Arcanium’s greatest illusion is that there’s any illusion at all…

When an old flame returns to Arcanium in the company of her own magical circus, Illumina, offering an alliance, Bell initially considers the merger an opportunity for much-needed change.

However, with Illumina comes Maya, who has lost her memories not just of Locke’s Arcanium but all her time with Bell—love, guilt, wishes, everything. Having her memories removed leaves Maya with too large a gap in her mind that she’s desperate to fill, and she knows that Bell, of all the people in Arcanium, can give her the information she’s missing.

Bell still loves Maya and spends every day trying to atone for the pain he caused her and the rest of his cast. In spite of her frustration, she’s happiest without him, without the memories that once nearly destroyed her. If Illumina is to become part of Arcanium, he has no choice. He has to keep his distance, because she doesn’t know why she should run as far away as she can from Arcanium—and from Bell.

Even so, resisting Maya is almost too much for him to bear.

Once again, we find ourselves in the world of Arcanium where Bell rules and the consequence for breaking his rules are harsh. Yet even Bell has a heart and a conscience. He has learned from his mistakes and works hard at making his circus safe and a happy place for those in it. When an old friend and lover returns to Arcanium with her own cast that includes Maya, Bell must make the hard choice of opening his doors or shutting them. His own heart lays in the choice and he could lose it all over again if he is not careful.

I was both excited and sad to see this book come out as it is the last in the Arcanium series. I enjoyed returning to this world and its characters. As much as I enjoyed this book, there were a few points where the story dragged on a bit too much, and there were characters made to stand out, it seems, just for the purpose of being annoying. It worked. This story brings readers full circle and back to the beginning. It is centered around Bell and Maya of course, and as with all the books in this series, there are major twists and turns.

This book is an interesting way to end the series and the author has made a great world with memorable characters that I fell in love with and hope to see again in the future.

Neither of them guesses that the Fairy Shop will be the source of far more than Delly’s courage. On Christmas Eve, under the influence of a very unusual fairy, Nate’s life will change forever.

I enjoyed The Fairy Shop by Tara Lain. It is a sweet story about finding courage and love. Nate has been taking care of his young daughter after her mother had an altercation with an abusive boyfriend and now the young girl is afraid of big men. On a rare night out, Nate meets Asher and the attraction is immediate, but Asher is a big man and Nate knows that his daughter would be terrified of Asher. The author does a great job of bringing the Christmas spirit out in this story leaving readers feeling good and believing in a little magic as well.

Right from the start the young man brings out the protectiveness in Luke and it seems that everyone, but Skye and Luke can see that they are a perfect match. Can the two find their way to each other or will they let their happy ever after slip through their fingers?

I enjoyed the way Skye and Luke’s relationship took shape. Skye is new to the lifestyle and still figuring out just what he likes and wants. It was nice to see Skye grow with the help of Luke. He blossoms into a strong submissive who enjoys himself. The two have fun as they figure out their relationship and we clearly see the love that they feel for each other. The two men fit together nicely, and I liked seeing them work through their emotions and find what they are looking for. As we watch Skye and Luke find their way, we are also treated to what is happening at the Retreat.

I enjoyed the interaction of everyone at the Retreat. The camaraderie between all the men was a nice addition to the story. When Neve enters Arcanium, her six-month marriage is already on the rocks, in part because of her complete lack of interest in sex. However, after making a frustrated wish in front of the fortune teller, she seethes with sexual desire that calls the Arcanium strongman straight into her bed and pulls her into the circus and under its jinni owner’s thumb.

Neve is unprepared for the onslaught of lust coming at her from every side—from the sex demons that charge the circus with excruciating sexual tension to her exhibit in the haunted funhouse, where hands stroke her sensitized skin for hours on end without relief. What’s worse, the jinni has more insidious plans for her in the secret Funhouse, private esoteric events where Arcanium can go as far as it wants.

But after a lifetime of combating men’s objectification of her, fighting to be seen as a person rather than as something to seduce, her new raging libido and the impulses that accompany it make the effort all the more difficult. Among the free-spirited and tempting cast of Arcanium, Neve struggles to determine what she’s willing to become.

Neve has lived her life free from the effects of sex and want but one simple misplaced wish brings her into the Arcanium circus. Bell has given her a gift or what one would call a curse and Mikhail is the true man that can help her, but Neve is not so ready to give in to her body’s wants and needs. As Neve finds her place in the circus it seems there are others out there like Bell that have taken notice of her. What will become of Neve and will she survive what Bell has given to her?

Neve’s story is another engaging tale in the Arcanium series. This story revolves around a young lady who never felt any want or need for sex and is given just the opposite from Bell, now sex is all Neve can think about and she is never satisfied. We are along for the ride as Neve tries to learn to control her needs. I really liked Neve she is a smart woman that is not afraid to stand up for herself. She takes what has been done to her and deals with it. Mikhail is a good man but has to do what he must to live and he tries hard to give Neve the space that she needs as she comes to terms with what has happened. I enjoyed seeing the other side of Mikhail and beginning to see what kind of man he truly is.

As Neve learns the ins and outs of the circus we also get to see more from the other inhabitants and their relationships. As Neve begins to settle in as much as one can into the circus readers get to see more of what is going on in it. Bell has his reasons for doing things the way he does but he is not sharing, and it is costing him much. We watch as time and time again Bell hurts people without realizing how much pain it costs and soon it may end up costing Bell. Once again it seems that there is another with powers like Bell that has taken an interest in the circus players and I am eager to see where the author will take this plot line in future books. This is only the beginning of Neve’s story and it does contain some explicit scenes, even one containing tentacles. If you are easily offended this is not a story for you but if you are like me and love a great story full of strong characters and on the risqué side this is one you will enjoy. The author has done a great job keeping this series fresh with each new cast member. Funhouse is a great addition to the Arcanium series

He is not going to give up on his dreams and that includes a life with Trey. As Demi and Trey try to figure it all out danger comes calling. It seems that they may still have an enemy out there that is determined to find a way to take over.

I have enjoyed watching Trey and Demi’s relationship develop throughout this series and it was nice to see the two get their story told. Trey has been trying so hard to be the noble one and not act on his attraction to Demi who he sees as too young but each time that Trey helps the aliens, he finds himself loosing that battle.

He has always shown he cares for the man, but we see that it goes so much deeper. It was nice to see the two men find their way towards a happy ever after. The author has done a good job of keeping this series fresh and engaging for the reader. With each book we see the aliens defeat more and more of the enemy and each of them find their happy ever after’s. This book is a nice addition to the series and gives readers a beautiful story that has been in the making for some time. This is the latest book in this series but can be enjoyed on its own. We have met the main characters in previous books, but this is where we get to truly meet them and see their personalities shine. It is filled with good characters and the author does a nice job of keeping the camaraderie going throughout the book.

I am a fan of Lynsay Sands and she does not disappoint with this book. It is well written and gives readers all the things that you expect from one of her books. I was pulled right into the story and fully engaged all the way to the end.
