Now all she has to do is to put her plan in place and make Lennox see what she already knows, and that is that they were created for one another.

Dark Callings is the third book in the Phoenix Intelligence Agency series, this book could be read as a stand alone, because the book will reference the other stories. However, to get the full enjoyment I would recommend you read the other books in the series.

I loved that the female characters in all three books were women who were strong and capable, maybe not as alpha male as their counterparts but still able to take care of themselves. The worst thing for this reader is when the female character is whiny and needy; Harmony in this book was nothing like that. She knew what she wanted and went after it, and it was nice to see that when needed the character could show her vulnerability.

Taige Crenshaw has a way of taking the reader into her world and surrounding you the reader with characters you want to care about. Lennox and Harmony along with her sister Allure and her mate Vaughn whose story is in Silken Inferno, gives the reader an inside look at the Phoenix Intelligence Agency and the many different beings associated with them.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Callings and would recommend this as a summer read. The story line was good because it not only showed the development of their romance but it had a villain who tried to separate the two. The heat between the characters once Lennox accepted his fate was worth the wait, and it was nice to see them finally get together.

Hopefully there will be other books in this series, after all Harmony and Allure has an aunt Storm who is another strong, alpha female.

This is both a continuation of the story of Sam and Bob’s love story and love story of Hartman Hunter and Danjal Naamah with the mystery of the disappearance of Hartman’s daughter and other paranormal children interwoven with their stories.

I liked the way this story picked up right after the first book and the way introduced some new and interesting paranormals. The way Sam and Bob’s stories evolved is handled beautifully and their relationship is definitely very steamy. I felt for Hartman and Danjal, they loved and lost each other several years before and their reunion is both beautiful and painful to watch. I rooted for them to fix what was broken between them and to fall in love again.

The continuing story arc of Sam fighting hard to be just human as it becomes increasingly obvious he’s more than purely human is something I look forward to watching develop in future books. I find myself wondering if future books will also focus on Sam and Bob and secondary characters at the same time, after all Sam and Bob have a few friends like their friend Malachi that I would love to see settled with happily ever afters of their own.

This is a gritty detective novel that is blended smoothly with a sexy M/M romance story with delicious magic adding just a touch of whimsy to the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this collaboration and I hope for more from these two authors together in the future. I recommend this to paranormal romance and detective story fans equally who love when men love each other and aren’t afraid to express it.

I liked Sam from the beginning; he was enthusiastic and super excited to be a detective and I was swept up in that excitement. I enjoyed watching him be drawn into the paranormal world despite his objections.

Then comes Bob, the vampire, whose name alone made me chuckle.  How can anyone named Bob be a big bad scary vampire?  Bob rents a room from Sam and their chemistry is off the charts.

This is a new spin on the world. The idea that humans and paranormals exist in the same world, yet live separately is very intriguing. It had that gritty feel of an old detective novel with some sexy scene thrown in.

There were some phrases that made it obvious this book was set in England that as an American it took me a few moments to figure out what they meant, but that is a plus to the story. The slang enriched the story.

This one features the sister of the first book’s heroine, and a trio of hot and sexy men.

Gypsy volunteered to become a vampire. After all, she was all about lots of hot fun and nightlife, and she couldn’t wait for the lust and hot sex with even hotter guys. But so far, she was alone, hungry and horny, and had no idea what being a vampire was all about. The two hotties she was lusting after, Todd and Allan, didn’t pick up on the flirting she was doing, and she couldn’t understand why every time she was near either of them, she heard the word ‘mate’ in her head. When she walks in on the two of them making love in the storeroom of the bar they all work at, she is more confused than ever. When her gorgeous human neighbor, Kendall comes by, catching her at her lowest point ever, he offers her his body and his blood. When she accepts his offer, once again the voice says he is her mate. But before these four can come to terms with the fact that all four are meant to be together, a menace from the past threatens to take their happiness before it can get started.

I like this world Ms. Zwaduk has built, filled with equal parts passion and danger, lust and bloodlust. Her characters are strong, well developed and likable, and I was drawn into this early on, wanting to see how these four resolved their issues, and how they handled the threat to their happiness that Tania poses.

Gypsy is a wonderful mix of sass and innocence, a new vampire who has no idea about what life should be like. I liked her determination to embrace her undead life, and sympathized with her loneliness and confusion. She needs someone, some vampire, to show her the ropes and let her know what is happening. She is confused, because she wants both Todd and Allan, and after catching them ‘in the act’, she is more turned on than she has ever been. When Kendall comes to her place, she want to be with him, but still wants Todd and Allan. I enjoyed the ‘will they all or won’t they’ aspect in this. I knew they would, but wanted to see if it would be more than a passing thing.

Todd and Allan have been mates for one hundred years, and love each other intensely. They are strong and loyal, and are surprised when both develop strong feelings for Gypsy, and hear the Goddess declare her their mate as well. I loved the way these two were so honest about their relationship, and I enjoyed their surprise as each admitted to wanting Gypsy in their bed and their lives. When Kendall enters the picture, once more getting the approval from the Goddess, these two are stunned, but willing to add him to their expanding family. The verbal and mental conversations are funny, charming and sassy in turn, and the strength of all four characters shines through.

When Ms. Zwaduk ventures into the bedrooms, the action heats up, and there are some delightful combinations of two, three and eventually all four get in on the action. There is danger in the person of Tania, who was Allan’s maker, and how these four deal with the threat shows their dedication to each other, and their desire to build a life, or rather, an undead life together. I think the exchange between Todd and Allan says it best, when Todd says ’Gypsy is our girl, and I can’t live without you.’ And Todd replies ‘I can’t be dead without you.’ I just love that exchange, and it shows the slightly warped sense of humor that Wendi Zwaduk sneaks into her books. This is the perfect novella to heat up an evening, when time is short and you need a hot and quick bit of vampire love.

Julia Lyle will have nothing to do with domineering men, no matter how tall, dark, and sexy. But Dom Marcus Cavendish will be satisfied with nothing less than collaring the fiercely independent Julia.

Nothing could have shocked her more…

Julia Lyle is invited to her best friend’s wedding and is stunned when Lana kneels to accept her husband’s collar. When Julia starts to object, firm, relentless hands land on her shoulders. The man behind her threatens to turn her over his knee if she interrupts. She’s outraged, but there’s no doubt he’s serious.

After the ceremony, he offers her a glimpse into her friend’s lifestyle, if she’s brave enough to accept.

Master Marcus Cavendish is everything she doesn’t want in a man—dominant, self-assured and arrogant. So why can’t she resist him?

Telling herself that learning about the lifestyle will make her a better friend, Julia agrees to submit to Master Marcus, but only for the evening. Firm and unrelenting in his handling of her, he introduces her to his tawse and the pleasure/pain of a spanking delivered by a competent Dom. The experience unnerves her, making her question everything she thought she knew about relationships, and his forced orgasms leave her shattered.

Marcus is undeterred. Julia is a natural sub. The way she responded to his touch, his voice, his punishment proved it. Now he has to convince her to yield to him, submitting to his tawse as she kneels to accept his collar.

Whatever I write, my review isn’t going to do Sierra Cartwright’s novel With this Collar justice. Well written and insanely hot, With this Collar, is the first book in the Mastered series (as a matter a fact if it didn’t say on the cover page that it was part of a series I never would have known) and kept me glued to the pages since page one.

The main character, Julia, is cast into the BDSM lifestyle when her best friend gets married to a Dom and like many people, she is filled with preconceived erroneous notions about what BDSM is. What I loved about Julia is that I could relate with her in a lot of ways. Her thoughts and internal dialogues feel real, as well as her search for “a nice guy” just because that’s the norm (and because her ex was a dominant ass).

The hero, Master Marcus is dreamy. He takes it upon himself to teach Julia how wrong she is about BDSM, and needless to say succeeds. Both sizzling and caring when he needs to be, he made me swoon and sigh along with Julia.

One of the things I liked best about this book was the way Cartwright had of explaining the BDSM lifestyle. Through Marcus and his “obsession” of talking through everything, the author not only walked Julia across different types of BDSM relationships, safe words, differences between subs and slaves but also myself as the reader. To boot, she managed to make all of that “talking” erotic and not dense or boring!

Beyond the BDSM, it is wonderful to see the romance that builds between the characters, as it does not differ in any way to any other romance. Like in any relationship, there are doubts and there is the fear to lose yourself in that love and that is clearly seen in the case of Julia. Furthermore, it is wonderful to watch the way the character’s evolve, especially Julia’s growth.

I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment in this Mastered series and will be rereading With This Collar while I wait, for it is a great scorching love story well worth reading at any time.

Wolves don’t usually play well with cats, but Grayson and Beth are the exception. Beth knows she can trust the wolf in man’s clothing, especially since he has come to help them. He seems to get along with everyone even though wolves are known for trying to become the alpha. Beth is rewarded with one of the most kind and compassionate men around vying for her attention.

The family connection in this story was evident from beginning to end and was a real driving force that kept me interested. I like that Beth and her family seem to look out for one another even if they did not know it. It is a type of kinship that many of us seek within our own families. It was clear to me that though they may not be perfect, everything they did was for one another. I also enjoyed Gray’s longing for such a family. It helped me to know that he many finally found home.

The relationship development between Beth and Grayson while continues seemed to fall a bit short for me. I would like to have seen a bit more wooing and reluctance on the part of the characters. I think a bit more build up between the wolf and cat compatibility or lack of it would have made the relationship that much more explosive in the end for me.

The antagonistic conflict within the story was a nice added feature. It had its start in a previous story, but I was still able to follow along easily as should anyone who is new to the series, or a veteran in the Were Chronicles world. This author does like to feature relationships that cover both straight, gay and anything in between, so while the main characters are m/f, they do have some gay supporting characters in case anyone is squeamish about these types of topics. It was a nice add in for me since I enjoy all types of relationships.

This is a series I have recommended in the past and will continue to do so because the author is great at producing high quality stories, just like Pack Community.

What won’t leave him alone is Garner Miller and the mutual attraction they have for one another. Fate keeps throwing them together, spectacularly, and the consequences are hotter than the fires Garner has to tackle in his day job as a fireman. Fireman! Oh, yeah, always a sign of a good book when there’s a fireman in the mix!

Both characters are very likeable in this nicely written m/m story. They have good exchanges, the dialogue snappy and realistic. I liked the humor that was laced throughout, Garner’s particularly when he suggests the cure for this Scottish curse stalking Chuck – “stand naked by the ocean in the moonlight drinking special tea.” – While I wasn’t sure if he was joking or not, the outcome was fun!

Ms York writes steamy male love in a way that pulls all the necessary emotions into the story, weaving a nice tale that makes you feel invested in the characters as soon as you get to know them. It’s good to see ups and downs and a resolution, even better to be a fly on the wall watching them celebrate that resolution – though I’m glad they opted not to indulge on the beach – oh, that sand would have chaffed!

If you enjoy m/m, like modern characters and a tale that won’t bog you down with doom and gloom and heavy issues, then Miami Sizzle is a story that stays true to it’s sizzling title and will let you escape into Chuck and Garner’s world for a little bit of fun. I’d read more from this author and would enjoy something longer. The voice is clear and concise and the plot flows effortless, taking a reader on an easy journey of romance and sex, leaving me, for sure, with a feeling that the two characters had a future together – always a great way to finish a book.

When Sinclair tries to take over all aspects of his life, Callum is forced to take a stand and explain to his bossy lover that, although protective instincts are good, obsession will get his ass kicked to the curb.

Callum may look sweet and innocent but he’s ready for anything Sin can dish out. Callum is a professional chef and extremely successful at work. His personal life, however, is another story. Relationships never seem to work out for Callum and he’s decided to stick to one night stands. Sinclair, an ex-mercenary, thought the same thing. Yet when these two meet, sparks fly instantly and neither man can get enough. When Callum’s number one fan comes stalking, Sin is there to stop him.

Tempting Sin is apparently a re-released story from Amber Kell. The original story was published three years ago and this edition has been re-edited with some added scenes. I didn’t read the original story but just so fans of the author know – this isn’t an original. That said it’s very similar to other Kell stories. The main characters are fun, light, and interesting enough but they’re not very three-dimensional. Sin is a big, badass ex-merc that immediately falls in love and takes over Callum’s life. His overprotective nature is a bit ridiculous but the story isn’t going for a realistic take on relationships. Likewise Callum is a magnificent chef with a heart of gold, adorable looks and deep vulnerability. He can take care of himself but doesn’t mind overbearing men in life, which is good because there are a lot.

The plot mostly consists of the two falling instantly in love with a side plot about Callum’s stalker. I’m not sure why this was added and frankly the story didn’t need it. The time and space would have been better spent developing the too-quick relationship between the main men. They fall in love, move in, declare their love, and talk marriage all within a few days. It’s lightning fast but then again I expect that kind of thing from Kell. There are a few too many cutesy affectionate names used and the sex isn’t as hot as Kell normally delivers. It’s not tame but there’s less of it than usual.

Fans of the author should know what to expect with this offering. I didn’t hate it but it’s not one of my favorites of Kell’s. The dialogue feels weaker and more sappy than usual, but the light, easy, fun feel of the story is still there. These are fun to read, never last long, and usually offer some great sex. It has a decent set up and some eye-catching characters and I’ll probably continue with the series as I like the characters well enough. Amber Kell’s books always feel like fun, popcorn reads to me and entertain despite any problems.

Kalina Erutan is an Amazonian Warrior working as an Assassination Agent for the Phoenix Intelligence Agency or PIA. Her main job is to go in and eliminate any problems, she is the best at her job and no one can come close to her except for one man.

Ryne Garon is known as ‘The Ghost’ who is legend among his former colleagues at the Phoenix Intelligence Agency. Only Kalina can come close to his skill which is tested when they are paired together to find and eliminate a threat.

Indigo Rain is the first book in the Phoenix Intelligence Agency series and it was by far one of the best stories to open the series with. The author, Taige Crenshaw, created a world that easily drew me into it and kept me prisoner until the very last page. I loved how the character of Kalina was no shrinking violet; she was strong and sure of her ability. Of course, she was Amazonian and that in itself screams strength and prowess. Ryne was a firebird and he was definitely an alpha male who challenged Kalina who was an alpha female. Their interaction was hot and exciting not just in the bed but outside of it as well. The humor and banter between the characters kept me waiting for more.

I also loved that the other female characters like Allure and her sister Harmony were also alphas, in fact all the female characters in this book were as kick ass as Kalina. These types of characters make for an enjoyable read because you as the reader never have a moment of boredom while immersed in their story. The other thing this reader enjoyed was the fact that Ryne would sit back and let Kalina take control, smiling as she handled any adversary she came up against, but always ready to step in at a moments notice if she was in need of help.

Taige Crenshaw created a paranormal world of Firebirds, Amazons, Seers, Vampires and Shadowers who all worked out of a building located on Wall Street in New York City, which I found amusing because she mixed fantasy with reality. Indigo Rain in my opinion is a must read and I look forward to book two in this series.
