She never wants to go home again.

For Jess Morgan, Destiny Falls holds too many painful memories. Nine years ago, a logging accident near the remote timber town killed her dad and her high school sweetheart. Despite Jess’s broken heart, her mother immediately sought comfort with another man. That choice tore Jess apart and drove her to seek a life far away. But now fate steps in, and family obligations force her return home. Before long, she’s convinced that persuading her mom to live with her in Toronto will repair their bond and Jess’s own sense of belonging. However, she doesn’t count on a long-ago friend re-entering her life and challenging those same convictions.

Rugged forester Adam Wright believes in family, roots, and not running from heartache. Now, all he wants is to help Jess break down the walls of the lonely sanctuary she’s built for herself and heal her past hurts. But it’s not until she rejects his proposal that Adam realizes his dogged persistence has pushed her even further away—not at all what he intended. Has he lost his chance? Or can he convince Jess that where she truly belongs is with him…forever?

Stuck in a quagmire of heartbreaking experiences in her teens, Jess Morgan’s ability to move on emotionally is stalled even though she functions at top speed in her upscale merchandizing career in Toronto. When she must return to Destiny Falls where she experienced these life-changing hurts, she is swamped with misgivings. Her veneer of big city sophistication gets chipped away little by little. Whether she feels like she has come “home” or not, the people of Destiny Falls believe she has and draw her into the web of small community living. Adam is comfortable in his own skin. He put his roots down deep in Destiny Falls and has that sense of belonging he needs. He is just as tenacious, steadfast, and persistent as his cousin Molly. He works to make Destiny Falls a better and more prosperous place to live He works hard in his business to obtain contracts that generate jobs and good wages for the local people. However, his attitude that others should like and be happy with what he is happy with has cost him dearly. Crysta and his unborn child are lost to him because of this attitude and now it colors his view of Jess whom he feels abandoned her mother and her hometown. He doesn’t know the circumstances and is too quick to judge.

Nora, Jess’s mother, is not blameless in Jess’s feeling she doesn’t really belong in Destiny Falls or anywhere else for that matter. Caught up in her own needs and loves over the years, Nora lost her connection with her only child. She feels she has no right to make demands on Jess even though grief and regrets have sapped her vitality. Some of her choices have driven Jess away, yet she longs for absolution.

As Jess inches her way toward a decision about where she belongs and about her willingness to risk being hurt again, she tells herself that being alone keeps her safe from hurt. However, as she and Nora open up to each other and Adam eases his way into her life, thoughts, and heart, Jess fears breaking free of her cocoon of isolation and feels a sense of panic about flying out into a world where emotional dangers abound.

Cindy Procter-King weaves together the lives of her characters with a skill that creates a beautiful pattern of love with just enough darkness in the design to highlight the beauty of unconditional friendship, familial love that ebbs and flows but never disappears, and best of all, she weaves in the love of a man and woman who suffered bitter grief and loss but come out of that dark part of life to the glorious light of true love.

Where She Belongs is a gentle story that touches the heart.

One thing I really enjoyed about this story was the well drawn characters. Everyone seemed so lifelike, even secondary characters like Emma’s mother were interesting. Plus, the setting was well described and I imagined myself in this small southern town.

And what can I say about Jackson? He’s sexy and now a mature man who runs a mechanics shop. How can Emma resist him and leave town again is a question you continue to ask yourself as you read further into the plot.

Emma has a new life in LA but when things heat up and get interesting between these old lovers you find yourself turning the page to see if Emma opts to stay with Jackson…yes, you’re hoping she does, or will she head back to her interior design business in California?

The dialogue between Emma and Jackson is really insightful. The sex scenes are hot and plentiful.

Lanie attends her high school reunion and has her heart set on Rex, who was the school outcast.

The first thing I liked about Point Blank was that Rex, despite being a sexy guy, had once been bullied and other kids were told to stay away from him. It made it a welcome change from a heroine chasing after the football hero. Lanie has always seen the good in him and it comes across as not just a physical attraction which I felt made her a sympathetic character and one you hope gets her man.

I liked the dialogue between these two characters. It was natural sounding, moved the story along and the pace was just right for this short read.

Sex scenes are hot and frequent and the outcome more than satisfying. If you love stories about old acquaintances reconnecting…or connecting for the first time, this is probably a good pick for you.

The sun’s not the only thing that’s too hot to handle.

President Vardin isn’t the first vampire politician to make empty promises. Humans can work at night, he says. Humans will be safe on the streets, he says. It’s all bull. I’m still stuck on day shift at Langley’s Round The Clock Emporium, trying to earn enough to live from night to night.

If I thought the sun’s harsh rays had turned society upside down, watch what happens when I witness a murder in the alley. The police keep bombarding me with questions until a detective with a bad attitude walks in and takes over. He’s unbelievably hot, way out of my league, and way, way out of my comfort zone. Because he’s the one thing I fear most. A vampire.

Then I learn why the police seem so interested in me. My ex-husband is drawing a series of murders in his new comics. I’m in every one of them, and it looks like I’m supposed to be the last victim. The detective’s interest in my past—and his protective instincts—are bordering on unprofessional, but I can’t seem to bring myself to care.

Because the last place I should want to be is the safest place on earth…a vampire’s embrace.

Missy Jane has written a fast paced thrill ride, filled with murder, betrayal and hidden plots galore.

The President is a vampire who assures humans they are safe to work at night and be out after dark. With humans the minority, he swears they will be protected. Zaria Stonewell isn’t so sure, and so she works the day shift, keeping herself away from the horrors of vampire that terrify her. At least, until she witnesses a ‘biting incident’ from the window at work, one that becomes a murder.

Zaria knows this will boost her nightmares up even more than before. The detective assigned to the case, Gregory Parsons is a vampire, hot and sexy, but Zaria wants nothing to do with him. Some men with erectile levitra for sale online dysfunction are hesitant to discuss their condition with other people. Stress, depression, anxiety disorder etc. has bad impact on the production of buy levitra without prescription male testosterone level that affect erection quality as well. This achievement go to the drugshop levitra generika of the drug implementation can help millions of ED sufferers. The only thing one needs to tackle today is the inner commander cialis fear. When she finds out her ex-husband has been drawing comics of sadistic vampire murders, each involving her in some way, Zaria is worried and afraid. When Detective Parsons offers to protect her, she is apprehensive, but agrees in spite of her feelings.

But he has a hidden agenda, and soon Zaria finds she is in more danger than ever, as events from her past resurface to dog her steps. When things go horribly wrong, Zaria has no idea who she can trust, but knows she has to get out of sight and lay low. Can Zaria find a way to get through her nightmarish past and trust a vampire? Once Greg betrays that trust, can she still depend on him to keep her alive? Can they uncover who is behind the whole plot, and come out of the mess unscathed?

I like books that keep me guessing, and this one kept me on edge right to the end. I like her alternate world where humans are in the minority and vampires are the authority figures. The characters are well defined and multifaceted, and the story is original and intriguing.

Zaria Stonewell has been on her own since she was a teen. She is strong and determined to take care of herself. When her nightmares of the past become all too real, she has to face her fears and trust someone with her past. I like Zaria for her courage and her smart mouthed attitude, and her ability to adapt when necessary. I also like that she doesn’t immediately condemn Greg, but waits to find out his reason for the betrayal.

Gregory Parsons is handsome, hot and a vampire, everything Zaria fears and despises. But he is also her best chance at surviving the coming events. He is strong and willing to protect Zaria from being harmed. Once he discovers he’s been tricked into betraying her, he does everything he can to help her and keep her safe. I liked that he was able to admit he was wrong, and that he would do what he could to make it up to her. And he gets the injuries to prove it.

The secondary characters in this are all well defined. There were a couple of big surprises in this, like Zaria’s vampire landlord who isn’t what he seems to be, and the truth behind her philandering ex-husband. This story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through, and I was surprised several times at what was going on. This is a great thrill ride of a story, and I recommend this to everyone who likes a good murder mystery with a special twist.

Come join a meeting of the First Love Cookie Club!

“On Christmas Eve, if you sleep with kismet cookies under your pillow and dream of your own true love, he will be your destiny.”

It’s Christmas time at the Horny Toad Tavern, located in the heart of Twilight, TX. Elvis is on the jukebox, the lights twinkle outside…and inside, Raylene Pringle is wondering if it’s going to be another “Blue Christmas” without her true love, Earl.

But things are about to change—because ‘tis the season for unexpected romance and a surprise mother/daughter reunion…reminding Raylene that you should never disbelieve the legend of the kismet cookies!

Christmas in Twilight, Texas is filled with magic, love and hokey holiday traditions that make a reader want to keep coming back to this wonderful town with its spectacular cast of characters. This is a short holiday read that will have you captivated by not one but two emotional love stories, one old and one new.

It’s nearly Christmas in Twilight and Raylene Pringle has a major case of the holiday blues. She’s had no word from Earl since last Christmas, needs to hire a cocktail waitress for the Horny Toad Tavern and harbors feelings of regret for the daughter she gave up so long ago. Raylene’s story is a carry-over from Wilde’s First Love Cookie Club however it is only a secondary plot in this story.

The main love story here is for Shannon Dugan, a polished New York socialite who has come to Twilight to confront the mother who gave her up at birth and never looked back. Shannon is struggling to get her life back together. Her life was turned upside down last Christmas with the passing of her grandfather, discovering her husband was a con man who cleaned out her bank accounts and then the visit from Earl Pringle with the shocking news that her birth mother was alive and well in Twilight, Texas. Shannon has come to Twilight to get some answers and gets more than she bargained for, a man who wants her and maybe a new start on life.

Nate Deavers, the hero of this story is a retired Navy SEAL now a gas rig worker who is trying to forget his memories of the war in Afghanistan. Corticosteroids are anti-inflammation drugs that are typically administered to lupus cheapest viagra in stock patients; but can thin out the bones and expose you to harmful health risks. And most of customers are now taking it as a means to relieve various challenges in life, such as loss of a loved one, stress and hormonal alterations, illnesses, specific drugs, or viagra pharmacy drug/alcohol abuse. Nate is a regular of the Horny Toad Tavern, who drops in for one drink and a little company. Then one fateful day he catches sight of a gorgeous pair of legs and then the profile of the owner of those spectacular legs and Nate knows he is a goner. He wants nothing more than to get to know Shannon and comes on strong and yet so sweetly. He is one of those brooding, strong and silent types who is looking for that one person who is his other half and isn’t afraid to wait for her to come along. He believes Shannon is that one.

Lori Wilde never ceases to amaze me with her talent for creating a story that grabs a reader’s emotions and won’t let go. This story made me feel a gamut of emotions from sadness for Raylene, sympathy for Shannon and made me want to cheer for Nate. Wilde gives her readers true insight into her characters’ minds with vivid descriptions and imagery and a romantic story that pulls on our heartstrings. Although it may not be necessary to read the other stories in Wilde’s Twilight series, I would recommend that readers at least read The First Love Cookie Club before reading this particular short story, only because this story is really a continuation from there and I think readers will be able to understand this story better and like it that much more.

The Christmas Cookie Chronicles: Raylene was another great addition to Wilde’s Twilight series which is a favorite of this reader and I recommend picking this up if you like one of those feel good holiday stories with a little laughter, a little tears and a really happy ending.

I’ve had the honor of reading Claire Ashgrove before so this bountiful, beautiful, hot sizzling romance is not surprising to me. It’s also not surprising that she never disappoints and that she tells such a complete story in so few pages.

Her plot is my all time favorite: second chance romance — and just wait until you read the dance scene. There are very few pills in the market which provides bets effects at a less cost and discount levitra get more is amongst those and will never let you down from inside. Her characters are unforgettable, enigmatic, heartfelt and so real you might meet them on the street.

Her hero Mason is not your textbook nerd, he’s more a geek with attitude. Her heroine Kirsten is the girl next door whose insecurities are her biggest downfall. She has the second chance plot down to perfection in her depiction of this couple’s struggle back into each other’s arms. The love scenes while not many are ones you’ll be reading, and then re-reading over and over because they are so fraught with emotion, sensuality and heat. I couldn’t get enough of them.

There are only a couple of things that I found fault with: first, that it ended and second, that I can’t give it a higher rating. It’s one of the best romances I’ve read in a while. It will appeal to the true romance lover, the sophisticated romance lover, the romance lover who craves the emotional turmoil that comes with a love story.

Thank you Ms. Ashgrove for taking me on an adventure that I will repeat many times, I can’t wait to read what you come up with next.

Set in the late 1800s, Samuel’s Promise describes the love story of Samuel and Nancy Ruggles who were forced together by faith and the desire to serve God overseas in Hawaii. Samuel’s friend Henry Opukaha’ia, a native Hawaiian, dies before he can lead the missionaries to his homeland, Samuel promises him on his deathbed he will indeed return to Hawaii to fulfill his friend’s dying wish. Samuel has one problem—he’s not married and the company will only accept couples to the group. Nancy Wells works in the office of the Foreign Mission School and she too believes God is calling her to serve overseas, but after her true love was killed years earlier, Nancy closed her heart to everyone but God, and learns she too must find a husband quickly if her dream is to become reality.

Nancy is stuck in the past. For the last ten years, she’s mourned her dead love, Thomas, and refused to move on. Now God’s going to give her a kick in the rear, throwing her in the path of Samuel Ruggles. Both are unmarried, both feel the call as missionaries, and both will need to marry someone by the end of the week if they want to go on the mission trip to the Sandwich Islands.

Both Nancy and Samuel are well portrayed. I felt Nancy’s humiliation when she overhears a conversation between Samuel and Lucy Thurston, who, with her husband, runs a mission school. Samuel puts his foot right in his mouth, telling Mrs. Thurston he’s not interested in marrying Nancy, even to secure a place with the mission. Poor Nancy. Every time the author described Nancy’s stringy brown hair, I wanted to haul her off to CVS and buy her a large bottle of volumizing shampoo. But, alas, no CVS in the late 1800’s, and, after a little prompting from God in the form of a dream about the two of them, Samuel decides Nancy is the woman for him. Yes, I did enjoy seeing Samuel squirm as he tries to convince Nancy he really does want to marry her.

This is at bottom a straightforward story of the beginning of a marriage and a sea voyage, without many twists and turns. In spite of this, the author managed to hold my interest throughout. I worried, reading about poor Samuel’s chest congestion, that he had consumption – in which case his goose would have been cooked – but, fortunately, it turned out to be what I’m guessing was a bad case of pneumonia (the author never specifies), and Nancy spends most of the sea voyage nursing Samuel back to health.

I did find the missionary aspects of this novel disturbing, as I believe very strongly in not imposing my own cultural prejudices on others, and that is exactly what I see the missionaries do with the islanders when they make them clothing. However, putting aside my disparaging views of missionaries in general, in this case the author has done a good job in showing that the islanders, or specifically Hewahewa, are looking to be saved.

I was not, I admit, paying attention in Social Studies, and thus the information that the author manages to drop into the novel about the Sandwich Islanders and the visions of their spiritual leader, Hewahewa interesting enough to encourage me to look for a book about the history of the islands. There’s just enough here to move the novel forward and tantalize the reader. Library, here I come.

If you like historical romance and want a satisfying, inspirational story, don’t miss this well written, well plotted novel. You won’t be disappointed.

In one night, Sasha Edwards’ life forever changes when a rogue Lupus viciously attacks her and infects her with the Lupus virus. But his professional and personal boundaries are tested when he discovers Sasha is the woman he’s been waiting for his entire life—his True Mate.

Sasha must dig deep to find the courage she never knew she possessed when Flynn tells her the truth of her new life: she’s not only a wolf but his mate as well. Can they trust each other enough to reclaim a long-denied passion? And can they stop the ancient evil pursuing them before it destroys their life together yet again?

What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger, a motto that Sasha will soon learn to appreciate.

Sasha Edwards’ life is about to change. Attacked after a night out with friends, she is thrust into the secret world of werewolves. She was an average woman with an average life. To the pack surrounding her she is anything but average. She has astonishingly survived the attack, the first woman ever. Destiny’s Path is a good story with moments of heart pounding suspense. The plot was nicely built up to allow for the appreciation of Sasha’s development. I did enjoy the new take on the prophecy. It was a surprising little twist that seemed perfect. I was able to follow the story quite easily and found it very satisfying. I did have a sense that there are more stories to come. At least I hope so.

As Ms. Hunter built her world, I was drawn in. I felt like I was home; all comfy and warm. Her writing was soothing and not rushed. The story was well paced and an easy read. Local TV reporter Jane Hunter never wanted to attend another Summerville High School reunion—not after the explosive split with her ex-husband twenty years ago. But the opportunity to defuse his mean-spirited campaign to smear her is too enticing to miss. Jane Hunter has been the object of Ron Granger’s affection since their high school days when both were considered nerdy and shy. Of course Ron couldn’t tell Jane how he felt because they were part of a threesome of platonic friends: studious Ron, plain Jane and jock Cliff DeWitt. Jane joins them, and after a bit of acrimony between the ex-partners, she suggests a truce: leave the past behind and move on with their lives. But can they?

It’s difficult to show a lot of character depth in a story of only forty-four pages, but author Bostrom has done a fantastic job of creating empathetic characters in the persons of Ron and Jane. Choosing to tell this story from Ron’s point of view was a good move by Bostrom, because Ron is the character with the most to lose, and his feelings toward Jane are what makes him the perfect hero.

Red Leather Reunion provides an intriguing glimpse into the lives of classmates after a quarter-century hiatus and mirrors the realities in readers’ lives. I cheered for Ron and Jane and was not disappointed. Brava Ms. Bostrom.

This was a really good story that I truly enjoyed reading. The characters were well thought out and the story line believable. It moved at an easy pace. I read this book in one sitting, but felt there needed to more to the story because of the other characters involved.

I really enjoyed Nona Raines work. The writing was smooth, the sex hot and the ending satisfying. She will definitely go on my short list of go-to authors. This book does not disappoint.
