When Rex Renaud, the COO of Mercier Shipping, is arrested for a crime he didn’t commit, he knows he’ll need a miracle to clear his name … and sassy lawyer Charlotte Andreko is the perfect woman for the job.
Charlotte has built her career defending pro bono clients against womanizers like Rex Renaud, and she’d much rather let him sweat it out in a jail cell than defend him in court. Yet Rex swears he’s been set up, and when he offers her a shocking sum of money in exchange for her legal counsel, the financial security is too tempting to resist. The court dubs Rex a serious flight risk—how many people have their own jet?—and he’s released on one condition: Charlotte’s his new jailer, and he’s stuck with her until his arraignment.

But when a bomb threat sends Rex and Charlotte on the run, neither is prepared for the explosive chemistry and red-hot passion that flare between them as they hunt for the truth about his arrest.

Money talks but it can’t buy love. Sparks fly in and out of the courtroom when one determined lawyer meets her match in one sexy French mogul.

Rex is a COO of a shipping company, he pretty much has money to burn. When he finds himself arrested for a crime he didn’t commit, he’s determined to hire the best attorney his money can buy.

Of course, Charlotte knows about men like Rex Renaud. The typical “I’m rich, so it’s my way”. She was dead set on refusing the case but Rex didn’t get to the top of his game by being giving up easy.

I liked the writing but the premise was a bit played out of me. In this type of genre you have be way above the rest. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, it just didn’t have the “wow” factor for me.

It’s a long story but it felt like it had a bit more detail than I necessary, I found myself drifting a couple of times. This is book three in the series, though I haven’t read the other two, yet. The characters were good and I had the chance to get to know them. I loved how they went back and forth; both Rex and Charlotte have a cutting wit.

Charlotte had all the confidence in the world. I loved how she stood up to the judge that had called her in her chambers. She didn’t however have a lot of confidence in herself as a woman. It was enjoyable to watch her grow into a stronger woman outside the courtroom.

There are a couple of tense moments, a bit of a mystery, and some lovely sexy playtime. All around it was a good read.

Finding a new author is like finding buried treasure. I thought this was a amazing read, even though when I picked it I had no clue what I’d be reading, really. It didn’t have a cliff hanger nor does it seem like it will be a “series” book. Instead, the author very cleverly wove three stories into one read. They are separate stories but by the end they all mesh together to make one well developed novel. That was just one thing that pulled me in and kept me there.

I met three women in the same situation but who handle themselves differently. Abby, Grace and Cat are human women and mates to vampires. Abby is a ward who’s been around vamps most of her life and is all grown up now, Grace is somewhat naïve and a sheltered homebody and Catlin is a bar owner. The brethren are a group of male vampires who watch over the city and are destined to be mated. The way the group of men are described almost reminded me of another series. The book lost a bit of its originality with that but it was the only drawback. There was plenty to keep me reading beyond that similarity.

What awesome play with words, as sexy alpha males try to contend with their equally stubborn human mates. The wise cracking, the teasing among the characters was a good fit, almost as if I could close my eyes and see the story playing out. There was one wee twist that threw me for a second, then I completely agreed. There is a bit of danger as a old nemesis the brethren thought dead shows herself. The hot scenes were all wow, yep, I needed to fan my face. There was some hints of BDSM but not much mostly the alpha male tendencies. Oh, I just fell in love with Tasha and Micah.  The ending was surprising, but HEA. I enjoyed it and it listed as a favorite. Enjoy!

Two thousand years is a long time to have to wait to meet your mate. It’s even longer when you’ve been buried alive.

I love new to me authors, getting a feel for their talent and how they weave a story. Ms. Chenery did a good job. I enjoyed the hybrid true immortal story line.

A very short read, this is a good one for readers who want intensity but don’t have much time to devote to long drawn out novels. I was a bit sad when this one ended but only because I kept imagining the interaction between the characters after the last page. I adored Waverly even as things progressed too fast for her; she still hung in there and was a champ. As for Brolach, I was fanning myself over him – protector, lover and a Vampire/Wolf that had been sleep for two thousand years. It made me laugh when I pictured his face as seeing a car for the first time.

I don’t know what the author has planned for future books in this series but Waverly’s brother needs his own story – what a character he is, so full of himself but loyal to his sister. Cameron the lone wolf; yep, he needs his own story.

If I could change something it would be the length, it truly needed to be a bit longer to give the characters more time to develop. Brolach is all alpha male but he could have been more likable if I could have had more time to get to know him, understand him.

Everything else meshed well. I’d give her a B+ on the sexy scenes and the premise was a win. I enjoyed the dialogue and how smoothly the pace flowed. I will be looking forward to reading more of Ms. Chenery’s work. I’d recommend this to any shifter lover. Enjoy.

In the aftermath of a plague which brought civilization to its knees and left most of the world’s female population sterile, the few women who remain fertile have become a precious commodity. They live in relative comfort, but upon reaching adulthood they must bear children to carry on the species.

Twenty-four-year-old Rowan knows the role she will be expected to play, but when she dares to resist her fate the penalty is severe. After a public chastisement and a thorough medical examination, Rowan is given to a savage from outside the community–a huge brute of a man named Silas.

Against all expectations, Rowan finds herself drawn to Silas. Brave and ruggedly handsome, he is everything the men she has known before were not, and despite the circumstances something deep inside her begs for him to claim her. But while she soon finds herself longing to be his forever, Rowan knows that one day those who gave her to him will try to take her back. When that day comes will Silas fight to keep her at his side even if it means risking everything he loves?

This book is listed as a dark read, and it is, but not too dark. A Dystopian world that is a bit warped where the natural order of things are not so natural. The upper class can’t seem to produce offspring, and they have a prevalent need for breeders.

I would think that in having the need for something, it would make someone treat it better. Not so much in this case. The breeders are treated worse than animals but yet without them… extinction of their race could be a real possibility.

In the outer rim of the colony it looks like breeding isn’t an issue, they have a decent way of life. But it’s also where the fight for food and medical supplies is constant. A leader of the village is given an offer he will be hard pressed not to accept. Rowan is a new and young breeder, something she always knew she would be. She’s horrified at the thought of being made to leave the colony to breed with a savage.

Ms. Knight sets the scene and builds the tension to the point of being harsh and extreme. Readers who don’t enjoy feeling anxious for the characters might struggle with this one. On the other hand, for readers who want to be transported into the darkness, this is spot on.

Some parts were intense… the exams were humiliating but did just what they were intended to do, keep Rowan, and some extent the reader, off balance and down. But then Rowan thinks of rebelling against what was happening to her but her body seemed to crave and respond.

Silas worked hard at trying to keep detached, his feelings in check. All that was important was the safety of his family and people. Or so he kept telling himself. Since this is romance, I wanted (needed) to like Silas and his reasons for being a part of this. Ms. Knight gives him likability and even though it’s unconventional, the romance is believable.

This was a second book I’ve had the pleasure in reading from this author and I really enjoy her writing. This book was a decent length and so far seemed a stand-alone, which I love. It is a bit dark, a bit edgy and sci-fi to a point. I’d recommend it as a good read for those who look for gritty and not so neatly wrapped romance.

One dangerous warrior woman plus two rogue demon males equals a love to threaten an empire. As a d’skeku trooper, Zaynah belongs to the emperor. Duty is everything. She’s sworn to take her own life if she fails to achieve her mission. When demon brothers rescue her from the wreckage of her spacecraft, she faces a heartbreaking choice between honoring her vows or following her heart.

The rebel demons live to exact vengeance from the Emperor Prado in blood. The hated royal ordered the murder of their brothers, sparing them so they would take the blame for the heinous crime. The demons escaped by stowing away on a miner heading for Ranin Seven. The remote moon, rich in the duranium essential hyper-light travel provides the brothers with a power base to bring their enemy to his knees.

After capturing an imperial they have a new weapon–one of the emperor’s special pets, but a d’skeku assassin is a dangerous blade to wield. She might give them the vital edge they need to win or she might destroy their untested Pan-Galactic Alliance.

It’s the epitome of a “do or die” situation when her Emperor sends Zaynah on a mission, and she thinks she has a better chance of dying then completing it.

The subject of warriors and demons could have been dark and deeply intense but this story came off as more cute and sweet. What’s a girl to do when she finds out she’s not what she appears to be? And what a way to find out!

Zaynah was trained from birth to be a royal guard, it’s all she knows. But she has never felt like she was part of the rest of the guard. Something was missing or different.

Gun and Diablo are fire demon brothers on a mission to bring down the tyrant responsible for killing most of the other demon kind. All their glorified plans are put a risk by one slip of a girl…seemingly a human but apparently not. An enemy… they won’t know just yet, because her not so graceful landing on the planet has left her without her memories. She doesn’t remember who she is or why she was sent. The one thing she does know, is these guys smell amazing! Readers who like the whole “fated mate” concept will enjoy this twist.

Things will get a bit hairy for all three of them. Zaynah will have to come to grips with her transition and she doesn’t have a lot of time. Will her mind stay foggy? Will she remember in time to be of help or be the one they will have to fight against?

It’s a good story when I’m anticipating the author’s next move and actively looking for answers to specific questions that weren’t wrapped up here. The story captured my attention and held it to the end.

I found this book fun and entertaining, both the story and the characters. Even the length of the story was good. It’s a nice, quick read and partly because it flows well. I’ll be looking forward to reading more from this writer.

How many couples through the years fall into the trap of complacency with one another? Too many, and it’s really no one’s fault, it is what it is.

What if there were an entity out there listening, ready to help a couple in need, a couple who have lost their passion but not their love? Jennie seemed to conjure her fantasy right from the book she was reading. Pothos was the very meaning of sexual power and passion. He oozed it. Moreover, he was going to help Jake and Jennie get back what they’ve lost.

I really liked this book, it was easy to follow and get caught up in. The emotions were palpable and readers will have a hard time not finding Jennie at the middle of a pleasurable epicenter.

The story is very easy to identify with. Jake and Jennie are over worked and not taking time out for each other as a couple. Jennie tends to fantasize because in a dream you don’t need to think about repercussions or guilt.

This is a short read and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed how the writer had the lead female reading when she started fantasizing. I’ve often wondered how many readers, including myself, substitute our name in for that of the leading ladies we read about.

There is a lot of love between Jennie and Jake. Intense, passionate, complete. Even Pothos felt emotions that he hadn’t felt in all his years. I’d love the chance to read the other books in this series. It can be a stand- alone and I liked that it wasn’t a cliffhanger. I enjoyed it and hope others who look for a bit of the mythical will also.

Action packed and crossing multiple genres, there was something for everyone in this boxed set. I didn’t love every story but there were some that stood out and made reading the set as a whole well worth the time. I’ll highlight a few of my favorites:

Silver Tongued Devils by Dawn Montgomery

I was glad I didn’t have to pick a favorite genre to choose from, I’d have had a very hard time. This one is for the sci fi lovers. A decent length; not a short story but not a full length novel either. A really nice stand-alone. The scenes were not as explicit as I’d have expected. That being said, the story line actually carried it through, kept me engaged and wanting to continue to read. I enjoyed the three main characters; a bit more background to them would have been welcomed though. It was a nice read, I’d recommend it.

Crazy, Vampire Love by Eve Langlais

I’m so the lover of vampires and I adore Ms. Langlais’ awesome talent. I’ve read more than a few of her books and she still comes through with flying colors. Can you even imagine hearing voices and everyone that knows you thinks you’re crazy? So much so that 1) you believe you’re crazy, 2) they’ve actually locked you away. A smexy vamp has been doing what I’d say is easy feeding at the Institution for “crazy” people. When Zane’s compulsion didn’t work on Ella, I had to laugh. I could just imagine the look on his face. Priceless. Ella isn’t even sure that her visitor is real; after all she’s a certified loon herself. The thing she is sure about is the voices stop speaking when Zane is around. This was just a fun and easy read. Zane and Ella’s story goes to show you what’s on the surface don’t always run deep.

I’ve wanted to read something from Paige Tyler for some time, and this was a very good opportunity. In this set Reed and Hayes are police officers and partners. Cilla is working the late shift at the coffee shop; she had been drooling and fantasizing about these lawmen for some time. The opportunity arises where they help her lock up and give her a ride home, in the name of protecting and serving of course.

This is the second book in the Badge Bunnies series but it appears to be a stand-alone.

A quick read, the story flowed well and characters were fun. There was a bit of BDSM included and that’s always a plus for me. This one was an immediate win for me because the Dom made her use her voice instead of just accepting a nod when she answered. The scenes were pretty hot and the writing created some fantastic visualizations, especially in one of the scenes. I’d recommend this and will be looking into obtaining another read by Ms. Tyler.

Chase and Seduction (Hot Country 1) by Randi Alexander

I almost started singing “I’m a little bit country”. Okay so what do you do when you are used to getting anything you want? Reno is more than happy not being in the “in crowd”, they’re both as different as night and day. One is quiet and calm the other is always on the move.

Of course Chase has a reputation that doesn’t help his pursuit of Reno, because she isn’t trying to be one of Chase’s latest conquests. But Chase is determined and he has set a course straight for Reno.

Chase and Seduction would not have been a book I’d have picked for myself to read, but it turned out to be a good story. I liked the writer’s style of writing, even though not in my genre. The story read well and characters were likable. Personally I think they would be good for each other, Reno calming Chase down, and Chase putting a bit of spark into Reno’s life. It was cute, sweet and fun. Enjoyable.

Tall, Dark and Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever

I so love the whole Apolcayptic theme that one and sci fi I’ve been snatching them up. I’m glad this one was part of the bundle. The way the story was wrote, you could just fall in the pages with the characters. The story struggled a bit at the start, but finally pulled me in and carried me to the exciting end. Easy read, well-paced. I’d like to read something else from this writer.

Overall, my impression of this box set was that it was totally entertaining and a group of well-balanced stories. I met some terrific new authors and stepped outside my comfort genre in some cases and I’m glad I did. Readers who crave the uber alpha male will likely enjoy these stories. Even though this boxed set is no longer available, the individual books can still be purchased from the authors involved.

It’s sad when your own family is being disinterested and mean. The way Talia (Tally) thought life was supposed to be, isn’t, so she was going to make sure she doesn’t end up like her parents. Her luck in men and relationships pretty much sucks. So much so, she would be swearing off men entirely if she didn’t need a date.

I adored Aunt Gerri. She was full of sass and knowing, oh and Grandma Kate…absolutely amazing, loved her at first meeting. Those were the secondary characters, so it’s not surprising that I simply loved the lead characters.

A pair of shifters looking for their third, decide to go on a date with Tally and they completely set the world as she knows it on tilt. It’s amazing how one can be taken out of their norm, or what most see as normal. Theron and Connor complement each other and their third will be the balance. It was amazing how it all fit, the needs, the wants, the patience that both men showed Tally giving her time to either accept or move on.

All three eat, slept and breathed sex in the whole time they were in the “get to knowing stage”.  It was complete, hot and intense and worded perfectly. The descriptions were so “brings you into the room” vivid, it even make me squirm a bit but in the best possible way. Awesome job.

The only thing I can find wrong with this is that I have to wait for the second book, but thankfully not too long. Geek Bearing Gifts should be available soon.  Don’t worry, Twice the Growl is pretty much a stand-alone, but it was easy to guess that there is another character’s story coming. Ms. Taiden is a first time author for me and I loved her style and writing. I found this short story to be an almost perfect length to read, and kept me interested enough to read it in one sitting. So sad… a young girl who was thought of as crazy because she called for the Mad Hatter and he came to her, if only in a dream. As she grew up, she turned out so very different than what was expected of her.

How exciting! I’d tell potential readers to close their eyes and take a walk in the magical world that Ms Hall created here, but then they wouldn’t be able to read this fantastic storybook retelling of a classic. So I’ll say this; open your mind and travel with Alice to her wonderland, and feel what she does: the excitement, the amazement, even the unbelievable. I found this story so intriguing and emotional. Reading Alice in Wonderland as a child, I never thought of the Hatter as really being mad or sad, but in Her Mad Hatter I could almost feel his sadness and loneliness ooze off the pages.

Hatter, such a soulful, older-than-time man, has been through so much as he’s waited for “The One” that will keep him sane. However, as Alice makes her way to him does the Hatter even care anymore? Is he washing his hands of the whole mate thing and resigned to his fate?

Oh my goodness, there’s this one character, the fairy G Danika, I loved her!! She was so much fun, simply wonderful and I loved her personality. I can’t wait to see how she handles her other “Bad boys”.

This delightful book is the first one in the series. It’s just the right length and the story moved along well without ever getting boring. It gives me a whole new look on old but dear fairy tale. The author had me witnessing some sadness, heartache, passion and eventually, a lot of love. I’d recommend this to anyone that loves fairy tales.

The Greek gods are alive and well. But, unfortunately for the gods, the humans have all but forgotten their glorious existence…and this fact really pisses off the all-powerful, immortal beings.

Apollo, the Greek god of the sun, takes one look at the mysterious Terese Lafitte and knows that he wants her. Even in this modern century, a god takes what he wants. But Terese isn’t a mortal, not any longer. As a newly turned vampire, her attraction to Apollo is downright lethal because desire arouses not just her body, but also her bloodlust.

When Terese’s psychotic vampire ex begins to stalk them, Apollo knows that he will have to use all of his strength to keep her safe. Lucky for Terese, Apollo has more power than she could ever have imagined.

When you trifle with the sun god, you will get burned.

Sun god looks to take a mate, vampires need not apply. Unless you happen to be really smoking hot and give good chase.

Loved it! Both of my favorites wrapped up in one hot cute sexy love story. When you mix a Greek god and a vampire that just has to lead to some hot times. Most ironic though is that Apollo is the Sun God and the female he happens to want to claim is a vampire.

I adore alpha men and Apollo has all that in spades. He’s bossy, arrogant and protects what he claims as his. He’s just bumping around looking for a good time and bored out of his mind. In walks Terese (love her name) a walking vision in pale skin and dark hair, looking to feed after she has spent quite a bit of time talking herself into it.

It was very intriguing that a vampire thought that maybe a god could be harmed. This short had some awesome banter between all the characters. I had a lot of fun with this, the characters and the story. This seems like the first book of a potential series, but I don’t see a second one listed anywhere. Thankfully this story was a good standalone.

A few scorching scenes mixed with a bit of danger then topped off with some sweetness. Again, it’s a winner for me and I would love to read more from this writer. Do I recommend it? Yes!
