Corbin Smith is intent on bridging the chasm between their hearts. But witnessing his lover’s steamy onstage kiss with a woman jolts him to the core with sexual arousal. And he realizes the key to their healing is standing in Levi’s arms.

As an erotic romance editor, nothing much unsettles Sonja Stone. She’s not even surprised at her body’s powerful reaction to Levi’s kiss. But when Corbin approaches them, eyes smoldering with hunger, his suggestion shakes her to the core.

Sensing their unspoken wounds, Sonja agrees to take a chance on a threesome. Their union is explosively perfect, but something is holding Levi back from sealing their searing emotional connection. Something that could destroy their love once and for all…

Blame It on the Bass is the latest is Lexxie Couper’s Heart of Fame series, and it takes a look into the life of bass player Levi Levistan, a very private man going through a painful patch and having trouble opening up to his partner Corbin.

As the search continues for a lead singer for Synergy, bass player Levi Levistan has left it all up to his band mates, while he and his partner Corbin Smith retreat from the public eye to mourn the loss of their daughter and her mother. Levi is handling the loss like he has handled things his whole life, by shutting everything inside and not talking it through. Corbin loves Levi, but he needs Levi to share his feelings, so after a bitter discussion, Corbin leaves for a bit, to think. Levi needs to find something to keep him from losing it all, and ends up at a karaoke bar to have a drink and unwind. When he spots his high school sweetheart on stage, he joins her for a song and they end up in a hot embrace, just as Corbin comes in the door. Instead of being upset, Corbin realizes that this woman has brought some life and spirit back to Levi, and he suggests that they invite Sonja back to their place. Levi is shocked by Corbin’s idea, and also turned on, but worried that Corbin might not be into it. When these three discuss things, Levi and Corbin are able to convince her that they both want her to stay, and she wants to believe them. Can three be the perfect number in this relationship? Can Sonny help these two wounded men heal and rejoin in the life around them?

I like this world, and the interaction between the main characters. There is a past with Sonja, and it is portrayed in bits and pieces through these two people’s memories. I love this series, and enjoy the search for the elusive talent needed to replace the irreplaceable Nick Blackthorne.

Levi Levistan and Corbin Smith are a committed couple, in the midst of the single most devastating period in their relationship. They had looked forward to the birth of their daughter via a surrogate, and when the senseless accident took both the child and her mother from them, each man reacted differently. Corbin grieved openly, and needed to share his grief with Levi, while Levi buried his grief and pain deep inside himself. I like that, although Corbin left, he realized that he still loved Levi, and needed to find a way to get through to Levi and help him heal. I love that he felt secure enough with Levi to accept and welcome Sonja into their lives, their homes, and finally, into their hearts.

Sonja ‘Sonny’ Stone is strong, determined and unflappable. She has to be in her career as an editor of erotic romances, but even she is shaken a bit by Corbin’s suggestion. I like that she shares a past with Levi, and knows and understands how he handles pain and stress in his life, and I liked seeing how she reacted to both Levi and Corbin. She has such an open and adventurous nature, and she fills the place inside both men that neither knew was there.

This is a poignant and touching story, one of pain and loss and starting anew. There are some sad moments, but there are many joyous ones as well, and when disaster strikes, Levi and Corbin are able to face it together and make sure Sonny stays right where she belongs…between these two attentive and loving men. This one is for those who like their romance unconventional and hot…and I do mean hot! I’m looking forward to seeing how the search for Nick’s replacement works out, and I recommend this series in its entirety to those who like lots of screaming hot romance with a peek inside the life of a band.

Lawyer Jay Rhodes is struggling with sobriety when he recruits rookie Aaron Arredondo to his failing South Texas firm. Hoping to gain a few easy cases from Aaron’s local connections, Jay instead finds himself pulled into the underbelly of the community: a burgeoning drug economy and ruthless world of money, family ties, and risk.

Culture clash, corruption, and greed ride shotgun in this tale of lawyers and cops, smugglers and kingpins, and murder and revenge in 1970s South Texas. From schoolyards to federal offices, no one is immune to the allure or the costs of the trade; it’s lucrative, but treacherous—and it’s not long before Jay finds that his new recruit has ambitions of his own.

So, be smart and buy the medicine only once sildenafil online uk a day with a gap of 24 hours between the two doses. They must know the difference from rumors and facts. cheapest viagra visit over here This is my kind of book! Set in the 1970’s in South Texas the gritty business of drug smuggling was just really starting to become very lucrative and very, very violent. Jay Rhodes is a man fighting his own brand of demons, determined to stay sober and determined to turn his career around and become successful. Hiring a young, fresh out of law school attorney named Aaron Arredondo to help him score some cases that could make his small firm some much needed cash, Jay gets more than he ever bargained for.

This atmospheric crime drama had my attention from the very beginning. Jay has had his hands full just trying to cope with his drinking problems and the shape of his law firm. So, he may be a little out of touch with some of the latest crime developments. Despite his issues, Jay is a principled man and maybe a bit naive when it comes to the long and powerful reach of greed.  Aaron is a volatile character. Trust him? No? I don’t know? Keep reading. He’s sharp. But, he has an agenda. His agenda will take Jay on a journey he would never have imagined.

I must confess I am a Texas resident and I am familiar with some of the places written about here. The drug trade is BIG business and now it’s VERY, VERY dangerous. The subject matter is timely due to the recent headlines, but back in this time frame this issue was not well known on a national level. These small border towns are eaten alive with corruption. The lure of “easy money”.. isn’t that the way the song goes?

This book also put me in mind of a few real life cases in this time period. Drugs, money, violence, corruption, politics, the legal system all collide making this a compelling novel. There are real character developments and growth especially for Jay who will finally sit up and take responsibility for his actions and his life.

This is one of the best crime novels I have read in awhile. You will be on the edge of your seat wondering who to trust, what will happen next and I think you will find contentment with the way things turned out for Jay.

It is my understanding that this is a first novel for this author. There were few things I was not sure about , such as the mention and use of the VCR. In the 1970’s if someone had said something about a VCR to me I wouldn’t have known what they were talking about. The device was used in the television industry primarily and it wasn’t until the the early to mid 1980’s that the VCR became a common item in households. But, a few people did have them or the betamax so I’ll give the author the benefit of the doubt on that one. Everything else in the book was authentic to a fault. This book was researched and the author knew his stuff. I had to remind myself that this was not a true crime novel. Very, very well done!!

Theana ran from Seurri City, home of the wolf shifters now public to humans, to escape a mating with her childhood friend. She wasn’t in the mood for a mate, or the trappings of politics. Then she meets Rafael, alpha of the strongest pack in Seurri, and his beta, Gregori. Suddenly she can’t catch her breath, or keep control of her emotions.

Rafael and Gregori refuse to let Theana get her own way, or deny the love they could share. Perhaps two men for their feisty mate are definitely better than one. Now to stall the would-be childhood suitor, and stop an all out war between the packs—but love is worth fighting for.

I love finding new authors because it opens the world to new and exciting reads. It’s a pretty common shifter story in that the humans accept the shifter, but only face to face. There will always be some type of organization after the shifter community.

I love a strong female character with a good mix of sass and brains. I really liked Theana because she’s a little strong in the first chapter, then she toned the whole I’m better attitude. Translation: she’s a bit spoiled. Her father let her run wild most of her life. Theana isn’t quick to lie down and take orders, nor is she in any hurry to be mated. She has made a point of only being with wolves lower ranking than her, although that didn’t make much sense to me.

The males were the typical alpha type, but I liked the alpha right off. This alpha cares about his beta and knew how to put his beta at ease. How the Alpha and beta grew up together and how they formed a bond was really good. They’ve shared women before but a mate? No. And if they did, where does the beta fit in? Is there rank in a relationship?

There was the nice show of strength, power and passion along with a few yummy scenes to sweeten the story. I liked how the authors threw in a wee bit of danger as well as keeping the conflict simple.

This looks to be a first in a series. Because of the secondary characters I’d think, that another book will come at some point. The writers didn’t leave me hanging though, which I liked. The length was decent and there was just a bit of back ground. It wasn’t a knock my socks off read, but I liked and enjoyed it. If you like wolf shifters, then hop over and grab this read. I’m sure you will enjoy it I did.

She wanted him. Her sister married him.

Tara Thornton hasn’t spoken to her sister in two years, ever since Azure married the man of Tara’s dreams. Tired of the rift, Azure invites her to take a Mediterranean cruise on a friend’s yacht and, bowing to family pressure, Tara accepts.

Forced to be in close proximity with the man she still desires, Tara is thrown into confusion. The presence of celebrity theme park owner Liam Wilder and the reality of his marriage to Azure send Tara into a tailspin and, in an attempt to regain control, she responds to the advances of hot fellow guest Ryan Hyde, while determined to feel no affection for him.

But Ryan has a way of getting under her skin, and Tara’s plan to get closer to Liam is rapidly losing its importance as Ryan begins to break down her defences. Can she let go of Liam, let Ryan into her heart…and tell Azure the real reason for her silence?

A hard won happy ever after is the reward for reading Photograph and it’s worth experiencing Tara’s growing pains. It’s not often a heroine is the one having to navigate territory that usually is a male’s purview.

Ms. Davenport had quite the challenge facing her when dealing with Tara. A reader is first introduced to the heroine when she is at her most uptight, obsessive, illogical, controlling and nasty as well as stubborn beyond belief. In short, she’s not likeable. Her internal dialogue gives a reader a clear indication of her obsession. It’s not healthy. Who can reach a person that mentally closed off?

Her sister, Azure. I loved the name Azure; it’s so pretty. Tara’s sister is the one who orchestrates an unusual scenario that forces their issues to break open. It’s clever, elaborate and effective. It’s not without its downside but I admit to being pleasantly surprised at one of the twists. In fact, once one of the dramatic and suspenseful incidents happened, the book exhibited a tighter handling of plot focus and intensity. It’s when this book started to shine and I found myself completely engaged and totally enjoying myself.

The style of writing in the first half of the novel is split between Tara’s point of view and Azure’s POV. A reader gets to understand why Azure pushes so hard and what demons plague Tara. In the early stages of the plot, the head hopping hurt my brain. The little snippets of going back in time to relive some moments that lead up the current situation between the two sisters, although commendable in their inclusion, made me want to facepalm – it broke up the flow of the story and it didn’t work for me.

One thing the head hopping and switches of POV accomplished was to help me understand that Tara’s imagination created a picture of a person that had no bearing on reality. The object of her obsession was revealed through Azure as being a person totally and completely unsuited to Tara’s personality, yet that person fits Azure like a glove. And that is also where I saw the slow change and dawning awareness in Tara that nothing was as she believed. She couldn’t handle it so she did what guys normally do which is another clue to her personality. After that moment, the crack in Tara’s shield started to spread and I got to see some amazing shifts as told through internal dialogue and the heroine’s own actions. And readers need to pay attention to her choice of words, they’re very telling. Once that started happening, I was able to see the evidence as to why Azure did not want to give up on Tara, why she pushed so hard and I started to see glimpses of what made their relationship so special before it all went to pot. Tara is redeemable and worth saving.

As for the sex, readers will get their fix. It doesn’t happen only for Tara, Azure gets some too. And believe it or not, sex is important in this tale which was a pleasant surprise. I’m serious too. Usually sex is about titillation or a celebration of a couple coming together in a romance. In Photograph sex is a barometer of emotion and discovery and a key component to Tara’s redemption and I truly got the biggest kick out of that. Way cool.

Initially, Photograph is a hard book to get into because of Tara’s personality and some of the issues I mentioned above. Stick with it because it’s so very worth it. The heroine’s character growth is significant and powerful, the drama and excitement that the author infused at certain key points in the story were well written and gripping and set fire to the plot movement. The growing attraction between Ryan and Tara was a complex love dance that ultimately culminated in a soon to be HEA. I won’t clarify that statement; a reader will have to find out for one’s self. The intimate encounters were varied and always well placed, not to mention delightfully hot. The happily ever after is intricate and substantial and it tied up some loose ends making it a wonderful way to end the story. It’s not a fairy tale ending; it’s the perfect ending for both Tara and Azure. If readers like character driven plots then this book fits the bill. If readers like challenging and strong female protagonists, then this is the novel to choose. Photograph has a lot to offer; pick up your own copy and see for yourself.

She’s going to be his every need…as long as he needs.

The idea of doing anything in order to a loan repaid isn’t new in erotic romance. What is new about this book is the emotion injected into the story. The writing sizzles and I enjoyed reading about these two people.

Allie is trying to save her home because of a mistake. She’s also trying to keep her family afloat. That’s a lot for anyone to deal with. I liked that Ms Austin kept her level and sane. I got to climb into Allie’s head and know what was happening. I could relate to her struggle.

There were times when I liked Trevor, then there were times I wanted to sock him in the head. The guy has issues, I won’t lie. I understood why he has them and won’t get into them here, but he’s screwed up. I did like how his past formed his views on the future and made him into the man he’d become. I appreciated how he got to know Allie, despite having her work for him. But sometimes his issues were distracting.

Still, the love scenes sizzle and I enjoyed the read. If you like a book that’s a little off the beaten path and loaded with heat, then this might be the book for you.
