in our area. The breast self-exam was just emerging as a detection measure against the disease and was being taught to patients. The purpose of my story would be to educate the public in general, and members of the medical profession in particular about the availability of the new effort.

Conducting the research was simple. I made an appointment, told them my purpose, and they were thrilled at the chance for some publicity. Though it was a little odd to conduct part of the interview while topless and having my breasts examined, I found actually experiencing the procedure to be more efficient than taking notes while someone talked to me about it.

I’ve been fortunate since to have had many more articles, short stories and romance novels bear my byline. However, seeing my words and name in print when the article was published a few days later was a thrill I will never forget. As with many of our life events, the first time is always special.

British born Honey DeHaviland wanted one night of passion before she saved her widowed father, a Greek scholar, from financial ruin by entering into a loveless marriage. Who would have thought that the stranger who gave her that passion would be the very man who was to ferry her to Crete to marry another? The journey proved fateful, for Honey fell in love. But she couldn’t afford to marry a penniless man, and from what she could see, her dream man was truly penniless. When she accidentally learned that he was, indeed, wealthy and he proposed marriage, how could she accept without appearing shallow and mercenary? Her refusal is the finest performance she has ever given.

Nick Stamos, born in Greece but educated in Boston, used his boat to transport goods from island to island, mostly as a favor to the locals. Although he rarely spoke of his true wealth, he owned a vast vineyard on Santorini and was a prosperous man. But when a soft-spoken professor asked him to bring his daughter to Crete to marry a wealthy Greek, Nick found himself face to face with the very woman he had “saved” from two drunken sailors the night before. Their night of passion was one he would never forget. And when he learns the reason for her arranged marriage, he wants to make her his own. Her refusal makes him question many things. Could he have been so wrong about her feelings for him?

Through hot, sultry days and warm, Mediterranean nights, the lovers ignore their ill-fated destinies and revel in the sizzling, sultry depths of their passion.

Widowed and in need of gratification, Honey gives in to her lust for a sea captain who rescues her from two thugs late one night. Nick Stamos is a love ‘em and leave ’em kind of man but he becomes quickly intrigued by the woman he had in his arms for one night. Waking up the next morning to find her gone he decides to visit her home, telling her father that he just wanted to make sure Honey was alright. The trip turns into an exciting experience for both Honey and Nick as they explore each other and learn new ways to pleasure each other. It becomes a love story through and through with a few bumps to overcome.

This was quite a lovely but hot read. The characters are fun and understandable. Honey is a very lustful and inquisitive woman and Nick is a very willing teacher. I enjoyed how they would used words against each to titillate and the love scenes were scorching.

I’d recommend this read to anyone! Especially those who love to read long love scenes that get the blood flowing.

Brett Ryerson knows that Julie Merritt, his first love, is planning to marry a real creep. To convince Julie her fiancé, Warren, is the wrong man, Brett “borrows” her for several days. He plans to introduce her to a few key players from Warren’s past—and prove to her she’s making a huge mistake.

Julie, on the other hand, has her own reasons for going along with Brett’s wild plan. Truthfully, she never completely forgot her first love, and the more time they spend together, the closer she is drawn to him.

When danger threatens, Brett realizes he doesn’t want to let her go.

Can this borrowed bride become a permanent wife?

We’ve all heard the term something borrowed, something blue, etc. Usually it’s the bride that does the borrowed, blue, old and new. In this case, however, it’s the bride that’s being borrowed! Not just by anyone, however. The “Borrower” happens to be her ex boyfriend, Brett. He sweeps into her life years after their relationship is over, warning her she needs to know some critical information about the man she’s engaged to marry.

Okay, so it’s a little strange, odd even, for Brett to be showing up like this, wanting to whisk her away to meet some people. But Julie will go with it- for now. These fights create gaps between relationships and sometimes levitra 10 mg http://appalachianmagazine.com/2016/07/05/tornado-reported-near-tornado-wva/ create huge misunderstandings. With each person Brett takes Julie to see, he anxiously awaits her thoughts. It’s not as if he’s trying to ruin her engagement, or at least, not without honest reasons. What does he know, and what do these people know about Warren that’s so important for Julie to know?

With plenty of intrigue and great pacing, Borrowing the Bride takes the reader on a whirlwind ride. The characters that each play a role in the story are quirky and realistic. Julie and Brett make a dynamic pair, and the fact that they have such a history keeps it entertaining. The question stays with me in each chapter. What’s going to happen? What secrets are going to be revealed? What choices will Julie make after hearing these stories? There are plenty of obstacles to get through before Brett and Julie’s happily ever after.

Some of the conflict and untold secrets are a bit weak, but not enough to make for a bad ending. Overall it’s enjoyable anda good book. If you like reading about a hero and heroine that have shared a past and have a second chance, then add Borrowing the Bride to your list of books to read.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire…

Since 9/11, Brooklyn firefighter Griff Muir has wrestled with impossible feelings for his best friend and partner at Ladder 181, Dante Anastagio. Unfortunately, Dante is strictly a ladies’ man, and the FDNY isn’t exactly gay-friendly. For ten years, Griff has hidden his heart in a half-life of public heroics and private anguish.

Griff’s caution and Dante’s cockiness make them an unbeatable team. To protect his buddy, there’s nothing Griff wouldn’t do… until a nearly bankrupt Dante proposes the worst possible solution: HotHead.com, a gay porn website where uniformed hunks get down and dirty. And Dante wants them to appear there—together. Griff may have to guard his heart and live out his darkest fantasies on camera. Can he rescue the man he loves without wrecking their careers, their families, or their friendship?

Talk about steamy hot men and lots of emotion! You’ve got it and more in Hot Head.

This story revolves a great deal around 9-11 and I’ve got to say it really adds to the story. The work is written in an exuberant, fast-paced manner. I couldn’t put it down once I picked it up. Damon Suede writes a great mix of comedy and heart. I felt like I was right there, practically inside Griff’s skin as he dealt with his life and feelings. The branded generic cialis on line is well known for the ages. commander levitra When erectile dysfunction develops in persons with diabetes, it is considered that diabetes is behind the elbow. I’m a fan of the friends-to-lovers sub genre of romance. I love seeing the development and Damon Suede doesn’t disappoint. What could be overdone and over the top comes off as realistic. Who hasn’t struggled with telling the love of one’s life just how one feels? It’s palpable in this story.

I have to add there is a lot of Griff’s side of the story in this book. He’s got a lot to deal with–his past, his treatment by coworkers…his feelings for Dante. I really got to know this character. Now, I will say I wanted to know more about Dante, from his point of view. His portion of the story, not seen through Griff’s eyes, was a little quick, but it didn’t take away from the overall tale. I mean, this is Griff’s struggle to deal with.

And sex? Oh my…I had to find a fan and a cool drink… It was so worth it. Damon Suede’s writing really shines when Griff and Dante get horizontal.

Betrayed by her brother’s lies, Catriona MacKenzie is banished from her Edinburgh home to her godmother’s remote manor in the Highlands. While her father ponders her fate, Catriona’s insatiable curiosity leads her straight into trouble–and into the arms of a notorious Highlander.

Five years after an ill-fated Jacobite rebellion, Rory Cameron works as a smuggler to raise money for the cause–until Catriona uncovers a plot against him and exposes his activities. Now Rory is faced with a decision that could save their lives or destroy them both.

Taken away from her privileged life in Edinburgh because of her brother Angus setting her up then lying to her parents, Catriona MacKenzie finds herself in the harsh Scottish Highlands and soon tangled up with life-threatening intrigues that she knows nothing about. Her curiosity puts her and others in danger that escalates into suffering for all of them.

The compelling, big, handsome Highlander Rory Cameron, who is a distant relative of Aunt Meg, Catriona’s godmother whom she has been sent to live with, is attracted to the tall, black-haired, amber-eyed Catriona. But when he learns her identity, he is hostile toward her even though his body roars to life with desire every time he sees or even thinks about her. However, Rory’s clandestine “business” takes precedents over his personal needs. His efforts to scare her away nearly get her killed. His rejection of her erodes Catriona’s sense of self-worth even more making her feel that “nobody wants her”.

The despicable brother Angus and his cohort John Henderson are master manipulators and make life miserable for her and the Highlanders that have weapons hidden that Angus and John want. Since I always long for a strong, capable heroine, I kept hoping Catriona would do more constructive planning and ecome more capable of getting out of tight situations without having to be rescued again and again. However, her character does gain some depth as the plot unfolds. Her true concern for Aunt Meg and her desperate love for Rory shines through. Also her comparison of life in Edinburgh to life in the Highlands reveals a change in her values and her ability to judge what is worthwhile and what is frivolous in life.

Cathie Dunn’s descriptions of the magnificent, unpredictable Scottish Highlands and Catriona’s sense of belonging there is remarkable.. Ms. Dunn’s description of the squalid part of Edinburgh in the early eighteen century assails the senses—one can almost smell the fetid filth and feel the dankness that enshrouds the narrow dark alleys that are so different from the section of Edinburgh where Catriona’s family lived.

With the help of friends, Rory and Catriona find their happy-ever-after as their beloved Highlands moves into a new era with new challenges.

Wildlife photographer Sarah Whitaker has an obsession with lions. When she hears there’s a dangerous, elusive, majestic, man-eating pride living in the heart of the Serengeti, she wastes no time in tracking them down. Funny thing, when she finally finds them, one particular lion seems to love posing for her camera.

Keto Rarh is amused when he finds out he has a stalker. Usually, he loves toying with humans, chasing and scaring the hell out of them. But this generously-curved black beauty makes him ache in all the bad places. She has a pretty smile, too. Exotic face. And ample flesh he can’t wait to get his hands on to. Maybe it was time for him to settle down with a mate.

Sarah’s too busy paparazzing the noble creature to realize the rules of the game have suddenly changed and that the stalker has become the stalked…

“You have a fan” is the opening statement to a delightful albeit short story. I’d read the excerpt and wanted it. He is like a hurricane when he steps into Sarah’s cabin after seeing her taking pictures of him in his lion form on the Serengeti. Talk about a man that can sweep a girl off her feet! Keto is all male and purring cat, albeit a big cat.

I spent so much time laughing at the characters and their antics. However, I need to add that if I came face to face with a lion I would not cream my panties as Sarah did. Wet them, maybe! But that is one of the exciting things about reading paranormal romance right?

I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a short but good shifter book with a cute and entertaining plot. I will never look at a big cat on the internet without remembering a few of the details from this book.

When Dr. Cameron Dalton agrees to treat an entire pack of shifters dying from a form of parvo, he has no idea that he’ll be getting more than he bargained for. He definitely doesn’t expect to be peed on by an adorable golden retriever puppy upon arrival. A bit stunned, Cameron can’t believe the sexy little man is his mate.

Quaid Sedgwick is excited to see that his best friend, Toby, has returned. But when he catches the most delicious smell and follows it to an equally delicious-looking man, instinct kicks in, and Quaid pees on the man, claiming him as his mate.

Cameron comes to learn Quaid is hiding something from him, and he suspects the worst. But is he jumping to conclusions, or is Quaid just not the mate Cameron was led to believe?

As soon as I finished reading this story, I just wanted to turn back to page one and start all over again. While the story may have been over, I was not ready to leave these mesmerizing characters.

Reading Quaid’s background almost brought me to tears. Not only was his story tragic but the author had me so emotionally attached to his character I felt as if he was a real friend of mind instead of just a character in a story. Then when Cameron failed to recognize what Quaid needed I was as infuriated as the secondary characters within this story. Luckily for Cameron he and Quaid were able to work out their problems and have their happily ever after, because if not I was jumping in the story and smacking him on the back of his head.

This does not mean that I did not like Cameron’s character. I had to learn why he reacted the way he did to situations, which really explained a lot. I was happy the author gave me the information needed to enjoy his character as much as Quaid’s. No relationship is perfect, no man or woman is perfect, and we get to see this in Cameron. It made is character more believable and drew me even deeper within the story.

I did not have the privilege of reading the first installment of this series, but after getting introduced to the characters of the first story I immediately added it to my must read list. While I felt the biggest connection to the main characters, the supporting characters were just as entertaining. Little things like Toby slapping Carmeron made me get to know the supporting characters and anticipate their involvement within the storyline.

The relationship development within this story was consistent and entertaining. I was drawn into the relationship from page one and never felt detached. The antagonistic conflict within this story also added an extra bonus. I would have liked to see a little more of a dramatic climax in the antagonistic conflict. It seemed to have been solved a little too easily for me. This antagonistic conflict is also, why I labeled this a forced seduction. While the sexual act was not completed the antagonists did try to force themselves on one of the main characters, and it is mentioned that they have done so in the characters past. Even so, I still thoroughly enjoyed this story and would read it again, and recommend it to everyone I know who reads erotica.

In this third installment of Chase’s lively, sexy, paranormal trilogy, we meet witch Morgaine, who is deathly afraid of the dark, and her vigilante vampire neighbor Sly, who has his reasons for hating sunlight. Sly needs Morgaine’s magic to help heal a broken fang, but with further help, and sometimes hindrance, from the wacky apartment dwellers around them, they may become each other’s last hope for a normal life…

An apartment building full of supernatural creatures is bound to be a riot. When one supernatural moves out it seems like another moves right in, and when they move into the “love shack” sparks are guaranteed to fly.

Morgaine seems to be an unlikely mate of a vampire with her agoraphobia (fear of public places or leaving safe places) and nyctophobia (fear of the dark). Therefore, when she fancies the owner of the building’s vampire papa she is more than a bit confused. It could never work can it?

Morgaine seemed to be the glue that helps things together throughout the story. She definitely keeps her cousin Gwyneth in line, and even the other residents in the building seem to come to her with their problems. Sly was no exception to this, he could think of no one else to help him in his piling issues. She may have suffered a few phobias but she was definitely one of the strongest characters throughout the story. One thing I do regret is not getting to know more about her background story. I know she suffered years ago which caused her to not date for a long time; I would have just liked to have learned more about that incident.

Especially with a daughter married to an athlete, he could have easily just let them take care of him. Moreover, he is somewhat of a tortured soul, with the tragic way he was forced to become a vampire and deal with the consequences for the rest of his life. Luckily, with Morgaine by his side he can find a little relief from his vampire vices as well as a little relief for his manly needs.

While I found the characters within this story entertaining, the plot was just a little on the dry side. I would like to have seen the plotline with Sly’s maker drawn out a little longer and a more climactic. It seemed to end a little too easily. The wine/whiskey making was the plot that really carried the story for me. I was just as excited to see a good mixture as well as the characters in the story.

The characters, whether they are main or supporting, really drive this story. With entertaining supernatural creatures around every corner this story is a real hoot, growl, spell and whatever else supernatural creatures do.

Princess Charity Mossano of Milan is the Chosen One. She is forced to remain in hiding as a magical rogue wolf named Devlon continues to hunt her. He wants to mate her to gain her powers, destroy the circle of elders, and rule the world. She establishes Caliber, a security firm, to protect the last Royal were family, the Venificus triplets. Maximus, Luther, and Dante are individually powerful and dominant males. They get what they want and are superior in battle, in wealth, and in charm.

Fate leads Charity to the Royal Venificus estate. She realizes that the three handsome, powerful royal Alphas are her mates. While there, someone Devlon is working with attempts to kill Dante. She reveals herself and the battle of all times begins. With the help of her spirit sisters, Lexi and Antoinette, along with their Alpha mates, Charity must fight the evil villains and save the world.

The final conflict in the ultimate paranormal battle royal is about to begin. It will bring together weres, Fae knights, vampires, a goddess, the last remaining royal were family, the Venificus triplets and at long last The Chosen One.

Were Love Conquers All is the third in the Were Trilogy series. The stories began with Lexi discovering her own inner strength with the help of her mates Paul, Sabre and Andre in Were Love Found Her. Book two, Were She Belongs, joined Antoinette together with Luke, Brad, Jacob and Troy. Without giving away too much in case you haven’t read the first two books, Lexi and Antoinette discover they have a connection that will only be complete when The Chosen One is revealed.

Ms. Dwyer knows how to build suspense and anticipation! She teases just enough in the first two books to have readers impatiently waiting for the final installment. It did not disappoint.

Princess Charity Massano has been in hiding since the fateful night her parents were viciously murdered. She has always known that she would one day have to face the evil that has tried to capture her and steal her powers. As with Lexi and Antoinette, Charity wasn’t meant to do battle alone. With the help of her fated mates, the very powerful Venificus triplets Maximus, Luther and Dante, Charity learns that there is strength in numbers, help is only a thought away and when the battle seems lost love is more powerful than evil!

They could be read as stand-alone stories because the plots are so detailed and engaging but I don’t suggest it. The underlying evil makes a steady progression from book one right up to the end of book three.

After having read all three in the series, the direction Ms. Dwyer chose to take the stories makes all the more sense. Lexi’s story had to be first and then the introduction of Antoinette and finally the revealing of Charity to the were world. One of the hallmarks of Ms. Dwyer’s writing is the strong female lead. They may be broken a bit but they refuse to be doormats. It’s easy to understand why the men are completely devoted to their care and happiness.

Charity’s character was slightly different than Lexi or Antoinette. After meeting the Venificus men I understand why she had to be different. These men are the Alpha’s Alpha and their mate had to be just as strong in spirit as they were. Charity has talents and skills that match her men but do not overshadow them. That ability to lead and be led is central to their relationship. One of my favorite scenes in the book is when Dante is pursuing Charity while giving her a tour of their house. The word that comes to mind is SENSUAL! I was every bit as breathless as Charity by the end of that scene!!

I don’t know if Ms. Dwyer plans to continue the series but there are some wonderful secondary characters that I would like to follow as well as some blessed events that give hope to the future of the were society.

If you haven’t read the prior two books in the trilogy then this is the perfect time to start at the beginning and read all three straight through. The stories are fast paced and the characters are wonderfully developed. If you like lots of exciting action as well as steamy romance check out Ms. Dwyer’s Were Trilogy today.
