Why else would Grace put up with his barbs about her appearance and his uninspired lovemaking? Enter Breece, an adoring alpha male who is out-of-this-world in bed. That is not surprising, for he is, after all, a ghost. Though Sage may not be anyone’s dream date, he is alive. Grace is falling in love with Breece, but is love enough? Even if fate allows her ghost lover to continue his delightful haunting, how will this couple find love everlasting?

Grace is a curvy, auburn haired, hot headed gal whose mouth has a tendency to run off her mouth with anyone except her partner. That part was extremely frustrating for me. I know her reasons for it but then I really didn’t understand it. I kept saying, “How much is too much?”

The story flowed well enough and kept me hooked. It was an interesting premise. Plus the chemistry, they’re in lust with each other and it shows in every scene. The sex scenes were hot and sizzling.

I loved how their relationship developed. The ghost, Breece is the complete opposite of Sage. It shows how that brings the changes in her life and in her. I was delightfully surprised how it ended. A perfect ending.

A ghost with an insatiable appetite for sex combined with a woman who desperately wants some sex. It’ll satisfy a readers craving for fantasy and sizzling chemistry.

Do you like your Christmas naughty or nice? Bring the season into your heart with love stories to match your mood. This boxed set from 10 of today’s hottest romance authors will warm your heart even on the coldest night.

These are 10 short stories that will tell you exactly what Christmas is about.

Dale Mayer ~ Broken Protocols

This is a different story than the others since Broken Protocols is set in the future. Dani and Charmin, her pet cat, were brought to the future by Milo. Milo is the younger brother of the man who becomes her husband, Lexi.

This was a very creative and well thought out story. The characters were different and very eclectic. Every character had their own personality. It was interesting to see how they came together to bring back Christmas.

The plot in itself was simple but the way it was written, it kept me interested and wanting to know what happens. This is a book of rekindling, finding and making new traditions. To celebrate Christmas again, what great joy!

H.D. Thomson ~ Shades of Holly

Second Chances… Everyone would love to have that second chance. Fate and Zach get a chance for their relationship but it comes with the possibility of Fate’s life being in danger.

Always loved second chances love stories. This one was special for me because it had Christmas/Holiday added to it. Shades of Holly also had a little bit of fantasy in it the emotions and the feelings that the characters had touched me and made it real. It was descriptive and touching.

A touch of intrigue mixed with Christmas, perfect for mystery lovers.

Chantel Rhondeau ~ Season For Love

Tess Riggs is the head nurse whereas Dr. Dash Brisson is the pediatric specialist. They didn’t get along. Misunderstandings made it difficult for them to get along with each other. However, a Christmas auction heats up their passion for each other. They try to work with each and understand each other. This story was realistic for me. The passion for each other and for the work they do shows throughout the story. It was interesting to read their interactions.

This is one story that sounded so real because both of the characters are hard workers who love what they do and want to see a change in other’s lives. How their relationship progressed and developed felt so realistic.

Leslie Lynch ~ Christmas Hope

Sam Bledsoe runs a landscape business that not only keeps a roof over his head but lets him work without curious eyes and questions. However, when a woman, Becca, faints while walking from his neighbor’s house, he comes to her rescue even though he wrestles with the memories of the accident that gave him a scarred face.

A bond forms between them. A bond, that can either help him recover or can set him off. This bond between them was very remarkable. Sam needed help to run his landscaping business. When he meets Becca, she somehow pushes him to take chances and make him see things that his scarred face has hidden.

Sandy Loyd ~ A Christmas Miracle

There is a india viagra limit to the number of votes a candidate can muster from urban areas. Megan Jenkins is a widow and a mother. She isn’t looking forward to Christmas since her husband died one year right after Christmas. But this Christmas, her and her son’s life is changed for the better with the help of a long time friend, Kevin.

This Christmas will be different for Megan and her son. Zach brings strength and happiness to them. Strength to take care of her problems. Zach was there for her and her son throughout. And that gave her hope. I loved that. Rekindled hope. The healing from the incident that took her husband’s life. I loved Zach’s character most of all. He understood everything and was willing to wait. That was sweet.

Barbara Lohr ~ The Salty Carmel Christmas

Rachel Morgan returns to Paris, her hometown, for Christmas break with failing grades, a school loan and a bad breakup. Instead of a break she gets bombarded with problems that could shake her small family. However, through it all Rachel finds a love in an unexpected family friend that helps her family and her through these difficult times.

I just loved it. Rachel is in that time of her life where she is trying to decide where her life and career will head to. She is headstrong and a perceptive girl with a love for family. She understands people and is kind to people.

The characters were very young without it being too clumsy and the story didn’t stray too far towards drama. That was a win-win for me. The characters were defined and understanding.

A sweet story with a recipe for salty caramels that is going to make you drool.

Marcia James ~ Heating Up the Holidays

Nicky Paxton, the heir to her father’s department store chain, is working as a Santa’s Helper when she meets her high school heart-breaker, Chris Spencer, who wishes to start his own practice in his hometown so that he and his daughter can stay near family. When his daughter asks for a “Fairy Pony Puppy” as a Christmas gift, he enlists Nicky to find out what is a “Fairy Pony Puppy”.

A very sweet and thoughtful story. I was a sad to see the story end. It ended too early. Everyone has their own dream. How far will you go fulfill yours? For me this story shows the importance of being with the person you love. Success and love can go hand in hand. Though it was a very good story I think there could have been more. The plot could have been more developed. It was too simple and short. The characters and the passion between Nicky and Chris kept this story alive.

Carolyn Hughey ~ Insanity Claus

Mallory Gardner, a widow is trying to keep her Christmas shop afloat when Arden J. Miller enters her shop and almost captures her heart. With two constantly quarrelling daughters and her own battered heart, her sanity is tested to the limit. I wanted to keep reading to see if the issues would be resolved enough for Mallory to concentrate on herself.

An engaging story with a plot that just stunned me for a second. It was a very moving story that brought tears to my eyes. It brought teenage angst together with mother’s love, frustration and hesitation. The combination of all of these was woven very well. The plot and the characters went hand in hand in satisfying me.

Tallulah Grace ~ A Family for Christmas (The Orphans of Richaven, Book #1)

Erin Matthews returns home after her father’s death intent on selling the house. However, she meets the family living next door and uncovers a truth that could change her life.

The plot was not that complicated. But the characters for me were the main interest. The characters pulled me in every time and engaged me in the story. I think the characters were the driving force for this story and that was ideal for this setting. The chemistry between Erin and her handsome neighbor, combined with the feel of family, moved the plot along at a great pace. Perfect!

This is a very touching and emotional story filled with characters that touched my heart.

Rachelle Ayala ~ A Father for Christmas

Kelly is a single mother who is trying to give her daughter, Bree, the best possible life she could after a scandal that leaves her an ex-convict. Bree wants a father for Christmas. When she sees Tyler, a homeless veteran, she thinks she has received her Christmas gift.

This story was totally different than any other short story in this anthology. It was descriptive and very deep. The plot had an unexpected turn that kept me on my toes. With the little girl added into this, it just made me smile. Of all the stories in the set, I think this one will really appeal to those who appreciate a good love story…It is a story about second chances, forgiveness and hope.

This boxed set of Christmas stories shows the different sides of life. Sappy love stories surrounded by family with a sprinkle of Christmas all over. Christmas is the season of love, family and togetherness. All of the stories are presented by very talented authors.

The clan is waking. After centuries of spellbound sleep, dragon-shifters are returning to the mountains. They are few in number, and the outside world has become overrun with humans.

Huroth, the dragon chieftain, recognizes a need for his kind to adapt, by forming alliances and mate-bonds with humans, but his clan is divided. From the first time she meets him, Lady Orwenna is drawn to the magnificent chieftain. The mind link he forms with her is both fascinating and frightening, as is the powerful attraction she feels for him. If only she knew what was in his heart.

Does he want her for the woman she is, or for her magical abilities? When war breaks out between kingdoms and ancient enemies of the dragons resurface, the clan will be tested. In the midst of uncertainty, can Huroth and Orwenna find their way together?

He wishes to Mate-bond with humans, but not everyone agrees with him. The clan becomes divided.

When Huroth went to form the alliance he met with the Lady Orwenna. There is a connection/mind-link between them which at first surprises them both. When two kingdoms clash, the help of the dragon warriors is called. Huroth meets Orwenna again and their bond strengthens. But the mind link scares Orwenna. Though both of them are very much attracted to each other, Orwenna has doubts; doubts that could make their life or break it.

Orwenna wants to experience adventure and be controlled by her own decisions not be used for gain as a tool. She is a kind hearted but strong willed woman.

When the story started, it didn’t say much about Orwenna’s age. There were some descriptions that I think was missing. Yes, there were hints to her age, but I would have loved to know how old she was when they first met. Seeing “7 Years Later” shocked and confused me a little. I knew she was young when they met. But didn’t realize it would take seven years for her to reach her adulthood.

I very much enjoy reading dragon stories every now and then. Reading Dragon Wife was a treat for me considering I finished it in one sitting. That doesn’t happen that much these days.

I would have loved to see more of Orwenna’s magical abilities for one thing but I didn’t miss it that much.

Huroth and Orwenna have a lot of passion and chemistry between them. The romance is very much satisfying. They work hard to be with each other and for that I have a lot of respect for them. They are not willing to give up without a fight.

Speaking of fighting, the battle scenes, I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading that. It was almost believable, except for the dragons and the magic.

Dragon Wife transferred me to a whole new world filled with dragons and magic. Of course it wouldn’t have been complete without the romance.

Memphis is a wolf shifter. During a trip into town for shopping he finds his mate, Tori in an argument with some of the members of the town about the need to protect the wild gray wolves. One thing leads to another and she has a gorgeous hunk for a protector and probably for more than that.

I loved the family and the how the relationship developed between both Tori and Memphis. Memphis wants to be together with Tori but not simply because she is his mate, he loves her.

This is the fourth book in this series and I think somehow I expected a bigger glimpse into Memphis’s family. The ending was wrapped up a little too hastily but otherwise for a short story, this was perfect. I enjoyed this short read a lot more than I initially thought I would. The romance and the passion between Memphis and Tori was what dominated the story at first but I was relieved to find it was not the only element to it.

Shapeshifters, love, romance and family – they are an ideal recipe to wind down with…It’s a good read and worth checking out.

I checked around and it appears that this is the second book in a series, the first being Her Ancient Hybrid. It seemed that Falling For A Hybrid had some missing elements or information I needed. I think if I had read the first book it might have filled in some of those blanks. My one regret is that this book finished too fast. It has the potential to be a great full-fledged series. His handsome brother has sworn to take care of her and she’s instantly attracted to him, but he seems indifferent toward her. What will happen to her and her sister?

Kage Johanssen, co-owner of a ranch in Idaho with his cousin Matt, is forced to take over his family’s Central Texas ranch on the death of his older brother. Kage is in no hurry to get married, and when his brother’s bride shows up, she’s everything he doesn’t want in a wife—except she’s stunningly beautiful. Despite his deathbed promise to his brother and his attraction to Ellie, he’s convinced she doesn’t have the grit to be a rancher’s wife.

When a greedy, sadistic villain attempts to take over the ranch and kill Kage, can Ellie save her true love? What will it take to prove that she’s the only woman for Kage?

Ellie Dickerson becomes a contract mail order bride to a Texas rancher. She agrees to marry to on one condition. Her sister gets to stay with them. However, upon arrival she finds out that her fiancé is dead.

Erik takes a promise from his younger brother Kage on his death bed, to marry his fiancé. A promise to a dying man is binding. Though Kage made the promise he is not willing to marry a city gal. Nonetheless he is willing to take care and make sure she and her sister have a home.

Kage wants a rancher wife. And is dead set that Ellie doesn’t have what it takes to become one.

Through it all, there is someone lurking eager to do anything, even kill to get what he wants.

Will their love conquer?

I was pretty surprised from the first chapter in how different the sisters were from each other. Ellie is a social butterfly. Much more comfortable interacting with other people in dinners and parties than being in the kitchen or cleaning. However, she gets no choice when her fiancé dies. The simple truth is, they can’t go back from where they came. She sets herself to become the kind of rancher wife that Kage wants. Ellie is very stubborn. She makes a drastic transformation to become and survive being on a ranch.

I loved reading how she changed herself. Learning different tasks. Trying again and again until she gets it right. This is a Historical western romance novel. I expected guns and animals and all aspects of ranch life. I got all of that and more. The writing set the scene put me in the story. It was not only romance, for me there were times that made me smile like a fool while other times I couldn’t contain the tears. There was a myriad of emotions to be felt while reading.

If a book can make you feel things then it’s a very good book. This is a very good book.

Mail Order Ruckus by Jacquie Rogers

Matt Johannsen, cousin to Kage returns to the ranch that they built together before Kage had to go back to take care of his Erik’s ranch.

Laura Dickerson, older sister to Ellie, is set on having Matt choose her for his bride; for that, she contracts to become a mail order bride in the same town where Matt lives.

Matt is hesitant to marry with his ranch taking all of the money that he makes. But he is put in a very tight place when he sees Laura with all the other brides. Laura is bound to get married, to him or someone else.

More, there is someone who wants to destroy Matt and his ranch.

Laura Dickerson met and fell in love with Matt. However, Matt is adamant. He will marry after one or two years after his ranch has gotten profit. Though this decision is taken out of his hands. I very much liked seeing how everyone came together and plotted behind his back so that Laura has every resource and advantage to get him married to her.

There was something about how the how the animals are depicted in these stories. It was terrifically funny. It really added a comic relief layer to the stories that kept them from being overly dramatic or serious.

It also portrays other mail order brides and their road to love. They find their love and it is entwined with Laura’s. I loved hearing the other bride’s stories. It is written in a way that the reader knows that Laura is the main character and the other brides are the secondary.

Perfect book to unwind at the end of the day and get lost.

However, the agents soon learn that someone with a personal vendetta against that company not only knows their secrets, but will expose them in a way that could result in the largest single-day attack against America.

A code exists that could endanger the lives of millions and put the whole nation in a panic…Death is there for whoever knows the code.

The Demeter Code is the third book in this series. This book begins CIA operatives Ridley Fox and Doctor Nita Parris, both have been sent to track down dangerous perpetrators/terrorists. This mission leads them on a chase around the world trying to uncover a web of conspiracy that has been weaved around a code. A code that is related to countless deaths around the country. Any knowledge about the code has them immediately put under a kill list. There was loads of tension and tense moments in this novel. It kept me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next.

This has a very complex plot. Lots of layers. I had to hold tight and read carefully to really understand what all was happening. Ridley Fox is an operative with some serious skills. Some of them being his undercover skills and his knowledge of various languages. Doctor Nita Parris, compared to Fox who is more a spy/undercover operative/soldier, she has a couple of doctorates and the added ability of being a weapons analyst and field agent. A very talented lot.

Parris and Fox are not only partners but also friends. This mission tests their friendship and puts them in peril and the potential loss of their career when they stretch themselves and their abilities to the absolute limit. It also tests Fox and his mental power to say the least. He has already been hurt once before. I became totally absorbed in the story to see if he would be able to stay professional or would he give in to his emotions.

The Demeter Code surprised me several times.

Espionage, politics, pandemic, action, adventure… all of the elements of an ultimate action thriller. Readers who enjoy a good nail biter with a healthy dose of heat should give this on a try.

Socially awkward Emma “Spider” Fisher prefers her laptop to people, so she’s more than happy to oblige her boss when he asks her to pet- and housesit while he honeymoons in London.

But it doesn’t take long for accident-prone Spider to lose a dog, get locked out of the house, and set off the house alarm!

“He thinks you’re an idiot for letting me in. He thinks I’m a thug. Oh wait. Scratch that. He thinks we’re both idiots.”

Emma Fisher or “Spider” as she likes to call herself is given the responsibility of pet-sitting by her boss, Zach, until he and his wife Hannah returns from their honeymoon. Working for her boss as the cyber security specialist allows her to work from home, and she is therefore the best candidate for pet and house sitting, I guess. Before long, she almost loses one of the dogs, gets locked out of the house, and finally meets the hot new neighbor who helps her get back in the house. This is just the beginning. Before long both of their lives gets entangled in a mystery that threatens their past, present and possible future together.

Emma is a beautiful but geeky woman who loves to play games. A confident woman, who develops her own personality a little late in life. She has worked hard to have her own personality, to be an independent working woman and that shows in the book. But during the beginning the book for me it felt like she had a crush on half of the guys she works with. I mean, I can understand, all of the guys she works with are hot guys. Still, it irked me a little because it felt like she couldn’t decide which one she had a crush on when in the rest of the novel it showed a totally different side of her, a confident know-what-she-wants woman. However, even with that it wasn’t difficult to get lost in this book. And I did get lost.

Noah West is the hot and sexy new neighbor. He is an insurance claims investigator who has retired but is doing one last job for a very insistent client who wants him to investigate Zach and Hannah. He meets Spider when she gets locked out of the house. From then on, their lives and problems get entwined with each other.

Noah and Emma are very much attracted to each other even from the beginning. It is fun to see the development of their relationship from neighbors, to lovers, to a couple.

One other thing I absolutely loved is the humor in it. The pets’ antics towards their pet-sitter had me laughing out loud, very, very loud, in the middle of the night to say the least.

This is the third book in The Psychic Detectives Series. I haven’t read the first two books of this series. I didn’t have any problem understanding what was happening. This book can work as a stand-alone but I would urge the readers to read from the start to better understand.

Haunted houses, Hilarious pets, romance, a mystery waiting to be solved. What more could I ask for?

Not because of the money that took to get her to recover but due to the fact that her agent ran away with her money. The truth about her father leads her to find the truth about her accident/attack.

Jenny was an exceptional professional tennis player with a tendency to distrust everyone around her and being very forward in what she said. She would say first and never think of the consequences. This results her in acquiring more enemies than friends.

So, when she was attacked it wasn’t a surprise that not many came to forward to help her through. Jenny is an extremely stubborn woman. When she wanted to search for her father and make him pay the financial support that she required to restart her career. She is a very goal oriented woman, but arrogant and very bitter. She had a reputation of being to just about anyone and this part of her showed through a lot. Almost to the point that I considered stopping reading the book but the mystery of what happened to her father made me keep moving forward.

Jenny has a lot of attitude problems but she also shows her soft side in some parts of this novel though it’s only a handful of times. In my opinion it is not enough.  With the advancing story Jenny starts to rebuild herself, though I don’t think even she realized this.

The mystery of her father changed her. Forgiveness, appreciation, love…. She learns the good side of things. She learns to trust people. And that was the highlight for me. When her father ran out on her mother and her she had erected walls around her heart. This is a very touching story but Jenny’s attitude almost hid this.

Charles Landale, a janitor who doesn’t remember his identity but knows that Howard Dancy is his friend, helps Jenny in finding her father.  The mystery of what happened to her father is very surprising and very well constructed.

Smile Again, Jenny Lee is a mystery that sent me reeling and wanting to come back for more.
