Sue Green just wanted one night to be the pretty one. But a few glasses of champagne and one wild disguise later, she’s in some serious trouble. Who knew the devastatingly handsome face of Lord Holden Ellis would get in the way of her foot? And how exactly did all that high-kick dancing start in the first place? At least she blamed it all on her new persona—Suzanna. So Society’s most eligible bachelor will never find out the truth.

All Holden wants is the truth. Who was that vixen who seduced him so thoroughly, then disappeared? The only one who seems to have any answers about Suzanna is Miss Sue Green. She’s promised to help him find his mystery woman, but in truth she’s not being all that helpful. And in truth, the more time Holden spends with Sue—witty, pretty, and disarmingly honest—the more he realizes he may have found exactly what he’s been looking for all along…

This fairy tale story captivated me from beginning to end. It was very reminiscent of Cinderella, and even included balls, an evil mother, and a sister placed ahead of her in her family’s eyes. And Like Cinderella, Sue somehow discovers an inner strength and claims what is rightfully hers, which includes the Holden the man who has been searching for Suzanna longer than either of them realize.

I was immediately smitten with this story, and did not want it to end. Sue is the oldest sister, yet she has seem to lived in her sisters’ shadow being the plain daughter–as her mother so often reminds her. With the prospects of landing an eligible bachelor almost nonexistent, she decides to throw caution to the wind and enjoy herself for one evening. Yet, that one evening alters her life forever, by introducing her to the world she has skirted on the outside of for so long. I could not help but root for Sue from beginning to end, and hope to get more glimpse of her wild side she affectionately names Suzanna.

Holden has his own secrets he must keep tucked away, or he risks not only his reputation, but a scandal that will devastate his entire family’s existence in higher society. When he meets Suzanna, she shakes up his world more than anyone has done. Now he finds himself on a wild goose chase for the missing seductress, while finding himself falling in love with the sensible and witty Sue. Holden seems to be a scamp on the outside, but I quickly realized this was a facade used to keep others at a distance. In fact, below the surface of his charm, he is a caring and compassionate man wrapped in a pretty package with a bow. This made me want to learn more about him, as well as discover all of his hidden secrets he hides so well.

The entire courtship of these two is truly fascinating and one I will not soon forget. I love how they come to care for one another so naturally throughout the story, it really added a ring of truth to the relationship. I could not help but smile sometimes at the budding relationship because it was based on genuine fondness of one another and seemed so natural. I have sometimes felt historical romances a bit outdated, but Desperately Seeking Suzanna was anything but outdated, and I can truly say I would anticipate reading this story again an falling in love with it all over.

In the end, the answers will all be found in his Grandfather’s Pants.

Is history always doomed to repeat itself?

Between inheriting his father’s business and looking after his widowed mother, Jack has always been Mr. Dependability. It isn’t always the most exciting life, but Jack finds meaning in the iron-clad routine that his community has come to expect of him. Jack is effortlessly in tune with the pulse of small town life, and Mr. Maus’ attention to even the smallest details of what it feels like to live in that kind of environment instantly drew me into the plot. No sooner did I think I had everything figured out, though, than another plot twist would appear. It was as much fun to anticipate where the author was going with his story as it was to see how someone as traditional and shy as Jack reacts to all of the unexpected things that happen to him.

It would have been helpful to have the paranormal elements of this tale explained in greater detail, especially when it comes to exactly how they influence Jack’s friends and family members. There were a few occasions when certain characters rapidly change their minds about topics they previously held strong opinions about. Had their thought processes been explained more thoroughly this book would have easily earned a much higher rating as this is my only criticism of an otherwise fantastic novel.

I was definitely not expecting to laugh as often as I did while reading My Grandfather’s Pants. Mr. Maus has a fantastic sense of humour that translates extremely well to the written word. He is adept at teasing out the funny side of even the most serious or mundane parts of daily life. It was especially entertaining to see how he plays around with a wide range of assumptions most of us make about certain groups of people in order to keep his readers on their toes.

My Grandfather’s Pants is a great choice for anyone in the mood for something quirky and original. This is the kind of book that begs to be read more than once. I, for one, will be revisiting it quite soon!

Internationally known wild child James Kelly is a filthy rich rock star, devilishly handsome, with silicone beauties aplenty to grace both his arm and his bed. He has it all. Or does he? What he wants most is a real woman to tell him no once in a while…and thanks to his inherited precognition, he knows her when he meets her. But the vision of his future is shrouded in darkness and shadows.

Tarot reader Lisbeth Vargo works at the local renaissance faire. She’s still stinging from her last bad relationship when her best friend marries James Kelley’s brother. After being paired up in the wedding party, sparks fly between Lisbeth and James. Even her tarot cards tell her he’s the one, but is the interest of a “bad boy” something she can take seriously?

Sometimes falling in love takes a leap of faith. Occasionally it needs a push off the cliff. James is more than happy to give Lisbeth that needed shove, but will his love save her…or get her killed?

IVF treatment or a test tube baby generic levitra mastercard is simple, safe and dependable. This medicine viagra discount sales is very inexpensive and won’t be effective if you are suffering from impotency or erectile dysfunction. Admit it, most of us think the Irish accent is sexy as a well done salsa dance; that’s why I picked this book up. This beautiful premise is only added to by James/Seamus being a rock star to boot. But I kept reading because the writing is well edited and well written. Not to mention, the plot doesn’t do the irritating, “Do I like him, no, I don’t, but I do, but I just can’t bring myself to see him” dance. That stuff got old twenty books ago. For once, the main characters definitely love each other and even say so well before halfway through the book. Here, the conflict is one external to the relationship.

James is a rock star and all high grossing rock stars have a manager. James’ manager isn’t the nice kind. He provides the book’s tension by the distance he enforces between the two love-birds via touring time. I felt a lot of the band details on stage and back were well researched and appeared to be realistic. The only major issue I had was the petulance and childishness of the manager on occasion. He seemed a touch too childlike in his arguments and resistance to change. I felt the plot could have just as easily gone forward with him being more realistically businesslike and strong in his refusal to help the band through those traits rather than sheer contrariness. I think this would have worked better towards the conclusion where he is appraised as a generally good, if greedy, guy.

Now on to the good bits: James’ and Beth’s sex life. For the romantic, the draw could be that Beth starts out as a virgin and, presumably, her first and last will be James. He, of course, has had more experience, as a rock star would. However, I would also say this novel is one for the romance enthusiast because the sex is more making love than just sex. There are long embraces, loving foreplay, and there is a build up to the stage of having sex, for obvious reasons. Beth is not a woman to fall straight into and out of bed with a man, and just as well.

I felt the best part of their relationship was James’ commitment to Beth. He sends her trinkets and letters in an updated take on love letters and really ingratiates himself to the reader, and Beth. He does what many men may not be bothered to do in a long distance relationship and takes “putting in the effort” to another level.

There is also a soft magical element to this book that readers should be aware of. Tarot cards have a strong predictive influence over events and James’ family all have different psychic gifts that they were born with. I find this fantasy element syncs well with the plot and offers nice (and not too obvious) hints and foresight to the reader.

The conclusion to The Gypsy Ribbon is a shock to begin with but smoothes out to a happy ending, so don’t be too disheartened. What I take from this book is love and an enduring memory of that happy, tingly, overflow of emotion that surrounds the perfect honeymoon period of relationships and spreads smiles across a room. With Shannon MacLeod writing books at this standard, I’m going to go have a look and see if James’ Irish brothers have been written about, too!

He doesn’t want to reject her again, even if he is on duty, but he just can’t imagine a good girl like Olivia allowing him to do the dirty things he’d always longed to do with her.

Can he dare to hope she might still love him after she spends one night in his custody?

Olivia Fitzgerald is at a friend’s hen’s night and has had a few too many tequila slammers. Michael Williams was a long ago ex boyfriend and now is a policeman. When two of Olivia’s friends “assault” Michael, he and his partner are forced to arrest them. Incredibly drunk – and a little jealous of the attention – Olivia soon finds herself pressed against the police car and Michael’s rock hard body. Despite their past, Olivia and Michael had never had sex. This time Olivia isn’t going to take no for an answer – but Michael also has a few tricks up his sleeve.

This is a steamy novella full of spunky characters and a lovely bit of kink. I enjoyed how Michael is controlling, but not a jerk about it. I thought it was clear from the outset he still held a torch for Olivia, and she clearly hadn’t ever fully got over his refusal to have sex with her. While the set up of their meeting – a bunch of drunken girls being nabbed by the cops for outrageous behaviour – wasn’t very new, I found Michael and Olivia’s situation and their characters were fresh enough to have me invested in their relationship and interested in how things would progress between them. I was also impressed by how Michael had enough control over himself to leave Olivia while she was drunk and not really able to properly consent to his full wishes. I felt this spoke a lot about his character and put him in a positive light.

While not for the faint of heart, there’s nothing too offensive or over the top kink wise in this book. Some restraints, oral sex and a bit of spanking certainly makes for spicy reading – but I didn’t find it really pushed the envelope. I’d think this would be a good book to recommend people who like some kink in their erotic reading but nothing truly “out there”. I enjoyed reading about Michael and Olivia and while I found their coming together a little too smooth to be realistic or believable, it was a really great read and something I’d happily read again when the mood strikes. Recommended.

THE MITOSIS HEGEMONY: TechnoPolitics in the 21st Century is a hi-tech, sci-fi thriller about current trends that will collide soon to forever change the world as we know it.

The only way to know what inside an unexpected message is to open it. The question is, will humanity ready for what they’re about to discover?

Among all the good inventions viagra sale https://www.unica-web.com/watch/2016/fling.html was said to be the best amongst all. This is a fast-paced book that is full of plot twists I didn’t see coming. It was especially interesting to see how the same events play out from the perspective of more than one character in this piece. The ability to experience an event from more than one point of view comes in even more handy as the plot progresses. No two people are alike and neither will they interpret or remember the same event identically. These differences – large and small – are scattered throughout many of my favourite scenes.

Due to a large cast of characters and almost no character development it took me a while to remember everyone’s name, occupation, and location. The vast majority of the characters are introduced within an incredibly short period of time during which a lot of other important things are happening in the plot. It would have been really helpful to have a glossary of at least the most important people in an appendix somewhere. I would have also liked to see more descriptions of individual personalities. The plot is so centered on solving the mystery that I finished this novella with nearly no idea who might be shy, gregarious, intellectual, or trustworthy.

As someone who has absolutely no experience with military slang or acronyms, I really appreciated Mr. Van Kaserman’s willingness to explain exactly what each term meant. The first few chapters in particular are filled with references to military equipment and procedures, so there were quite a few definitions in the beginning of this story. Including them in the flow of the narrative was the right decision for this piece. The plot was rarely slowed down by it, and it was nice to figure out the meanings of new terms without having to stop reading.

There is also a lot of telling instead of showing in this novella. The narrator explicitly states what certain characters are feeling instead of allowing their body language or word choice give the reader hints about what is happening. In certain scenes this technique is necessary when writing such action-heavy science fiction, but using it repeatedly with characters whose personalities are so ill-defined was one of my biggest reasons for giving this book a 2.5 star rating. It was often difficult for me as a reader to care about what was happening to individuals that I knew so little about.

With that being said, the mystery was well-paced and provided clues just often enough to keep my curiosity piqued about the true origins of the odd signal. Coming up with theories about who might be behind it was invigorating. I would have enjoyed spending more time playing around with this mystery, and the intricacies of it could have easily filled up the pages of a full-length novel.

I’d recommend The Mitosis Hegemony to anyone who likes fast-paced, plot-centered tales. Despite its flaws, the concepts it explores are unique and worth a try for readers who are big fans of this writing style.

Hunting just got hotter.

Marian is a hunter of night creatures. She stalks and stakes vampires, isn’t afraid of the odd silver bullet if a werewolf turns rogue, and is perfectly content with her complete lack of social life.

If she can survive the night she might discover that sometimes opposites attract in the best ways. Now if she could just silence that irritating little voice in the back of her mind that keeps reminding her that hunters are supposed to kill creatures of the night, not date them.

If in need of a quick and sexy paranormal read, Taming the Hunted has just the right balance of seduction, bite and entertainment to make the time fly.

This short story compresses all the kinds of elements that make a story enjoyable. Marian is a take charge kind of heroine who hunts monsters for a living. It’s a hard life and she doesn’t scare easily. She is comfortable with knives and doesn’t take chances. Lest a reader thinks she is invincible, she has this little quirk that not only gets her into trouble but it allows her to be rescued by the hero. I found it amusing that for all her expertise, she’s brought down by a simple and very common human phobia. I liked that touch.

Gabriel was the hero and he’s depicted as quite the yummy specimen. He’s obviously the guy in charge and it seems he was drawn to the heroine from the get go. The only way I could discern all that is because it’s what Marian’s character conveyed. Taming the Hunted is told in third person point of view but it’s solidly only from Marian’s side of things. Never once did the author head hop and I appreciated that. The heroine is in a pickle, she’s faced with unusual circumstances with different rules to learn and follow. That sense of otherness came across more effectively because I only saw things from her POV. That made the story more interesting.

Another thing I enjoyed was the buildup of sexual tension. When the heroine and hero consummate their intense passion it’s along the lines of what erotic romance readers look for. It’s enough to feel the steam but not enough to seem gratuitous and overdone. There’s a hint of BDSM but it’s more a flavor than a deed.

Nole and Kennard are two secondary characters that seem important but are pretty much one dimensional. Same with the villain; as short lived as he was, I didn’t get a strong sense of drama or suspense. For me, it only illustrated how different Marian’s life is going to be, not that there was a true threat to end it. It did serve the function of advancing the plot though.

Taming the Hunted is an interesting spin on the hunter/werewolf combo relationship. I had fun reading this novelette and liked Marian’s personality. She’s the star in this little caper and if the epilogue is any indication, it sounds like readers are going to hear more about Marian’s life, her profession and how it affects her new role. I look forward to seeing what the next step will be for Gabriel and her. One thing is for sure, it won’t be boring and I’m definitely interested in seeing more. I liked this book.

Especially since those lies have put the entire world in danger…

What could very well be the end of the world is the perfect time to take risks. If it doesn’t happen now another chance might never present itself.

I can’t imagine a more electrifying opening sentence than this one: “The sky was on fire.” As soon as I read it I couldn’t wait to see what Ms. Buckley planned to do with her characters and the dying world that no one else has been able to save. The descriptions of what happens to a society that knows there may not be any days left for them after this one were as chilling as they were intriguing.

It’s difficult to discuss my criticism of this piece without revealing spoilers, but the scenes that earned it a sensual rating felt out of place when compared to the tone of the rest of the plot. Either section would have made a compelling short story on its own, but attempting to bind a thrilling science fiction mission with what happens later on never quite gelled for this reader. I did not sense much chemistry between the individuals involved in those scenes, and that made it difficult for me to understand certain interactions between them.

The fast-paced plot kept me interested from beginning to end. Just enough information about Global Solutions and the backgrounds of the characters is provided to explain what’s happening. There were a few details I would have preferred to have more information on, but none of it is strictly necessary in order to understand what Grace is trying to do. Leaving certain questions unanswered also means that there is space for a sequel to this piece. While I don’t know if Ms. Buckley is planning to write it, I would be quite interested in revisiting these characters in the near future.

Grace Under Fire is a solid tale that left me wishing for more. This is a good choice for anyone in the mood for a quick, satisfying read.

Yet with each passing day, the risk of discovery grows, threatening to drive Sarah from Alexander’s life forever. Is their love strong enough to triumph over the secrets of the past? Or will life’s cruel forces finally tear them apart?

Statham’s For Love of Sarah will prove completely pleasing to fans of the classic romance genre, easy-to-sympathize with heroine, and the backdrop English culture and countryside.

Sarah, Countess of Thorne, leaves her home -and husband – by dark of night and we are immediately intrigued. Why does she depart? For she does not seem merely faithless, but regretful. Rather a lot of backstory slows the start… but we get a clear view of the husband, Alexander’s perception of events. He married a faithless wife and seems, indeed on the brink of finding her.

Sarah is surely in the right, but we cannot be sure! I found myself impatient to discover what drove Sarah to depart. The easy answer, another man, seems incorrect. Immediate events rather abruptly change what we might expect. Indeed, we readers are both surprised by events and continually intrigued by what must have really happened! And although this rather makes it sound like an action novel, indeed Statham’s elegant turn of phrase is true to the genre and this is a classic romance in every way imaginable.

“Without a word, Sarah turned away and left the room. Closing the door quietly in her wake, she stood with her back pressed to the dark panel. She had never expected to see her husband again, and finding him forcefully brought back into her life resurrected emotions she thought to have died many years ago. Fear that her secrets would now be brought to the forefront made her tremble…”

You see how soundly Statham has hooked us and keeps us reading!

There is some measure of complexity to events, partly due to changing point of views too frequently, but apart from that one quibble, this is a very interesting and unpredictable romance. The quality of the writing and the very engaging characters make this ultimately a very satisfying read: and those particular fans of the English Historical romance will be very pleased.

Will they surrender to a legacy or risk a disaster to stay apart?

Jasmine Monroe has taken a long time to recover from the ordeal she suffered in the first book of The Gatekeepers (The Shoppe of Spells), but now she feels whole again and able to cope with life in general. Then she meets Eryk Vreeland, a magician who is identical to her good friend Dorian. All except for the eyes. His facetted emerald green eyes are the duplicate of Morgan’s – Dorian’s wife.

Jasmine, Dorian and Morgan are all descendants of the original settlers of Rutherford. The people there have special powers and these three are no exception. Jasmine reports the existence of Eryk to Bask (the managing director of Abbot House which is technically the protector of Rutherford). From that point on Jasmine’s life is not her own. She and Eryk become a team and Eryk is introduced to Dorian and Morgan, the Gatekeepers at the Shoppe of Spells who keep the Gulatega from travelling through the portal to Earth.

Once again mystery and magic combine in the Rutherford descendants. Their ability to see people’s auras, move objects, repel invaders to their world, all these things make the town a safe haven. Add to this the knowledge when a couple become intimate they become match-mated for life and work their magic as a pair. This means Jasmine and Eryk must struggle to control their emotions or forever be entwined in love.

The story pulled me in and kept me there. Jasmine’s past made her a strong person and Eryk’s disbelief in real magical events made for some interesting discussions between the two. Two resilient personalities who fight against evil and the people who wield evil. I did wonder if they were right for each other, or if their identities were too much for each other. Was I right or wrong? Only a someone who’s read the book can tell you that and I’m not going to spoil it for future readers.

I waited patiently for this second book of The Gatekeepers to appear as I thoroughly enjoyed the first one. Ms Grey did not disappoint me. I literally couldn’t put this book down, and when life forced me to I hurried back to it as soon as possible. I look forward to the third in the series – Second Chances.

Trace Dakota, a polar bear shifter, lives by his own set of rules, and makes no apologies for it. He owns a bar, drives a Harley, and expects compliance in all things.
