Learning about Angel and Dwayne’s past gives Eric a good look into his own truth, and he’s not so sure he likes what he sees, but is it too late to change? More important, is it too late to convince Dwayne he was wrong?

You know a man is irresistible when just looking at him makes your ass twitch. Such is Eric’s dilemma. He has a lust crush on Dwayne, his best friend’s cousin but isn’t sure that Dwayne’s flirting really means anything. When the two are finally thrown together and take advantage of the obvious chemistry Eric is forced to deal with some real issues. Dwayne may just the one man Eric can’t run away from.

Permanent Ink offers two complex men that shouldn’t be together but fit anyway. Eric is a minor character from another Samms’ novel and it’s nice to see him get a happy ending. He’s never had a long term relationship and tends to get restless and bored easily. This is perhaps the biggest problem with the story. It’s too short. Everything happens way too fast, way too soon and loses some of its impact. The scene with Eric’s brother should be more important but instead it feels like a heavy manipulation to allow Eric to go in a certain direction. Also there isn’t really much tension to the story either. Due to Eric’s past most of the secondary characters are worried Eric’s going to hurt Dwayne but he says early on he won’t and that’s the end of it.

The writing gives as much credibility as it can but ultimately the short space just takes away most of the enjoyment and satisfaction with the speed of the relationship and resolution. It’s still worth reading, however. The short story has a really good idea with an opposite attract theme and interracial couple, which there aren’t enough of in gay erotic romance.

Rescuing Cecil from his abusive boyfriend to finding out who in his pack is trying to take Cecil’s life, Maverick has his work cut out for him, but the largest challenge is getting Cecil to come out of his shell and be the man he once was.

In this story we meet Maverick Brac, an alpha werewolf who, due to his sexual orientation has had to leave his home and start his own pack. I felt sad for Maverick, he’s a strong capable man, but he’s extremely lonely. When he discovers his mate, I couldn’t have been more excited to see where the story would lead.

For the past two years, Cecil Walker has lived his life in constant fear of his ex-boyfriend. So when he finds out he is the mate to a very large alpha werewolf, to say he’s shocked is an understatement. Cecil is a good person with a big, caring heart and it’s in his nature to give Maverick a chance.

The pull of attraction between these two men is undeniable. However, I did found it depressing that Cecil couldn’t catch a break, a lot of bad things happened to this young man throughout the story; it would have broken a lesser person. What I didn’t like was all the character hopping going on. It was as if the author wanted to lay the background for future stories in this series. It didn’t deter me reading or liking the story, it just seemed to defer attention from the main characters this particular story was about.

Overall I really enjoyed “Maverick’s Mate”. Lynn Hagen created her version of a werewolf world and it was definitely creative. I like how, from the start ,you are made aware that this pack of werewolves are all gay. For me it lets me know there will be future stories related to the Brac Pack and I can’t wait to read them.

Both are strong men and I couldn’t help but smile when they met. Okay, so it wasn’t the most marshmallowy sweet meeting. That’s fine. I loved reading about them learning each other and having red-hot sex.

There were a couple of issues. I found myself more than once being pulled from the story because there was a good deal of telling rather than showing. As much as I felt like I was there, I didn’t feel like I was in the characters’ shoes. I also wanted to get into the characters’ heads more than I did. But, it didn’t keep me from enjoying the book. Far from it.

The action-packed plot has twists and turns I didn’t see coming and I’m glad. It kept me wanting to know more.

If you want a story that’s got lots of hot sex, hunky guys, and a helping of heart, then you need to read Cowboy Easy. I give it 4 cherries.

The writing style and description was up to par, though I was left feeling a little disconnected was during the love scenes as if something was missing. It may have been small details, but it was enough to pull me from the story. With that said, the physical connection was not the dominant trait in this relationship so it was easily forgivable because the emotional attachment took precedence in the characters’ relationship so it also took precedence in my attachment to the characters.

Not only was the relationship development between the two main characters well portrayed in this story, but also the father-son bond that I got to watch bloom between Collin and Kerrigan. I loved the way Collin discovered who his son really was in this story. He also was willing to love Kerrigan and want to care for him even when it would have been easier to just give up. It was something that truly touched my heart and will stay with me for a long time.

With strong emotions and characters with limitless abilities to care for others this story tugged my heart strings and stayed with me long after the last page was turned.

Definitely well written with a sweet and believable plot, a must read for anyone who wants a short story that will leave them smiling and relaxed. Such a sweet erotic romance.

The characters are memorable and with much of the focus centered on Sam and Lucia, the sexually heated scenes are scorching. And if all of that isn’t enough, the surprise twist will leave you wanting more.
