This story is full of angst, at times I wanted to yell at the characters to just talk to each other, stop assuming. Ms. Cullinan has a way of drawing me in. I keep telling myself that her books will be a quick light read, but every time she provides a much deeper, grittier and fully immersive story that I can’t put down, the kind that makes me snap at being interrupted, and Special Delivery was definitely one of those.

It’s a story about Mitch and Sam, but Mitch and Sam aren’t the only ones engaged in physical activity, there’s other men who come in to play, and that’s Sam and Mitch’s kink. More Mitch’s at the beginning but before we ever meet Mitch, it’s very clear that Sam has the same urges and leanings.

It’s an interesting blend of kink without really being a BDSM book, it’s more about what Mitch and Sam enjoy and them learning to deal with and love each other, I found it really erotic and very beautiful at its core. It’s got a lot of kink, so be prepared to explore new horizon right along with Mitch and Sam and their play partners, but never fret at the core it’s still a love story between Mitch and Sam and everything is done in a consensual way.

I highly recommend this book, and look forward to reading more in this series, since I really came to love one of their partners in this book and I’m dying to see where he ends up.

Savannah doesn’t want to believe in magic but there’s a part of her, buried deep, that can’t help but reach for what she knows to be truth. The reader isn’t given a real clear picture of where she came from but it is clear that her upbringing was strict and not always pleasant. Tim and Ryder are beautiful together. They’re so different in looks and personality but they mesh just right. I really liked the idea of Tim being a dream walker. That was a new twist on shifter story. He’s human but he has the ability to enter and interact with people in their dreams. Up until he started slipping into Savannah’s dreams, he’d only been able to play in the dream but there was never any evidence of his visit. That all changed when he and Ryder seduced and marked Savannah in a dream. It was meant to be, though. She needed them and they needed her.

Julia Talbot loves to write about shifters. It’s evident in her books. She practically pets them just to hear them purr. It’s in the dialogue and tension she builds between the characters. The men are intense and it isn’t just their woman they make all squirmy. The story isn’t heavy on plot but it is very character centric.

If I had to a single issue with the book it would have to be that I wanted there to be some closure for Savannah. She has a history and it’s interesting. Who are these people who took her in as a child and why were they so determined to make her deny magic? To feel like a freak and refuse to be true to herself? I wanted to know more about them but only for the sake of seeing them have to come to terms with what she is and how they made her feel.

I reach for Julia Talbot stories when the need for a good hot shifter book strikes me. They aren’t typically long but they are always satisfying. She writes some smoking M/M fun and it only gets better when she gives them a female to play with. Her books allow me to be a cybervoyer with no shame. Of course, I loved this book! What’s not to love? It was everything that I wanted it to be in a story. Murphy is a great story that hooked me from beginning to end. All of the characters were awesome. I simply must read about each one of them. Murphy, our hero, was so hot. I want one just like him!

Murphy and Tate had an electrifying chemistry together, even when they were fighting, but especially in the sizzling hot love scenes. Tate was a bit of a brat in the beginning, though I later found out that they had some bad history together. She gave him her heart and then it looked like he threw it away. She had very good reasons for making her man earn back the trust he had destroyed. I felt that Murphy was absolutely perfect though. Everything he did was to protect Tate and the club. He proved it in so many ways. Who could resist a man like that ? Not me ! Tate was strong, though, and she really made him work for it. I loved her too.

This book had everything including lots of great characters that made me want to join their club. The love scenes were so memorable. They were very explicit with some anal and toys as Murphy showed Tate that he owned her body as well as her heart. The suspense was fantastic. Danger loomed from a rival MC with some nasty connections. The book had a lot of things going on, great action and nice sub-plots that I can’t wait for the author to explore. That’s what I like about series books. I get sucked in and want to know everyone’s story. That’s exactly what happened with this book.

Bottom line: This book was just about perfect in my opinion, with only a few editing mistakes. I found some odd phrases that should have been worded differently in order to be correct.  I had to stop reading for a moment to take another look and see if my eyes were deceiving me. Though this was annoying, it in no way detracted from the great plot. The plot was good. It had a great story, and I easily connected with the characters. I absolutely loved the hot bikers. The story had plenty of action both in and out of the bedroom. It even had a few funny moments within the drama and action. I can’t wait to watch Eva take on Tiny. I loved this one, and I can’t wait to check out more books in the series. The next book up for me is Nash. It’s looking like I’m in for a wild ride with that one.

Murphy was a great read for me. I enjoyed it immensely and have no problem recommending it to everyone.

I enjoyed watching the relationship between Jay and Alix take shape. Jay has done his duty by finding a new slave for the king to play with but the torture he puts Alix through and the growing feelings that Jay has for Alix makes Jay confused and begin to question his beliefs. This story not only brings us Alix and Jay’s story but also one of a king’s choices and their consequences. Jay and Alix are both good men and seeing them find happiness in any way that they can made for a nice read. The two make a great couple showing that good men come in all shapes. Whether you are a king, a soldier or a miner it is what is inside you not what you have. This author does a good job of bringing the reader into the wondrous world that they created and keeps you entertained until the very end.

I thought it was clear from the outset he still held a torch for Olivia, and she clearly hadn’t ever fully got over his refusal to have sex with her. While the set up of their meeting – a bunch of drunken girls being nabbed by the cops for outrageous behaviour – wasn’t very new, I found Michael and Olivia’s situation and their characters were fresh enough to have me invested in their relationship and interested in how things would progress between them. I was also impressed by how Michael had enough control over himself to leave Olivia while she was drunk and not really able to properly consent to his full wishes. I felt this spoke a lot about his character and put him in a positive light.

While not for the faint of heart, there’s nothing too offensive or over the top kink wise in this book. Some restraints, oral sex and a bit of spanking certainly makes for spicy reading – but I didn’t find it really pushed the envelope. I’d think this would be a good book to recommend people who like some kink in their erotic reading but nothing truly “out there”. I enjoyed reading about Michael and Olivia and while I found their coming together a little too smooth to be realistic or believable, it was a really great read and something I’d happily read again when the mood strikes. Recommended.

I loved her honesty with herself as well as others. She joined the military because she needed the money for school but she took her job of protecting the injured very seriously. It wasn’t simply a means to an end where she would look out for herself more than her charges. I admired that. When the time she committed to the military was up she took her experiences and made a new life but there was a thread to her past that she held onto: the thread that linked her to her first love, John David. He may not have been intended to be her forever love but the indelible mark they left on each other was so beautifully spelled out in the pages of this story.

I liked how Ms. Rylon backtracked ever so often to drop in information from Jambi’s past as explanation for the woman she had become. Her military training as a nurse and the man who first touched her heart were so splendidly and vividly displayed in her descriptive writing. Let me tell you, the part about the ‘super spy’ brought more than a few tears.

The men who were destined to give Jambrea the love that John couldn’t were different than him but no less heroes. Some readers might think that she settled for Clint and Matt when she finally gave up on John but they would be wrong. I loved how these guys are so passionate about Jambi and determined that she not only feel wooed, cherished, and not rushed. Bless their hearts, they really were trying to be gentlemen. It’s clear from the get go, Jambi doesn’t want gentle. However, she very much wants what these two guys bring separately and together to the relationship. Readers who don’t enjoy a little M/M action need not read this book. These guys may be new to that arena but they catch on fast and hot!

There’s an underlying story that serves as the basis for Jambrea, Clint and Matt meeting up with someone who provides closure for Jambrea and John’s history. It also sets up a future story for Ryan and Ben along with the tension generated between Lucas and Ellie. That’s one story I have no doubt will have me crying big ugly tears. It’s going to be so good when they find their HEA. They both deserve it so much!

Spread Your Wings works fine as a stand-alone but there is a lot of history from the prior stories sprinkled in. I’d forgotten that I’d read the first book in the series when it came out a few years ago. I will most definitely be going back to read the missed in between books. It sounds like this group of men and women have given up blood, sweat and tears to form the tight unit of Men in Blue. They are more than a unit, they’re a family anyone could be proud to be part of. I enjoyed the sci-fi/fantasy aspect of this story, space ships and cruising around various planets, laser guns and all manner of weaponry. But still the characters weren’t too alien. There were wealthy, paranoid security specialists and kings drunk on their own power – characters and people I could relate to and understand. That made me enjoy this story even though I’m not usually a sci-fi fan.

When Rylan’s latest mission gets complicated, that’s when I found the author’s style really started to shine though. I found the characters interesting and they drew me into the story. While there is a lot of M/M sex, I found it hot and always consensual. I particularly liked the sense of adventure the authors writing gave the missions. It felt a bit like a futuristic story of derry-do. Even though Rylan is an assassin, he is a good man, a fair one, and this made me like him immensely, even if his job is to kill people. The only drawback I had reading this book is that it moves quite quickly. The scenes flash by and I felt like the story was a bit rushed – like I couldn’t relax and linger over every action and scene. I also found the ending to be a bit unrealistic, but the romance reader in me just sighed happily and couldn’t help but enjoy it.

I found this to be a hot, sensual story filled with adventure, space travel, murder and enough sex to singe my eyebrows. The characters were vibrant and interesting, the plot not overly convoluted but riveting and the alien landscapes thrilling. I greatly enjoyed this book and would happily read more from the author.
