Molly O’Dowd is a maid with ambition. She doesn’t intend to spend the rest of her life in service. But first, she feels bound by loyalty and gratitude to see Annabelle, her young mistress, settled before she leaves to make her fortune.

At the estate of her employer’s potential suitor, she meets Graeme and Logan, a lusty pair of rogues who entice Molly to indulge in a tryst or two or three.

To Molly’s delight and relief her employer takes matters in her own hands and secures a proposal. Molly is now free to go, but she hesitates—after all, she now has two reasons to linger a while…

Molly may be able to keep her mistresses virtue intact, but she sure has no qualms about throwing hers away.

Molly is a dirty girl who seems to be easily seduced out of her undergarments. Graeme and Logan do not have to do too much persuading before Molly is giving herself fully to them. It had to make me wonder how she was able to keep Annabelle pure when she is so easily persuaded by men. It sure did make for an interesting read, as well as a intriguing tale.

Despite the smoking hot sex, the end of the story ended too abruptly for me. I actually had to look back to see if I missed something. It left me feeling a bit unfulfilled because right when as it reached its climax it suddenly ends. I wondered what happened with Annabelle and her wicked step-mother Priscilla (there is definitely a story to tell there) and about Logan and Graeme and Molly. I understand that this was just part one of what is to be more stories, but I would like to have not felt so cheated at the end.

The sexual experiences of Molly are definitely at the fore front of this story. She clearly is a woman who is willing to go out and get what she wants. It is easy to see that she is a take charge kind of woman and will take the bull by the horns when necessary. This is a quality I enjoy in women, and Molly is no exception. So if you’re a reader looking for some exciting titillation, look no further. A decent start to a new series!

He Was Taught How To Kill

Even behind bars, serial killer Harvey Day Smith exudes menace. Psychologist Jolene Granger has agreed to hear his dying confession, vowing not to let the monster inside her head. And Harvey has secrets to share—about bodies that were never found, and about the apprentice who is continuing his grisly work. . .

And Now He’ll Teach Them

He buries his victims alive the way his mentor Harvey did, relishing their final screams as the earth rains down. And as one last gift to the only father he knew, he’ll make the most perfect kill of all.

How To Die

If the cilia are covered in Tar, they can’t work right, and germs and dirt stay in the lungs and helps to recover your capacity to get an erection. viagra no doctor Acai won’t necessarily generic levitra vardenafil cure disease, but helps your body to heal itself. cialis stores There is no need to take it like a hard pill. This medicine, used to treat erectile dysfunction have just been investing money for sexual satisfaction and are not levitra 50mg doing anything to cure their problem. Everything about this investigation is unnerving Jo, from Harvey’s fascination with her to the fact that she’s working alongside Texas Ranger Brody Winchester, her ex-husband. Harvey’s protégé is growing bolder and more vicious every day. And soon the trail of shallow graves will lead them to the last place Jo expected, and to the most terrifying truth of all. . .

“A coyote howled in the distance.” Where I live this is an ominous sound. It is the harbinger of killing. That howl made me feel sure bad things were in store for the characters of  No Escape—and they were.

Harvey Smith is Pure Evil and knows how to get into people’s minds and play havoc with their lives. He has two secrets. One he’ll reveal; the other he’ll leave clues for others to use to find out on their own.

Dr. Jo Granger knows a lot about Harvey Smith in a superficial way. Before he is through with his machinations, she’ll know about him in-depth and maybe to her detriment. The imprisoned, dying Smith will speak only to Dr. Jo Granger to tell about his past and where bodies can be found. Consequently, Jo is once again in the arena of action with Texas Ranger Brody Winchester, a man from her past. It has been fourteen years since they parted but Jo still has to repeat her mantra “Let go, Let go.”

Texas Ranger Brody Winchester is no longer the self-centered college athlete that is heedless to the needs of others. He’s not the classic ‘pretty boy’ but is tall, lean, broad shouldered and radiates raw power and dangerous energy. He knows his job and does it well. However, he carries a ton of guilt about the way he treated Jo fourteen years ago when she needed his support and all he could think was ‘poor me.’ He wants to set things right—not an easy thing to do.

Jo, in her logical way, tells Brody they should just be grateful for the civility they have managed and not try to make it anything else. But hearts don’t seem to understand logic. Hearts have needs that logic cannot explain. The strong undercurrent of the ‘I-will-be-acknowledged emotions almost swamp both Jo and Brody as they work together to unravel the horrific, grisly details and clues from interviews and surveillance tapes that relate to Harvey Smith.

Mary Burton sweeps the reader into the action where buried-alive women, an apprentice has stepped up to continue Smith’s unconscionable, murdering ways, and where an array of sociopaths for red-herrings muddies the waters. Suspense keeps the nerves on edge as Jo realizes she is being stalked and that her own mother has dark secrets that could change Jo’s life forever. Little by little Jo becomes more entangled in the web of Smith’s doings. It truly seems there is “no escape” for her.

Secondary characters give depth and insight into events and into the actions of the primary characters. Texas Ranger Rick Santos that Jo has worked with on cases and whom she considers a dear friend slips in and out of the action keeping the reader alert to where he fits in. Joe’s friends Lara and Cassidy along with the “at-risk” girls Jo works with show other facets of her personality; while her more professional acquaintances like the realtor Tim Neumann, the dentist Dr. Dayton, the brother of one of the dead women Scott Connors, and, of course, Robbie that Harvey Smith raised and trained from the age of twelve all keep the reader aware of the horrific murders Smith committed and they create adrenaline-pumping action that keeps one turning pages.

Mary Burton embraces the dark side of humanity as she juxtapositions beautiful pastures of Bluebonnets with the graves of women buried alive beneath them. The complexities of the plot and the characters along with Ms. Burton’s engrossing storytelling style make one shudder at the grisly details at times and at other times makes one sigh with satisfaction when seemingly impossible odds are overcome and LOVE is rewarded with the pure joy of having been acknowledged and given a place in the hearts of Jo and Brody forever.

No Escape is a chilling thriller that makes one shiver and it has a climax that is terrifying. The horror of the climax makes the happy-ever-after even sweeter. It is like a balm that soothes and heals the hurts. This well-paced tale that assails the senses and makes emotions bubble is excellent entertainment.

Alice Savage needs an alpha – any alpha – to prevent her pack from being usurped by the lecherous Roscoe. As a last resort, she signs up for the Midnight Liaisons dating service, never expecting that she’d find the alpha she seeks. She certainly didn’t expect Jackson Wilder, a laid back, sexy-as-sin outsider who claims to be an alpha.

But Alice has a problem that most female wolf alphas don’t — she’s a virgin. And the female alpha of a wolf pack always belongs to a male alpha. Luckily for her, Jackson’s utterly gorgeous and willing to take things slow. But is he alpha enough to help her save her pack…or is he too easy-going to be the man she needs?

Just like every medicine is bound to tadalafil cheap india have a negative impact on a man’s sex life. Who ever heard of a happy-go-lucky alpha wolf? I certainly hadn’t which is why I picked this book to read. The dimples deceive. Jackson Wilder is one yummy wolf and he’s not defined by first impressions.

Actually neither is the heroine, Alice. When the book opens, she’s a mess. There’s a sad reason for that but it sets the stage for what comes after. It provides the conflict, the plot motivation and the reason for the romance – werewolf style.

This story is told in Alice’s point of view only. Ms. Sims didn’t drop the ball once and stayed true to the POV. I liked how the author kept on track. She never had Alice mired in either a woe-is-me or anger against the world kind of internal conflict. The heroine acted like a true person – she grieved, messed up and got sloppy, but when a threat rolled around she did the right thing. And when she was presented with a new ‘right thing’ she wasn’t blind or stubborn to the point of stupidity – she met the challenge head on, accepted it, moved forward all while her knees are shaking. I liked that.

Personal growth is apparent. At first, Alice feels like she has to follow tradition. And in some ways she does. But the hero, Jackson, introduces a different way of doing things. Not better, just different. Okay, well maybe a little bit better. And it throws the heroine for a loop. I enjoyed that too because I was able to see how she grew as a person, as a leader and as a future mate. Talk about building up sexual tension! I liked the slow tease of their relationship. Jackson respected Alice and that was quite clear. Eventually, the heroine discovered the many ways and reasons to respect the hero in return. And that freed her to ‘explore’. When it comes to the part when she finally overcomes her shyness to explore, it’s very sexy. But when she lets loose? Now, those scenes were fun and hot. Great writing.

The villain or dramatic element of conflict had the capacity to overshadow the romance and take it to a dark place. The author resisted taking things down that path, of which I’m glad. However, it also made me ambivalent about his character. He’s crude, crass, disgusting and yet … and yet the author didn’t have him stay true to form. That confused me. Was he bad all the way or, redeemable? If he’s truly, possibly, redeemable, only a really naughty and hard as steel alpha female could make him toe the line. And maybe smack him aside the head. And knee him in the southern hemisphere. I didn’t like him and I don’t think the author wanted a reader to, but I’m not so sure. See? Ambivalent.

All in all, this is a fun story. Single Wolf Female is great entertainment. After doing a bit of research, I discovered that this book is part of a series. I never felt lost or that I was missing anything. It was a tidy little novelette all by itself and I enjoyed getting to know Alice and Jackson. Secondary characters do pop in towards the later part of the tale and it was those tiny tidbits Ms. Sims included that whetted my appetite for more. If all her stories are as cute and interesting as this, with just the right balance of plot, conflict and sexy seduction, then I think it’s going to be time well spent when I snag myself some back stories. I’m very glad I read this and would recommend it to other readers of paranormal romances.

Welcome to Clifton Heights, New York. Just another average Adirondack town, and nice enough in its own right.

Except after dark, or under the pale light of the moon. Or in a very private doctor’s office at Clifton Heights General Hospital, where no one can hear you scream. Or on a road out of town that never ends, or in an old house sitting on the edge of town with a mind – and will – of its own.

Maybe you shouldn’t have left the interstate, my friend. Maybe you should’ve driven on to the next town.

But you didn’t. You saw our sign, turned down our road, figuring on just a short stay. And maybe it will be.

Except after dark. Or on cold winter days when no one is around, and you’re all alone…

Some questions are better left unasked, and some mysteries were never meant to be solved.

Chris has investigated some truly bizarre cases since he moved to Clifton Heights a year ago. Despite growing close to several of the residents in the town he has never been able to convince anyone to explain what they know about the people in their community who died under violent circumstances or disappeared without a trace. Their reticence casts an eerie pallor on the first few chapters, and Chris’ attempts to tease the truth out of them provides smooth transitions between the short stories embedded in this piece.

I requested to review Things Slip Through under the assumption that it was a collection of unrelated tales, so discovering that they shared a common setting and in some cases the same characters was a pleasant surprise. Mr. Lucia wove the lives of the residents of Clifton Heights together in ways that I did not always anticipate. Coming across these connections occasionally helped to explain things that had earlier mystified me about certain plot points.

The author spent so much time amplifying the mysteries of Clifton Heights that I would have liked to see him spend more time explaining how the community became such an unnerving place to live. Some backstory is provided, but given the ominous tone of certain conversations early on I was expecting to have more clues to work with in order to better understand how certain facts were linked to one another.

Given how dark the plot had been up until that point I was expecting a similar tone in the final case Chris revisits. The author’s approach to the disappearance of a small child was unexpected and would have worked quite well as a standalone story, but it did not blend in well with the overall tone of this novel. This was even more true when something from an earlier case that had been used in one of the scariest scenes in the book showed up in this one. With more development the juxtaposition between the two scenes would have added depth to the plot, but as it was written I was a little confused by why Mr. Lucia made the decision to link these tales.

With that being said, reading Things Slip Through was like finally catching a good look at something dark and slithery lurking in the shadows that normally moves too fast to be seen. The author clearly spent lot of time developing the setting, and his meticulous attention to detail pays off every time the tension builds to a new peak.

Things Slip Through is the scariest thing I’ve come across so far in 2013. This is a good choice for anyone who likes the surge of adrenaline that comes from reading extremely descriptive horror.

When Kiernan learns that Demitri’s parents beat him for going on a date with him, he discovers protective instincts he’s never known before. But the fact that Demitri’s less than half his age and his parents are abusive is only the first of many shockers. Will Kiernan be able to accept that shifters exist? Or will he chalk Demitri up as too much trouble and run the other way?

Demitri is by far the most submissive wolf shifter I have ever encountered, but luckily for him Kiernan, his human mate, is willing to take control.

I was intrigued and amused by the fact that Demitri was so submissive, while Kiernan had a take charge personality. I understand that wolves are usually submissive to alphas but never imagined a wolf shifter would be submissive to their human mate. This was a unique twist to a shifter story. It shocked me because shifter stories are so prevalent in our society, that a author can find a way to re-invent it was refreshing.

Demitri’s personality as well as his background is one that immediately made me sympathize with him. He has had a rough life, with a abusive father, who cannot seem to accept any part of who he is whether it be his wolf, or his sexuality. This immediately made me wonder about his mother, but she seems to be a victim who welcomes and accepts the abuse, leaving Demitri a natural submissive subject of his father’s fanatical whims. Demitri seems to be a clear underdog in life, and I could not help but root for him when reading this story.

This story was a pretty easy read because the author immediately piqued my interest with the storyline and kept it going. I would definitely consider this a story that could stand on its own, and does not require the reader to have read the previous stories. I hadn’t read any and was able not fall right into the storyline and enjoyed it.

With the antagonist plot pushing Demitri’s and Kiernan’s relationship forward continuously, this story seems to run smoothly and would definitely be a good read for anyone.

Abbie has scars from her own tumultuous childhood, and losing Henry would destroy her. But with only mistrust and pain to bind them, can she and Adam ever find a way through regret to love and the family they could be?

Five years ago, Adam and Abbie spent three weeks enjoying an all-consuming love affair. Although brief, their closeness helped Adam deal with the recent death of his wife and made him strong enough to face the fact that he had a 3-month-old son to raise by himself. As he said goodbye to Abbie, he was resolved to deal with his guilt and to live up to his promise to raise his son with love and care.

The crux of the matter though is that unknown to him he left Abbie pregnant. Because of circumstances, Abbie never alerted him of this fact. Now, Adam has returned and Abbie must break the news to him of the son he has never met.
Wow! Talk about an intense situation! I loved the tension between the characters as they face each other. The time that has passed has alienated them, but the feelings that attracted them to each other still exist.

This story deals with the pain of abandonment and lack of trust. It also deals with the consequences of survivor guilt, as Adam blames himself for this young wife’s death due to cancer. If he had not asked her for a baby, she would have been able to treat her cancer after it was diagnosed. By the time she was diagnosed, she had been in her second trimester, seen the ultrasound pictures, and fallen in love with the baby she carried. There was no way she would endanger her baby by undergoing cancer treatment or an abortion.

Abbie’s history of family abandonment, where she was left devastated and alone, has a deep impact in her inability to trust anyone to stay and live up to their commitments. She cannot trust that Adam will be the partner and father he proposes to be. She knows her son Henry needs a father in his life, but fears Adam will abandon them eventually and Henry will suffer as she did when she was young.

This is a powerful book, full of emotion, dealing with sensitive issues, and in the end, full of hope. I would strongly recommend this love story. There are no steamy love scenes, but there is plenty of angst and deeply moving scenes for all.

It was difficult for me to determine the best age recommendation for this book. Ms. Ferrante struck a good balance between explaining what was happening and allowing the reader to bring his or her own interpretation to the chain of events. It also reinforced my hunch about the age group for which this tale was originally written.

Terror at White Otter Castle is a good choice for anyone who loves contemporary young adult horror.

Because there are two women who hardly speak, another who hardly has an inch of control, and then another who feels the last woman rounding out the group should die. It’s that last woman—curvaceous, lush, and gorgeous—that intrigues him the most. Tess is beautiful, alluring, and…his.

Tess knows pain, hatred, and hopelessness. What she doesn’t know is hope or love. Harding Grange is tempting her to discover both…with him. The massive lion shifter entices her with his strength, torments her with his body, and lures her with his tortured memories. This is one of the books in the Ridgeville series. I haven’t read any of the others and don’t worry if you haven’t either because you get caught up with the story arc and even get to meet characters from the other books.

The story plunges you immediately into what’s going on, past and present, which I found to be a plus. There’s some humor, some sadness, but most of all a sexy hero, who just happens to be a lion shapeshifter. He comes across as caring while being dominant which I felt added to his appeal. And then there’s Tess who, although this is paranormal story, you can bond with and cheer for. She’s been through a rough time and Harding is the mate who will help her heal.

What I liked most about this story was most of the scenes just featured Tess and Harding. Sometimes they were intense and the sexual tension sizzled which turned this into a fun read.

After reading Sealed With a Purr I’ll be checking out more of the series. And if you enjoy shapeshifting stories that feature creatures besides wolves, this might be a good pick for you.
