This changes when his friends meet Francine drowning her sorrows over her cheating boyfriend at a bar, and she divulges her darkest fantasy. Grant calls Francine and gives her the opportunity to live out her fantasy for 24 hours.

Ms. Gordon’s Model Fantasy is a “Harlequin Presents meets BDSM”. Grant Franklin is your classic hero: good looking, rich, and successful. Beyond a Harlequin hero, Grant Franklin is a dominant. Reading about him simply made me drool. Francine is a stunning model and although she’s rich, she hasn’t been corrupted by her success. Francine embodies an untouchable innocence that is her true beauty. Grant and Francine combine to create a couple you truly care about. Ms. Gordon created a sensually-charged romance with domination and submission. It is simply erotic. I totally bought that Grant and Francine fell in love in the first 24 hours they spent together. This is not a novel where submission is proven by how much pain the submissive can absorb from the dominant. Instead the domination and submission is based in pleasure and beyond erotic. Both Grant and Francine have friends in Model Fantasy. I must confess that I’m both curious and excited to see how their friends’ relationships will pan out. However it seems like there were just a few too many supporting characters in this novel. Sometimes it felt like the supporting characters were there to set up new novels, instead of enhancing Grant and Francine’s story. After saying this though, I can’t wait to read their stories.

Model Fantasy is a wonderfully erotic book with a hero and heroine you’ll love, detailed sex, and a melodic voice. Abby Gordon has become one of my “must read” authors.

This story started hot and didn’t let up until the last page. The opening almost had a mysterious feel to it: who was this woman, was she even real? You know Bram is thinking the same thing, but when she disappears you’re asking more questions. It’s almost a relief when Bram runs into her again and learns she works in a Laundromat to pay her way through college. Things really heat up between them but no matter what happens between them she won’t reveal her name to Bram which I think really added to the mysterious nature of this story. Just when you thought you were figuring out this character, you learn she’s got an ex-lover who’s stalking her which adds yet another mysterious element to the story.

I would have loved to see this story longer just to see what happened to Bram and his goddess. Bram comes across as sexy and seems to really care for this young woman. The author does a good job of not making Lipstick on your Collar seem like it’s just sex between these two. The dialogue is great and the pace perfect for this short story which in fact is about fifty pages long (the copy includes a bonus story by Inez Kelley and another by talented author Dee Tenorio)

If hot, steamy stories are for you, I’d recommend Lipstick on his Collar.

She is smart, talented and doesn’t take guff from anyone. I loved that she was willing to take chances, and wasn’t afraid to try new things.

Reed is a fantastic character. He is strong, intelligent and determined to win, no matter what. I liked that he recognized in Frankie many of his own strengths and ideals. I also loved when he recognized that he couldn’t win Frankie like he would other women, and so came up with something they could both live with. The inner doubts he had make him more vulnerable, and I loved it when he discovered what he was willing to do to keep Frankie.

This is a very hot and steamy book, as most of Mari Carr’s books tend to be. But there is a sense of humor behind it and the passion and heat are, as always, tempered with humor and romance. The wager becomes less about who will win, and more about discovering who these two are, deep inside. The ending was all I could have hoped for, and I recommend this one whole-heartedly to all.

This is a short little read, but it packs a wallop. Although I didn’t feel like I got to really understand the characters, such is the downfall of the short story. Still, there is more than enough heat to carry the tale. I didn’t get a whole lot of background on the characters, but it worked because this is an emotionally driven story. Even though this story is essentially short and fast paced, the connection between the three principals is palpable. I wanted to see what would happen between Maggie, Van, and Sascha. Yeah, I needed a cool drink by the time I finished the story. Just when I thought they couldn’t do anything else, bam, another twist I didn’t see.

If you want a book that’s heavy on heat, then you need to read Tattoo Dream. It’s guaranteed to singe your screen.

Ummmm….Poisoned Magic is an interesting, if different and disconcerting read. Christine McKay has written a paranormal story of magic, witchcraft, possession, obsession and deceit that also brings out baser human desires. When a young woman dabbles in the unknown to have the man of her dreams, she had no idea what she was asking for. This story is hot, exciting, and will keep you flipping pages as fast as you can, but be forewarned, the ending will probably leave you gasping for breath.

Pierce My Heart

Jessie is a research scientist and has little personal life but when she’s the designated driver for her friends at a sex toys party, she has a strange experience she can’t find a scientific explanation for. This story is quite a bit longer than the first book in this neat little book and sets up Jessie’s life for the reader with a lot of details that at times can make you want the author to just move on and get to the point.

However, it doesn’t distract from the story so much that you don’t want to continue reading. Especially after meeting neighbor, Michael and new lab assistant, Deacon. These two are all the hunky temptation any woman could want and practically have “lick here” written all over them. And then there’s Scott, Jessie’s colleague and friend, who Jessie hasn’t really looked at in any other context. And I’m not going to tell you why, but when you get into the meat of this story, you’re going to fall in love.

Where the first story in this book is very disturbing and not exactly in a good way, Pierce My Heart is its polar opposite. Once I learned of Jessie’s life, her heartaches and heartbreaks, I could identify with her reasons for not wanting to do anything but work.

Christine McKay has always been one of my favorite authors with her frank, friendly, conversational style of writing and I was not disappointed with Mysteries & Magick.

I enjoyed Lemon Kisses, even though two of the stories weren’t to my taste although you may find differently. I felt each story did stay true to this sub-genre of gay romance and truly entertaining. So if you were looking to try out yaoi, this book gives you a sample of several different sub genres inside of yaoi while being a fun read.

This was a very fast paced little novella. Lilly was pretty likable as a heroine with a heavy burden to work thru. Who wouldn’t have some angst after being kidnapped and sold to a slave trader on another planet, right? She comes off as severely independent but you just know she is hoping by some miraculous event to find a man immune to her gift. Like Lilly, Dallas has some issues to work thru that have bruised his self-confidence as a leader.

If you’re in the mood for a little sci-fi alien mojo that will scorch your e-reader, you will love A Touch Of Lilly! I think you’ll agree that Ms. Pierce has a very talented voice for menage as well as out of this world action/adventure.

They should have looked cold, but the way he was looking at her made her wonder if someone had turned off the air-conditioning.

KRAKENS!

What do krakens look like? I had this discussion with my sister, who is very literal minded as well as a friend of mine…both felt my kraken seemed more like a giant octopus. I snorted. I mean, we don’t know what a kraken looks like. We’ve all seen what the movies show us, but come on! Since when has the movies ever really got it right?

Legend shows them as giant squid. Greek mythology (and the movies) show them standing on two feet, with horns… pshaw!

The real clues about kraken lie in real world cephalopods. Which are fascinating!

Cephalopods are known for the flexibility of their behavior. They exist in every ocean of earth. And are very social creatures, will shoal with fish if isolated from their own kind. They are true masters of disguise.

For example, cuttlefish are sneaky. Males protect their females from other males so some males have learned to camouflage themselves as females in order to sneak past the guardians. And the females don’t object to mating with these clever guys…because they are so smart? I think so!

Octopus are brainy, they figure out how to unscrew jars, use tools, and are masters at survival.

Squid are predatory and quite ferocious!

Well, if you put all of this together, you may have the real character and building blocks of the kraken. The Great Albino Kraken is a character in my book…a sort of guardian to the pirate world, the center of which is Tortuga.
