I truly anticipate reading Joyee Flynn’s series because she continues the love story of the couples introduced in all of the previous books. It begins with Spencer and Ryder, then continues with each book to change their relationship by adding a new man. These kind of relationships seem impossible until you learn more about the men and the circumstances that bring them together. The protagonists in this book are all so unique that they each bring something special to complete “harem”. Each scene was designed to illustrate the love these men have for each other. I was touched by the dedication of all the members of this little family to make their partners happy by self sacrifice and thoughtfulness. By the end of the book you’ll be able to see that losing any one member of their group would devastate them and their special bond.

Another singular feature in shifter books is the bond between mates. Ms. Flynn manages to maintain the faithfulness in each mate while adding a new companion to the union. This book does end with a cliffhanger, but it does not in any way endanger the partnership of the harem. I’ve added a BDSM tag to this review but it is not a strong element in the book and is, in my opinion, very light in nature. I strongly suggest reading the first two books in this series before continuing to Dying Assassin. This book is written in first person, and includes two different perspectives. Do not be concerned by this as the change in perspective makes perfect sense and really adds to the understanding of the story.

I highly suggest you read the Wolf Harem series, especially Dying Assassin as it is my favorite so far. There were moments that I laughed so hard I had to find my place again. I think you’ll really enjoy this book and recommend picking it up today. The book is told from the Dekker’s first person point of view and Kierra’s first person point of view, alternating between chapters.

There is a lot that goes on in this book. There are old rivalries and betrayals, political power plays and innocence lost. Kierra’s life is completely altered when a villain from Dekker’s past shows up and raises the ante by kidnapping her. It’s the pivotal moment when their budding romance gets accelerated to the point of no return. I liked that both the hero and heroine liked each other before the conflict started because it made it plausible for what came afterwards.

Dekker is a man of many talents and years. I thought it was really hot when the author had Kierra read something that Dekker wrote. I bet that was a lot of fun. I sort of wished that both Kierra’s and Dekker’s characters were a bit more developed than they were but the author gave me enough to enjoy the story and I certainly did have a good time reading this book.

Viking Seduction: Blood Slave is a fascinating look into a seductive and highly addicting world of vampires and their relationships with humans. I enjoyed the world building and I think both Nate and Segrun show true potential for strong characters in future books. For those readers who enjoy it like I do, there’s plenty of bite action making this book a hot read. Try it and see.

There are several different types of sex scenes in this book from rough, voyeuristic encounters, to tender lovemaking. All are amazingly detailed which makes sense with this particular author.

I am giving this book four cherries only because I am comparing it to her other works. Love’s Denial is a fast paced, intensely erotic book that will get your heart pumping. This is a must read for any M/M enthusiast but I do recommend reading the first two in the series before indulging in this book. It’s unimaginable what she endured and by whom, but I think that’s why I found it difficult to believe she submits to Cooper so easily. She’s had to fend for herself for so long that I would’ve expected her to want to be more independent and perhaps a little more headstrong and defiant. While having Cooper step in and try to right some of the wrongs that have happened to Laney is very heroic; the problem is that he treats her too often like a child and her brothers do the same. His domination of her just seemed to me like a different type of abuse than from the one that she previously suffered. The characters, separately, do have some redeeming qualities, but as a couple, they are just a little too unreal.

The story itself can be at times quite depressing but the mystery surrounding some unusual events is what kept my attention. I really wanted to know “whodunit” and more importantly why. While I wouldn’t recommend this story for readers looking for a quick and light shifter read, I would recommend to those looking for a story with lots of steamy sex and plenty of tender moments.

I always know that any book by Cherise Sinclair is going to be good and this book does not disappoint. With characters full of depth and emotion I was once again pulled into the world of the Masters of the Shadowlands. Master Marcus is not only a great Dom and trainer he is a wonderful man who loves with all his heart. He is more than willing to fight for those that he loves.

Gabrielle is stronger than she looks. She is a fighter and no matter what life throws at her she keeps picking herself up. Right from the start the sparks fly between the two. Both fight their feelings and must find peace with their pasts before moving forward with each other. Gabrielle blossoms under Marcus’s love and when she finally opens up to Marcus he shows her what it means to him.

I loved the bond that each of the Masters of the club and their subs have, including Gabrielle and Marcus. They may enjoy their fun a little differently, but the love that they feel for each other always shines through in everything that they do. Even through the threats and the deceit of another jealous sub, Marcus and Gabrielle’s love never wavers. They may have their ups and downs but Marcus never gives up on Gabrielle and her love.

Make Me, Sir was a gripping story that kept me entertained all the way through to the end. I cannot wait to visit the Shadowland club again to see whose story is next.

This reviewer was thrilled to return for an exciting new story that had me losing sleep rather than putting down my eReader.

In the third installment of the Texas Sirens series, we go where no man or woman has gone before, into the past and the heart of The Club owner, Julian Lodge — you may call him Sir. We were introduced to Julian in book 2 of the series when Jack, Sam and Abby travel to Dallas to clean up a family problem.

How to describe Julian Lodge??? In a word he is INTENSITY personified. Have you ever known anyone who had so much charisma and stage presence that people stop and stare when they walk into a room? Again, Ms. Oak works her magic of character building when we meet Finn. He’s completely in love with and loyal to Dani and is willing to be a slave to Julian if it means being by her side. The reader gets a glimpse into the hellacious teen years after Finn realized he was attracted to men as well as women. Like Finn, we are treated to a screen shot of Dani’s painful years of growing up as poor white trash in Willow Fork. Watching the changes in both Dani and Finn once they become involved with Julian were truly breathtaking and poignant.

I could go on and on about the many layers of this amazing book but you really just need to read it to understand. You don’t have to have read the first two in the series to enjoy Siren Enslaved but it helps to get to know the secondary characters that are present. One of the aspects of the story I really enjoyed was that it smoothly shifts POV from Dani, Finn and Julian. It was easy to become emotionally invested in the story when I could better understand the characters motivation.

Since starting reviewing I have been “introduced” to a lot of terrific writers but there are a dozen or so that I consider truly outstanding story tellers. Sophie Oak is one of those. No matter if she takes you to Bliss, Colorado, a private island, a secluded ranch or Willow Fork, Texas you walk away knowing you have been a part of a fantastic and well developed adventure.

If you look for stories that tug at your heart strings while stealing your breath you will love Siren Enslaved. I know I did.

Imagine you wake up one day and everything you believed turns out to be a lie. How would you react? For Caleb, he is doing all he can to keep his head above water.

Caleb was introduced in the Marius Brothers series. He was characterized as the joker of the bunch, light hearted and fun to be around. So when I read his story I was a little taken by surprise by all the inner turmoil this character was suffering through. I found out that even the strongest of warriors have their breaking point.

On a trip to Ireland to meet up with his warriors friends for a mission he gets some unexpected surprises thrown at him. Upon arrival he discovers his mates, twins Lorcan and Liam. Caleb has never known love and acceptance from a lover before, so he is unsure how to treat his new found mates. They may not be warriors but they have a warrior’s heart. For the love of their mate they will stand by his side through any obstacles thrown his way.

The dynamics between these characters was excellent. When push came to shove they always had each other’s backs. I feel comfortable recommending this book to anyone who enjoys ménage themed storylines or even to those who don’t. This is not a story about the sex but about the love and respect these three men have for one another.
