Pushed by her dying father into a marriage with one of his friends, Charlotte Rutherford Wylde finds herself bound to an old man who disdains and ignores her. Miserable, furious, she determines to take drastic action, but before she can confront him, her husband is murdered in the dark London streets. From the moment Charlotte hears this upsetting news, she is subject to shock after shock. Her dead husband has spent the fortune she brought him, leaving her nearly penniless. His will reflects his obsession with the artifacts of ancient Rome, turning her home into a museum. And most astonishing of all, he had an entire family that he never mentioned.

The fashionable Wyldes are as surprised to hear of Charlotte’s existence as she is of theirs. To the charismatic Alec she is, at first, just another obligation in his overburdened life. He has to grapple with his dead relative’s shady business dealings, an attempted robbery, and a suspicious Bow Street Runner. But it’s not long before Alec realizes that there is nothing he would rather do than cherish the entrancing Widow Wylde.

Being married to the Grinch who acts like a frustrated and covetous museum curator is a recipe for a disastrous life and that is where a reader meets the beaten down yet courageous heroine, Charlotte.

Right away the author paints a picture of a woman you can feel sorry for. She’s belittled and scorned at every turn and when it seems all hope is lost, her circumstances turn on a dime. What follows is a journey on which she learns to have hopes again, and it was fascinating to watch her relearn how to have fun. It plucked at my emotions to see her realize how much she’d been denied and that she no longer had to cower and keep her thoughts and observations to herself. A reader sees Charlotte come into her own and it was terrific to read.

One of the highlights for the heroine is the hero, Alec. He’s a frustrated hero on many levels not the least of which is his being robbed of actually being a hero. Not that he would admit to wanting to be, but the signs where that that Alec had feelings for Charlotte. Watching him deny his attraction, or run and hide behind his duties, or run a mental horror story of a list of why he shouldn’t pursue her was at times both amusing and frustrating to read. Once again the technique is used of having the male lead in a story be plagued by events he witnessed as a child affecting and directing his adult life – until certain revelations turn his beliefs and his understanding of the world on its ear. Fortunately, the ploy wasn’t overdone or heavy handed and served as a convincing plot conflict because the author used the technique well.

On the other hand a technique that almost made me motion sick was the head hopping. Sometimes it works, depending on placement and the amount it’s used in a book. In this case I found it very jarring and disruptive to have so many switches in point of view. I believe there were four. I can perhaps see why the author did it because she had not one but two romances going. The second love story being that of Charlotte’s maid, Lucy and Alec’s servant, Ethan. It was sweet, and certainly the couples’ lives intertwined in such a way to keep a reader fascinated. But no matter how well the scenes were written, the delivery was choppy and broken and it left me feeling like I had to work harder to read the book.

The main conflict is the solving of a crime and who it eventually turned out to be. The author wove the mystery of who could have done it very well and it wasn’t until almost the end that I figured out who it was. Ms. Ashford was clever with her clues. It was a bit of a surprise to find out who it was because no one seemed capable of such a scandalous thing. The author even threw in a few red herrings, so I was appropriately and convincingly diverted.

Once Again a Bride is a clever and entertaining historical romance sure to please many a reader. When Charlotte and Alec get to experience the ultimate in loving, it’s spicy and pleasing. The story also left me wondering how in the world Alec’s cousin was going to fare beyond this tale. I loved Callie, the naughty kitty and enjoyed getting to know Alec’s sisters. There is a lot to be entertained by in this book and it’s worth reading a romance about a time in England’s history that I don’t often see dealt with. I’m glad I read it.

A rogue hunter, a clueless witch and a mission to save an unknowing world.

Parris McCall, owner of the dive bar, The Alibi, has finally constructed a life where her little quirks don’t show or matter to anyone. As for her grandmother’s warnings that she’s different, well, she’ll cross that bridge if she comes to it.

But when Ty walks into her bar, both lives are instantly changed.

Now Ty has to help Parris admit who she is before her long-lost relatives kill her.

Ty is a lawyer and is only filling in on the dart team play-offs because one of the members is sick. Once he steps in the pub, he realizes that his other job is going to be required here. He knows there is a rogue witch in the premises.

Ms. Cahoon has created a world where the Magic Council regulates witches and has members of their council as hunters to bring in any unregistered witches. Her two main characters are Ty, a member of the council and Parris, a woman who knows she’s different, but doesn’t know she is a witch. She also adds in one more twist to the story that doesn’t become known until later.

Ty is hoping Parris’s witch strength is not strong enough to require registration. Parris just knows he’s a hunk and she wants to see more of him. He’s attracted to her, too, and he can’t be. And that’s just the beginning of their troubles.

This has the potential to be a very good series. There is suspense, the threat of death, traitors and spies, and regular life to deal with. It’s an intriguing story line and the author’s word flow smoothly. I enjoyed this read but felt the author should have written a bit more before ending this part of the story. It read more like an introduction than a complete novella. That’s partly influenced by the ending. The author gives you enough information to go on with the story and she ends it with a cliff-hanger. That’s an acceptable technique, but I would have preferred to see her take it just a bit farther and show the “viper” nestled in Ty’s office as they return to regular life.

I can guarantee you that you will want to read the next in this series. The author surprised me when she pointed out the traitor. I had no clue. Think you’ll know? Get a copy and see!

Benefits of Buy Kamagra Online in UK you should visit anabolicmuscles.com. anabolicmuscles.com have become most trusted and low priced viagra acknowledge steroid supplier in UK since 2002. Life has made a renegade out of this hero and being a cop is a hard line to walk when rules, regs and a Captain who has it in for him all scheme to trip him up. Diego is tough, resourceful and is gritting his teeth at being roped in to toe the line. In a hick town no less. The hunky hero is about to find out that small towns can hide big things, like the key to his heart and a lust so huge it’ll make him goofy.

I get the biggest kick out of a story that takes a strong, take charge and goal oriented man and pairs him with a woman who doesn’t fit any mold of any female he’s ever come across. Watching a sexy guy turn into Pavlov’s dog whenever Jade turns her ‘green-eyed pixie’ gaze on him was very entertaining. Realizing that Diego had a horrid childhood and is emotionally starved ended up being a strong lure to keep on reading through to the end. He’s a person who has to control everything, is driven to succeed and will do anything to solve a case. As the hero falls in love for the first time in his life, he finds that solving the case isn’t as engrossing or the top priority as it once was. But is it a good thing or a bad thing? It takes a while for him to figure that out.

Jade is adorable. In the beginning she seems all Suzy Sunshine. As with the sun, the clouds have to come by eventually and dampen the mood. That’s a good way to describe getting to know the heroine. She’s genuine and sweet but she has a few regrets, some unmet dreams and feels smothered by responsibility. What I liked was the volatile chemistry between Jade and Diego. It is the catalyst that brings Jade to life and it inspires her willingness to let go, to explore and spread her wings. It was great to watch.

The cat, Persephone, is the key. Imagining the antics that Jade’s cat gets into around Christmastime and what it does to hapless decorations is one of the cutest and giggle-worthy elements in the whole book. It was a terrific touch and I thought the interactions between the kitty and Diego were wonderful. If there needed to be a little conflict and mayhem, Persephone was more than up to the task. What the cat did do was showcase the best points about both Diego and Jade in their reactions to caring for, chasing or rescuing said kitty.

There were wonderful human secondary characters too, like Mayor Applebaum. He sort of turned into the kind of father figure Diego probably wished he’d had but thought they really didn’t exist. Then again there was that nasty woman at the library that’s more in line with the city rat race that he was used to. Ms. Weber did an effective job in creating a character that I didn’t like. How? That woman didn’t like Persephone and one sentence she uttered was downright cruel. Boo Hiss.

Nice & Naughty has some quality hot-cha-cha going on between the sheets and anywhere else Diego can convince Jade to have a little fun. Because a lot of their coming together was spontaneous and combustible, I never knew when it was going to happen, but due to the strong writing skills that Ms. Weber employs, every scene was steamy, effective and fun.

Although the tug of war between his job/her job, his dreams/her dreams is a typical ploy, and the ‘how’ of the opportunity to fix it all was a bit anti-climactic and predictable, those techniques didn’t detract from this being an enjoyable read and worth spending time with. There were too many smiles and giggles and sweet and funny characters worth reading about to make me not mind.

Most of the story is internal conflict and personality issues between Diego and Jade. However, that’s not all that lurks in the shadows. The author added in a surprise villainy that I never suspected. I enjoy a bit of suspense and drama because it heightens the emotions of both the main characters, and if done right, the reader too. Ms. Weber succeeded and it made the story that much better.

Nice & Naughty is a fun, enthusiastic romance between two characters that brought out the best in each other. It’s not dark and dismal but bright, quirky and adorable except when the author wanted to shock a reader with the extent of the antagonist’s treachery and criminal actions. Ms. Weber dropped clues here and there and only after the big reveal did I remember what I read and put the pieces together. Part of the answer was there all along but the biggest surprise came at the end. That was an amazing round up.

I recommend Nice & Naughty to any reader who is looking for a story that can make them feel happy, a bit flustered in a good way, and who likes a book peppered with good humor and witty dialogue. This novel delivers it all.

To prevent three royal dukes from marrying their way onto the throne, heroic, selfless agents for the crown will be dispatched…to seduce the dukes’ intended brides. These wickedly debauched rakes will rumple sheets and cause a scandal. But they just might fall into their own trap…

After he’s blamed for a botched assignment during war, former cavalry officer Rhys Warrick turns his back on “honor.” He spends his nights in brothels doing his best to live down to the expectations of his disapproving family. But one last mission could restore the reputation he’s so thoroughly sullied. All he has to do is seduce and ruin Miss Olivia Symon and his military record will be cleared. For a man with Rhys’s reputation, ravishing the delectably innocent miss should be easy. But Olivia’s honesty and bold curiosity stir more than Rhys’s desire. Suddenly the heart he thought he left on the battlefield is about to surrender…

Trading favors and wagering against an admitted rake was Olivia’s first mistake. The second was falling for him.

As a first born wealthy heiress from an untitled family, Olivia’s prospects for a husband are slim and her social awkwardness and lanky physique don’t help matters either. However, she may not have to search far since one of the royal dukes has made his interest known, but first she must be “interviewed”. Olivia is not so naive to be unaware that the royal duke’s real interest is mostly in her untouched state and fertile future to secure his own seat on the throne. It’s all politics, but for the sake of her family’s future and mostly that of her sisters, Olivia may not have much choice in her match with the aging duke. That is until temptation walks in upsetting her quiet life and challenges her to become a knowledgeable virgin.

Lord Rhys Warrington lives a wastrel existence after a defeat in battle leaves him and his two best mates mired in scandal. Three years after the offending event, Rhys now finds himself faced with the proposition of a lifetime to restore his and his family’s honor. But it will mean seduction of the wrong kind of girl – a virgin. As an admitted libertine and rake without any gentlemanly qualities, Rhys should have no problem bedding the unknowing chit and ruining her chances of a royal dukedom. It is Rhys’ conscience, however, that poses the problem and controls even his most basic of instincts especially his physical responses. When it becomes clear someone else is threatening Olivia’s physical well-being, but with deadly intentions, Rhys must decide his priorities and what his true intentions toward the lady are.

A story complete with an overbearing mother, an unlikely romance and a deadly whodunit mystery to solve set in a time where propriety and acceptance in high society were the concerns of the day. However, a Hymen Hunt is underway and there are several players who have a stake, political, vengeful or otherwise, in the outcome. By these twisted circumstances is how our leads meet and their headstrong personalities and brilliant banter kept the story paced perfectly. I really enjoyed the sexual banter and how the whole “knowledgeable virgin” venture led to some very steamy scenes.

Olivia is not the typical heroine in description and I believe Rhys said it best when he described her as “endearingly awkward”. On the other hand, Rhys fits the physical embodiment of a rake perfectly, but with a much deeper side that only comes out when he’s around Olivia. It’s his rakish attitude that makes him charming and frustrating at the same time, but it definitely keeps things interesting. My complaint comes from these two falling for each other too soon and I would have liked to see Olivia’s intelligence shine just a bit more by her holding off on Rhys’ advances longer.

I believe the author duo did a fabulous job taking historically realistic events, people, places, and things and twisting them in their own imaginative way. Since we were introduced to three determined rakes in need of reforming and vindication at the beginning of this story, I am eagerly waiting to see what happens with the other two. For all historical romance fans this is definitely one not to be missed.

Wilhelmina is outraged and determined there has to be a better solution than the brash, arrogant young detective. They constantly clash and the pages sizzle with their interactions.

With two such determined, stubborn minded main characters I knew this would be an really good book, and I wasn’t disappointed. Both Wilhelmina and Michael are forces to be reckoned with and Ms. DeVita doesn’t hold back with either of them as they interact. Coming from different viewpoints, both Michael and Wilhelmina in their own ways are desperate to love and care for T.C, and neither are willing to give any ground when it comes to the foster boy. Despite the story sometimes feeling somewhat dated, it’s still a wonderful tale of two people coming together – albeit kicking, shoving and dragging their feet every inch of the way – and I was delighted to devour every page.

This character driven novel is a reprint from a Silhouette Romance, and even though it is safe to share with other women in your family (older and younger) it still has a bit of spice and a ton of sexual tension. But it is the characters here, Wilhelmina, Michael and T.C in particular, who will steal your hearts and have you up long into the night turning the pages compulsively. A wonderful, heartwarming and addictive story.

It’s been years, and she tells herself she’s over his betrayal, but to her irritation, she finds she still has an appetite for his steel-gray eyes, clean-shaven head, and sleeve tattoos.

Darien regrets the single, juvenile act that ended it with Pepper, but he’s never found the courage to apologize. Now that they’re in close quarters, something’s steaming and it’s not just the saucepots. One toe-curling kiss proves there’s the potential for more than just a guarded friendship, and he sets out to prove he’s grown into an honorable man.

Until he discovers she’s pulled a seasoning switch that could have ruined one of his dishes. Now it’s on. There’s ten thousand dollars on the line, but if they don’t surrender to another chance at love, one—or both—of their wounded hearts could get singed.

Darien Priest was the competition. He continuously set up his food truck right near Pepper’s and they were competing against each other in a race for a big cash prize – ten thousand dollars worth of it. Having already been burned by the sexy man in the past, Pepper is determined not to place her heart – or trust – in him again. Despite their rocky, complicated past, she’d struck an uneasy, if fiercely contested, truce and beginnings of a friendship. If only the tattooed man wasn’t such a hunk, Pepper could keep her mind on track and not be so distracted by his smoking hot physique. Both Pepper and Darien are determined, stubborn people, the sensual antagonism in and out of the kitchen smolders in this book.

A spicy, enticing romance, this book will appeal to a large crowd. Those who like masterchef, competition cooking shows or just enjoy puttering around the kitchen will find plenty of laughs and enjoyment in watching both Pepper and Darien clash in this cooking-heavy romance. There are mix-ups and retaliations, plenty of conflict and plot to keep the pages burning along at a fast pace. I liked how even though they were both fiercely determined to win the competition, the sexual tension and obvious attraction they both had simmered lightly under the surface until they both reached boiling point. Sparks and tempers both fly – neither character is a shrinking violet – but they could still come together and finally melt like the most decadent of chocolate. Ending the story on a wonderful positive note was just the icing on the cake.

I’d definitely recommend this book and found it a great way to add a bit of heat into an otherwise rainy weekend.

Lady Eve’s Got The Perfect Plan

Pretty, petite Evie Windham has been more indiscreet than her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Moreland, suspect. Fearing that a wedding night would reveal her past, she’s running out of excuses to dodge adoring swains. Lucas Denning, the newly titled Marquis of Deene, has reason of his own for avoiding marriage. So Evie and Deene strike a deal, each agreeing to be the other’s decoy. At this rate, matrimony could be avoided indefinitely…until the two are caught in a steamy kiss that no one was supposed to see.

Lady Eve, pretty, petite, with phenomenal inner strength and awareness of who she is as an individual, is the youngest of the Duke and Duchess of Moreland’s children.

The marvelous Morelands with all their scandals, familial loyalty, and love rally around their little Evie as she begins to live again after seven years of struggling back from a horrible accident and an even more horrible experience with a crude, deceiving cad. She worked long and hard to regain her physical good health and has tried to do the same with her heart but it still has deep wounds that refuse to heal. The family’s humor, honesty, and protectiveness is amazing to see as they set in to see that she has a chance to become sparkling, mischievous, happy person she had once been.

Lucas Dennning, the new Marquis of Deene is a longtime friend and neighbor of the Morelands and served on the peninsula with two of Eve’s brothers. He and Eve shy away from each other because of a kiss under the mistletoe in an uninhibited moment when Eve was quite young. He has always been like another brother, but little by little, even though both of them vow they are just protecting each other from the social “hunters”, they find a unique connection that begins to smolder, sizzle then flame into a breathtaking love.

Also, he is determined to gain custody of his dead sister’s child to honor his sister’s wish and to give the darling little Georgina a home and place in society that befits her heritage on her mother’s side. Lucas also has Anthony, his cousin, to deal with. Anthony has supervised the stewards over the Deene lands for years. He will inherit the title should Lucas die before producing an heir.

The conflicts that ensue create intriguing, often heart-pounding moments. But the most captivating and sparking moments are the ones that Eve and Lucas share as their love grows with the various members of the Moreland family giving it a nudge every chance they get.

Grace Burrowes’ stories about each of the Duke and Duchess’ of Moreland offspring as they find true love are all magical and Lady Eve’s story is one of the best of them. Even though the reader is immersed in Lucas and Eve’s story, we also get glimpses of how Eve’s siblings are faring and how they all still secretly maneuver to influence events, to protect their own, and nurture each other as well as their own young families.

Ms. Burrowes’ well-researched historical settings, her exquisite writing style, her talent to develop riveting characters, her skill in sprinkling humor in at just the right time, and her delectable, sensual, compelling love scenes make Lady Eve’s Indiscretion  a spellbinding, vicarious experience for the reader.

If you enjoy Regency historical, I recommend the entire series of books about the Morelands. Each book is quite different from the other yet they join in such ways as to show the strong, unbreakable ties that bind the family into a cohesive unit that will stand against the world to protect their own. The stories are replete with conflicts, rich with humor, and sizzle with love. They are like a set of jewels that go together with each of them uniquely cut to make them sparkle in their own special way.

I’m looking forward to Jenny’s story that will be the eighth book.

She’d lived a quiet, useful life healing the villagers and whoever needed her care. While Liadain is a raven-haired, green-eyed beauty who is kind and delicate, she is not a pushover if crossed. Her tongue is sharp when she is riled but her humor makes her eyes sparkle when sparring with Declan in a easy give-and-take way. They have a unique friendship.

Declan MacGregor, the third son, has tried the patience of his family since the death of his father. Drink and women are his main interests. His Laird, his older brother Ciaran, sends him to escort their dead enemy’s sister to court. Declan feels he must stay to protect the naïve Liadain from the machinations that abound at court. He tries to do the right thing but doesn’t always succeed. Also, he does not realize there is an evil web being woven around him that could prove deadly.

Some of the secondary characters with ties back to The Bloody Campbell are devious and cunning antagonists. Even the disgusting Dunnehl and Caroline Armstrong that you may have met in a previous book, show up. Moreover, they have allies that add to the danger that threatens Declan.

Other secondary characters like Rosalia and Aisling, wives of Ciaran and Aiden MacGregor add humor, wisdom, and unswerving loyalty to the hero and heroine. The intrepid little boy John brings a special type of loyalty to the story.

Victoria Roberts blends in just enough seventeenth-century English history to set the reader firmly in the time and place but doesn’t overdo it. She uses it to augment the development of the characters making them vibrant and compelling. As the plot unfolds, her characters seem to come alive.

If you have read her previous books about the MacGregor clan, you will recognize some of the characters. It is captivating to catch up with how their lives are progressing. Full of vivid imagery and an amazing plot, Wicked Paradise is a gem in the fantasy romance genre.

I was amazed at how well this story sucked me right in, from the beginning set centuries ago, to a dystopian future on a cursed, but beautiful island. The two main characters are incredibly three dimensional, and I was fully invested in both. I never thought they acted out of character or without motivation, and understood their reasoning for behavior (good and bad) easily.

The sexual heat was smoking hot, even though they didn’t act on it right away. It built and built until I was ready to explode, right along with Ryan and Morgan! It was fantastic and just how I like it: a long build-up with a passion right when and where it’s fitting.

The plot was interesting and complex. I worried for our characters being trapped on the island with the magic- consuming demon. How would they ever survive? Well woven and believable. Nicely done. Here’s hoping to a sequel. Soon. I can’t wait to visit with these characters (including a baby flying horse!) soon.
