Jayne Rylon turned on the waterworks with this one. The characters, angst, and drama were perfectly blended to create an absolutely captivating story that brought me to tears more than once. Several issues combined to make this book more emotional. Roman was seriously damaged by an abusive past that left him coping by using drugs, alcohol, and sexual exploits. Now all that is failing, and it’s partly because he doesn’t want to share Carver. Thrown into the volatile mix is the fact that he is a very dominant man who needs to take control of his lover. Considering his past it causes some tension and a fair amount of guilt for him. It was in Swinger Style that the situation escalated to the point where Roman attempted suicide. Barracuda’s Heart begins with the aftermath of his breakdown and his road to recovery. Then there was the fact that Carver had his own issues and needs that may spell disaster for their relationship.

The thing that worked most for me in this story was the connection between Roman and Carver. The way this author wrote these characters, and especially the sex scenes, the chemistry was a palpable thing that I could almost feel. The sex scenes were so scorching hot that I was left blushing.

I’ve come to expect a certain kind of brilliance from this author and she really came through on this book. She created an entertaining and steamy story that touched on some intense subject material without having it overwhelm the romance part of the book. Now it must be said that the menage aspect is fairly light in this one. There are a few scenes, of course, but it’s simply not as predominant as it generally tends to be in this series. I have to say that it worked well for me in this one.

Just as I had expected, Barracuda’s Heart was a great read for me!

This is a pretty short story but I would have liked a little more detail. Some additional background on Victoria and Eric as well as ‘the guy’. Maybe even a look into the future. “A little more depth” might be the best way to explain what I needed. On the surface it’s a good, simple story. But it had potential for more. It’s a moment in time for this couple and as long as that’s all a reader expects, then it works.

Ms. West did a fabulous job of writing a story that, while believable, also made sure to satisfy this reader’s limits. Because My Anniversary is about fantasies that both of the main characters fulfill, with the help of a guy they meet while vacationing, the ending like a Happy Eve After.

I would recommend My Anniversary to readers enjoy short stories revolving mainly around a couple fulfilling their innermost sexual fantasies.

Dusty and Warren’s characters felt a little flat at times on the other hand. They both had their own personalities. Dusty being the loveable and naive guy you just can’t help but to love. Warren very militant and logical and holding things together usually. I just would have liked to have seen a bit more about these characters as they made each character so different. They were a modern day odd couple, and seeing more of that would have made the ménage relationship felt more genuine and long lasting for me.

Dracula proves to Dusty and Warren that not only are vampires real, but they have more control over mortals and even werewolves than you can imagine. It is kind of scary how easily Dracula is able to take control over Dusty and Warren. Really makes me wonder if it is possible. This antagonistic conflict is a large part of the story, as Dracula easily makes them bend to his will and proves he can use them as puppets in any way he sees fit. I liked this element to the story, but other elements in the story felt a bit to clichéd to me and made it felt a bit disingenuous.

This story features sex, sex and more sex. There is no shortage of erotica here, and I loved it. I did label it forced as Dracula does force the parties to do sexual acts when they are under his spell, but it is done in a way that is tasteful for the genre and definitely not too much for this girl. Though I did cringe at a few of the acts wondering if it was painful, the characters seemed to enjoy themselves so how could I not enjoy it with them? Weight issues are a core thing that can haunt a person’s self-image for years and the terror that she will go back to what she was before is enough to rock Brie’s world, even threatening the budding romance between Kade and herself. When he takes her to his family’s business- The Vault, she is awakened to a whole new reality. When Kade and Brie are threatened by someone who wants to exert her own brand of control all bets are off.

And I stop there lest I give away too much of the plot. This book is very hot, but I was thrown a little off by the opening scene. It didn’t end up detracting from the rest of the book, but I like to get to know a character before I’m walking through one of her orgasms. The book is an awakening for Brie and a personal growth for Kade who has never considered a woman for a long term relationship-until now.

You can find many secrets buried in The Vault series-and I can’t wait to explore the next one.

One small problem I had was that I kept confusing Druids and Dryads. I keep mixing the names, likely because they are so similar, but that was a problem others might not have.

I think I should mention one other aspect of this that surprised me a lot. Dryads have consorts or live tree partners who they actually have relationships with. It was shocking and it was very difficult for me to get the images out of my mind. With where I live, and where ever I go, I see trees so this story has kind of changed my perspective a lot.

This erotic story is unlike any I have read and I would recommend it to anyone who loves erotic with fantasy.

He comes off as a little naïve in the beginning and I love that. It’s always refreshing to find one of the characters is a little bit less experienced or worldly than the other. Watching him slowly give in to each of Cade’s requests is a treat in itself.

Cade Davenport is a gardener with a secret – he sometimes stars in adult films for his boss’ husband. He’s smooth, charming, and completely irresistible as far as Reece is concerned. I wasn’t sure I was going to like Cade much at first, it’s clear he’s leading Reece on, but for what reason you don’t quite know at first. Once you figure it out, it makes him a little less sketchy and more likable.

In part one of Caught on Camera, the scene is set. Reece is seduced and then scandalized by Cade. I was a bit surprised that Cade was so bold as to send Reece a video containing the steamy highlights of their afternoon tryst, but the more you get to know Cade, the less surprising it becomes. In part two, the fun really begins. During this second installment, you get to see Reece loosen up and begin to become more comfortable with himself and his newfound role as porn star. You can see an inkling of a real attraction blossoming between the two men and that only makes the sex hotter and the passion more intense. The third installment really ups the ante by flying the boys to Vegas before adding adult film star stud Bret Hadden into the mix. Part three contains one of the most erotic ménage scenes I’ve read in a long time.

These first three installments of Caught on Camera get steamier and more exotic with each new part. In addition, the relationship between Reece and Cade becomes more and more real with every interaction. Although the premise is a bit far-fetched, the writing is spot on and the desire between the two is palpable. I cannot wait for the final two parts of this series to see how it all comes together.

I was surprised very much when I started reading this book.  The world that was created was wonderful, though this story was missing most of the background information not just about Sylva but also about the fantasy world. However, that being said it would fulfill the erotic need of a reader. It was short and sexy, so the lack of complete world-building wasn’t missed that much.

The characters were interesting and curious. A nice interpretation of some of the classic characters.

I love the premise of this short story. How cool would it be to have a knight (or two) in shining armor rescue the girl from her crappy date and get a sizzler of a kiss to boot? I had to know how the kiss came about, how did the girl react, how did her date react and how did she and her heroes find their HEA? So many questions just from reading the blurb, I couldn’t wait to dive in.

Magdalena “Nena” makes for a very convincing damsel in distress. Seriously, the guy she’s with at the ballpark is a total dog and he treats like one as well. Fate, karma or destiny has them sitting next to long time partners Micah and Brody. These guys are ripe for meeting the girl who can make them complete. These guys are so hot together but when they put Nena in between them it’s off the charts.

There were a couple of issues that slowed me down in the story flow and only because it made me go backwards to be sure I hadn’t misread. Nothing crazy like name changes or time jumps but little inconsistencies in what is said in one place doesn’t match up when it’s repeated in another place. It didn’t kill the story for me but, as I said, slowed the pace because I noticed it. For me, the other issue was how over the top cave man-like Micah tends to be. I think the author could have pulled back just a bit on how his need for control and opposition to the “L” word. Having said that, there are enough hot scenes–the pool play comes to mind–and sweet chemistry between the characters to offset this. I wasn’t distracted for long.

This is a short story so the pace is pretty fast. I thought it was interesting how Brody and Micah reconnect with Nena and they don’t lose any time getting to know each other very, very well. Seriously, there is a lot of sex in not a whole lot of pages.

Brody and Micah were at an obvious stalemate in their relationship but I wanted them to work things out. They felt that adding a third, a female, would push things along and I guess it did get the action headed in the right direction.

This is a fairly quick read. It’s not a book readers are going to have to invest a lot of time or emotion to. It’s just a good quick, hot, hot, hot read. If that’s what a reader is looking for then, look no further. This one will satisfy just fine.
