While on the run from a violent ex-boyfriend, Brooke finds herself being looked after by Travis and Kent, two gorgeous bi-sexual cowboys. While every instinct she has tells her to keep running, the pull that these men have on her is so strong that she hesitates…and gives in. For now.

Travis Beaumont and Kent Freeman enjoy a loving relationship on Moone Mountain. But when Travis rescues the beautiful young Brooke Adams, both men end up falling for her. They’ve almost given up on their dream of adding a submissive girl to their “family” to make a ménage relationship. However, she refuses to tell them much about herself, although her nightmares and scars are a sure indication that the girl’s in big trouble.

When Brooke’s ex catches up with her, he’s intent on wreaking revenge. Can the love of her two cowboys give her the strength necessary to overcome his torment? And can the skill and courage of the two men lead them to save her before it is too late?

Kent and Travis are certainly a dynamic duo of sex, strength and confidence. These two together would be the undoing of any female’s will. Brooke does not stand a chance against their charm, yet he seems to hold her own and stick to her guns when it comes to them, as she refuses to put herself into another deadly situation.

Kent and Travis really are everything I would want in men. They are have great values and seem to just be all around good guys. Granted, Kent can push a bit too hard at times, but that is why he has Travis to help balance him out. They are only missing the submissive female of their dreams, and I so wish I was in Brooke’s shoes to be that girl to help complete their ménage.

Brooke is someone who you immediately want to protect and would be willing to fight besides. It is clear to me that she has had a rough past, but it did not break her the way it would many people. She still has inner strength and fight left in her. Enough that she ran to try to change things, shame she doesn’t think she can trust anyone, as the people around her truly want to help. They did not blame her for that and either could I. I just wanted her to realize that what she needed was right in front of her, as long as she had the courage to take it.

The plot of the story was amazing. With BDSM erotica I have read a few stories about a so called Dominant who is really a control freak looking to destroy what they see as a weaker person. I am glad Brooke did not let this happen to her, and I think it also helps teach people as well as prove to be entertaining. The dynamic definitely keep me interested from beginning to end, especially with the various twist and turns the story takes at times. I would definitely recommend you read it, and would certainly read it again myself.

In the woods, no one can hear you sneeze…

Daisy Janney–college student and assistant mortician–can’t wait to get out to the country to attend a music festival for spring break. Her favorite band Shizknit will be there. But so will the bugs. And the bathrooms at their campsite are just…wow. Then there’s the secret war being waged by the wizards of the council and a mysterious group of creatures that look a whole lot like bigfoots (bigfeet?). Whatever they are, they seem to know something about Daisy that she doesn’t, and they aren’t telling. Now she’s got to save an entire race of mythical—scratch that, very real but kind of smelly—creatures from the clutches of the deranged (and equally smelly) leader of the council, Caroline. If she plays her cards right, Janie might be able to stay alive…and she might even get to spend what’s left of spring break getting to know the bass player for Shizknit a little better…

This is because studies have shown that bodily or psychological and certainly affects one’s self order generic cialis esteem. If a bigfoot walks in the woods and no one hears it, is it really there?

In this third book in the Necro Files series, we find Daisy out camping with her friend from college. Hanging out in the woods, she meets an ensemble of pot heads, band members and a herd of bigfoots. Dark dealings are at hand when she discovers a strange disk shaped object and witnesses a battle in a field. After that, all signs of a normal camping trip/ concert venue are pretty much toast. What do you do when you witness a hidden species and have to communicate by thought? Think carefully and dodge flying spells from renegade Council members who are up to no good.

Unlike the first two books, I was not pulled into the story right away. The historical beginning was a little interesting but strange, given the tone of the first two books. Also, the camping trip threw me and I struggled with getting into where the book was going. From the history I got where the bigfoot thing was going and once they appeared and the action got moving it was fine. Daisy rocked it and so did Nathan, the hunky spell binding hero. The romantic sparks between the band member and Daisy were lukewarm.

One of the funnier things were the names of the bigfoots and how they communicated by thought. Slips in Shit and Deer Humper. I think I snorted jello through my nose during my break at work when I read that the first time. Good one. It stands to reason the bigfoots would communicate differently than we would and how that effects a human if they touched one. Very good.

Overall I enjoyed the story after I got past the first bit and into the action. A great series, this is one I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the Southern Vampire series from Charlaine Harris, The Hollows series by Kim Harrison or even the Anita Blake books. Urban fantasy meets a funeral home with some unusual goings on, these books are great and have interesting story lines.

For a story to keep you reading long into the night give this one a try.

Honor. Trust. Exile. Will love overcome the lies?

Raised in lies and isolation, denied all knowledge of his family, Aidan awakens one day to find the manor in a state of excitement. Two foreign generals have come for him. They claim he is their long lost prince, the sole survivor of a rebellion that killed the royal family and usurped the throne of Ceratas. And he, Aidan Telan Ameris, is being escorted home to be crowned king.

SO, for the perfect solution of the problem is clearly uppermost on many a tadalafil overnight delivery http://downtownsault.org/thefoundary/ teenager’s mind.At Middle age:Common causes in this age group are facing these problems. The economy of cialis canada online the nation is supported by communication, so in today’s era, government emphasis on telecommunication development in every nation. In time of making an order for cheap tadalafil 20mg , you have to log in to the site and fill up a form of personal details just like name and address of the recipient and the age with the details of the patient. Also, generic no prescription viagra by simply changing a faucet and getting newer, prettier one the entire bathroom can look like brand new. Naive and submissive he might be, but stupid Aidan is not. Political machinations are something he has never been exposed to, but everything about his upbringing suddenly makes sense. The long hours studying books of history, the training with pistols and swords… He’d been groomed for this moment since his earliest memories. But he knows without a doubt that he’s no prince. He’s nothing but a pawn in a game he can’t possibly understand.

When their carriage is attacked en route to Ceratas, Aiden is taken prisoner by the leader of the rebel forces. General Torin Amaldis Greyan can’t help but feel for the poor young man, even if he is the enemy. And soon the heat between them grows to something neither can ignore, something that burns much hotter than warfare.

But nothing is simple in the struggle for Ceratas. There are those who wish to use Aidan to destroy both Torin and his country. When both of them are captured, used against each other to break their wills, Aidan and Torin must find the strength to trust each other in a way neither finds easy, if they’re to save each other—and their country…

Aidan has been in isolation as a tool to be used. He knows the manipulators that call themselves his generals and followers are really using him as a pawn to gain control and power. He may be naïve but he’s determined to be used on his own terms. If he can’t stop the men from trying to take control of the kingdom, then he’ll align with the rebels and help their cause. Although he’s ignorant of the consequences and risks of the high stakes power game being fought, he’s determined to help the righteous. That leads him to General Torin, who has mixed feelings about Aidan. Together the two team up in unexpected ways to try to restore the rightful king to the throne.

Ice Prince is kind of a mixed bag of a story. On the one hand, the writing is clean and crisp with good descriptions and well developed characters. On the other, the plot is convoluted and twisted yet has simplistic, familiar roots. Outsiders want to gain control of the kingdom’s throne and are willing to do anything to make that happen while well meaning military men and countrymen band together to fight corruption. Aidan is stuck in the middle, distrusted initially by both sides. I found the story often took the easy way of created conflict – a convenient hidden tunnel, sudden lust previously not displayed, an easy end to a long standing relationship, resolution occurring off page – which decreased both my enjoyment and my engagement with the book. When it was obvious there wasn’t a lot at stake, really, then the story loses the tension and gravity. There was no real question of the couple working out or Aidan being killed.

Additionally the story warns of dubious consent but this isn’t true at all. There’s a scene where someone almost rapes Aidan, barely, but it happens so fast that I blinked and almost missed it. I actually had to go back and think where that warning came from. Additionally, I did not find any intense emotional elements in the story either so I find both warnings to be unnecessary. The story is fine but it doesn’t build those intense emotions like it wants to. Instead it’s more of a familiar corruption versus good political fantasy story with some hot sex between partners that are thrown together by circumstance and later by love. I usually like JC Owens books but was a bit disappointed with this one. It has the clarity of her writing and decent characterization but the pace can be uneven and the plot contains easy outs.

I think fans of the author may be more inclined to forgive any problems in the face of her familiar writing and admittedly hot sex scenes. Plus Aidan is a good character. He’s sympathetic, intelligent, strong, courageous and just a hint submissive at first though he grows out of that quickly. He’s likable and likely to engage readers through his perspective. I struggled with all the other aspects I outlined, but I’m not sorry I read it.

The remarkable short works collected in Dirty Laundry explore the unraveling of lives at their most intimate moments, the uncomfortable starkness of truth, the unmasking of lies. Whether a cop on the make, a seminary student, or a college kid trying to stay pure, nobody avoids the soil of circumstance. Some try to hide from themselves, others embrace who they truly are. But nobody gets away clean.

Everyone struggles with something. The most interesting thing about this is not that it happens but that almost all of us do it so quietly.

“Pro-Creation” shadowed a police officer named Dana on patrol in a dangerous neighborhood. There has been a lot of upheaval in her personal life, and she’s struggling to figure out how to keep it from interfering with her work. The character development in this tale was strong, especially after Dana moves in to apprehend the suspects she was pursuing. I was even more impressed with how smoothly the ending tied everything together.

Many of the stories in this collection had endings that I had trouble understanding. It was never quite clear to me if they were meant to be ambiguous or if there were clues about the characters embedded in earlier scenes that I’d failed to pick up on. “Terminal Virginity” was a good example of this. The plot followed a college student named Rodney Taylor as he attempts to avoid being dunked in a local lake by his fraternity brothers. This is their tradition for every member on his birthday, but Rodney wants nothing to do with it. I was mystified by a certain topic that kept coming up with his buddies as the main character attempted to avoid a cold, soggy fate. The hints about what was really going on in his life could have supported two different conclusions, yet I was never sure which one was supposed to be true.

The most surprising part of “Cooling Down” was how much information the author was able to pack into it about the narrator and his friend, Ethan. It begins in the middle of an early morning jogging session. Both Ethan and the narrator are so focused on improving their physical fitness that the conversation they suddenly find themselves in the middle of is a shock. The storyline was short and simple, but what the plot does with such an ordinary sequence of events made me wish for a sequel.

I’d recommend Dirty Laundry: An Assortment of Messy Lives to anyone in the mood for something eclectic.

Chelsea has been dumped by the first and only boyfriend she had. At the beginning, I thought her to be a very naïve woman but the ending proved me wrong. The characters need to be a little bit more polished but the story was very engaging. The plot is simple and the author doesn’t overcomplicate it with filler.

There was some background information about the character but I felt that most of this was presented towards the end. However, the ending was pretty simple and satisfying.

I think Miss Houston did a perfect job of portraying the emotions and the plot of this story. I was right there with Chelsea every step of the way.

As if that isn’t enough she’s raising two teenage daughters to follow in her footsteps, juggling her crazy family, and avoiding the attentions of an amorous werewolf, Jake Mills, the chief police.
Jake has been chasing her for years. At times he’s bossy and possessive, but he’s just as often charming and teasing. And he’s definitely easy on the eyes. She has no idea what to do about him. He’s refusing to stay in the friend zone she’s placed him in for years. As he works his way more firmly into her life, her ability to resist him weakens.

Fight evil with evil? Or hope that combing the powers of the witches and demons in town will be enough to defeat him? Failure is not an option.

When an unknown evil stalks Scarlet’s hometown can she find the source before it’s too late?

Scarlet is a Guardian. A witch in a small town in Alabama, she takes no crap from anyone and that includes the very sexy sheriff, Jake. Unlucky in love and trying to keep up with two teenage daughters as well as rid the town of all manner of paranormal pests, Scarlet has her hands full.

When her ex-husband is found dead in a ritualistic style killing and an unknown evil is discovered lurking in the primeval forest nearby, Scarlet and her family have a huge undertaking ahead. With strangers arriving in town and more supernatural hijinks unfolding, she will have her hands full. Jake (prepare for shifter crack) is content to let her investigate her own way but when things get out of hand, he’s ready to let a bit of fur fly.

The characters in this book are sassy and full of Southern charm. Her daughters are just delightful and I would never, ever want to cross Scarlet’s mama. No way. Romantic tension rose with every page and when Scarlet and Jake hit the sheets it was an inferno. I did get the feeling this was more urban fantasy than straight out romance but the sparks were sure nice when they flew. Spicy but sweet, this story is sure to please readers who love Kim Harrison and Charlaine Harris.

The only two issues I had with the book were head hopping and the feeling I had missed a first book in a series somewhere. It was a bit confusing in several points in the book but I was too busy trying to find out what was going to happen to be too concerned about it in the end. Overall, I enjoyed the read and look forward to trying other books in this author’s repertoire. The politics were interesting and the hunt for the supernatural baddy was fun. I can’t resist an author who loves to create smart aleck characters and write about sexy werewolves.

Seth Lormarc is in New Orleans to find out who was behind the portal breach, and his best lead is the intriguing Kam Ryndel. When he stakes out her apartment and finds her sneaking out in the middle of the night, dressed in black and leaping to the top of the nearest building, he knows there’s something unique about the beautiful elf. That kind of feat requires magic. Ancient magic.

As their paths cross during their investigations, they develop an irresistible attraction, although there’s little time for romance. The portal breach is tied to an illegal smuggling operation that has come to the attention of the human CIA. But the stakes are raised when Kam and Seth discover a band of conspirators and a rebellion deep in Elvenrude that promises nothing except destruction of their world.

Kam is prepared to do anything to protect Elvenrude, but can she protect her own heart?

Kam has all the traits of a likable heroine. She is smart, strong, caring, and loyal. Her devotion to Elvenrude is absolute and she’s willing to break a few rules in order to protect her home and the people she loves. However, I found it interesting that she is not willing to take the same risks in regard to her heart. Even though her attraction to Seth is clear to everyone around them, Kam stubbornly refuses to acknowledge her own feelings. I did appreciate Seth and Kam’s antagonistic banter, but at a certain point, I just wanted her to be honest about her feelings.

Whether Kam wants to admit it or not, Seth is a good match for her. He’s every bit as smart and strong as she is, and he’s willing to let her have the freedom she craves regarding her career. I must give Seth credit for his patience with Kam. He never pressures her, but he wasn’t shy about letting her know how he felt. I found his direct manner refreshing, and it was easy to hope that he and Kam would find a way to be together.

Elvenrude sounds like a beautiful place secluded from the noise and pollution of the human world. I could clearly picture the tree houses and the natural beauty of the land. I found the elves obsession with human gadgets amusing. Things like coffee, bikes, and electronics are commonplace in the human world, but are novelties for the elves. It was interesting to watch the elves try to maintain a balance between their world and the human world and see what they deemed acceptable and what they thought had the potential to corrupt.

I do think the ending was a little odd. After so much build up concerning who was behind the portal disturbances, I think the reveal of the mastermind was rushed and a bit anticlimactic. I also wanted more explanation concerning this character’s motivations. Despite this issue, I still found it satisfying to see the villain brought to justice.

Overall, I think Cross Keys is a good book. Kam and Seth make a good team, and I enjoyed watching them work together to solve the mystery. I recommend Cross Keys to anyone who likes fantasy with a modern twist.

Sometimes you have to tear everything down and start over…

Private security specialist Samantha Jane Carson gets the surprise of her life when she arrives at Blake Enterprises for the annual security audit. Instead of her usual contact, she’s greeted by the company president himself, the sexy and elusive J.J. Blake. It’s her job to know everything about the Blake family, and J.J.’s recent divorce is the talk of the town. Women are lined up to become the next Mrs. Blake, and who wouldn’t want to be? J.J.’s gorgeous, rich, and has stormy green eyes that hold women captive.

J.J. Blake is making some major changes in his life. Freshly divorced from ex-wife Eden, he’s building a new house, coming to terms with the injury that ended his NFL career, and is ready to start fresh—without romance complicating things. His friends and family encourage him to get back into the dating pool, but he’d rather not be sucked into those rough waters again. Work is the obvious diversion, and he opts to handle the security audit himself for some good old-fashioned guy/tech work. But when Sam Carson walks into his office, J.J.’s brought up short. The “Sam” he was expecting turns out to be Samantha—beautiful, smart, and a tough-as-nails ex-cop in a polished, professional package. And she’s just the kind of woman who could drag him under…

You find love when you least expect it.

The Perfect Storm was an enjoyable read that left me with a happy feeling.

Sometimes a reader wants to read a book that will take them to a happy place. No mystery to solve, no suspense leading the reader to a degree of anxiety; just a satisfying read with a happy ending.

The character were likable and it was enjoyable to read their story. Recently divorced J.J. Blake has plans to carry on with his life, but as a man that many women seek of course he has several dates lined up. Those dates don’t go quite to his liking but that doesn’t bother J.J. because his eyes have found the woman that he is looking for. J.J. is running the family business and it’s time for the company’s security audit. This will be J.J.’s first time handling the company’s audit, but he didn’t expect “Sam” to be an attractive Samantha Jane Carson. Sam has an impressive resume but it doesn’t equip her to handle the likes of Mr. J.J. Blake.

I enjoyed how the author took her time building the chemistry between Sam and J.J. As a reader it made the book so much enjoyable to not rush this stage of the relationship. Their connection is believable and even more romantic with the slow heighten to the sex part. Their sex was no wham-bam thank-you ma’am, but more along the lines of gathering all the ingredients to a recipe and the finished product is something enjoyable for all.

The way Sam describes J.J. a reader can’t help but adore the attraction between the two, and encourage their relationship. Two broken people deserve to find happiness in life. There was something about the time spent between Sam and J.J. getting to know each other personally, more than a physical attraction that made this book stand out to me.

The Blakes could be a model family of perfection. The members of the family, and there are a lot of them, are talented, rich, funny and most importantly they all get along. It is so charming to read about a family that supports each other, that encourage each other, and they get along and don’t purposely cause harm to each other. But of course nothing can be all the way perfect. J.J.’s ex-wife tries to bring about drama.

The plot was one I enjoyed. The author’s writing is a smooth style that is easy to read. There were a few typos, however they didn’t disrupt the flow of the story.

This is a book that I would highly recommend to readers that enjoy happy endings for characters deserving to find their way to love.

She has worked hard to maintain her current weight, but can’t shake the scars of the past. When she runs into him at the reunion and he asks her out, she acts like she doesn’t remember him.

Kade recalls the one girl who was honest and true to him in high school and is excited to see her at the reunion. When she won’t admit to remembering him, he asks her out on a date, determined to find out more about this new and sexy version of Brie.

Jamie is Brie’s best friend. Gorgeous and studly, he has no romantic inclinations toward her but bristles as things evolve between Brie and Kade-especially when she reveals that their second date is not just at a restaurant, but the Vault, the new adult club in town. It seems that Jamie just might have some secrets of his own.

This story has some twists and turns, but my favorite aspect is Brie learning to love her body. Kade insists she see in the mirror what he does and that can be a difficult thing. Weight issues are a core thing that can haunt a person’s self-image for years and the terror that she will go back to what she was before is enough to rock Brie’s world, even threatening the budding romance between Kade and herself. When he takes her to his family’s business- The Vault, she is awakened to a whole new reality. When Kade and Brie are threatened by someone who wants to exert her own brand of control all bets are off.

And I stop there lest I give away too much of the plot. This book is very hot, but I was thrown a little off by the opening scene. It didn’t end up detracting from the rest of the book, but I like to get to know a character before I’m walking through one of her orgasms. The book is an awakening for Brie and a personal growth for Kade who has never considered a woman for a long term relationship-until now.

You can find many secrets buried in The Vault series-and I can’t wait to explore the next one.

What happens to love, when trust is betrayed?

This book proves that you don’t need to know every little secret about a person to fall for them…

Lily Valier is a woman who lives life in in simplicity. She has a small business and keeps to herself – until her sister Sara is murdered and Lily finds herself on the top of the suspect list and is now the talk of the town. Lily, as a character, was very easy to admire. She never showed her fear to those who talked about her behind her back and those who believed the lies surrounding her sisters murder.

P.I Aiden O’Rourke is brought in from Chicago to help the investigation with one goal – to sweet talk Lily into spilling her secrets. After all, that was what the police told him, that she was guilty. The depth in Aiden’s storyline was brilliant. As new information surfaced thought the story I found myself stuck in a love/hate relationship with him. I loved how I couldn’t tell if he was a good cop or a bad cop, I just couldn’t put the book down until I figured him out.

I hooked on to this story from the very first page. Ms Bannon wasted no time in getting straight into the plot. This fast-past novel left me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The writing style of jumping between Aiden and Lily’s point of view was fantastic and has to be one of my favourite writing techniques. The plot twists in this novel were so incredible and I found myself bitting my nails – anxious to see what happens next.

I recommend Nowhere to Run to the mystery readers out there as it proved itself to be a very interesting read and one I really enjoyed.
