That is very refreshing. Their relationship at first is professional. No hint of any chemistry between them. Their relationship developed slowly. I absolutely loved that because it felt so realistic rather than the usual. I was better able to relate to the characters and story because of this.

The author has done a very good job of describing the scenery and location. I got transported to Sicily. It was like I was living the character. I was seeing everything described in this. This story is also very emotional and touching with everything that happens. The emotions that they feel are expressed beautifully.

Beneath a Sicilian Sun is a very tender and moving novelette, with heartache and love, forgiveness and pain, and family and children. A contemporary romance not only about the lead characters also about family. I give this book a good recommendation.

Thankfully, this can be read as a stand-alone book. I haven’t read the first two books but for me it doesn’t feel like this is the third book of the series. However, I do think I will be going back and reading the first two. This book is that good. The location of this story is in Hell. At least, that’s the impression I got from the detail in the writing. More specifically, the seven realms of Hell. This elevated the story. A brief history is given about what has happened and what is happening. The blend between both of this is very appropriate. The writing style is very good.

What I absolutely loved about both the characters is that they want to help each other and others. What stops them is the darkness in them. The bond between them heals it. Vail wants to protect her, make her happy. But the fact that she is a witch is not that easy for him to get past. Rosalind is a light witch but her powers have been used for dark purposes that put an additional barrier between them. What confused me a little while reading the book is…I couldn’t determine what was the main plot in this story. Is it the journey that both of them take or is it stopping fifth realm king or lord or whatever from using them or controlling them? The question gets answered completely by the end.

I loved how the relationship between both of them developed and how Rosalind tries to help Vail to recover his light. The little bits they give to each other. The tiny steps they take toward each other. It is believable because Vail has been tortured for a long time, in every way possible. There are torture scenes, too. So, this book is not for the faint hearted. Readers need to be prepared for that. I cried with them and laughed with them and smiled when they take a step towards each other. While it’s an intense and dark storyline, it’s not all about the battle scenes or torture scenes or romantic scenes.

An elf prince and a white witch with darkness in them. Epic battles and just the right amount of romance with a good dose of fantasy. Urban Fantasy at its finest.

He forms a bond with him/her. From there the journey leads them to finding love and the mystery of her life unfolds whilst bringing a torrent of pain and guilt that would take a lifetime to heal.

From the first page I was hooked. The writer knew how to spin the story to this reader’s liking. Still, there was a point when Anna gets settled on the ranch that the mystery of the book seemed to disappear or came to a standstill. The romance almost took over. There were a few places like that where the tempo would slow and just as I began thinking of maybe stopping the book something would actually happen. It was enough to keep me reading and wanting to know how Anna and Wade’s story would play out.

I loved the actions and personalities of all the characters. The intrigue into what happened to Anna added some heart stopping moments when things started unfolding. I don’t think readers will get bored because the characters and the romance between the two had just enough heart and heat. I liked that the author sprinkled in little bits and pieces of Anna’s past throughout the story rather than dumping it all in one place. It helped build the story and keep it going.

Mystery with romance. A heady combination.

The story woven by the author is fantastic. There is not only action but humor/comedy, romance and fantasy. All of these are intertwined with the characters and shows perfect harmony. I was lost in the book. Being that this is a historical book I was very skeptical at first because it seems that writers sometimes struggle to keep the dialogue and setting in its proper era. That means even the dresses, the houses, and villagers-everything-should be from that era. The descriptions were all I could have imagined. The author painted every scene in my mind so it was almost like I was watching it all happen right in front of my eyes.

The chemistry between Marek, the bounty hunter, and Brynn, the Royal, is sizzling and hot. The chemistry didn’t dwindle down with the development of the plot, it just matured, strengthened and burned brighter. Readers shouldn’t be disappointed with that in the least. The way the plot was developed, so intricate, I’d never have guessed that this is the writer’s first novel to be published. Everything fit and flowed seamlessly. From the smallest detail to the most exciting action sequence it made sense and surprised me at the end. I never thought that the story could go like this. I believe readers will be surprised but very happy with the results of it.

Sizzling romance, action and fantasy steeped in history, anyone who believes love conquers all will love this novel.

Andrea’s past is important and a vital point not only in the story but also for Andrea and Wick’s relationship. In Shift Happens the author reveals her story right before the climax (ending). It wasn’t a total information dump since bits and pieces of her past is shared throughout the whole story but it is somewhat of a ‘big reveal’. It worked well and kept this reader interested throughout the novel.

The characters in the story are well developed. Really, the story as a whole is very good. There’s romance but it doesn’t overpower the story like in some books. I would read the second in this series just to know what happens.

Readers interested in Urban Fantasy where the plot is more than overwhelming romance will like this one. Though, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves urban fantasy/paranormal and romance.

A classic mystery where the past is bent on revenge!

I think there are some who would say that the classic mystery would be where the male lead would be the handsome guy who would save the day at the end of the novel (with a Happily Ever After). I’d agree with those people too. However, classic mystery I think varies between different people’s opinion.

Here’s the general idea of this story. The male lead is an injured lawyer who have been running or trying to come to terms with his life after an injury. He drifts from town to town doing odd jobs for people. So when another odd job lands him with a beautiful woman and her daughter, they connect. All the old wounds start healing. Relationships are forged and strengthened. In the end it was surprising that justice was served but the road to find it wasn’t easy for them.

When I started reading this book it was simple. It caught my eye and kept me interested throughout to the end of the book. But what I disliked most of all was how fast everything was moving in the beginning. I like fast-paced books but this was smoking. It took me some time to wrap my head around it. I kept going back every couple of pages to make sure I didn’t misread or skip a page.

That said, the book also gives insight on how grief works and affects the whole family. The author did not let me get bored. Something was always happening. Questions kept rising in my head while reading, to answer it I had to read the coming pages. By the time those questions are answered I had a new set of questions at the ready. And then–Ta-da–I had finished the book.

This is a perfect book for readers looking for injured hero and heroines and how they help each other learn to live again.
