An abusive Dom robbed Orion Gordon of his love of BDSM, destroying his confidence and leaving him unsure he’ll ever find peace through submission to another. Still, deep inside, his longing continues.

Marcus Sadir loves Hunter Dixon, yet can’t be the one thing Hunter truly desires: a sub to control. And Hunter can’t find satisfaction in the sadistic aspects of the BDSM lifestyle, while Marcus thrives on inflicting and sharing pain. When Marcus convinces Hunter they should find a third on a permanent basis, they discover Orion might be the key to bridging their differences and joining them on a deeper level.

But they must help Orion move past his trauma enough for him to enjoy new facets of BDSM and kink again. Their journey toward becoming whole—together—won’t be without challenges. Can Orion trust enough to try again?

Orion loved to play in the lifestyle and play hard. That is until one careless excuse for a Dom took it all away from him. Believing that he could trust the man Orion played without a safe word and let the Dom continue to play harder and harder until the day came that he played too hard. Orion awoke to find himself robbed of not only his dignity but his safety as well. He has tried numerous times to trust other Doms and get back into the lifestyle but each attempt has failed. When Hunter and Marcus enter the picture, Orion is more than conflicted. He longs to belong to the two men but his fear is still a wall to get past and Orion doubts he will ever get past it.

This is a great story full of well-rounded characters who are full of emotions. I loved each and every character in it. Orion is a sweet guy who has gone through a rough time and suffered some trauma yet he is trying his best to overcome it all.

Marcus and Hunter are great men who love each other and even if they are both Dominant men they make it work. Adding Orion to the mix helps balance them all. I enjoyed watching their relationship take shape. Marcus and Hunter are both attracted to Orion and are open and honest with him no matter what. Giving Orion a safe place to try again. The love that the two men have together is beautiful and seeing them want to share that with Orion made for a wonderful read. The men are understanding and let the relationship move at its own pace allowing friendship turn into more. I liked that readers got to see a good balance of Orion and his men together and apart. Seeing into each other’s personal lives made for a far more interesting read and that much sweeter when they finally find their way. Plus, we get to see their personalities shine through out their story.

It was nice to see the camaraderie in this book. From the friendships to the relationships everyone stands by each other and is always ready to help. Not only did I enjoy Orion’s story but I also enjoyed getting a look at the other couples in this story and hope that we get their stories as well.

Cross the threshold of Balls & Chains, into a world where humans and shifters dominate and submit alike.

Cole Linley is a gay wolf-shifter. In order to appease the Alpha within, he has taken up the BDSM lifestyle and become very experienced. This placates his wolf to a certain extent, but his dearest wish is to find a mate—male, of course. Except, the question is, how to find one in a city surrounded by humans where other wolf-shifters are rare.

Then, one night, he enters Balls & Chains, a BDSM club he frequents, and immediately senses another of his kind. And not only that, it is the scent of a potential mate, Jared Gray. There is only one problem—Jared is collared by another Master.

Jared’s relationship shows all the signs of an abusive relationship. Can Cole get him away from the other Dom and show Jared the delights of BDSM when done properly and what it means to be a beta wolf to Cole’s Alpha?

Living in the city can take its toll on a shifter, especially an alpha like Cole. He enjoys his work and has a home where he can run free but most of all he keeps his beast at bay by going to the club, Balls and Chains. There Cole can let his alpha be appeased by playing with the subs that scene with him. Just like most shifters he longs to find his mate but he has lost hope. Then one night he finds just that at the club but the man that is his mate is already attached to another. Can Cole find a way to get Jared away from the abusive man playing at being a Dom?

To Claim a Mate grabbed my attention right from the start and continued to suck me in as the story continued. Cole is a good man and a well liked Dom. When he finds out Jared is attached, he does what he can and respects that the man is already in a relationship. I enjoyed seeing how Cole goes about wooing and getting Jared away from the abusive man. Because they are mates, their attraction is instant, yet Cole gives Jared time and space before he claims him forever.

Their story is nicely paced and I was quickly immersed in their adventure. The author does a good job of bringing these characters to life. Life seldom gives you what you want but can give you what you need. Cole and Jared learn this the hard way. I loved seeing the two fight for that love. I cannot wait to see more from this world and its inhabitants in the future.

Can a broken lion and an ex-soldier fix each other?

Forty-year-old werelion Lance has retired from the lifestyle. When his mate and sub died, Lance thinks there’s nothing to live for…until he catches a glimpse of twenty-two year old Jax. When he sees the tattered soul behind Jax’s eyes, he unthinkingly agrees to do four domestic discipline sessions with Jax. As long as there are rules in place, Lance’s heart remains safe, or so he thinks.

Jax doesn’t understand his instant attraction to the werelion Dom. He’s frustrated by the rules Lance set in place. Four sessions, no strings attached—but what if Jax wants more? Old demons from the past continue to haunt him, but his time Lance helps him forget. Can the two men heal and move on or will their pasts prevent anything good from taking hold?

Two men, each dealing with their own pain. Lance and Jax are both living with their pasts. One man has lost his mate and the other man tries to deal with the after effects of his time as a soldier. Both are hurting, but maybe they can help each other. Neither man knows what to expect as they meet for their sessions. They need what the other man can give them but can they let go of the past and try for a future? Will love have a chance to grow or has the pain taken root and keeps everything out?

Jax and Lance’s story may be a short read but it has a lot to say. Their story is packed full of emotion and turmoil. Each man must come to terms with his own feelings and just where he wants to go. Their attraction is evident from their first meeting but the two men must learn to trust again. Can they open their hearts and let the other man in or are the walls too thick? There is a lot of inner turmoil with each man and I enjoyed watching both men figure out what they wanted. From the first time Jax comes to do a session with Lance we see how hot the two are together and it only gets hotter between them. The two are good together; both in and out of the bedroom. Life moves on and it was nice to see Lance and Jax trying to move on along with it.

Their story moves along quickly and had me right from the start. The author does a good job of bringing these men and their emotions to life. At times, it pulls on your heartstrings and has you hoping for love. These two men learn the hard way that love can heal if you let it.

Jack Frost doesn’t nip. He bites — and bites hard.

When reporter Peter Winston gets too close to the secrets of Chris Cringle and North Pole industries, he’s gifted to Chris’s bodyguard and ex-lover Jack Frost. Now it’s a matter of time before he gives into the delicious demands of the sadistic dominant, learning that being naughty can be so nice.

Everybody knows the jolly old elf of Christmas and his good buddy Jack, the guy who brings winter with him…right? Well the sweet and fun loving characters that we all know are far from the truth. Reporter Peter Winston has gotten too close to the truth and must now pay for his curiosity.

Jack Frost is more than ready to make Peter pay but is his payment too harsh or just what Peter needs? You see Jack is not what he shows the world and those that see his true form are never the same again–that is if they are lucky enough to live through the encounter. Peter may just be lucky enough to be what Jack is looking for and what he wants. Will this be Peter’s saving grace or will he miss his opportunity to get what he has always longed for? This novella isn’t about the romance. This is dark BDSM, heavy on the S/M fantasy.

Peter is taken on an intense sexual ride by Jack Frost and he must make some hard decisions. Jack makes Peter look inward and realize what he is truly doing with his life. Jack is a dominant with a mean streak but he gives Peter what he needs. Peter is just as strong and the two make a good couple. Peter longs for the harshness of Jack and we see the emotions that Jack has about Peter. Jack may be a scary and imposing creature but Peter is drawn to him. Jack subjects Peter to some intense scenes and Peter learns what his body wants. The two give each other just what they need physically and must see if their hearts will follow. I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold and turn into something more. Their story is a quick read that moves along nicely. The author does a nice job of mixing the right amount of emotion and sex together to give the reader a strong hot read.

Big Brother is watching every kinky move they make.

After Deon’s Artificial Intelligence module breaks down, Arjun must travel back to the future to collect the alloy he needs for the repair.

To gain access to a probe due to land on Amun 2 in the next few days, he must volunteer as a Dom in an experiment in multiple partner male-on-male sex run by the Klebs.

Arjun discovers the Klebs are using the “experiment” as an excuse to run a live feed BDSM porno channel around their world and gives them a performance they will never forget.

I was excited to see a second book in the STARMEN series from H. C. Brown. In Arjun’s Pups, the series continues with Arjun having to travel through time and space in order to save his good friend Deon, who’s in the first story. I quickly found myself immersed in Arjun’s story. He goes to a place that is using humans as cattle in their so called sexual experiments. The humans do not know and Arjun must make a choice to help them or let them remain unaware and hurting. As Arjun goes about his mission he meets two men that pull at him more than any others ever have and he cannot let them go. Will Arjun find a balance and be able to stop the aliens from experimenting on the humans and save Deon?

Arjun’s story moves along quickly and brings together three good men. Each character is strong on his own and when the three men work together there is no stopping them. Mason and Rhy are good matches for Arjun, both men add something different and special to their relationship. Rhy and Mason must also figure out just where they fit in with Arjun. Will they make the choice for love or go their separate ways? I enjoyed watching the three men find their way to a happy ending.

Their story is a nice mix of emotion and adventure. The author brings their world to life nicely. This was a nice peek at how these three men come to be together and I hope that we get to see more from them and this world in the future.

The collar comes off and all that’s left is a broken man.

Alexander Gentlemen has spent fifteen years with the collar on, beaten into submission, tortured beyond anything a human mind can survive. He’s fractured around the edges when his brothers finally save him. With the help of ‘One Nut’ Nigel, the collar is removed. He’s starting to remember the faces of those he’s killed and fighting the urge to murder everyone around him. But the one who put that clockwork device on him is still on the loose. With the help of Nigel, he tries to be integrated into a society he no longer understands.

Can he control himself long enough to get his revenge? Will Nigel be his savior or will Alexander embrace his darker side?

Alexander and his brothers live in a harsh world where one must fight in order to survive. Alexander is taken from the only life that he knows by the evil queen. He clings to the hope that is brothers will come and rescue him but as the years go by that hope grows dimmer until it is all but snuffed out. One day the unexpected happens and Alexander awakens from the terrible hell that the Queen has made of his life to see that his brothers have finally come to rescue him. After all that he has endured can Alexander return to some kind of normal life or is it too late for him?

The world that used to be has been destroyed and the evil Queen is using young boys to do her bidding. Stealing them as children and turning them into mindless drones used for her enjoyment and protection. Alexander was one such boy, but his brothers never gave up and fought to rescue him. As he learns to live again we see Alexander wrestle with emotions and new and different feelings. He is an engaging character and it was nice to see the relationship build between Alexander and Nigel. The two men form a special bond that grows deeper as they spend more time together. Their story is an intriguing read. While I got to see Alexander try to fit in and his feelings for Nigel grow I didn’t really get a good understanding of what is going on with the other part of the story. I knew that they were fighting as well as looking for the evil queen but never more than that. There are many unanswered questions that come up about that part of the story. I would like to have known how the brothers rescued Alexander and who their friends were as well as how the King ended up fighting the queen.

This story revolves around Alexander and how he strives to fit in now that he has been rescued. At times, it grabbed my attention while at others it felt as if it skipped important details for me. I enjoyed watching Alexander and Nigel come together but would have liked a bit more world building. Love is a strong emotion and it keeps Alexander alive through so much. Whether it is his love for his family or for Nigel, Alexander fights hard to keep it, it is what keeps him going. I enjoyed seeing that love help Alexander find his way back from the brink and give him something to fight for.

Saved by an Alpha dragon, Leon wonders if Rashik is his captor or the one man he’s been searching for all his life.

Dragon King Rashik has been on the search for a stolen hatchling. He never expected to find a tasty and defiant human with steel in his spine. Humans hunt his kind for sport, yet Rashik can’t deny his attraction. Leon might be different but claiming the human could shift the balance in his clan.

Regardless of the consequences, Rashik is king for a reason. Once he sets his sights on Leon, Rashik will do anything to claim him.

All his life Leon just tried to survive. Living in the shadow of his father, the mighty paranormal hunter, was not always a good thing especially when he did not believe in his father’s ideals. Leon always believed that the shifters had just as much right to be in this world as the humans did. When Leon goes against his father and the other hunters by saving a baby dragon he finds himself under the protection of the dragon king. Just what will happen to Leon now that he is among the dragons. Is he safe or has he just traded one prison for another one?

Leon’s story grabs you right from the start. He leads a hard life living amongst the hunters and believing that the shifters have a right to live. Being beaten and ostracized, Leon takes one last chance to do one thing right in his life and that decision leads him to Rashik and his dragons. From the very beginning the two feel something going on between them and they must figure out just where they each stand. I enjoyed watching the two find their way to each other and their happy ever after. They live in a world that is divided yet the two men find a way to come together and fight for what is right. Not only do we get to see Rashik and Leon’s relationship build but we also get to see Leon grow and find himself as he fights to protect the baby dragon. There are those that are full of hate in every race and Leon finds that he must be on guard at all times. Love and trust are key to Leon and Rashik’s relationship and the two must realize when to let their guard down and let that love and trust in.

The author weaves and intriguing story full of adventure and emotions. I quickly found myself engrossed in their story and as with any good book it left me wanting to return and see more from this world and its characters.

In the nineteenth century, the dragon Dìzhèn put the small coastal town of Everlasting under her protection. Her family was supposed to carry on the tradition, but all of Dìzhèn the Great’s heirs eventually left rather than live in the shadow of such a powerful dragon.

Only the youngest dragon of the current generation remains: Zarrin, the softhearted disgrace of his family. He might be weak, small, and afraid, but he is determined to show the humans they have not been forgotten… one human in particular. The problem is, Zarrin can barely get that human to talk to him.

It should be a dream come true to have a dragon trying to get his attention. But Joe refuses to bow to Zarrin like everyone else. Yes, Zarrin is sexy, oddly gentle for a dragon, and stares at Joe with a gaze so hot it makes him shiver. But hurt, mistrustful Joe can’t believe Zarrin’s promises that he’s here to stay. Joe doesn’t realize he is the treasure Zarrin has been looking for his whole life, a treasure he once let slip through his fingers out of fear. Now, to win Joe’s trust, Zarrin has to be brave and become as strong as Dìzhèn herself.

Joe has always been an outcast in the town that he lives in. After high school and what happened during those years, he could not wait to get away but eventually something pulls him back to the little town. Coming back he finds a job at the local coffee shop and soon finds that he has attracted the attention of the local dragon. The dragons have been in this town for years but it seems that every dragon has left except one. Zarrin is not the fearsome dragon that he believes he should be, yet he is trying to take care of the town and Joe. Fear and hate are among the many things that Zarrin must overcome in this town. Is he strong enough to stand and fight for Joe and the town or is he truly as weak as all the other dragons have made him feel? Will Joe and Zarrin find a way to a happy ever after or is it already too late?

R. Cooper weaves a magical story of love and devotion with this book. I adored Zarrin. He is so much stronger than what he has been led to believe. He is smart and loves with all his heart. Joe has had a hard life but is still a good man inside. Both men long for things that they think they cannot have and are not worthy of, but love does not judge in the same way. I loved watching the two find their way to a beautiful relationship. It was nice to see Joe and Zarrin willing to stand and fight for each other and their love. Not only did I enjoy seeing the two work through their emotions but it was also nice to see Zarrin find a way into the hearts of townspeople as well. Zarrin and Joe find out just how strong love and trust can be as they find their own way. Treasure for Treasure is a great addition to this series and I enjoyed this visit and hope to return to this world again.

He doesn’t know what’s on Dallas’s agenda, but he won’t be blindsided by a wolf masquerading as a runway model. Not again.

Dallas might have thrown himself on his brother’s mercy, but his skills are needed at Idyll Fling. Working with Will is a bonus, since Dallas has never forgotten the man. A good working relationship is only the beginning of what Dallas wants with Will.

But Dallas doesn’t realize how deep Will’s distrust runs, and Will doesn’t know that the man he’s torn between loving and hating is the boss’s brother. When all truths are revealed, how can a relationship built on lies still stand?

Will has gotten himself a good job and although he is happy and comfortable he never forgets why he is where he is now. Will may be happy at his job but everyone including his friends can see that he is burning himself out. When his boss brings a young man names Dallas to help him Will is more than surprised. Add in the fact that Will believes that Dallas is the reason behind his firing and the sparks fly. There is a strong attraction between the two men but Will believes Dallas to be an enemy. Can the two find a way to a truce to help Idyll Fling grow into the company that it can be?

This is book two from the Fabric Hearts series. I am enjoying my visits to this world. Plaid versus Paisley gives us Will’s story. We met him in Raven’s book. Will has a reason for hiding out in the server room and it has more to do with his last job than anything else. I loved getting to see Will’s past and his reasons for his actions. When Dallas arrives we see the attraction that these two have for each other but their past plays a large part in their present. Misunderstandings and assumptions lead to pain and heartache. Can the men figure out that their love worth fighting for or is it too late? I enjoyed watching Will and Dallas find their way. Their love is stronger than they realize and seeing the work that they put into it makes for a nice read.

The author does a wonderful job of moving this story along and keeping the reader interested. Will and Dallas are both strong characters full of emotions. Their story has its ups and downs and it pulled me right in from the start. I was quickly immersed in their story and kept turning the pages to see just what would happen between the two men. Not only did Dallas and Will have a lot to say but the secondary characters also made themselves known making this a well rounded story and I hope that this is not the last time we get to visit this world.

Lewis, Alpha master of the Wasp Lake wolf pack, knows that finding his mate should be a joyous event. But former army ranger Jacobi isn’t an Omega. Or even a wolf. He’s a grizzly bear shifter, and Alpha to the bone.

Falling for an outsider is risky, especially given Lewis’s secret. He yearns to be an Omega, not an Alpha, and has never met anyone willing to accept the man he really is behind the Packmaster’s mantle. As for Jacobi, it’s been a long time since he’s been loved so well that it made him want to be a better man.

The pair try loving in secret — for a while — but know that’s not going to be enough to satisfy them forever. When Jacobi adopts an orphaned lynx cub and Lewis becomes the toddler’s second father, they realize something has to be done. But what?

Nature is red in tooth and claw — but sometimes true love really does save the day.

Lewis may be the alpha of his pack, but sometimes he longs for something else–especially behind closed doors. When his duties take him to Jacobi’s home, Lewis realizes that he may have found what he needs. The problem is life does not always work out the way we want it to. Jacobi is an alpha himself and, if that is not enough to put a damper on things, he is a bear, not a wolf like Lewis. Yet their attraction cannot be denied. As the two men spend more time together their attraction soon turns into something more. Soon they will not be able to hide the bond that is growing between them. Add in an orphaned lynx cub and the love begins to grow between them all.

While I enjoyed the concept of this story I would have liked a bit more depth to it. I liked the characters but they seemed a bit one-dimensional. The story moves quickly and I would have liked to see some of the parts of the story a little more fleshed out. I really liked Lewis and Jacobi. They made a great pair and understood each other and what was needed in their relationship. You can see just how much they care for each other in everything that they do. Their life is hard and when push comes to shove it was nice to see them step up. I was pulled into their story from the start but wanted more. This was a quick read that whet my appetite for this world and will have me going back for more.
