Miles Ryan’s life seemed to end the day his wife was killed in a hit-and-run accident two years ago. As deputy sheriff of New Bern, North Carolina, he not only grieves for her and worries about their young son Jonah but longs to bring the unknown driver to justice. Then Miles meets Sarah Andrews, Jonah’s second-grade teacher. A young woman recovering from a difficult divorce, Sarah moved to New Bern hoping to start over. Tentatively, Miles and Sarah reach out to each other…soon they are falling in love. But what neither realizes is that they are also bound together by a shocking secret, one that will force them to reexamine everything they believe in-including their love.

Once again get out your hankies for this wonderful Nicholas Sparks story. This one is a love story, a mystery, and one about doing the right thing even if it’s going to cost you everything.

The story begins with Miles Ryan who lost his wife to a hit and run driver and now is raising his son, Jonah, all by himself. He’s still grieving and another person who’s trying to start life over again is school teacher Sarah who’s recovering from a divorce.

Both of these people are wonderful characters and as the story unfolds you follow along as they slowly fall in love. However, as always, the road to true love is never smooth. The person who hit and killed Miles’ wife was never caught and it’s become somewhat of an obsession for him to find out who was responsible.

Weaved through this story is a first person account told by the guilty party about what happened the night of the accident.

The story takes a wonderful turn when someone is arrested and offers information about who killed Miles’ wife and gradually things begin to fall apart for Miles and Sarah. From there on in, the story is a roller coaster of emotions. I did have a slight inkling who the guilty party was but it was still a page turner to see how everything played out and if Miles and Sarah would have their happily ever after.

If you love a good romance, small town setting, and a splash of mystery, I’d say definitely read this story.

In 1863, America is war-weary. Fifteen-year-old Saffron Fitzpatrick, whose teenage years have been spent mourning the dead rather than dancing at her debutante ball, just wants to visit her beloved horse after being housebound due to the draft riots. A chance meeting with soldier Ezekiel Boone changes everything.

Three years ago, Ezekiel ran away with his older brothers to join the war effort, welcoming the chance for adventure. But when all four of his brothers die at Chancellorsville, he retreats home, despondent and depending on the kindness of strangers, like Saffron, who help him on the journey. They share a wild ride and a breathless kiss, parting with fond memories.
It cialis 10mg would sometimes work and sometimes not. But ayurvedic remedies for vaginal discharge problem india cialis online are very much effective in treating and improving your impotence. Keep expectations about performance away viagra on line icks.org in your sex life. This natural remedy is also less expensive as compared to generic viagra canada.
Fate reunites the couple three years later, and their former attraction rekindles as they discover unexpected common ground and begin to build a relationship. But though the war is over, a future together may still elude them … especially if Saffron’s older, protective brother and the U.S. Army have anything to say about it.

The war separated Saffron and Zeke once. Will the army tear them apart a second time?

Saffron and Zeke meet under unusual circumstances, and their emotions lead them into sharing an innocent yet intense first kiss that neither of them forgot. Three years later they find themselves face to face again. While they’ve both reminisced about that kiss, they don’t really know much about each other. Will reality be able to live up to their dreams?

I must admit that I have mixed feelings about Saffron. While it is clear she has a good heart, I think she has a lot of growing up to do. She strikes me as childish despite her insistence on being treated as an adult. One passage describes her “stamping her slippered foot.” This action is more suited to a child throwing a tantrum rather than a young woman. I also wanted more emotional depth from Saffron. The Civil War was extremely brutal and Saffron and Zeke are tasked with digging up the remains of soldiers and bringing them back to be buried in cemeteries. This would have been a particularly gruesome undertaking, but Saffron doesn’t seem to be affected by it, or at least there is no evidence of it as I read. Despite these issues, I am happy to say that by the end of the story, I saw glimmers of the mature woman Saffron has the potential to become. I can’t give details without spoiling the story, but I will say that Saffron supports Zeke in two particularly difficult circumstances.

Zeke is an easy hero to warm up to. He in kind, generous, and always willing to help. He shoulders immense responsibility at a young age. When his brothers die, he returns to the family farm even though he never imagined himself farming for the rest of his life. He does it because his family needs him. Zeke is certainly an admirable young man.

While I believe that Zeke and Saffron have the potential to be a great couple, their relationship never really flared to life for me. Again, I must cite Saffron’s immaturity as the chief obstacle in my mind. Zeke is more rounded and has much more emotional depth. When I compare him to Saffron and her somewhat spoiled attitude, I have a hard time picturing them as a truly compatible couple. However, I will say that Saffron is determined to prove her love for Zeke and she does this by fiercely supporting him when a weaker woman would have deserted him. I believe in time that they will grow into a strong couple.

The Forgotten Debutante is a good book. Zeke and Saffron are sweet and their happy ending is certainly deserved. While this story is the ninth in a series, it stands alone well as Ms. Lower explains everything very clearly. Fans of historical romance might want to give The Forgotten Debutante a try.

Thaine’s best friend, Jesse, calls Jerry. He thinks it’s a pretty crappy thing to do to the new boyfriend, but tells himself it’s unlikely Jerry will come after so many years. At first they pick up their intense physical relationship right where they left it before the breakup. Jesse, in turn, consoles the now homeless Drew and offers him quite a bit more than a shoulder to cry on. But in the back of all the men’s minds loom Thaine’s lost five years.

Four cowboys and one accident that changes all of their lives. When bull rider Thaine wakes up from a bull riding accident that takes away five years of his memories he asks for Jerry but there is one problem, he and Jerry broke up years ago. What happens next will change everything. Thaine remembers nothing of his time with the young man named Drew and goes back with Jerry to try and heal. Drew turns to the one man who has always been around. Thaine’s best friend Jesse. Will Thaine every regain his memories and what will become of Drew? Can love find its way into these four men’s hearts or is it the end of the ride for them?

As much as I like this author this story was not one of my favorite stories. When Thaine lost his memories it seems that instead of trying to figure things out and where he stood with Drew he just up and ran away, leaving Drew with no thought to his feelings at all. I enjoyed seeing Jesse and Drew find their way but found that I did not connect to Jerry and Thaine at all. Their reconnection was a nice read but the way it was brought about did not make for a “feel good” story. I did enjoyed watching Drew find a way towards happiness after all that he goes through. The four men learn just how strong love can be and what it takes to keep it. Although one of these couples’ stories was not for me I still found enjoyment in this read.

Can triumph be borne out of tragedy? Where there’s life, there’s always hope.

A motorcycle accident has Danielle questioning everything in the never-ending days while she waits for Luke to wake up. Is this really where their destiny has led them both?

I found this to be an interesting short story. The start was a little clunky to my mind – while we open in the present day we fairly quickly move back in time to Danielle and Luke meeting. While I feel the author tried to make this regression seamless, I personally find it easier to follow time-jumps (even small ones of a few months like this) if there’s some sort of sub-heading – or “Three Months Ago…” to mark where the time has changed. The normal “asterisk break” simply signifies a normal scene change to me, so I got a little lost at the start.

Aside from this though I enjoyed the story. I liked Danielle and thought the meeting up with Luke was different and fun. Although they got together quickly, I expected it to happen fast given the length of the story. I would have loved a little more time to be spent on Luke’s recovery – instead of jumping ahead in time maybe have had Luke and Danielle talk about their future, make some plans. Considering Luke’s accident was where the story started I feel it would have been a bit more satisfying to spend more than just a few pages in that place before jumping back and forth.

Readers should know there was one creepy scene – certainly not horror (to my mind) but enough to make me shiver. For an otherwise happy, fluffy and light romance story I found it a little jarring – though it definitely gave the story a unique twist and will remain memorable to me.

The author managed to mix good characters, an interesting plot and inject just a little bit of small-town psycho into a story in a very small number of words. All up this made the story lovely to read in my mind. Overall I enjoyed it and would definitely look for more by this author.

“Irredeemable” is what Elle McCoy, a lawyer in the prosecutor’s office, calls Deputy Gabe Dawson. She’s known him since high school when he, even then, was cocky, swaggering, arrogant and handsome with girls chasing him.

The anti-cop antagonist Jed Moore, with his deranged way of thinking, made this reader’s flesh crawl. The author does a wonderful job of making Jed’s character mean. What Jed has done to his own family, emotionally, mentally, and physically, is horrific.

I admit I put this good story down for a time because of the over use of crude words that did not seem to fit characters who prayed in church and who spent their time protecting and defending people. But the plot and the characters I’d come to care about pulled me back. I really wanted to know how Gabe and Elle got their happy-ever-after and to be sure Jed got his comeuppance.

The back story, the intrigue, the undercurrent of unease, the action, and the romance were well woven together to create suspense on several levels.

Rafe Zakas is hoping Zoey will consider being their fourth. He needs something more from his two lovers and Zoey is just what he thinks he needs to help him settle down. There is a void she seems to fill within him, and it’s up to Zoey to decide if she’s okay with their new found love and unconventional lifestyle, or will she stick to the life she’s used to?

Zoey has always wanted to be part of a threesome or an orgy and a drunken dare by her two best friends finally gives her the opportunity to really let loose and try it out. Will it be everything she hopes for?

This was an interesting and very sexy short story. I liked Zoey’s character – there was so much potential to her and I was excited to get to know her better. I really wished we got to spend more time with her and that the author had fleshed out her character more. I was extremely surprised that even though this was Zoey’s story a large chunk of the book was spent with Heidi (one of Zoey’s two best friends) in the spotlight. An entire chapter was spent with Heidi and her husband Nathan and their ménage lover, Rafe, and there were also short scenes that didn’t involve Zoey at all. In a 54 page book, I really felt this was critical words and space that should have been focused on Zoey or Zoey and Rafe together – not Heidi.

This all made the story really feel more like an extension of Heidi’s (which was covered in book 1) and made me feel like Zoey was almost a strong secondary character. I had a lot of curiosity about Zoey and wish we could have explored her character further, considering this was “her” book. Why was Zoey’s ultimate sexual fantasy that of a ménage/moresome? How did she go about seeking this in the down-time when the story was focused on Heidi and not Zoey? What was her attraction to Rafe and how did they interact together? I really wanted more focus to be on this. There was so much happening “off camera” that it felt like I missed out on big chunks of the story – Zoey and Rafe getting to know each other better and Zoey exploring the swingers club, both of these felt critical to the plot and progress of the story and yet both were really only mentioned in passing – not in detail. I feel this was a huge opportunity that was left unexplored.

About half way through I decided to stop questioning everything and just disengage my brain. Once I simply read the story as it was portrayed I did enjoy the sexy scenes and I have to admit the writing itself was really good. As a fun, hot foursome story this ticks a lot of the boxes, sex wise. If you’re a reader who can ignore curiosity and just enjoy a sexy story for the sex, this is definitely a good book to try. I enjoyed the foursome scenes – I felt they were hot and well paced. Zoey and Rafe were both smoking hot and clearly attracted to each other. Rafe was also obviously deeply in love with both Nathan and Heidi and the menage scene between the three of them was sexy too.

You don’t necessarily have had to read the first book in the series to enjoy this story. There’s a lot of repeated information around both the dare and how Zoey, Heidi and Meagan are friends. I was pleased for the happy ending and the foursome scenes were hot and well worth the read. Megan’s story is the third (and presumably last) in this series and I’m still curious enough to check it out.

He is detremined to keep her safe amidst an interstellar war between their two worlds.

I liked the main couple in this romance simply because of the unconditional way they accepted and supported each other. Chevon and Laura just wanted to be together and hopefully help to end the war between their people.

This story had some low suspense, loads of romance and steamy sex. It was entertaining and had a very nice epilogue, which is always appreciated by this reader.

But when she learns her mother is dying, she drags her twelve-year-old daughter back to hell on earth, also known as Barnesville. Once again caught in small town life amongst old friends and enemies, her past comes back to haunt her, turning her world upside down as the question still remains. Who is the father of her child?

For a small town, Barnesville seems to have its share of small town chaos. Gillian Crane is summoned to her home town due to her mother’s illness. Will this visit allow Gillian to be able to reconcile relationships from her past along with discover who’s her daughter’s father?

I have mixed feelings about this book. Barnesville is a nice small town and the story was believable in that aspect. The small town people and closeness of such. Everyone knows everyone, the gossip mill and the picture of the legendary Main Street; the location for the family restaurant and church. I found it puzzling that Gillian came back to town because her mother was sick, but Gillian’s purpose seemed more about who was her daughter’s father. What mother wouldn’t want a father for her daughter? Gillian’s prom night left her inebriated and pregnant. Now Gillian has found the courage to find out what happened that night.

Gillian’s mother is sick and the story really didn’t touch much on why the relationship between Gillian and her mother Rachel was dysfunctional. For Rachel to be on her death bed I would have expected her to be more compassionate and wanting to leave with her daughter’s relationship in a better place. There was no resolution or feelings to the mother-daughter relationship. Since this is such a touchy matter, as a reader I would have liked to have been given more about why there was such a strain on this relationship.

Gillian wasn’t aware of the feelings Andrew had for her. She has always had her eyes set on Lucas. For some reason Gillian’s mom decides now is the time to reveal family secrets and this leads Gillian’s pursuit to turn towards Andrew. This made her seem desperate and in urgent need of a man. Once Gillian and Andrew start their relationship it moves so fast it was very difficult to believe. The story was set in length to possibly keep the reader in suspense, but to me it was pretty predictable.

The writing is good and told in a easy to read format. The plot is interesting and one that had my attention to know why Gillian didn’t know who was the father of her child. There’s something about stories that take place in small towns that I find very likable. The plot was one that had a few holes in it to me but overall this is an enjoyable quick read with a resolution for Gillian. If you enjoy a book with a happy ending of love this is a book you will want to add to your reading list.

Wynn is an expert at keeping the world at arm’s length, but when it comes to Annamae, the only way he can keep her safe is to keep her very, very close.

The Wedding Audition was a quick, fun, easy, and enjoyable read. All the characters were believable and likable. They often made me laugh out loud especially the conversation between Annamae’s mother and grandmother outside the hoedown dance. The relationship between the main characters, Annamae and Wynn, progressed nicely with little conflict and made me feel all warm and fuzzy. I wouldn’t mind getting involved with a man like that. I particularly enjoyed their easy banter with each other.

I thought the plot was a bit predictable and a tad unrealistic but the characters made me look past all that. The suspense of Annamae and Wynn hiding out for different reasons kept me turning pages. The happy ending left me feeling overall satisfied. It was nice to read a romance book that didn’t stir any anguished feelings or over the top drama.

There were two external conflicts that haunted Annamae and Wynn individually that for the most part, worked. The final confrontation from Wynn’s plot arc was a bit anticlimactic because it didn’t deliver what the story led me to believe would happen. Even though It didn’t meet my expectations, it was no less entertaining.

On the whole, The Wedding Audition was delightfully cheesy, really funny and was well written. It’s a nice, simple, perhaps cookie cutter type plot, but it’s an enjoyable story to escape into. I was delighted by the chemistry between Annamae and Wynn and was happy with the conclusion of their romance.

After an embarrassing encounter with her roommate Nathan, Heidi Taylor is in major need of a drink and a place to hide. She calls in her two closest friends, Zoey and Meagan to help rescue her. After they meet at a bar and the liquid courage sets in, she comes up with an unusual plan in the form of a dare for each one of them.

Heidi fell in love with a man who’s off limits and she’s afraid to tell him how she really feels—until a bet is made and her friends challenge her to make a move. But Nathan De Costa makes it easy on her when he suggests she needs a little spice in her love life, and designates himself as her something spicy.

Heidi, Zoey and Meagan are best friends. Half drunk at a girl’s night out, the three agree to complete a dare made by the others within a certain timeframe. Heidi has been lusting after her roommate, Nathan, forever. So when Zoey and Meagan dare her to tell Nathan of her feelings she’s nervous but knows it’s well beyond time she tell him. Can they move from friends to more without ruining the relationship?

This is a fun short story filled with plenty of sizzle. I was really interested in how different Nathan’s character was. Far from the usual hero material, Nathan had – from my perspective at least – multiple anti-hero style characteristics. He was cocky and full of self-assurance, plus he was a bit of a man-whore. Despite all this Heidi is deeply in love with him and from the first few pages I was eager to see how the author would get these two together, but more importantly how Nathan would stack up being the hero. I felt deeply intrigued at all the conflicting parts of the scenario – the hero who wasn’t a hero, the heroine who was shy but still owned her sexuality. It was refreshing and a very different outlook.

I ended up a little confused about Nathan’s sexuality – it was never fully explained whether he was bi or just loved people and sex of all flavours. I also was a little disappointed in that I didn’t really end up buying that Nathan genuinely loved Heidi when they finally got together. They’d been living platonically for three years and while the chemistry was there, he hadn’t felt strongly enough about her to act on it. Additionally, he’d had plenty of “love em and leave em” relationships – and tons of M/M flings as little as a week before declaring his love for Heidi. The change was just too drastic for me to find it believable. Additionally, the moment things stop going his way, Nathan reverted back to what he knew (carefree flings) so this made me seriously question the strength of his feelings. Both Nathan and Heidi were too caught up in their passion and the newness of it all for me to feel this new loving relationship between them was properly explained.

A part of me really wishes this book had been full length. I’d have loved a bit more time and background into both Zoey’s and Meagan’s dares being set up. I fully understand why a bit more time and a slower pace is impossible with such a short word length – but I really felt there was so much left unexplored it just felt a shame the pace moved so quickly and there wasn’t more time devoted to fleshing out the details. The conflict between Nathan and Heidi really felt like it appeared almost out of nowhere. In this scene especially I feel more time and explanation would have changed this from making me feel a bit confused into having the scene help build the solid relationship between Nathan and Heidi and make it far more believable for me. I still fully enjoyed the quick, sharp ride the author took us on – but a part of me would have found the story more satisfying if we’d been able to relax and enjoy some of the key scenes more thoroughly.

When Nathan and Heidi finally get together properly – the heat level is scorching and the pace really ramps up. It’s a wild ride and I fully intend to look out for Zoey and Meagan’s story too.
