High school teacher Grace Thompson didn’t want to be a mentor. And she sure as hell didn’t want to mentor Levi Mondez.

They got off to a rocky start, but it wasn’t entirely her fault. How was she to know he was the lead singer of local rock band, Mondez? How was she to know he considered her short temper a turn on? And how was she to know her best friend, Riley, would fall for him?

If he wasn’t so damn gorgeous it might have made the whole mess easier to handle. If he didn’t transform Grace into a blazing furnace of need, and if he hadn’t confused the hell out of her already bruised heart, life might have turned out a heck of a lot differently. She was screwed.

Lee Piper has done it again. Once I started reading Rock My World, I couldn’t put it down and binge read the whole novel. Once more, I finished with a deep sense of satisfaction and my own heart beating triple its rate. And that’s because, again, I fell in love, but this time with Levi Mondez.

The story is told from Grace’s point of view in the first person and everything she felt and saw, I did with her. It was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The only thing I didn’t like was the amount of alcohol she drank, which at times seemed excessive and worrisome.

The writing was flawless and Piper masters the art of building the romance and the heat between Levi and Grace. Furthermore, though the characters fall in love fast their connection felt plausible and real.

All in all, this is a must read and I’ll be desperately waiting for the rest of the series to come out!

Twenty-two year old Riley Sears promises herself never to fall in love unless it’s with a guy who is long-term boyfriend material. She’s not crazy, her psychologist reassures her of that, but when faced with situations she cannot control, well, her anxiety skyrockets.

Enter Dominic Mondez, the hottest creature ever to grace pecs and abs. The notorious playboy propositions Riley with the best sex of her life—his words. However, after learning he never sleeps with the same woman twice, Riley’s decision becomes remarkably simple.

Sadly, traversing the murky waters of friends without benefits is far from simple, especially since Dominic is the lead guitarist of local rock band, Mondez. He is also tempestuous, a womanizer, and—even worse—inexplicably jealous. Dominic is bad for Riley in every possible way. Bad, bad, bad.

If only her body would listen.

Rock my body (A Mendez novel) by Lee Piper is a must read. It’s as easy as that. I finished the book last night after two days of binge reading and I’m in love. First with Dominic, then with Riley and with everything that has to do with this book.

Granted, I’m not a fan of first person point of view, but Lee Piper surprised me. She has mastered the art and I was drawn into the book and into Riley’s character from page one. I immediately connected with her. Her anguish, happiness, love, lust, I could feel all of it in my own bones.

The chemistry between the characters is insane and Ms. Piper knows how to draw it out. To say I squirmed a few times is an understatement.

But there is more. Though there is obviously a strong sexual connection between the characters, we see so much more. They are characters with flaws, good things and bad, tragic stories, which made my heart ache.

This is the kind of book that once finished made me crave for more. I’ll be reading Levi’s story next (although apparently I should have done that first) and can’t wait for the rest of the series to be released.

The more she tries to resist him, the deeper she falls in love. One thing she is sure of, she’s helpless to resist the dominant man’s determination to have her.

From page one, I was captivated by Sierra Cartwright’s Enticement.

On the one hand, we have the heroine, Ella. I easily sympathized with her. She didn’t do one night stands or casual flings. She was looking for a good guy, someone she could marry and settle down with. Fortunately, she meets Pierce, who makes her see that good guys come in all sorts of different packages.

Ah, Pierce. He had me from the moment he appeared in the story. He’s hot, sexy, with an edge that speaks of dangers and mysteries untold. He’s confident in his skin and he’s a Dom. He takes charge of situations without bullying his way in and he displays both tender and lighthearted moments. I was hooked.

Together the pair make a sizzling combination. They banter, they share emotional journeys and they have scorching sex. As always when it comes to BDSM sex scenes, Ms. Sierra Cartwright is the master. They were well written, realistic (for instance, when Ella gets a caning tears come to her eyes), drawing me into the situation, the excitement.

Finally, I was extremely pleased with the ending of the story. I never would have guessed it to go in that direction.

Enticement was a scorching, romantic read, which I’m definitely adding to my Sierra Cartwright collection of must reads.

Should she walk away and lose Luke forever? Or have the threesome and risk getting emotionally hurt? Exactly how far is she willing to go for a book?

One Sex Scene Too Far by Larissa Vine was a sweet, short, erotic romance.

The author hooked me from page one with Robin, a curvy heroine addicted to romance novels and prone to daydreaming. I felt identified with her and eagerly stepped into her shoes.

I enjoyed the hero too. Luke was, of course, very good looking, but sensitive and a famous author to boot. To make matters even better, he was attempting to write a romance novel, Swoon.

Although the excuse for them to get together was a bit farfetched, it worked. Eagerly, I read on to see how Robin would help Luke in role-playing those sex scenes. The author didn’t disappoint and they were well written and hot.
Sadly, things took a turn for the worse a little more than half-way through the book. It felt as if the author had lost the desire to delve deeper and things turned rushed. The connection between the characters was there but it was purely physical. Robin kept telling herself not to fall for Luke, but honestly, I couldn’t see when she had. All I saw between them was scorching sex and a mutual admiration.

Furthermore, the big climax, that moment when Luke tells Robin he wants to do a threesome, did not translate well to me as a reader. Luke tells her: “There’s nothing that you can help me with.”, and from that line, Robin understands the exact opposite. I didn’t and was really confused by the whole thing.

Regardless of this, I believe her reaction was way over the top. She hardly let Luke explain and went to find solace in the arms of someone she knew little about. On the other hand, I feel like Luke acted out of character when it was revealed why he walked away from pursuing Robin.

Nonetheless, I did find the ending to the story sweet, and the way of apology incredibly romantic.  If you’re looking for something sweet, entertaining and easy to read, I’d recommend One Sex Scene Too Far.

He alternately thrills and terrifies Alani. Even though she craves the intense release that subspace brings, at heart, she’s no man’s submissive. In this intense battle of wills, dominance and submission, love and commitment, he’s determined to tear down the walls around her heart.

Sierra Carwright is a one-click author for me, and Shockwave, doesn’t disappoint. The story sizzles with passion and heat from the beginning, and even after finishing the novel I’m still daydreaming about the characters’ relationship.

From page one, I was drawn into the world of Alani, a professional submissive who appears to be a little bored with what she does. Furthermore, though she’s a proclaimed masochist she is not by any means a submissive, at least, according to her.

I really liked Alani. Although she was a bit mouthy at times, I enjoyed the way she interacted with Master Nathaniel. The fact that she felt that she wasn’t a perfect submissive, that she didn’t even recognize herself as one, made her feel real. I enjoyed reading her development, not only as a submissive to Master Nathaniel, but as a fierce woman who realizes independence doesn’t necessarily mean going at it alone.

As for Master Nathaniel. Swoon. Could he be any more perfect? I think I fell for his kind of dominance from page one. He was extremely demanding at times, but when he showed his tender side, my own heart pitter-pattered. He gave Alani as much as he took.

As always, Ms. Carwright does a superb job at writing the sex and the BDSM elements within the story. Hot is an understatement regarding Shockwave. Fair warning, I have to admit, that with Alani being a masochist there were a few scenes that made me wince in sympathy (those clamps with weights, and that really big anal plug…). But the care Master Nathaniel showed for her made it worthwhile.

The book is long, but very fast paced and I read it in two days. I’m looking forward to read possible future novels involving Master Braxton and AJ.

All in all, Shockwave was an exquisite, highly recommendable read.

Unyielding by Ravenna Tate hooked and intrigued me from the start. Two people standing at the altar that did not want to get married: why?

Sadly, though Ms. Tate’s writing is excellent and I could easily immerse myself in the story, the book is riddled with distracting editing errors that interrupted the flow.

Furthermore, Unyielding is marketed as Dark Romance, but I really didn’t think it fit the bill. Sure, the hero, Merrick, had a few secrets, but I found him mild compared to other books. However, his overall sexiness and personality (demanding, yet caring, stands up for his wife, etc. ), made me fall for him. He’s well portrayed and his reasons for doing things the way he does makes sense.

As for the heroine, Lynda, I struggled with her actions. At times, she appeared to be weak, like a maiden in distress that needed saving. This contradicted what Ms. Tate was trying to portray: a strong independent woman that had gotten over her traumas, and set up her own successful business, etc. Not to mention, I had a hard time coping with her decision to help her family after all they’d done to her. Perhaps, a little more insight into her would have helped me understand her motivations.

Nonetheless, Unyielding was an entertaining and hot book. The sex was well described and sizzling. I particularly loved the spanking scene between the characters. Having the heroine cry as a result, instead of simply achieving a magical subspace, made it very real for me.

In conclusion, Unyielding by Ravenna Tate was an entertaining read. I’ll be looking for the next book in her Tortured Love series.

One evening, Logan and Jennifer are set up by well-meaning friends. This time, Logan is determined not to let her go. Jennifer will submit to him, no matter the cost to either of them.

Sierra Cartwright is one of my favorite authors. Sadly, Initiation is not one of my favorite books by her, though I’m not sorry I read it. Let me explain:

In the beginning, I was drawn into the story by two intriguing characters. Logan was a Dom with a mysterious scar on his face and piercing green eyes. Jennifer was a novice who had seen BDSM in a movie and wanted to try. While Logan felt a bit distant to me, Jennifer loved her coffee with lots of sugar and cream and enjoyed eating pastries, which made her realistic. I was eager to read and discover how he would earn her trust. The story didn’t quite meet my expectations. It was good but, having read many books by this author, I was expecting more.

I found the emotional connection between the characters, disappointing. For me, their love story felt like a negotiation. He’d Dom her and she’d do her own thing and sex would occur in the middle because they had the hots for each other. I missed depth in these two characters. I missed cheering for their love. I missed feeling more. This is a short story and maybe the author felt rushed to get “the good stuff” in but as a reader, I needed to see the buildup as much as the result.

Notwithstanding the shortfall in the emotional department, it didn’t do the same in the bedroom. Ms. Cartwright is in my opinion one of the best BDSM authors published. Her sex scenes are detailed and exquisitely written, this is BDSM that feels real and transported me to that moment with the characters. Readers who simply want a taste of her writing to test the heat, this will be a good one to recommend.

In conclusion, Initiation was a scorching read.

Nick Reardon, the hero of the story says at one point: “I’m not a believer in lightning striking,” referring to the instantaneous connection between him and Abigail, the heroine. Making characters instantly fall in love and show that there is something real between them beyond lust is difficult. Cerise DeLand pulls it off in this story.

In the first place, although the characters are really attracted to each other, there is no sex until well into the novel. Furthermore, what brings them together is in the first place, Abigail’s brother, Terry, and in the second, American history. The appearance of a mysterious ghost leads to a story that goes back centuries. I found the idea romantic and sweet and enjoyed the little mystery that surrounded the romance.

Cerise creates a romance between two strangers that are at the same time very familiar. In my opinion she did this well with Nick. He is commanding but in a way that comes through as sweet, caring and almost desperate for love. He is a true gentleman. On the other hand, Abigail occasionally fell short. Her thoughts and feelings sometimes appeared a tad superficial compared to his, and I would have liked to know more about her.

All in all, You Were Always Mine, was a quick, sweet read. I’ll be looking forward to a possible story between Terry and Catrina.

When his criminal activities catch up with him, loyalties are tested to the max, and Susie has another choice to make—walk away, or stay and accept the darkness within.

The first two things that caught my eye about Doris O’Connor’s latest release, His Prize, was the blurb and the super sexy cover. I knew from the start that this was a dark romance, so I was expecting a hero that wasn’t too nice and some possible scenes where I’d cringe.

O’Connor didn’t disappointment. His Prize is dark, but not to the point of unpleasant.

The hero, Ren, was even in his role as a killer, appealing. He was rough, mean, and yet, strangely sexy.

Susie was twenty years younger than Ren and though she was not a bad heroine, she could have been better. Her naivety tended toward nerve grating at times. Also, the fact that she fell in love with the hero so fast (mere hours after meeting him) because she submitted to him so easily made her attempts at having a backbone a bit pointless. I did like the fact that she was a voluptuous young woman.

There is no doubt that Doris O’Connor knows how to write sex. The relationship between the characters was sexually scorching. Their chemistry is off the charts. However, just as this was great, I did miss a stronger emotional connection between Ren and Susie. O’Connor tells us that the characters are in love, (Susie even mentions that Ren is tender with her and we glimpse some of that in the story), but it would have been nicer to read how the relationship developed. In the end, I felt that they were united by sexual drive and not so much by emotions.

Finally, I particularly enjoyed the nail biting twist near the end. It came unexpectedly, and for a moment, I doubted about how it would play out.

His Prize, was a short, enjoyable, extremely hot, dark romance read. I’ll definitely be looking forward to some more books in the series.

Ms. Stein’s writing flowed easily so that I quickly immersed myself into the Steampunk-fantasy world she created. Furthermore, her descriptions were vivid, so that I truly felt as if I were there with the characters.

The two main characters, Luna and Dario, are well rounded, with different, yet similar pasts full of conflict.

Luna, the main character, was a bit naive at times, but made up for it with a good dose of bravery and inner strength.

Dario, on the other side, has a dark side to him, but he is nothing short of sweet. His struggles between what his mind dictates him compared to his heart (and body), made me fall in love with him. He is a true gentleman.

Although, Saved by the Demon is a long novel, Ms. Stein was capable of building the anticipation between the characters. As a matter a fact,, one of my favorite scenes is when Luna and Dario finally share their first kiss. It’s worth mentioning, that when sex does occur it is a mix between oh-so-hot and sweet.

This is such an amazing world that I will be on the lookout in case Ms. Stein decides to revisit it, as the ending left me feeling as if there could be a promise of more adventures to come.
