Rumpelstiltskin as you’ve never know. The untold version through the eyes of a troubadour.

When order cheap viagra purchasing here was no longer patented, a number of companies started producing generic pills that offered the same benefits as levitra at a fraction of the cost. To find a solution to headache generic cialis soft it is essential that the reason behind the headache is identified. If you are shy about the whole issue that pesters the man, the principle discount bulk viagra guilty party is the compound of PDE5. Kamagra Oral Jelly, in the same way as cheapest viagra pills all different pills under Kamagra brand, is delivered in India by Ajanta Pharma. Come, dear readers, and let this traveling troubadour reward you with the tale of a lovely miller’s daughter, who had been misled by the exaggerated boasting of her father, and her misadventures at the hands of her king. You may think you know the story, but let me assure you, you know merely a fraction of the tale. Listen as I tell you how the clever lass got the best of king and troll alike.

It’s about time that someone set the record straight. Half of the rumors flying around about Rumpelstiltskin are baldfaced lies!

One of the most enjoyable things about this tale was its character development. The original version didn’t go into very much detail about why the main characters made certain choices, so it was fun to see what could have prompted those decisions. I was especially intrigued by what Mr. Winchester did with the king who orders the miller’s daughter to spin straw into gold.

This story regularly switched between first and third person narration. I would have preferred for the plot to stick with only one of those points of view. At times it was a little jarring to make the transition between them because they were written in two very different manners. If I could only pick one of them, I’d go with the first person narration because the speaker in it had such a dry wit. It would have worked well as a frame for every single scene.

The miller’s daughter was by far my favourite character. She quickly learned how to look after herself even when the odds were clearly stacked against her. I admired her resourcefulness even thought some of her methods were a little cringe-worthy. Seeing how she changed from one scene to the next made me smile. While I don’t know if the author plans to write a sequel, I’d be curious to hear more from her again soon.

I’d recommend The Untold Story of Rumpelstiltskin to anyone who loves retellings of classic fairy tales.

It’s also a chance for Sarah to learn the truth behind why her husband left his childhood home at such an early age. What she doesn’t count on is falling for their handsome host. She also doesn’t count on finding out the family legacy: Mingan means wolf!

Her deceased husband and father of twin boys has been dead for three years, but when his widowed wife, Sarah receives a letter requesting she take the twins up north for the summer of the boys 12th birthday she finds it strange but complies. Why would Sarah’s deceased husband request that she connect with a family that he seemed to distance himself from while he was alive?

Heart Shifter was a refreshing read that gave just enough. I enjoyed the mystery behind the family secret and also the attraction between Sarah and Mitch. Sarah loved her husband and thought highly of him but his cousin Mitch Mingah has a dark sex appeal that Sarah can’t help feel the pull. From the description the author has given Mitch, he sounds irresistible. The characters were likable and the plot was original. The author has a talent for writing. I even enjoyed the domesticity writing details of the day to day breakfast, grocery shopping and family gatherings.

There were a few typos but nothing that would take away from the reading flow. The ending was slightly predictable but still manages to not leave you disappointed.

This is a book of wolf shifters. However as I stated earlier the author gave just enough of a balance between romance and a soft version of the wolf behavior. I enjoyed the family heritage and family togetherness. If you enjoy a novel of wolf shifters but you don’t want all the violence and killing this will be an enjoyable read for you.

Three strikes and you’re out…

A series of strange accidents are occurring at Sirona, a luxury spa resort in the picturesque English countryside. Billionaire owner Nic Capitini wants the person responsible sacked. But the law requires he give three official warnings. And the chemistry between them is undeniable. When Poppy herself is threatened, it seems clear the incidents are part of a systematic campaign of sabotage. Even though he believes she’s innocent, Nic knows Poppy is hiding something. But will learning her secret mean losing her forever?

Mixing business and pleasure can be problematic, but it can also be irresistible, especially when it comes to Poppy and Nic.

Nic is a self-made billionaire with a dark family past. His main focus in his adult life has been his business, so it’s understandable that he is very protective of it. When the events at one of his resorts endanger his success, he flies to England to personally sack the manager. He doesn’t expect to encounter the innovative, capable and feisty Poppy.

I loved Poppy’s character because she was independent and strong. She’d supported herself and her sister since her teens. Her energetic personality was a great counterpart to Nic’s principled view of things, and both helped create great chemistry and a deep conflict between them. It was easy to understand their motivation and sympathize with their struggles as they began to feel mutual attraction.

While the characters were well-developed, the story and plot were rather cliché and too predictable. I figured out who the saboteur at the resort was much too early, so there was practically no suspense left for me. Even the romance between Nic and Poppy developed in a predictable way and thus made it less enchanting. I wished for a surprise twist, something that would show them and their relationship in a different light.

The story ends with a happy ending that is perhaps a bit too fairytale-like and slightly spoils the otherwise lovely story. With all the troubles that Poppy and Nic had had, they were solved too easily in the end. I felt the plot needed either a more realistic ending, or maybe a longer finale in which the resolution would slowly come together.

What I really liked in this novel was the main character, Poppy, and I’d recommend the book to anyone who likes strong female characters.

Christmas can be murder on a relationship that s on the rocks.

“The Phoenix Institute, Book 3.5”

As Christmas approaches in crumbling Charlton City, Detective Aloysius James and his partner, Noir, are at a crossroads. Figuring out how to reconcile their careers with their relationship is harder than catching the bad guys.

Now that Noir has learned to control her invisibility and is making a name for herself among the city s artist collective, Al senses there s something she s keeping from him. And he doesn t know how long they can remain partners. Or even lovers.

When a murder lands them on opposite sides Al ready to arrest a suspect Noir insists in innocent they re going to need to unwrap all the ghosts of their pasts to make this Christmas the first of many. Or it could be their last.

When a person is two parts of the same whole, how do you find resolution?

Lucy was a victim of a kidnapping and made to endure experiments at her captor’s hands. She becomes Noir, a girl who can become invisible. She is save by Al, otherwise known as Detective Fixit. The two have a stormy romance but one thing is for sure: they do love each other. There is a particularly spicy sex scene that was positively delightful and I wanted much, much more.

Noir/Lucy is trying to define herself in the real world. She lives with Al, but he too is struggling with how to treat this girl who originally came from the burbs. Is she just on a pit stop or is she involved for keeps? When a murder takes place in the holiday exhibit at the museum Noir is involved with for her art, the two have to work together to solve the mystery. Are Noir’s friends involved or is it an elaborate frame? Insert Noir’s special talent for invisibility, some akward social situations and a whole lot of snark and you have a story that kicks butt.

Vulnerabililty was a theme during the book and it really resonated with me. Noir/Lucy is two people, but why can’t she just be both? Al has to struggle with his fears of relationships and decide whether or not to trust her with his life and his case. Great tension and a wonderful plot development.

The romance between Noir and Al began before the book started but I had no trouble picking up what was happening. The love is there, but so is the mounting tension. Personal barriers, police vs. transient population, politics and greed all play a part in this great novel.

I will be going back for more books from this author and she is on my must read list for urban fantasy.

On a cold and still night, a frightened woman makes a frenzied escape down a wooded mountainside. Fear is her only companion. Silence is her only salvation.

Anna Nicholson had lived all her life under the shadow of prejudice in the remote village high on Mount Louis whose reclusive people were considered as wild and primitive as the wilderness from which they lived. So when she awakes one morning to find herself in a stranger’s barn with a rifle to her face and no memory of how she got there, she is overcome with a gripping fear. Yet, instinctively knew it did not arise from the big and burly cowboy standing directly behind the Winchester rifle or the other nine fierce cowboys who called the ranch home, but instead from a memory she could not recall. Mistaken for a mute teenage boy, Anna is able to hide unseen and unheard from an evil she could not recall.

Wade Haddock is the rough and tough but lonely cowboy who finds a frightened Anna in his barn. Convinced the isolated wilderness was no place for a woman, he allows Anna to hide away on his sprawling Rocky Mountain ranch believing her to be a mute teenage boy. While gradually succumbing to the bond growing between them, the wall around his guarded heart begins to slowly crumble. Only to discover Anna’s deception. And a memory that could destroy their love.

A lone woman running from an unnamed fear ends up in a ranch under the protection of a burly cowboy who believes her to be a mute teenage boy with no memory. It could either make their life or destroy it.

The hero in this novel is a cowboy who loves his land and has owned it since inheriting it from his father. Unlike his siblings who strayed more towards their English heritage, he loves his mountains and the ranch and never wanted to leave it. So when one day Wade Haddock finds a ‘mute teenage boy’ in a barn who can’t remember how he came to be there or the last 24 hrs, he hires the boy, who is really a young woman, to work on his ranch. He forms a bond with him/her. From there the journey leads them to finding love and the mystery of her life unfolds whilst bringing a torrent of pain and guilt that would take a lifetime to heal.

From the first page I was hooked. The writer knew how to spin the story to this reader’s liking. Still, there was a point when Anna gets settled on the ranch that the mystery of the book seemed to disappear or came to a standstill. The romance almost took over. There were a few places like that where the tempo would slow and just as I began thinking of maybe stopping the book something would actually happen. It was enough to keep me reading and wanting to know how Anna and Wade’s story would play out.

I loved the actions and personalities of all the characters. The intrigue into what happened to Anna added some heart stopping moments when things started unfolding. I don’t think readers will get bored because the characters and the romance between the two had just enough heart and heat. I liked that the author sprinkled in little bits and pieces of Anna’s past throughout the story rather than dumping it all in one place. It helped build the story and keep it going.

Mystery with romance. A heady combination.

Second Nature starts its story of lost love and second chances on an airplane, where the heroine Dana is experiencing her first airplane flight and is absolutely terrified. Dana is the real strength of this story. Her vulnerability makes her sympathetic and the author does a brilliant job of showing the effect Nick’s walking out without a word, had on her. You get the sense that Dana has only recently begun to recover from it and that her friend’s wedding is serving as an opportunity to finally put it all behind her and move on once and fall all. Because of that you feel particularly sorry for her when confronted with the shock of seeing Nick at the party thrown for her friends.

Dana’s best friend Amy is likable. She’s quirky and opinionated and has a lot of personality. Her part in trying to bring Dana and Nick together, while questionable on her part, was very much in-character and really helped her come alive for me.

Unfortunately I could not warm to the character of Nick. During the more steamy scenes between him and Dana, he had lines and actions that I was not entirely comfortable with. For example when she gets angry at him and says she’s going to walk home, his response is to grab her wrist, say “I don’t think so little lady,” and kiss her. The author does stress that Dana not only consents to the kiss but enjoys it. Still Nick didn’t not know that she would and there was a presumption and arrogance in the action given their history together. Also, at least to me, it felt oo aggressive.
In general Nick’s actions seemed more like a man who felt confident he’d win the girl, rather than those of a man who felt he had to earn her forgiveness. Indeed there seemed to be a disconnect between the way he acted and the way he thought during the passages when we saw things from his point of view.

Despite all of that however, I did like the actual relationship between the two leads. I enjoyed the honesty and maturity. Dana was open to what Nick had to say and the way she handled herself throughout the book only made me like her even more.

The story itself was very enjoyable however. I loved the short timeframe that story is told over and when was quite surprised by Nick’s story when he finally tells Dana why he left her five years ago. The book has quite a lot of plot and there was never a moment that felt dull.

Second Nature is a lot of fun. It’s very fluffy and sweet and makes for a light and enjoyable read. If you enjoy second chance romances, you’ll enjoy this one.

Damarion, is leading a group of female demons on a mission. During his punishment on Earth, Damarion learns of dangers within his coven trying to stop him from returning to his love, still trapped in Hell and A love he was so sure was true…

This story has a neat twist to the paranormal genre. I really enjoyed the idea of having good people who ended their own lives being chosen to become demon hunters as a type of penance and way to earn redemption. It’s also a unique look at interracial romance … usually we either have a historical story where it’s clearly forbidden by society, or a contemporary one where it’s not considered illegal or immoral, but here we have Nye, a former slave “frozen” at the age he was at his death, and in his mind he really struggles to get past the mores of his time.

This story is told in first person, which isn’t a favorite of mine, and it’s also told from several points-of-view which occasionally made it difficult to know who was speaking. It’s not that the author has made characters who sound the same–she hasn’t!–it was just a little difficult to jump from one head to another in first person, so that was a stumbling block for me. Ms. Prince also has a slightly formal voice in her writing, so I sometimes felt as if I should be reading literary fiction and not a romance.

I really enjoyed seeing the two factions here: the frozen and the demon horde and getting into the heads of Nye and Damarian was very interesting. Such completely different people with completely different goals (heaven and hell). the storyline is certainly unique in a paranormal market glutted with shifters and vampires. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to read it and I’m glad I did. If you’re looking for a story outside the norm, with a wonderful romance that will make your heart sigh and a story with the promise of more (while the romance between Nye and Kiri is pretty well wrapped up here, this is clearly the start of a series), then I can happily recommend Shared Redemption. It’s a worthwhile addition to the genre.

For the first time ever, the leader of the Viking Vampire Angels, Vikar Sigurdsson, has been talked into celebrating a traditional Christmas! The tree has been decorated, the gifts have been wrapped, and the stockings have been hung. And that’s mistletoe, not cobwebs, hanging from the ceiling of the creepy castle full of vangels … really!

The icing on the vampire cookie comes when vangel Karl Mortensen rescues Faith Larson, a battered young waitress, from her abusive boyfriend and hides her in the castle amidst the Christmas chaos. But what Karl thought was a frail young teenager is actually a very tempting woman. And she thinks his fangs are sexy!

But a strange “Christmas visitor” at the castle and demon vampires up to their old tricks could threaten the budding romance between Karl and Faith. It’s an impossible match—a human and a vangel—but Christmas is a time for magic.

Think of one of those famous mini sized chocolate candy bars filled with nougat and caramel and peanuts. That is what Christmas in Transylvania; A Deadly Angels Novella is like. Lots of sweetness because of the holiday, different flavors due to the many characters that populate the tale and nuts for the serious nut case that causes problems for the heroine. It’s a short, fast tale showcasing Karl the Vangel, and Faith the human woman who touches his heart. Yes, this novella is like a mini Snickers bar and just as delicious – but non-fattening.

Because this is a short novella, Karl has to move fast. My head is still spinning from his going from zero to sixty in nothing flat. My understanding is that his attachment to Faith had been building for a while, but it was an unconscious decision on his part. The moment for action came with some unsettling news and since Karl is at heart, a hero, he didn’t second guess himself. He took charge and that was exciting.

Faith was a woman beaten down by life among other things. She’d lost her mojo due to circumstance of being influenced by the wrong person. With Karl, I got to see her recover and see the woman she was before she made a fateful decision. Through his love and support, I also got to see her bounce back and take an interest in life again. It was a feel good moment.

Nothing feels as good as passion realized; I just never thought of candy when I think of sex. After reading this story, that impression sure has changed. Wow.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a vangel story without the villain putting in his two cents’ worth. Jasper is such a deviant. So are his underlings. He continues to be the ultimate villain – he may bumble a bit but a reader is never left in doubt as to his 100% evilness – completely unredeemable. Yay for the good guys!

Michael the Archangel shows up and I absolutely, totally and completely adored his reaction to The Chipmunks’ music. I also happen to agree. The twins popped in with their enchanting and charming way to drop a few info bombs on the heroine, thus propelling the plot along even faster. But how can any heroine panic from such news when delivered by such two adorable poppets eating lollipops? It was a cute touch.

There was a lot to enjoy in this novella to be sure. The only drawback was its rushed feeling. The initial villain was brutal and the author made that abundantly clear but the afterwards was too fast a closure for me. True, it was good for everyone else but it aided the ‘rushed’ feeling. Then the big to-do planned by Jasper was a nonevent. I got to see the planning and the devilish glee of his anticipation, but no action. Everything dramatic or suspenseful takes place off stage. I suppose for time’s sake it had to, but it translated as telling to me, and not showing. I am also getting a bit bored with the ‘moonwalk’ references; I think there needs to be a new dance move, what, I have no clue, but the current dance has lost its charm for me. The character, however, remains engaging and interesting.

Christmas in Transylvania gives fans of the series a treat. It doesn’t offer up any surprises or dramatic revelations. This is purely a fun, entertaining and lighthearted read that is very appropriate for its title. Many scenes are smile inducing and the descriptions of all the holiday decorations were simply gorgeous. I’d love to see a place decorated like that for real, especially the tree. That was an amazing tree. I definitely recommend this to readers who are looking for light holiday fare that includes vampires and angels and drunken cookie bakers. It’s really sweet.

Can a fun weekend romance grow into anything more? Is there enough time? And does anyone even want it to?

Between the Sheets is fun and lighthearted. Told from Maggie’s point of view, it has a good sense of humor and an upbeat tone. The setting for the story is perfect. The author does a fantastic job of describing the music teacher retreat and really building a community of sorts with all the characters and supporting cast. It was a unique setting and I loved the interactions between all the characters. I was amused by the cliques and hierarchy among the music teachers and it added a lot of fun moments to the story.

Randy is a great hero. I found him likable and sympathetic. I loved that he wore glasses. I loved his sense of humor. There aren’t many serious moments in the story but when there were, I genuinely felt for him and I wanted to see him happy by the end of the book. His back story was one of my favorite parts of the story and made him a very interesting character.

I wasn’t however as attached to Maggie, largely because I felt like I never really got to know her, which was strange considering the book was told from her perspective. So much of the story though was her doing things that she told the reader was out of character for her that I never really got much of a sense of what her true character was. There a few hints but largely I felt like I never got to meet the real her. Since we spent so much time with Maggie, this was a big issue for me. I also wondered if I didn’t know Maggie, how could Randy really get to know her?

I did like the way that Maggie’s doubts tied with her past, weaved together to create very believable obstacles between the couple. The romance in general is very believable and I enjoyed following its progression.

The book is a pretty fast read and quite an enjoyable one. It’s a fluffy, enjoyable romance and would be a great companion for a lazy afternoon. If you want something that’s lighthearted and enjoyable, you couldn’t go wrong with Between the Sheets.

This is a story with many layers. It is about friendship love and maternal love, not a story of sexual romantic love. The sexual activity is not the soul mate, sweet, ecstasy kind. One memorable element of friendship love is how much a friend gives to save her friends from the self-destructive path they are on—a path that would have stolen their self-respect and sentenced them to a bleak future. It also reveals the pure love of one man who reaches out to help others and reaps tragic rewards. Another layer shows greed and selfness corrupting and influencing lives and subtly changing the culture of an island.

Three college roommates come together for a summer ten years after graduating. They’ve led very different lives, yet still have a strong connection with each other. During their stay on Martha’s Vineyard, their lifelong beliefs are tested to the limit. Rich, drifting-along Dory, the bereft mother Charlotte, and the still-searching-for-meaning-in-her-life Turner have their lives forever changed by “the fisherman.”

The subtle foreshadowing, moments of humor, and the many “what-ifs” enrich this compelling story about the good, bad and the ugly of humanity. Strong women, unsavory antagonists, and a tangled plot all come together to hold the reader’s attention in a firm grip from start to finish.

To this reader, the names for many of the characters are so much more than just names. They fit the characters’ personalities. Tripp, Turner, Smoke, and others tell so much about these characters and the part they play in the intricate plot. I personally had some special names for the bishop and priest and the sheriff. As I’ve mentioned, the characters are flawed—some a LOT more than others.

Another interesting little aside, the numbers tattooed on Charlotte’s arm and the little red light that shined through the hedges at night are seemingly just mentioned in passing, but each of them give the story another little unique element

Michael Hurley is a superb storyteller. THE VINEYARD is an attention-keeping novel to be enjoyed more than once.
