When Nate Hawthorne meets Asher Dane, the huge, tattooed hunk is the personification of Nate’s dreams. But Nate knows there’s no future, because Asher is also the personification of his beloved five-year-old daughter Delly’s nightmares. She’s frightened of big men. Things turn around for both of them, however, when Delly goes Christmas shopping at the Fairy Shop and begins her quest for a wand that will make her brave. Neither of them guesses that the Fairy Shop will be the source of far more than Delly’s courage. On Christmas Eve, under the influence of a very unusual fairy, Nate’s life will change forever.

I enjoyed The Fairy Shop by Tara Lain. It is a sweet story about finding courage and love. Nate has been taking care of his young daughter after her mother had an altercation with an abusive boyfriend and now the young girl is afraid of big men. On a rare night out, Nate meets Asher and the attraction is immediate, but Asher is a big man and Nate knows that his daughter would be terrified of Asher. Nate believes that a relationship is out of the question, but he soon discovers the magic of Christmas. Will he be able to help Delly while finding his own Christmas miracle as well?

Ash and Nate’s story is a beautiful romance that will pull at your heart at times. As the two men spend more time together their attraction grows. There is so much more to each man than what they show the world and Ashe has a special secret that will pull them all together as a family in the end. Nate’s young daughter Delly is a sweet girl who learns to fight her fears and sees the good in everyone. I loved the relationship that Nate has with his daughter he is a good father and only wants what is best for her even if that means he has to give up what he wants. The interaction between the two added nicely to the story. Not only do we get a wonderful romance between the main characters but many of the supporting characters made themselves known as well. You cannot help but feel for Bob and who could not love Ophelia and her magic? The author does a great job of bringing the Christmas spirit out in this story leaving readers feeling good and believing in a little magic as well.
