Jasmine is sick in bed when a sexy stranger breaks in and reveals she’s suffering an irreversible case of vampirism. And because her turning wasn’t approved by the Council, he must kill her once the transition is complete. In the meantime, the executioner offers to ease her torment with chocolate, hot peppers or sexual release. Fortunately for them both, Jasmine’s kitchen is bare…

Corin’s honor demands he do his duty, but he cannot execute the lovely woman while any part of her humanity remains. He must also find—and kill—her sire. Jasmine denies ever having contact with a vampire, causing Corin to question the justice of his orders. Sensing his hesitation, the Council dispatches another executioner, forcing the pair to make a run for it.

Every hour they spend together—every sensual encounter they share—finds them growing closer. Now Corin will have to choose: kill the woman he loves, or go against everything he believes to set her free.

Dee Carney has written a story filled with mystery, danger and passion.

Jasmine is miserable. She has the worst case of the flu ever, and for the first time in her life, she leaves work early to head home. As a nurse, she is aware of the dangers of illness, and she also has another fear as well. During an emergency with a John Doe at the urgent care center, Jasmine suffered an accidental stick with a needle. So far, she has tested negative for AIDS, but the fear is still there in the back of her mind.

On her way home, she staggers into a handsome stranger, but is too sick to care. Later, in her apartment, she wakes to find the stranger in her apartment, tending to her. Imagine her shock and disbelief when he informs her that she has contracted an incurable case of vampirism. Not only that, but because she was turned without permission, she must be terminated in three days.

The gorgeous stranger is the executioner for the vampire Council, and he tries to learn the identity of Jasmine’s sire. For the first time in his long life, Corin doesn’t want to blindly follow his orders; he is developing feelings for the brave and beautiful woman who didn’t choose any of what is happening to her. Can Jasmine survive the transformation? Will Corin be able to find a way to save her, or will he be the instrument of her final death? Can these two find an answer to all the puzzles of Jasmine’s unusual change?

This story kept me reading long past my bedtime, because I just had to know what happened next here. The characters were well written and I enjoyed watching them go from adversaries to reluctant allies and finally to lovers. I loved that this wasn’t a predictable story, and that I didn’t see what was coming around every corner.

Jasmine is a spunky heroine. Faced with a shift to everything she has ever believed, she finds the courage to forge ahead. She is smart, sassy and determined to find a solution that she can live with, or rather die with. She is also determined to go out fighting, but she finally found the one thing worth fighting for: love.

Corin is an executioner for the Vampire Council. He is tall and handsome, and for the first time in his long life, he questions the orders he is to fulfill. He was once a Roman gladiator, and has seen much in his long life, but never love. He is noble and honorable, and comes to doubt the Council’s rules. But he isn’t sure how to save the woman he loves.

I love the strength of these characters. I kept expecting the worst, and several times I was near tears as events unfolded. I wanted this to turn out right, but there was some doubt a couple of times, before Jasmine found the key to their happy ever after. This one is filled with romance, suspense and scorching hot sex too. If you read this, keep the ice around.

Holy German Shepherds Batman! This was one hot story. I know when I open a book by J. Hali Steele, I’m in for a fantastic time. This book was no exception. He knows everything, all the angles—except Victoria. It cracked me up to see a man so obviously flustered by a strong woman. Great stuff.

Vic is a piece of work, too. She’s gutsy and courageous. I liked reading about her because she really gave Max a run for his money. I felt her pain, agony, and ecstasy. Did I say this was a fantastic read? Yeah, when I can feel like I’m in the shoes of the characters and they stay with me far after the last page, like with Max and Vic, then it’s my mark for a great book.

If you want a story chock full of unforgettable characters and tight plotlines, then you need to read Shepherd’s Watch: Protected. I guarantee it’s worth the ride.

Julietta LaSalle begrudgingly lets her almost-ex badger her into a weekend getaway at an exclusive Bahamas resort. Sexy personal trainer Collier Blair books a romantic package at the same resort, hoping to determine once and for all whether a future exists for him and his on-again, off-again date mate.

Thanks to a hotel room foul-up, Collier and Julietta wind up having the sex of their lives—in each other’s arms. Neither realizes the shocking sex-with-a-stranger “mix up” was no accident. Supernatural strings are pulled behind the scenes by the gods Love and Lust. In the immortals’ contest to prove whose powers are greater, how will Julietta and Collier come to terms with their budding feelings—and the relationship fallout from their “accidental” passion?

Many couples go on romantic getaways, but not all for the same reason. Sometimes these getaways are used as a last resort to reignite the spark that seems to have fizzled out of a relationship or to find out if the person they thought they knew is still that same person. It’s a time for focusing on your partner without any other distractions or complications, but what happens when outside forces decide to wager in on your relationship? It starts with something as simple as a room mix-up, which leads to plenty of distraction and even more complications.

Temptation Island hosted by demigods Lust and Love… let the games begin!

With the hotel’s special accommodations, Craig paid for the opportunity to reconnect with Julietta in an exciting new way, but will it be enough?

Collier and Deena have been in an off and on relationship now for a while. Collier wants to know once and for all if Deena is ready to start a monogamous relationship with him, so a little one-on-one time is in order. With the resort’s exclusivity, Collier and Deena must face their compatibility issues without interference and decide the future of their relationship.

Demigods Lust and Love have made a bet that includes these two couples, unbeknownst to them of course. Which is more powerful, the carnality of lust or the emotionally strong bonds of love?

This is my first read by J. Rose Allister and one in which I thoroughly enjoyed! She managed to write incredible circumstances set in the beautiful scenery that is the Bahamas and made it feel very real with the use of actual relationship issues. The character personalities and dialogue also felt very genuine without lacking humor, guilt, regret, and many other emotional behaviors that the reader would expect given the various situations.

After I finished reading, it left me thinking about how much uncertainty actually goes on within in a relationship and if resorting to what is familiar or comfortable is better than actually taking a risk on something new. Regardless, no one is immune to the charms of either lust or love and there are scenes of both in this story. I’m still quite surprised about the turn of events that lead to the ending and will be looking forward to reading the next installment to the series.

Estelle is a logistical expert, show her a problem and she can solve it. When she is drugged and enslaved, she looks for a way out, sending messages with every outgoing slave and hoping that one will get her plan to the Alliance in time. The escape is on, but she has been shackled to her breeding partner that very evening, linked by a chain they lead the escape until one partner goes on alone. Survivors are offered a place on an Oefric colony world. The shape shifters have a separate town from the arena survivors, and that is where their hospitality ends. Steel leads the charge to design a working village, and since she conveniently made it into the survivors and not the Alliance specialist designation when she landed, let the fun begin. Wyanic is eventually persuaded to look in on the growing village, and imagine his surprise when his true mate greets him when he thought her dead on the ship.

This is another of Viola Grace’s Terran Times stories. It is a story of survival against all odds, and of new beginnings.

Estelle “Steel” Vargas is a logistical expert for the Alliance, and can solve any problem given enough time. Taking a break at a bar, she is drugged abducted and enslaved. But throughout her captivity, she has sent messages with each departing slave trying to effect and escape with help from the Alliance.

When an attack on the arena frees Estelle, who is chained to another captive, her breeding mate Wyanic, they escape. But Estelle is injured, presumed dead and Wyanic mourns her loss. When her friends refuse to let her die, especially since she is carrying Wyanic’s daughter, Steel ends up in the survivor’s camp, and becomes their leader.

I love the world Ms. Grace has built for her unique universe, and it is ever expanding. I always wonder what new species Ms. Grace will introduce next, and in this she does not disappoint. deeprootsmag.org cialis no prescription Eating more fresh vegetables and fruits. Estelle ‘Steel’ Vargas is a survivor. She uses her logistical talent to create a new society, far from her home planet. She is determined to do whatever it takes for her little band of survivors to prosper, and begin new lives together. The sacrifices she makes, including the loss of a piece of her body to support her unborn child, are heroic. She is smart and courageous, and becomes the leader of her rag-tag group. I loved her ability to create a sense of harmony between her people.

Wyanic is a strong and passionate man. When he loses Estelle, his one true mate, he mourns her loss deeply. In spite of the urging by his friend, Wyanic secludes himself, leading his village but not interacting with them. It is only after he has been suffering a mystery illness and is convinced to seek out the healer in the other settlement that he discovers the wonders of what Steel has done. I loved his shock at discovering that his mate was alive, and his delight in impeding fatherhood. I had to laugh at what his illness turned out to be.

This is one of the best so far from the Terran Times stories. It is a tale of love, and passion, and renewal. It is a romance of survival and new beginnings, and I recommend this one to everyone.

She couldn’t believe her eyes.

Stressed out ad-exec Dakota wandered into Catamount Outfitters in search of a guide for a wilderness excursion. She didn’t expect to be greeted by not one, but five of the most ruggedly delicious-looking men she’d ever seen. Not to mention a live cougar guarding the shop.

The Falke brothers have more than just good looks in their genes.

Eldest brother Axel agrees to guide Dakota on her mountain trek. In cougar form, Axel’s twin, Gunnar, was there as a protection from predators—but he had his eye on the sexy client instead.

Into the wild…

While the rule with clients was “paws-off,” both Axel and Gunnar couldn’t resist Dakota’s seductive Native American beauty and determination. As cold days led to hot nights in the cabin, Axel and Gunnar wondered if they’d finally found a woman strong enough to tame them…

“I just needed a getaway…a vacation fling.”

When you attract the attention of two puma shifters, there is no such thing as a “fling”. As oldest brother, Axel, explains at one point, “domesticated cougars mate for life, when they’re ready”.

Litter mates and oldest of the six Falke brothers, Axel and Gunnar had not thought they were ready to settle down and reveal their family secret until they met Vegas vacationer Dakota Tokala. For her part, Dakota had the same reaction any breathing female would have had upon meeting five of the Falke brothers all at once: embarrassing case of the stares, slightly breathless and difficulty speaking. The only member of the Falke household she wasn’t thrilled about meeting was the live cougar, apty named Falke, that guarded the store and travelled with them on the hiking expedition. I could easily picture myself behaving the same way in her situation. I appreciate that the authors did not have her appearing overly confident in the face of an otherwise wild animal or such gorgeous male specimens.

While Dakota is initially hesitant to get to close to the cougar, Falke, she has no problems at all with encouraging her guide, Axel. I liked her self-sufficient can-do attitude. The authors do not over-do her independent personality allowing the men the opportunity to get to know her a little better.

The descriptions of the scenery as well as the attention to details are well plotted out in this enjoyable novella and yet I was left feeling that the story was rushed. There was sufficient opportunity if the authors had chosen to draw out the story for the sake of adding pages but it might have come off as filler rather than necessary story points.

Falke’s Peak appears to be the first in the Puma Nights series. If Ms. Layle and Ms. Keaton stay true to form in regards to the mating customs for these big cats then there should be at least two more books for the remaining brothers and hopefully a third book for their sister Heidi. I would really like to get to know this family better and look forward to the next installment.

‘In the Zone’ is a phrase you will often hear writers use.  But what does that mean?  How do they achieve it?  And can they sustain it?

india cheapest tadalafil When you have taken a tablet, you may be inclined to take another one believing it will enhance your sex life. It is very important that the end user must weigh the doses using a precision scale and should avoid guessing, there were several users who did not do the job the way it truly is anticipated to, even so researchers observed by way of testing a specified fascinating side results and it is strictly a matter of cialis in uk online personal choice and preference. Although this sounds a kind of far-fetched, there is cialis 5 mg have a peek at these guys actually something true to this claim. One type of flavonoids is icariin, which generic cialis mastercard can directly help in erection problems.

I can almost hear some readers shouting, “Of course! You only have to look at mega-successful writers to know they can sustain it.”
Okay, so let’s take a closer look at the first two questions.
What is ‘The Zone’?
For writers it is the period when their writing flows.  A time when everything appertaining to their writing goes right, goes smoothly.  The plot unfolds in a way that enriches the story.  Even the most hardened plotter knows when to give the characters their head, or to follow their plot when it goes off at an unexpected tangent.  Something within convinces them that to ignore this new facet of the story would be detrimental.
For many writers, hitting ‘the zone’ is sporadic but for others it is almost the norm.  No, I am not implying there are authors out there who go through their writing careers without coming up against blocks and setbacks when their characters refuse to comply with the synopsis set out before writing a single word.  Every writer hits a black spot of their own at some time in their career. Most smash into it more often than they’d like!
So what can a writer do to experience the flow of the zone more often? Almost, in fact, on demand.
Meditate.
Meditation is not the product of the flower-power hippy sixties era.  Meditation goes back for millennium and has been practiced in the Orient by billions of people over time.
It is far too complex a subject to cover in depth here, but meditation is a means of training the mind to focus.
It is used by the most powerful people in board rooms across the world and by the poorest in the deepest recesses of the countryside.  The goals they strive for may seem poles apart, but in reality both the powerful and the poor, when they meditate, are striving for focus and discipline over their own minds. They have learned not to become prisoners of their mind or their subconscious.
I am not talking about mind games here, but a conscious effort to train and discipline the mind to work towards your own benefit.
When a writer slips into The Zone, they are in effect, slipping into a form of meditation.  The place every writers yearns to be.  And can be.
There are so many different forms of meditation that even offering links with this blog is not the simple solution it may appear. [Simply put ‘meditation’ into Google and see what comes up.]
Meditation is a powerful tool that can help writers find and maintain that wonderful place known as ‘The Zone’, not just when the muse co-operates, but whenever, you, the author, calls upon the power of meditation to help with your writing.
Meditation has become an integral and successful part of life for people from all walks of life, so why not writers?
Why not explore the benefits of a regular meditation program that will take up little of your time and increase the chances to enjoy experiencing ‘the zone’ more often while you write?

Tate Walker’s past is too painful to just disappear, even if his dream boy, Brian Cooper, is there to hold his hand. Brian does his best, but Talker—always good at avoiding his own pain—is having a hard time facing the truth about what happened when he trusted the wrong man at the wrong time.

When that truth resurfaces and lands Brian in the hospital, Talker is forced to make a choice. He can either confront every demon in his fragile, bleeding heart, or he can let Brian take the heat for him, just like he has from the beginning. But even Talker knows you don’t leave your dream boy alone and undefended when he just saved your life, and he’ll have to find the strength to take care of Brian when Brian needs him the most.

If you’re looking for a heart-wrenching read that has you reaching for the Kleenex this story is for you.

Author Amy Lane outdid herself with Talker’s Redemption. This is the follow up to the first book in the series Talker, which takes place six months later. This story is told from Talker aka Tate’s point of view.

We learned from the first story that Talker is emotionally and physically scarred from a terrible past and this story picks up where the last story left off. Here we see what happens after the happy ever after. The story starts with Talker at a therapy session with his boyfriend, Brian. Talker was the victim up date rape six months prior and he is in denial over what happened to him. He can’t even admit to himself that he was raped. Talker’s like most rape victims, he believes it is his fault for what happened and feels he can’t say he was raped because he choose to go out with his attacker.

Talker is a hyperactive kind of guy always jumping from thought to thought and quick to react to situation in order to hide what he is feeling. When talking with Dr. Sutherland he will only refer to that night as the worst date ever and shrugs it off like it was no big deal. It’s frustrating because as you read you get a look into the internal struggle Talker is going through and how damaged he is. He puts out this persona that everything is fine and he doesn’t see the hurt and pain everyone around him is going through.

Talker doesn’t see the strain his denial is putting on his boyfriend Brian. Brian has been there for Talker in the aftermath of the rape and sees the hurt and pain he is going through. Brian is Talker’s shoulder to lean on and protector. Brian’s character is kind of dry in that he doesn’t say a lot or show emotion often, but when he does its explosive.

The vengeance Brian took against Talker’s attacker six months ago comes back to haunt them both when Talker’s attacker comes seeking retribution against Brian for the beating he gave him six months ago and Brian ends up in the hospital. This puts into motion Talker having to come to terms with what happened to him in order to protect Brian. Brian is Talker’s only family so he will do anything to keep him safe. There is nothing to worry because the online pharmacies are considered the store, and because of the fact that the herbs are free from any order cialis from canada side-effect generated by the medicine. But purchase viagra in uk turning down of a man in the bedroom lately, you might want to consider getting help to treat your problem. Until Brian came along Talker didn’t know what it was like to be loved. You find yourself rooting for this couple to make it and overcome this terrible act of violence. This may sound corny but the way it’s written you can feel the love these characters share for one another and you want them to have their happy ever after beyond this terrible time in their lives.

The writing in this story was excellent. You get a glimpse into what a rape victim is feeling and goes through. This book does make reference to Talker’s rape. It is not described in graphic detail but it is discussed. I felt myself getting angry for Talker. He’s a sweet, kind and friendly soul who has been dealt a raw deal throughout his life. You can relate to him because like everyone else he is just looking to be accepted and find love.

What I didn’t like about this book is the jumping around with current and flashback scenes. It got a little confusing to me at times and I struggled to figure out what was going on. The story is a fast read so if you read it in one sitting you shouldn’t have a problem following along.

What I loved about this book is that you get to see a person pushed down by life over and over again overcome their demons and come out stronger in the end. I also like that in this book it wasn’t plagued with unnecessary sex scenes. There was only one sex scene in the book between Talker and Brian. It was beautifully written and that was all that was needed; anymore would have taken away from the love story between these two characters. So if you’re looking for a lot of hot, kinky sex you will not find it in this book. This a story of good overcoming the bad and the love and respect shared between the two main characters.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend it. If you’re looking for a heartwarming read this is the book for you. It is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone but if you want a better understanding of the characters and to see what led them to where they are now, you should check out Talker.

Sheriff Todd Zelner thought it best to use his dragon abilities, rather than his badge, to break up a sex slave ring. But Todd, Gabriel and six of their dragon friends aren’t prepared for what they find when they raid the facility. With more survivors than anticipated, each dragon decides to take several home to care for and protect.

While freeing the men, Todd catches the gaze of the lightest blue eyes he’s ever seen staring back at him. As he releases the broken, beaten man from his cage, Todd discovers he’s a mute who has shared the cage with two other survivors. Dylan, Seth, and Bryce are coming home with Todd.

Can a dragon who’s spent over a millennium alone find a way to help three gorgeous and abused men?

The first book of this series was great, and this story just keeps the momentum going.

Sheriff Todd is a character introduced in the first story and I was more than giddy to see that he was getting his chance at love with not one but three mates. All of these men had qualities unique to themselves and behavior that was solely their own. I was happy to see that with so many lead characters they didn’t all seem to have the same identity, which I am sure can easily happen with four men. These unique attributes do not just include their personalities but also their sexual pleasures. With so many bodies intertwine it really helped to know what each liked in the bedroom because it made the act comprehensible. We were introduced to the slave sex ring in the first series and this one keeps that sub-plot going. It added a certain familiarity to this story that I appreciated. This was also not the only plot in the story. As with all romance stories the relationship itself is a plot, but Todd also has one of his own to deal with. I think that these various storylines add depth to the story and allows you to understand the relationship develop and main plot better.

If you are unfamiliar with Joyee Flynn than you are missing some excellent erotic scenes. All of the stories I have read by this author include kink and sensuality that leaves me breathless. This story is no exception and with four men, you know it got kinky. She provides mind blowing rough sex and slow meticulous lovemaking so no matter how you like your erotic scenes you’ll get it in this story. There is some pain play involved in some of the encounters, but they are done in an extremely tasteful way that only heightened the scene.

I knew when reading the first paragraph that Dragon Ours was going to be a great story and I was right. I cannot wait to get more of this series!

See, Chase doesn’t know she’s a shifter. Yet. She hasn’t quite gotten to that part. So now all she has to do is this—go on the date, not look directly at him, not touch him, no kissing, no hugging. Tada! Easy.

Until he touches her. Then touches her some more. And then she touches him and… Well, this isn’t going to be easy at all. Damn.

The little mental pep talks she gives herself kept me laughing from the first page to the last. Poor May tries her best to fight her urge to jump the unsuspecting Chase in human form much less in bobcat skin and even goes to extremes to rid her body of the built up tension. She actually gets a seriously funny lisp when she is just about to lose all control of her inner kitty. Chase is a sweetheart of a hero and does an admirable job of keeping his cool when faced with an obviously neurotic date but since he is keeping his own secrets I guess he has reason to show some patience. I don’t want to tell you too much because this is a short story but it is so worth the read.

I’ve read several books by Ms. Marsden and the witty dialogue and fun engaging characters seem to be a hallmark of her writing style. She may just be the queen of the double entendre. She has made a sincere fan of this reviewer and I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for her next installment.

Can a dark virgin beauty condemned to die break preconceived notions in order to give a guardian angel an incubus’s kiss?

Hunted since her illegitimate birth, Keiranna DeKnight spends her entire life running from guardians of the council. Half incubus, she uses venom to seduce “victims” in an erotic dream while she absorbs their energy to survive. Yet, being half angel, only the sexual energy of an archangel can fully satisfy her need. Through this dichotomy, she remains a physical virgin.

Cassiel is High Guardian Keeper of the Aequitas Dominion prison. To him, the orders and laws are finite. But when he sees the newest prisoner, he begins to question his eternal mission.

Would a chance for love be worth your wings? What happens when good and evil collide? A whole lot of gray area. Things aren’t always black and white, as Cassiel, High Guardian Keeper of Aequitas Dominion Prison discovers.

Cassiel prides himself on being firm but fair. He doesn’t abide torture of the prisoners, or insubordination by lower angels. What he doesn’t expect is the sexual energy emanating from his latest inmate to affect him so much. The dark beauty hanging within the cell causes his body to react in ways it shouldn’t, and his mind to entertain thoughts that could land him in a cell of his own. The pressure exerted on the blood vessels and generic levitra capillaries cuts down the blood supply to the penile organ, which can affect the married life of both men and women. generic viagra discount However, one should not overdo. While he’s permitted to satisfy his physical needs with a fellow angel, emotions are forbidden. But Cassiel wants more than bodily satisfaction; he wants Keiranna in every way imaginable.

Hunted since birth, Keiranna has made it a point to avoid angels at all costs. Seems unfair to find complete satisfaction means giving herself to one who seems Hell bent on making her a prisoner for eternity. Poked, prodded, and whipped without mercy by one guard after another, she doesn’t expect much else from the High Guardian. She certainly doesn’t expect him to care about her innocence, and is even more shocked about his proposed “assessment.”

Unholy Angel was an interesting read. The first few pages were a bit of a struggle, as I tried to connect with the characters and their setting. But once I got my bearings, the story quickly grew enthralling. The author’s depiction of angels, demons, and their duties was a refreshing twist from the norm. Even in a realm where beings are supposed to be “pure”, you find corruption and lies. I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s creativity and praise her on a wonderful tale.

Unholy Angel is a wonderful depiction of how love can cross the line between enemies.
