It’s heartwarming to see how this family works together to heal the wounds of the past. The Marius family is one of love, respect, and loyalty. Once a part of their inner circle, no one gets left out or left behind.

Victor is a passionate love story between two men from completely different backgrounds but are wanting the same things out of life, love and acceptance. If you’re looking for a story that will bring a tear to your eye one minute and having you fanning your face the next from the very descriptive love scenes, this is the story for you. Yet I never understood if there was a reason for this, or if this was just part of his character.

Allie has fought hard to erase her past as an erotic dancer. She’s strong, confident, and dresses for the job she wants. She finished school, and worked her way up. Although the book started out strong, it was an interesting combination of strong ideas, great sex play, abrupt scenes, and incomplete storylines. Some great starts included: the overall setting of a high tech lighting company, hot office sex, the Bed and Bondage, orgasm denial, and Allie rebelling against orgasm denial. Some abrupt scenes include: Allie deciding to have sex with Grant, the gaps between them being together, and the ending. Orgasm denial would have worked if they were interacting together. But when orgasm denial simply means that you don’t see each other due to business trips, it didn’t work for me. And the ending left me questioning what the relationship would ultimately be. Watching them transform from Grant simply owning Allie to a loving relationship would have been beautiful. I would classify this as a happy-for-now romance.

Still, the author’s voice is solid. There are no noticeable grammatical or spelling errors. The sex scenes and play were steaming and left me hot and blushing. What was needed to make this a truly stellar story is some follow through with character motivations. For example, Allie says yes to being owned by Grant after a business meeting with Satin who was previously owned by Grant. Something was there, but I didn’t know Satin and Grant’s story. I was left wondering what Allie saw that convinced her to be his submissive. I see great potential in Ms. Rowe’s writing and I’ll be looking for more from her as she continues to grow as an author. It’s one step from the magic that would have made this book great.

Even at the end of the story I questioned the longevity of the relationship. I think that the characters still had some growth needed within themselves to truly convince me they would experience their happily ever after.

On a postive note, the author distinguished herself from the average BDSM storyline by writing Evan as a submissive that can top from the bottom. This intrigued me but I think that Evan had way too much power to be a true sub. For example Evan was allowed to speak and ask for the thing he wanted in this D/s relationship. In the end I realized that while the D/s relationship was a large part of their lives the love they felt for one another was more important.

The BDSM kink is explosive through out this entire story. Sexual intercourse is not a high priority for this triad. Witty banter, intense eroticism, and blossoming romance are nicely combined in this rapid read. I think you will genuinely enjoy this book, and recommend picking it up. I have already purchased the next two books in the series because I connected with the characters, and look forward to the rest of their story and more. Filled to overflowing with unrequited love, angst, longing, hope, and joy, Ms. Glenn’s Cowboy Keeper is more than a book…it’s an emotional experience. The obstacles and turmoil that Billy and Rourke face would have broken lesser men, and like a bee to honey I was drawn to their long suffering characters. This author continues to exceed my expectations, and I impatiently look forward to the next book in this line.

This is the second in the Blaecleah Brothers series, and begins shortly after the end of the last book, Cowboy Easy. The saga continues with the middle Blaecleah brother, Rourke who turns out to be a wonderfully expressive and protective person. Initially an infuriating playboy, I love his thoughtfulness in caring for Billy as the story progresses. My heart aches for Billy as he suffers through humiliation and abuse, gladly accepting these in order to protect the Blaecleah family. The Blaecleah family “legend” only enhances this endearment as each son searches for the one person who will complete them. It makes me want to move to their ranch and snag a brother for myself.

I think you’ll really enjoy this story, and wholeheartedly recommend reading Cowboy Keeper as soon as you can. Ms. Glenn is on my must read list for a reason…she’s a master at drawing me into the worlds she creates. This emotionally charged tale is sure to draw you in too.
