When I first began to read this story I didn’t think I was going to like it because it was told in the present tense and I was reluctant to venture on. I’m glad I did because after reading the first couple of pages, I was hooked. The story is also told in the first person, which I personally always enjoy.

Abby comes across as a real person and we feel for her need to have a child. The explanation of why she doesn’t want to be in a relationship or go the sperm bank route is credible.

The writer allows us to know Noah more than Rob, and he comes across as the more caring of the two male characters. I don’t know if the writer intended it this way but I felt very the very beginning that Noah just didn’t want to father Abby’s baby, but somewhere deep inside he wanted to be a father too. And I also sensed he had feelings for Abby.

The sex is very hot and frequent. Sometimes the things Abby and the two male characters say to one another during sex gets repetitive. I shouldn’t give too much away but let’s just say there’s a very hot ménage nestled in this story.

I didn’t know whether to expect a happy ending for Abby but let’s just say the conclusion did satisfy me. The length was also perfect for this type of story.

If you’re looking for a smoldering hot story, but not necessarily a romance, this might be for you.

The male characters were real, and dynamic and you can’t help but adore them both. And you have to envy Ranger Anna, getting these two all to herself for the night.

Anna McCarthy is a sassy and smart woman. She has the brains to know that these two Aussies are going to be trouble, and takes the necessary steps to head off total disaster. She is strong enough to admit, to herself as well as the men, that she wants what they are offering. I liked her sarcasm and her wit when dealing with Rob, and her passion for Joe was a delight.

Joseph Hudson, or as Rob calls him, Hudo, is smart, talented and successful. But he would have no life if it weren’t for the prodding dares from his best friend. I loved watching him discover love with the Ranger, and gasped when he learned Rob’s terrible secret. Rob Thornton is the daredevil and instigator of this pair, always dreaming up new ways to pull Joe out of his shell. He reaches for everything life can offer, and takes Hudo along with him. I loved his passion for living life full out, no holds barred.

I will say that when Rob’s secret was revealed, it was like a sucker punch to the gut. But Ms. Couper handled it with such grace and style, it soon became evident that there would be some surprises yet to come. The heat level in this was high enough to melt the snow on the mountain these three were on, and I recommend this be read with plenty of cold cloths to wipe away the perspiration.

I loved the opening of this story. It was intriguing, sexy and kept me reading. The characters are all well rounded, nicely portrayed…even the secondary ones. Many stories I’ve read lately don’t have secondary characters, this one did and it enhanced the story and my enjoyment of it.

Another thing I really liked about Shame on Me was this was an erotic romance with an actual plot and not just two main characters having sex every three or four pages. The plot has lots of suspense and I think the author did a first class job of weaving it throughout the romance.

The characters were an enjoyable pair, had natural sounding dialogue and the pace was perfect. You find yourself getting so quickly involved in the story that you’re reading the final sentence before you realize it.

I won’t give anything away but the ending didn’t disappoint me.

I loved her sense of adventure when she realized there was nothing she could do about the situation, and her ability to roll with the punches that came her way.

Michael is a single officer, so he works the holidays and lets the family men spend time at home. He is handsome, sexy and on top of everything else, he cooks up a storm for Holli once she is in his home. He sees a sexy woman when he looks at Holli, especially he ample curve are just what he wants. I like that Ms. Matthews gave us more mature characters in this, and Michael is a great example of the hot and sexy cop, wanting more than a fling.

I enjoyed watching these two explore their feelings, and I liked how Ms. Matthews let the emotions build realistically. I watched two people who were attracted to each other learn to be together, and enjoy each other’s company, just a real and honest relationship. I also liked that they didn’t swear undying eternal love after just a few days, but took the time to let the relationship grow. This is that rare and terrific combination of a love story and a hot and sexy tale coming together in perfect symmetry.

This is for all those holiday lovers who want something just a little different. I even liked the cover that Valerie Tibbs designed, giving just a hint of the story, without too much given away. Altogether a very enjoyable reading experience, but beware: there are more than marshmallows heating up here.

I was so engrossed in this story right from the start that I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. Zora is a great woman. Jackson, the loyal but long-suffering brother, is also one very hot guy. He has given up his one chance at love and happiness because of a promise he made to his sister. But under it all, he truly loves Rachel, and wants to be with her. I liked his passion and his determination to change his life once he realized what both he and his sister had done to the life he and Rachel should have been sharing.

I enjoyed this story on many levels. Yes, it is a very hot and sexy story, but there is a poignant thread of love almost lost forever running through it. I also loved Garreth’s methods for dealing with the situation, and how he was able to open Jackson’s eyes to what could be. I laughed, and then I cried at the very touching emotions revealed by the three main characters in this marvelous and passionate story. I only hope that Ms. Dee will soon give us Garreth’s story, after the happy ending of this one.

But as one of Santa’s B.E.L.L.S., she is leading the mission to find a new location for expansion. When Lieutenant Frank ‘Jaguar’ Martin sees her magically set up her tent, he believes he is hallucinating, and who would blame him. But when they come under attack from Cupid and his Red Army of Vinions, can they keep their hands off of each other long enough to save the location and win the day?

These are three very hot holiday stories. I found the three B.E.L.L.S. to be strong and confident, and very funny at the same time. Their determination to accomplish their mission, even with all the distractions from Cupid and the military hunks is great to read.

The men were all sexy and hot, and had to deal with learning to believe in magic as well as dealing with the extreme lust that the drug caused. The eventual acceptance and belief in the magic of the women was fun to watch. And the sex was hot enough to melt the ice on both poles; talk about ‘global warming’. This is for those who don’t want a traditional holiday treat to read.

It’s one huge family that you can’t help but want more from.

Isabella is a great leading woman. She has so many facets to her character, it keeps you guessing on what she is going to do next! No matter how sheltered her life once was she grabs life by the horns and goes for her goals. I loved the scene with her and Lacey the most because the girl dynamics were great. And the guys sitting at the table describing the grooming habit of women was highly hysterical.

This was the perfect sequel to Night is Darkest. Not only do we get a great story involving two great characters but we also see the ones we grew to adore in the first installment of the series. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series!
