What I loved most about this story was its use of non-traditional characters (in all but one respect). The heroine isn’t particularly young or beautiful, especially to herself. This is a nice multi-racial love story, to be sure, but I wish the heroine hadn’t been the proper, educated white woman and the hero who’s possibly dangerous and seemingly uneducated hadn’t been the only black man in town.

Aside from that characterization choice, I very much enjoyed Raymond and recommend the storyline highly. I would read another work by this author and am already looking to see what she has on the shelves!

In the third installment of the Texas Sirens series, we go where no man or woman has gone before, into the past and the heart of The Club owner, Julian Lodge — you may call him Sir. We were introduced to Julian in book 2 of the series when Jack, Sam and Abby travel to Dallas to clean up a family problem.

The reader gets a glimpse into the hellacious teen years after Finn realized he was attracted to men as well as women. Like Finn, we are treated to a screen shot of Dani’s painful years of growing up as poor white trash in Willow Fork. Watching the changes in both Dani and Finn once they become involved with Julian were truly breathtaking and poignant.

I could go on and on about the many layers of this amazing book but you really just need to read it to understand. You don’t have to have read the first two in the series to enjoy Siren Enslaved but it helps to get to know the secondary characters that are present. One of the aspects of the story I really enjoyed was that it smoothly shifts POV from Dani, Finn and Julian. It was easy to become emotionally invested in the story when I could better understand the characters motivation.

Since starting reviewing I have been “introduced” to a lot of terrific writers but there are a dozen or so that I consider truly outstanding story tellers. Sophie Oak is one of those. No matter if she takes you to Bliss, Colorado, a private island, a secluded ranch or Willow Fork, Texas you walk away knowing you have been a part of a fantastic and well developed adventure.

If you look for stories that tug at your heart strings while stealing your breath you will love Siren Enslaved. I know I did.

Then you have Ross, Nevin, and Gillis who are pure male through and through but all different in their personalities, which only added to the drama between the pages.

I couldn’t help but love Amelia, Ross, Nevin, and Gillis as I learned about their demons and saw them fight as a family, as they learned to open up and let go of the past to make a future together. Author Reece Butler did a beautiful job in twisting a saga of days gone by into a hot and steamy ménage of love. Not only was it entertaining but well written, bringing to life some of the history of Montana Territory and the Wild West. I am looking forward to reading the first book in this series as soon as I can get my hands on it.

I would recommend this story to anyone who enjoys erotica and tales of hot foursome. This book is most definitely worth keeping in your library.

Lowell and Jase have a lot of conflict that draws out the story. There is the issue of Jase’s ex-wife and custody of his child which plays a huge role in the novel. Then there is Lowell’s openness about his sexuality while Jase prefers to stay closeted. These problems and more contribute to the tension about whether the two men can actually weather the issues and come out together. Additionally Jase and Lowell have a rocky relationship with a lot of fighting. Jase is especially fearful and often lashes out at Lowell because of this. Lowell is pretty understanding but ultimately I wasn’t entirely sure that these two really fell in love and lasted.

The characters are three dimensional and come across as authentic. Their problems feel genuine and you can empathize with their issues. There are no clear cut evil villains and the story creates good tension with a definite happy ending. While this didn’t always work so well for me I think some readers will enjoy the real feel to the story. Everyday men with problems and issues that aren’t fantasies but find a way to true love. If this sounds like your type of book, give it a chance.

There is light drama which helps the hero and heroine express themselves and their intent and I was satisfied with the delivery. Perhaps other readers will think that Adelaide capitulated too quickly, and perhaps she did, but due to the brevity of the pages in this story, I thought it worked well and was just right. This is a romance story that has all the basic elements that I look for. There is nothing I didn’t like and I’m really glad I read it. I think the author’s storytelling voice is wonderful.

I recommend Creole Nights for readers who need a quick shot of romance and are looking for an uplifting and satisfying happily ever after. This book delivers on all counts.

I feel comfortable recommending this book to anyone who enjoys ménage themed storylines or even to those who don’t. This is not a story about the sex but about the love and respect these three men have for one another.

I was in a mad rush to pick up Wolfman: Revelations the week it hit the online bookstore and had to start it just as soon as it downloaded onto my computer, settling in for a long winter night of reading.

Wolfman: Revelations picks up where the first book left off so personally I recommend reading Wolfman: Apocalypse first or you will get the feeling of being dropped into the middle of the story and miss some of the important details about the two main characters and not really able to enjoy the plot play out.

Daniel, big mouth human and Mace, Alpha Wolfman teach each other how to trust and survive the post virus world together. One has lived in fear of the beast, and memories of the world before the virus while the other lives with no memories of his past and the instincts of a wolf and pack live where only the strongest survives. Together they work to try to find away where humans and wolfmen can co-exist.

Brannan Black did a wonderful job in creating a unique post-apocalypse story. It’s amazingly well written with a lot of action and Alpha sex. A tale that will make you laugh and draws you in to a point you find yourself talking to the characters and trying to help them out when they let their mouths get them into trouble.

If you like to think outside the box and imagine the future or if you just enjoy Paranormal stories, you will find this book worth reading. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out and can’t recommend this series enough. Why don’t you grab yourself a copy?

While there is a lot of sex, for the err… “experiment”, Ms. Campbell manages to work in a happy for now ending, and you get the feeling it’ll really be a Happily Ever After.
