Curiosity just might be the death of Mrs. Murphy–and her human companion, Mary Minor “Harry” Haristeen. Small towns are like families: Everyone lives very close together. . .and everyone keeps secrets. Crozet, Virginia, is a typical small town-until its secrets explode into murder. Crozet’s thirty-something post-mistress, Mary Minor “Harry” Haristeen, has a tiger cat (Mrs. Murphy) and a Welsh Corgi (Tucker), a pending divorce, and a bad habit of reading postcards not addressed to her. When Crozet’s citizens start turning up murdered, Harry remembers that each received a card with a tombstone on the front and the message “Wish you were here” on the back. Intent on protecting their human friend, Mrs. Murphy and Tucker begin to scent out clues. Meanwhile, Harry is conducting her own investigation, unaware her pets are one step ahead of her. If only Mrs. Murphy could alert her somehow, Harry could uncover the culprit before the murder occurs–and before Harry finds herself on the killer’s mailing list.

Murder isn’t exclusive to big, crowded cities, as the residents of Crozet, Virginia are about to discover for their own. When the citizens of the small town start turning up dead, the local post mistress thinks the odd postcards they’d received just before their murders might be a clue. She’s soon off to the races, with the help of her tiger cat and Corgi. Will small town life in Virginia ever be the same?

Mary Minor “Harry” Harristeen is Crozet’s postmaster and keeper of Mrs. Murphy, a tiger cat, and Tee Tucker, a Welsh Corgi. Harry always seems to be at the center of everything that happens in Crozet, but not always because she wants it that way. The post office seems to be the hub of the community with the residents coming and going and arguing and fighting on her doorstep. More often than not, the chaos is brought to her, although she’s notorious for doing a bit of snooping on her own. I found Harry to be an enjoyable character. She’s smart and knows her town like no one else, which will eventually help her solve the mystery. She’s also an animal lover and treats her furry friends as if they were family members, something which really endeared her to me.

The real stars of this novel, however, are the furry P.I’s. Mrs. Murphy and Tee, along with assorted other four-legged Crozet inhabitants, gossip and sniff and help point the humans in the right direction. The relationship between Mrs. Murphy and her canine pal, Tee Tucker, is priceless. They interact in much the same way as two sisters might – not always a fan of the others, but always with love. The contact and introspection between the animals really made the story for me.

Wish You Were Here was an entertaining mystery chock full of laughs, surprises, and animal hijinks. The seriousness of the murders is tempered by the natural lightheartedness animals bring to anything. Between the never-ending parade of colorful characters, their pets, and the ongoing mystery, you’re sure to find yourself engaged to the very end.

Peter Pan grew up, all right.

Peter Pan was supposed to be the boy who never grew up. Then Neverland blew sky high. Now he’s very much an adult and playing adult games. There’s one woman he wants for his bed, his cuffs, his toys… yeah, he’s ready to do all sorts of naughty things to Wendy. If he can find her.

Wendy Darling never expected Peter to come back. She’d grown up and moved on — to write white-hot BDSM tales. Can her perfect Dom be the one man she never thought she’d see all grown up?

I no longer have to wonder what would happen if Peter Pan grew into manhood. Oh my! For that matter, I certainly never expected to find Wendy in Ohio writing steamy BDSM fiction. Author Megan Slayer gives new definition to creative license with this hot little novella.

Set in a futuristic time period and yet on Earth, Pan is still in the business of protecting the inhabitants of Neverland who were displaced when the Neverland we knew was blown away in a war for the ages. Captain Hook isn’t around to hunt the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, Peter or the fairies but that doesn’t mean they’re safe. Quite the opposite, actually. As is typical, hypocritical people try to ostracize what they don’t understand, even when they secretly pay to play with them behind closed doors. Those “closed doors” lead into the wildly popular BDSM night club owned by a now fully grown and restless Peter Pan.

There is A LOT going on in this terrifically clever short. Almost all of the characters I knew and loved from the classic are present in titillating circumstances. I had more than one “Oh, Wow” moment while reading this book. Wendy isn’t the only Darling child who couldn’t leave Neverland behind but I’ll just have to hold on to hope that Ms. Slayer has plans to give us more of Michael and John’s story.

As I mentioned, Capt. Hook isn’t around to cause trouble but that doesn’t mean Peter is free of the Hook influence. Wendy also had a run in with the present day Hook and one of his cronies who take all the fulfillment and pleasure out of the BDSM experience. Ms. Slayer does an excellent job of making the villains’ extra villainy complete with eye patches and bad attitudes.

I liked how Ms. Slayer built the tension between Wendy and Peter when they first meet face to face after being apart for so long. Wendy has grown into quite a self-sufficient woman and she has every intention of telling Peter he can fly right back out the window he came in. Old habits die hard, I guess. Peter and Wendy connected as children and that bond may have been stretched but it was never actually broken. Wendy is a bit sassier than I remembered but I think part of that is simply a false bravado so Peter doesn’t see right away how much she still very much loves him. Is he man enough now to be with a woman who’s experienced and in need of a strong, dominant man? He certainly has the right tools!

I’m really hoping Ms. Slayer plans to put her clever and creative mind to some other childhood favorites. I bet she could have a field day with Tarzan, Cinderella, Snow White and The Beauty and the Beast! Just sayin’….

Do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK! It’s fun and deliciously dark all at the same time. Don’t miss it!

The second in a four-book miniseries within the Woodcutter’s Grim Series dealing with the curse on the Shaussegeny family. Very loosely based on The Little Mermaid.

Glynnis Shaussegeny becomes bewitched by the mystery man who appears out of nowhere on the abandoned property across the lake from her family’s estate. But does Aric Sayer have even more dark secrets than she does?

Has Glynnis betrayed her chosen mate before she’s even met him?

Glynnis is a werewolf who has made a huge mistake. She was sure that she’d already met the man destined for her. When that man walks away from her, she is devastated. Even worse, this means that she has been unfaithful to her true mate. I could practically feel her pain and loneliness as she howled her anguish at the moon. It isn’t long before Glynnis becomes aware that she’s not alone. Aric Sayer has been watching her. From the moment they meet, Glynnis and Aric are drawn to each other, but Aric isn’t an ordinary man, and his past is a mystery, even to himself. Is Aric her true mate, or is Glynnis making another mistake?

I’m glad I got to know a bit more about Glynnis. In the first story, Moonlight Becomes You, she seemed carefree and at peace with the family curse. However, this tale showed Glynnis in a much different light. She is a woman with a broken heart who longs for the peace she can only attain when she unites with her true mate. To make matters worse, her brother Lance has recently connected with his mate and they have a beautiful baby. While Glynnis is happy for her brother, she can’t help but feel a bit jealous. I think her mixed emotions add a very human element to this supernatural tale. That’s because a man with an generic super viagra undiagnosed heart problem? Diabetes can https://pdxcommercial.com/order-4561 levitra purchase online damage them that may ultimately need artificial dialysis or kidney transplant.

Glynnis is also very honest and straightforward, traits which made her even more endearing. When she and Aric meet, the connection between them is powerful, but Glynnis holds back. I was very pleased that she resisted rushing into a serious relationship until he knew about her curse as well as her previous relationship. She is never cryptic with him, but she also never bombards him with too much information. Her patience allows him to freely choose whether to join her or not. I admire her courage at telling the truth even though it might mean she loses Aric forever.

Aric’s history is definitely interesting. I can’t say much about his true nature without spoiling the story, but I will say that he isn’t a werewolf. He’s a unique supernatural creature that adds an interesting dimension to the magic surrounding Glynnis and her family. Ms. Wiesner has packed a lot of information about Aric and his history into this short story, but it all fit together well and never felt rushed or overwhelming. I really enjoyed watching Glynnis and Aric discover the truth of his origins. This build up of information also led to a very exciting climax that had me speeding through the pages.

I‘m glad I had the opportunity to read Bewitched. Readers wanting to enjoy this great addition to the Woodcutter’s Grim Series should definitely read the first story in this “miniseries” within the overall series in order to better understand the Shaussegeny family. Once readers visit Woodcutter’s Grim, I have no doubt they’ll want to come back. I will certainly be reading the other stories in this series soon.

Regina Blake is a normal secretary until there’s trouble — then she becomes the Dark Huntress. Things are about to change when she meets a man whose electrifying power is a fine match to her own, and he’s set on winning her heart. To top it off, there’s a string of bank robberies which escalate into the high profile kidnapping of a famous actor.

Michael Flynn hadn’t realized the extent of superhero and supervillain society. When he rushes to a bank to find it destroyed, he meets a black-latex-clad woman who makes his pulse race. As he’s drawn deeper into her world, he finds himself intrigued and eager to have her.

Who’s interested in a comic book-esque storyline with a bit of spice? You can’t see me, but I’m raising my hand.

Regina Blake is just a typical, run of the mill secretary. On the outside that is. When no one is looking and crime is being committed she is the superhero, “Dark Huntress”. She has inhuman powers that help her save the world from evil doers. Regina is extremely dedicated to her work and, with the help of the government, in a secret plan to keep the world safe. Comic book, right?

Then there is Michael Flynn, hottie attorney by day, “Electrifier” by night. Unlike Regina he fights for what’s right at all times. It becomes apparent that Michael is driven in all aspects of his life. Yet you are endeared by his naivety when it comes to the world of “super” beings. Not having met many people sharing his unique abilities, nor realizing that the government was aware of such people is all an eye opening experience for our hero.

The fireworks between Regina and Michael are instant, even on page one. I really liked how they didn’t fight the attraction and understood that sometimes you have to work together to obtain a common goal. Falling in love is just a bonus in this instance. The tension of having to hide one’s true self visibly disappears as our hero and heroine grow closer together.

Overall, I’d have to say I’m 50/50 with this book. I loved the plot as a whole. Being a fan of superheros and comics, this is just my kind of storyline. Adding to the story with a rich character is Kit. He’s Regina’s right hand man and a super human to boot. But he’s also slightly in love with her and lets his jealousy peek out a bit.

However, I felt things move a little too quickly to make sense. Things seemed to go from battle to battle to battle with little to no rest. And the villain in this story felt a little thin to me. I was a little confused by why he did some of the things he did. There was no real fluidity to his actions.

With that said, I think Sarah Makela created an interesting world and I’ll be very interested to see where she takes it. I’m exceptionally interested in Kit’s story because if you haven’t noticed I might have a little crush on him. So for anyone who likes X-men or Batman or even the ARCO series, you’ll very much enjoy this.

If you were given one wish, a chance to change a single event from your past, present, or future, would you?

When Dylan arrives home to reconcile with her father before the Grim Reaper comes to sweep him away, she is given that exact opportunity. But the gift of one wish doesn’t come without a clear warning: “Everything in this life has a consequence. What you choose today could alter what might already be.”

With so many options to choose from, Dylan has to do some major soul searching and only has three months to decide. Should she take the risk of a wish that might not actually bring her happiness or leave her life in the hands of fate?

If a fairy offered you one wish, what would you wish for? Dylan Davis has spent many years away from home making her business thrive. She left behind her youthful love and her dad, after a huge fight. When her father becomes ill, she gets on a plane to go home. On the plane, she meets an interesting woman named Fey. There’s something different about Fey. Will Dylan come across her again?

Cole Winters is the man she left behind. Sexy and charming, he now has a son. When Dylan arrives at her father’s ranch, she sees Cole’s son. Her heart sinks. Cole has moved on, it seems, but she finds she still loves him. She runs into Cole who’s taking care of her father’s horses. There’s sensuality between them that can’t be denied. She holds back then finds that Cole is not with the mother of his son, a woman who abandoned their child as a baby.

This is a short story, but the character development is done well enough so that a reader cares what happens to Cole and Dylan. There are things Dylan doesn’t know about her father, and her discovery adds depth to the story.

Cole wants Dylan back. Can he get her despite her continuing hesitation?

The story gets even more interesting when it takes a paranormal turn. A beautiful fairy visits Dylan and grants her one wish, but she warns her to consider it very carefully. She has three months to decide. Every wish has its consequences. Dylan wonders if she could see a preview of results.

This is a charming little story with great chemistry between the hero and heroine, and the dash of paranormal adds intrigue. Recommended as a fast read.

Revenge can be sweet…and oh so sexy.

Lena Richards’s whirlwind vacation to Europe with a friend is a welcome chance to shake her pre-wedding jitters—until she learns her high-school sweetheart is cheating on her, Hawaiian-style. Figuring all’s fair, she indulges in a fling of her own with a sexy New Yorker she meets in Amsterdam whose kiss blows her mind—and the lid off her hormones.

Tyler Bentz is wary that the petite bombshell, who only a short time ago insisted their one kiss must never happen again, has done a complete 180. His questions only make it clear she’s interested in probing of the sexual kind. Who is he to turn her down?

As they burn their way across Europe, something shifts, and it’s not just the earth moving with their exploding passion. Lena begins to realize what it really means to fall in love. And Tyler finds himself tumbling hard and fast.

Reality catches up with them in Paris, leaving Tyler to wonder if Lena’s really the one, or if he’s nothing more to her than a pawn in her game of revenge.

Ten pages. That is how long it took for me to get completely hooked by Foreign Affair.

The story at first appears to follow a traditional plot in the romance genre: romance sceptic Lena Richards, trapped in a loveless, sexless relationship, will discover there is more to life than a controlling husband to be, and her job as a travel agent. However, as the story progresses, the cliché fades away and the story becomes something very different. Foreign Affair becomes a sweet, erotic tale about a budding relationship filled with lies, half truths, and secrets.

Although some characters, like Tyler’s ex girlfriend (crazy, rich, phony woman), Lena’s fiancée (your usual controlling misogynist jerk), or even Lena’s best friend, Stephanie, (beautiful, stunning, glamorous that made Lena pale in comparison) were a bit stereotypical, the two main characters came off as real live people.

I loved the way Lena becomes flustered around good-looking men and the fact that she’s curvy and not a hottie but simply a cute girl. I adored Tyler for his good looks, his willingness to follow Lena’s rules and especially for his way of making Lena feel special and help her become comfortable in her own skin.

Being realistic, the novel could have ended fifty pages earlier with a happy ending. The final misunderstanding between the characters was terribly frustrating, but it was worth it just to enjoy a few more laughs and to glimpse what the couple could have if they took the step to understand each other.

It was fun to read a story written before the Euro, for it gave the whole setting an even greater romantic perspective. Ms. Stevens does a fantastic job of introducing us into this couple’s world and showing us how gradually their attraction becomes something much more meaningful.

Foreign Affair is definitive must read that will leave you eager to take a trip and search for your own foreign affair.

Lily is a tragic and lonely vampire, unwittingly brought into her existence by Ian, a selfish but beautiful maker who has captured her heart for decades, even though he left her with no compass on how to navigate her strange new world. When she meets a coven of vampires that takes her in and treats her like family, all she thought she knew is brought into question. Things are further complicated when she finally finds love – Christian, a human man. Just when she’s finally found happiness, Ian reappears, threatening to destroy everything Lily holds dear. When he once again removes all her choices, Lily is thrown into a world where Ian’s ongoing sins are unstoppable and her family and newfound love seem lost forever.

Lily is nineteen going on ninety. At the human age of nineteen her fiancé makes her into a vampire – and she didn’t even know about his passion for drinking human blood.

Sixty years later Lily is lonely and bored and begins to travel. Luck is on her side as she finds a vampire family who want her to join them. Their warmth and caring envelop her giving her the love she didn’t even know she lacked. Lily decides to take an archaeology course and meets Christian and falls instantly in love. Two problems here. Christian is human, and human/vampire relationships are frowned on. Another problem is the daughter of her family who brings home her new vampire boyfriend. This is none other than Ian, Lily’s maker. Sparks begin to fly when Ian decides if he can’t have Lily, no one will.

I found the beginning of this book to be very slow. Although the author had to give the background to Lily and introduce a few characters who reappeared later in the book, I felt as if I was being told what was happening rather than experiencing it. However when Lily left her home behind her and set out for new horizons the story began to increase its pace.

By the time she admitted to herself she loved Christian, I was hooked. Lily and Christian plus Lily’s family entered my mind quite easily, I could see them, hear them and watch them act out their lives. Unfortunately Ian didn’t come across the same way. A shame really, as one of his helpers really dazzled me.

For lovers of vampire stories this is a definite yes. It gives an insight into vampire lives, the way they earn their living and how they feed. The ethics of the latter are very interesting – yes vampires do have ethics when it comes to who they feed from. All you vampire lovers out there this is one you should read, and it’s the first of a series so there’s more to come.

Unable to resist the lure of finding her niece, Josie picks up the crumbs of clues left behind. With her old friend and savior, pod-hunter Quin Aguilar at her side, she seeks out Fern Betterncourt who is assumed to be sleeping for over a hundred years.

From an unlikely source, Fern’s location is discovered, and together with her husband, Josie seeks out her last link to her past. Will Fern want to be found? And will finding Fern be enough to bury the ghosts that haunt Josie? Can Josie bring herself to destroy her last remaining family in order to save herself?

The Eternal Knot, the final chapter in the Lancaster trilogy. Will Josie finally rest in peace in the new future she lives in?

The Lancaster family have ruled the world for three generations. John, the current president, is gradually handing control back to the individual countries. Josie is John’s three hundred year old wife and thanks to the invention of the stasis pod Josie has a biological age of twenty-seven.

Trouble follows Josie. Her attempt to find the last remaining member of her family causes chaos to her friends, country and most particularly her husband. John and Josie are very much individuals, but the love is evident from the first paragraph of the first page. Love drives their lives, but this is by no means the main force of the book. John is an indulgent husband, but when politics are involved Josie knows she must toe the line – but sometimes she forgets.

The Eternal Knot is an appropriate title for a book that twists and turns, throwing up the unexpected, then turning back on itself. Every time I thought I’d got things sorted, another sub plot appeared forcing me to continue reading to find out what happened.

I loved how everything linked together, even though at times I couldn’t fathom how the author would find a way for linking various events to the main story. For instance, why the appearance of an ex-girlfriend of John’s? What possible link could she have to the mayhem that was Josie’s life? But T.K. Toppin cleverly wove this woman into the plot.

John’s family help and thwart the couple as they travel through danger – both physical and political. Their friends are staunch allies in their quest for Josie’s past and present life.

This is not a romance, although romance plays its part.  The Eternal Knot is a science fiction story with a difference. The despotic ruler shows a warm, soft side, his wife swears like a trooper, looks like an angel and can defend herself better than most men. The weapons of the future are ingenious and the Citadel of the Lancaster ruled planet is very easy to imagine from the way it eases into the story.

I would suggest this book is a definite must for lovers of science fiction.

Some of the women on the List wait up for him on December 24th and he makes sure to deck their halls with every visit.

Cadence Harris did everything right in her life. Played by the rules, dated the “good” boys, said the right things, worked at the right job. But this year for Christmas, she wants something entirely different. She wants off the Nice List and in a big way. Never in her wildest dreams can she imagine what’s in store when Jack pays her an accidental visit.

The night will prove that Santa always delivers.

Tired of always being the nice girl and the go-to girl, Cadence is ready to do whatever it takes to get on the naughty list. So when Jack shows up at her house she’s more than ready to let him show her just how to get on that naughty list. Jack is just as tired of his job of taking care of the naughty list for Santa. Feeling empty inside and wanting more from his life he finds himself drawn to Cadence and her sweetness. Both know that this night will more than likely be it for them but can they ignore the feelings they each begin to have for the other?

I really enjoyed this story. Jack is a bad boy through and through but he has a heart underneath all his bravado and Cadence may be just the woman to tear down the walls he has built around it. I loved watching the attraction that the two feel for each other turn into so much more as the story goes on. I adore Jack and was glad to see that Cadence was able to see the man behind his façade. She’s a smart woman who soon learns how to stand on her own because of Jack. The two make a wonderful couple. Each one complimenting and giving the other just what they need.

These characters where vividly brought to life for me and the author did a great job of pulling me into their world right from the very start. The love these two begin to share shines right off of the pages and when the end came and I had to leave it had me wishing I could come back and visit them again.

Part of the appeal of reading a story is living vicariously through the characters and that’s what happens in Personal Tutor. She could actually be one of your best friends who’s going through a rough patch which I felt was the most enjoyable part of this story. There’s that push pull thing that makes this sort of story fun, too. And when she does make the decision, I felt like I was actually thrown into her next dilemma; two hunky guys waiting for attention.
