Double crossing the devil is a dangerous business.

Karmic Consultants, Book 7

Nearly two decades ago, Prometheus sold his beating heart to a devil in exchange for epic power. That contract is about to expire—and so is he. There’s only one woman with the power to help him see his next birthday. And he’s willing to use every manipulation in his arsenal to pry that power from the ice queen’s grip.

Karma, who values order above all else, has had enough of the unscrupulous warlock’s pranks endangering her people. But when she confronts the wily trickster to demand a cease-fire, his terms throw her for a loop. The bastard wants her to save his life—and he wants her in his bed.

These herbal pills have gained wide acceptance to cure sexual disorders including semen leakage, premature ejaculation, frequent next viagra price nightfall, erectile dysfunction and low libido hidden link. In ED, the blood vessels get clogged, because of which the organ fails to receive adequate blood, making you impotent. viagra india price cute-n-tiny.com This drug works best when taken in correct quantity and the user cialis viagra on line takes proper precautions. Clinging to her hard-won control is the only way Karma knows to keep her abilities from overwhelming her. If anyone can tempt her to embrace the chaos of her magic, it’s Prometheus.

One kiss brings her defenses crashing down. But can she trust Prometheus…or has she lost her own heart to a warlock with a hidden agenda?

This latest episode in Vivi Andrews’ Karmic Consultants series finally takes a look at the life and thoughts of Karma, the woman behind Karmic Consultants, and it has been a delight to uncover the person that keeps everything moving along on an even keel at the agency. I have enjoyed learning more about her, discovering that she is not always the calm and controlled one running the show. I like this world Ms. Andrews has built, and the characters she has inhabited this world with.

If you want something found, if you need your new house exorcised, if strange things keep happening, the ones to call are the Karmic Consultants. As head of the agency, Karma Cox has someone to handle just about anything you could name.

After a particularly rough spell, she is approached by dark magic wielder Prometheus, a thorn in her side for far too long. He used his magic to get her attention, because he needs her help to regain something he sold two centuries ago…his heart. Prometheus sold his heart to a devil two hundred years ago for nearly unlimited power, never thinking that the time would come when the contract would be due. Now, he needs the vast power that Karma can wield to help locate his heart so he can steal it back. But first, he must convince Karma to release the rigid control she keeps on her chaotic reserves, and he plans his seduction carefully.

Karma Cox is strong and powerful, but her power frightens her. So she keeps a tight control over her power, and hides her desires from everyone she knows. She is smart, talented and extremely loyal to her friends and family, and tries to protect everyone in her circle. I liked seeing a different side of Karma, especially as she fought her attraction to Prometheus, and the softer side she so seldom lets show was delightful.

Prometheus is powerful, and he is the first to admit he is not a good person. But he isn’t fully evil, either, and as this story moves along, I liked watching him slowly discover the part of him that got hidden away so long ago when he sold his heart. He is determined to get back what he so foolishly sold, and I liked that he went from determined and uncaring to someone who realized that he actually needed someone’s help; Karma’s help. I enjoyed watching the seduction of Karma, especially as it soon became apparent she wasn’t the only one being seduced here.

There are several barriers to Karma and Prometheus’ happy ever after, and some involve Karma’s friends and family. And there are a few surprising supporters of Prometheus’ pursuit of Karma as well, also in her immediate circle. There is laughter, romance and lots of heat here, and one very funny scene when Prometheus gets Karma drunk and, well, things happen; unusual and slightly funny and unexpected things. I enjoyed seeing all of the past characters put in cameo appearances here, and catching up with old friends from other books. Do Karma and Prometheus find their middle ground and their happy ever after? It took some work, but yes they did. It was a hard fought battle, but so worth what they ended up with, finally. I recommend this for everyone who needs some powerful magic in their lives and their romances.

But the Old One, a monstrous creature that for millennia has reveled in sadism and the spilling of innocent blood, won’t be satisfied until every last man, woman and child is dead.

The action picks up again in this part of the series. The Night Flyers are approaching and those that are left are in a race for survival. I’ve been with the characters from the beginning of the book, and I know under the circumstances with gory monsters out to hunt, anyone can be killed. Without revealing too much, none of the characters I grew to cheer for survived.

The author has a great strength in creating both an engaging and complex setting which add depth and interest. However, I am still left with questions about the origin of the different type monsters. The novel’s main focus was on the humans and their fight to survive. With the variations of monsters I would have liked to read more about the monsters. The ‘After’ chapter was a good snippet into the minds of the Old One and the Night Flyer’s mother. I would have enjoyed more of the monsters view during the novel.

The Savage Species is a fitting title for the ferocious species that Janz has created in this series. If you are looking for a entertaining adrenaline powered read this will be a series you don’t want to miss.

The Marriage Market will sweep you from the ballrooms of the “haute ton” in Bath to a romantic vineyard in Tuscany.

This book begins in Regency Portsmouth where a mother tells her husband the family must move so her daughters will have more than navy officers as potential husbands. I like the Admiral, typical old sea dog. Needless to say, his wife gets her way and they move to Bath.

The main character is Victoria the eldest daughter. When Victoria finds her own happiness, she is determined to see everyone around her achieve the same state of bliss. The hardest challenge is her husband’s best friend James Wovington. It doesn’t help that Wovington is in love with Victoria, but she is out of reach due to her marriage. Several other characters pop up throughout the book, usually as potential love interests for James.

This is a pleasant book with an entertaining plot, but I would have liked it better had the author shown me what was happening instead of telling me this or that had occurred. Telling the story in this manner did not draw me into the depths of the book, it made me feel I looked in from the outside rather than actually being there with the characters.

There were one or two gripping moments spread through the book, and these made me want to carry on to find more. Pleasant reading and a good way to spend an afternoon.

When you have the perfect lover and he’s suddenly taken from you, what’s the point of going on? I mean, really. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory, or in this case, a chill of glory. Of course, something could go wrong, and in Matthew Robins’ case, it almost always does.

Not everything in life has a happy ending.

Mr. Natale captures the numbness and fog of grief quite well in Refrigeration Blues. Matthew’s reaction to the sudden death of his life partner is heartbreakingly realistic. The first few pages in particular painted such a vivid picture of Matthew’s state of mind that I felt as if I were walking alongside him as he struggles to figure out what to do next. Due to numerous references to suicide and sex, the age recommendation for this piece is a firm 16+ and should be taken seriously.

Uneven pacing, flashbacks that took up a large percentage of the ninteen pages of this story, and an abrupt ending made it difficult for me to understand the author’s intentions at times. Had this been the first chapter of a novella or full length novel it would have made more sense to include some of the anecdotes that explain how Matthew and Nathaniel met and they type of life they built together. Adding these things into such a short piece distracted me from the main plot, though, and made it difficult to remember where the original narrative had previously ended. While I understand there is at least one sequel in the works I would have also preferred to see the conflicts in this installment wrapped up more sufficiently.

Matthew’s wry sense of humor was what kept me so interested in the conclusion of this tale. I never expected to laugh while reading such serious material, but Matthew is able to find the humor in even his darkest experiences as a brand new widower. He’s an extremely intelligent and witty character who Mr. Natale has clearly spent a great deal of time developing. The end of this story promises that it will be continued, and I am looking forward to finding out what Matthew does next.

Refrigeration Blues is a good choice for mature teens. I’d especially recommend it to anyone who has ever lost someone they really loved.

An Autumn Memory
by Eve Dew Crook
Out to drink in the glorious autumn colors, find Indian corn, pick a pumpkin, breathe in the scent of burning leaves, and simply enjoy our favorite season, my husband and I drove around the lovely Finger Lakes in New York State. We passed roadside stands piled high with pumpkins and gourds in brilliant orange and green. Nearby, a road sign pointed to the village of Wilawana.

The name intrigued me. My mind wandered as I gazed at the scenery flashing by.

I couldn’t leave that name alone. It tickled my tongue and teased me into writing a poem.

An Indian doll I had seen in a folk museum flicked into memory, offering inspiration.

Lines Dreamed up on Passing a Road Sign
for Wilawana on Lake Cayuta in Autumn

By the shores of Lake Cayuta
Lived the princess Wilawana,
Daughter of the chief Sebago,
Harvester of herbs and manna.

Fair she was with ebon tresses,
Eyes as gentle as a doe.
Beads and fringe adorned her dresses,
Buckskin mocs wrapped heel and toe.

All the braves adored the princess,
Sighed as she would come and go,
Still, when one asked, “Wilawana?”
Her reply was always “No.”

Till one day a handsome hunter,
Mohawk from another tribe,
Cornered her inside the teepee,

All she said was, “Wilawana”
And flung her legs around his hips.

Now she walks around the village
Firmly tied to her papoose,
While Chief Sebago sighs and mutters,
“I was wrong to let her loose.”

Squaw dislikes her husband’s moaning
Answers loudly, full of verve,
“To name a daughter Wilawana
Gives you just what you deserve.”

Fantasy or romance? A bit of each, perhaps…but whenever I sniff the first delicious tang of autumn (and it’s a long wait in southern Arizona), it forever after invites me to a vision of icy lakes, riotous colors hypnotizing the senses, crackling leaves, and my own special, alluring Indian Princess.

Living with ghosts

Ghost walks are such fun! I’ve been on a few, in New York City and in Gettysburg, and the blend of history and spookiness makes for an unusual night. Even better if a spirit makes an appearance!

So far, the closest encounter I’ve had is with orbs. Plenty showed up in photographs along the Gettysburg walk. But a few loved ones who’ve passed on have returned in dreams, both for me and for my family. I always love to see them. It’s like being able to visit for awhile, though I miss them even more afterward.

My daughter’s boyfriend, Justin Jones (not his real name) had one of the most unusual dreams I’ve ever heard. While my daughter was helping Justin renovate the house he’d bought, built by his great grandfather James, sometimes cabinet doors would open by themselves, and they’d hear noises in the other room. It always gave my daughter the chills.

One night, Justin dreamt an old man sat on his bed and awakened him to ask, “Who are you?” Justin gave his name, and asked, “Who are you?” The old man said, “James Jones.” Justin’s great grandfather!

James asked, “What are you doing here?” and Justin replied, “I live here.” His great grandfather nodded, and said, “I’ll tell her to leave you alone then.”

When Justin told his parents about the dream, they revealed that James had had a younger sister who died as a girl. True to James’ word, no more cabinet doors opened, no more sounds from the next room. Now that gave me the chills when I heard it! I bet James and his younger sister are still there, though. Just more accepting of the new tenant. 🙂

Have you ever lived with a ghost? Or dreamed of a loved one who’d passed on?

Anora, the shepherdess, finds a half-naked man in her bed, so what’s a woman living alone in a cottage in the Lowlands of Scotland supposed to do? Prod him with her pitchfork to chase him off! Only the man is not just a traveler seeking her bed for a rest—but a wounded Highlander, who fights back, swinging his sword!

Niall MacNeill is searching for a Frenchwoman of nobility to escort to his cousin’s castle for safekeeping, when he and his friend, Gunnolf, are attacked by another Highland clan, seeking the same woman. The other Highlanders wish to sell her to the highest bidder—English or French—it does not matter.

Niall takes refuge in a sheepherder’s cottage to heal up from his wounds and discovers the shepherdess taking care of him may very well be the woman he seeks. He has no intention of doing anything but what his cousin requests of him—ensure her safety on their way to Craigly Castle—but when the lass so bravely wields her pitchfork at him, he is thinking of other, more interesting possibilities.

Having a heroine as a shepherdess is a very unique angle I’d never seen before. A woman more at home with her sheep and a dog than with her fellow man has either relationship issues or something to hide. In this case, it’s something to hide; and its discovery was an interesting journey.

Niall is kin of the Laird of Craigly castle. This tale is part of a series loosely based on following the male kin of the Laird on their rocky road towards finding their wives. So far, every single novel has been interesting, entertaining, and all are complete standalones. This one is very much a standalone read and continues the thread of a strong willed yet honorable Highland warrior finding his match in an equally strong heroine who isn’t a pushover no matter how sexy the hero might be. In Niall’s case, he’s a very determined and focused man who just happens to be sexy, and he knows it.

Anora is the unusual heroine. She’s different because she lives alone, tends her sheep and prefers her life to be exactly as it is – controlled and predictable. She’s independent, feisty, and is self-assured. Thing is, her life isn’t at all what a reader is first lead to believe. Yes, she’s hiding something. And yet, she’s not. She’s been herself for so long that being any other way is an anathema to her. Eventually, she’s going to have to face the truth and all that it entails. The heroine has choices to make and they aren’t the light and fluffy kind.

I think that’s what made Anora an interesting character. The author slowly fed me tidbits of who she might really be and as the story unfolded, allowed certain facts that supported the possibility to be revealed. It was the interaction between the heroine and Niall after each reveal that made for engrossing reading, mostly because each time something came to light, it affected their roles and their relationship to each other. It’s how they worked around it or with it to get beyond the conflict that it created which contributed to the effectiveness of the romance plot.

I enjoyed the dialogue between both Anora and Niall because it made their personalities come to life. I liked their teasing banter because it illustrated how close they were becoming. Add in the silly jibes Niall and Gunnolf traded between each other and it further reinforced how likable they all were as characters. Even Charlie, the dog, was highly entertaining and his furry personality came through quite clear. Scenes where Charlie interacted with Anora, Niall and Gunnolf were some of my favorite parts because I could “see” them happening for real. Ms. Spear wrote the dog’s antics very true to life.

Not everything jived for me during the book. I am not sure how to describe the off-note feeling I received. I thoroughly enjoyed the romance and felt it was the strongest element of the whole book. The conflict was a good choice and it was believable. It was the execution of the characters that provided some elements of the conflict that didn’t feel quite right to me. Matthew annoyed me and his actions confused me. Throw in Pierre and the Baroness and again, I wasn’t comfortable with how they were written. I think it’s possible that there was too little information about them coupled with their sudden appearance and how supposedly they were super important to the overall plot conflict that didn’t make it work for me 100%. I understand from the heroine’s POV that there was no real way to differentiate between friend or foe, especially when everyone except Niall and Gunnolf were acting as foe. That’s the feeling I got. I was waiting for the drama and suspense to feel like balancing on the edge of sharpened knife, instead it felt more like walking on a plank – only a little precarious. The only times I felt antsy with suspense were the sword fights and the river scene. Those were pretty cool and I liked that the drama and action were so strongly written. It’s a good example of the tighter quality of writing I’m used to seeing from Ms. Spear.

One thing that did not disappoint is when Anora and Niall finally take the physical step. Nothing about the heroine is typical and the same can be said for her first intimate encounter. The location and what lead up to that moment was handled in a unique and thoroughly satisfying manner. The hero is an unusual combo of practical and romantic gestures all wrapped into one sexy package.

The Highlander is a charming and delightful romance. It’s a tale filled with sexy shenanigans, dramatic sword play and interesting characters. I enjoyed getting to know the hero and heroine and felt they were the strongest component in the tale. The Highlander has an adorable happily ever after full of cheek and saucy seduction and is the perfect ending for both Anora and Niall. The book also provided hints as to the kind of woman that would intrigue Gunnolf, the Viking. His is a story that I avidly look forward to reading. I can’t even begin to imagine the kind of heroine that would fit him. The one thing that Ms. Spear always provides, no matter what, is a solid, entertaining and attention-grabbing romance. She accomplished that with this novel; I can’t wait to find out what’s next.

Part Four: The Arena

The two groups meet in a terrible and unexpected way. As Eric descends into madness, a surprising victim will face his wrath.

As the suspense continues blindly into the Arena the body count is adding up and strange things are happening to some of its members.

Jesse dreams about his granddad, Eric flashes back to his youth. I’m not sure what these tangents have to do with the plot, but for me all the extra took away from the storyline. There is already a lot going on with the plot, and with such full action bloody scenes to throw in these added bland description back in time really slowed things down. Maybe the flashbacks have to do with the monsters, or the confinements of the arena tunnels? I am still reading to find out more information about the monsters. How this new breed came about? Why did the monsters seem to single out Charly’s son? Red Elk is really wearing out the porn talk. Several spots in this section of the novel really lost it’s fizz for me.

The author continues to give great descriptions of the scenes all while keeping the suspense going on. This is part four, but I have a feeling that something more sinister will appear. Yes, I’ve made it this far with Red Elk and his group in their fight for survival, I will continue on to read part five. Let the action continue!

Their reason for leaving Spencer’s Clearing is somewhat of a mystery, but it seems to have something to do with what Naomi had done, something she cannot recall but she feels guilty and is sure it has to do with the recurring nightmare that makes her scream in her sleep.

Norman Spencer, the rich man of the group who feels he should order everyone around, and Cassie Greene, the young widow with a tiny baby and acts like a spoiled brat, are certainly memorable characters but for very different reasons. However, when the actions switches to Santa Fe, a unique story all its own unfolds with new characters—an antagonist to really, really dislike come to the fore, a remarkable, long-suffering soul to be admired comes on the scene, and adorable children who are told they are “misgotten” wiggle their way right into one’s heart.

The reader gets to see the true strength of character of both Colby and Naomi during this threatening, dangerous time.

Leigh Greenwood gives the reader all the things expected in a westward trek to new lands. He involves the reader in actions that make the heart jump up into one’s throat at times. Best of all he gives the reader a love that grows simply and steadily in every aspect of the hero and heroine—it reaches not only the emotional and physical but also the mental and spiritual—the forever kind of love that makes them strong and able to reach out to others with love and caring. To Have and To Hold is a keeper to be enjoyed more than once.

Celebrities all suffer from the same disease. I call it the create-your-own-reality disease. Most of them start out normal, like you and me, but somewhere along the way they lose sight of up and down, left and right, and then eventually right and wrong.

It’s my job to fix that.

Who hires me? Agents usually. Producers sometimes. Occasionally a spouse or other concerned family member (although I’m usually skeptical of those calls, but that’s another story). They know they can trust me to be professional, discrete, and above all, not personally involved with my clients. I come in, I take over their lives, and I get them back on track. Help them remember what it’s like to be an average Joe.

I attribute my success to my take-no-prisoner’s attitude. I don’t have time for games or playing around. I’ve closed down every job in thirty days or less, and no one, not even the most outrageous celebrity screw-up will ever change that, hard as they might try.

Your whole focus is on the penis then naturally you cipla tadalafil can be prevented from ED. At cialis australia prices that time, liver bile is forwarded into gallbladder. At some point outlines are rejected and at some point any old spe cheapest online viagrat will do. Have a look, if you too are looking to get hard or stay hard ? He can have sex and take the pleasure as well as also satisfy your needs and you can feel much better cheap viagra after taking these pills. Case in point, my latest job acquisition: his friends call him Tear-It-Up Kilgour, but I just call him Tarin – lead singer and guitarist for the band By Degrees. I have thirty days to get his butt back on planet earth before he loses his record deal, his movie contract, and possibly even his life.

I’ve never failed so far, and I don’t plan on failing this time either, even if Tarin has other ideas.

Scarlett Barnes has another name she goes by sometimes. People call her The Normalizer when they need her to take care of a certain kind of problem. A certain kind of Hollywood problem.

She is the pro and they call her The Normalizer. She is the one they call when everything else has failed. She always gets the results she wants. She is Scarlett Barnes and she does this in the memory of lover she was not able to help. Her methods are not orthodox, requiring complete control over the life of her charge. She can hire and fire people…if you are fired, you will NEVER be allowed back. This is how she can guarantee results. No one who is enabling the drug addiction will ever be allowed to destroy the work that she does rehabilitating her charge.

Tarin and his current girlfriend, Jelly, are both at the point where their impending downfall is just a breath away. The complex relationship that develops between Scarlett, Tarin and Jelly is the driving force in this story. Jelly is the enabler, refusing to admit that drugs and alcohol are killing her. Scarlett is trying to save Tarin and so Jelly must go if she continues to enable the drug use.

The author makes us feel the pain of the addict, as Jelly continues to use drugs and loses all her integrity trying to score her next fix. It’s frightening to see how her addiction had her in such a stronghold that she was physically unable to think about anything else but her next fix.

At certain points in the story, I was ready to knock Tarin in the head to make him realize how he was throwing his life away. However, as the story continued, I felt deeply for him and his struggle to clean up, as I began to understand the guilt he was carrying. The feelings Tarin and Scarlett share lead him to understand his addiction and hope for a new beginning.

This book is an honest look at drug and alcohol abuse and the effects it has on everyone’s lives. The journey is not an easy one. The author does a stupendous job of showing us how the addict has to struggle to remain sober and clean, focusing solely on controlling the urges to score or drink while reaching for life through hope of a new beginning. There is death, betrayal, suicide, but there also is renewal and hope, which in the end makes the journey worthwhile.
